Introduction
The pilot episode (later re-broadcast as the opening two episodes of season 1) aired a month prior to the debut of the regular series and introduced four characters: Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Speedy. It established their desire for greater recognition and respect, namely, a promotion from sidekicks to full-fledged superheroes. Met with opposition from their respective mentors in the Justice League, Batman, Aquaman, Flash, and Green Arrow, the protégés react in different ways. Speedy resigns from being Green Arrow's partner and begins calling himself Red Arrow. The others seek to persuade their mentors of their worth by secretly taking on a Justice League mission to investigate the Cadmus building. During their infiltration of Cadmus' headquarters, the three heroes find a clone of Superman named Superboy. After the discovery, the team finds out Cadmus is creating living weapons called Genomorphs. The episode deals with this revelation, the origin of Superboy, and how this relates to a mysterious group of people called the Light. In the end, Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Superboy negotiate with Batman to organize a covert operations team as a practical contrast to the Justice League, whose celebrity status makes it difficult to maintain secrecy or initiate stealth operations. After consulting with his colleagues, Batman establishes Young Justice in a secret cave located inside a former Justice League headquarters, Mount Justice, a hollowed-out mountain. Here the teens are trained and mentored by the Justice League. Miss Martian makes an appearance at the end of the episode and joins as the fifth member.
Continuity
Plot for Young Justice Invasion
Young Justice: Invasion is the second season of Young Justice, preceded by season one, and it comprises 20 episodes.[1] It was expected to air in March 2012, during the premiere of DC Nation,[2][3] but was later set to premiere on April 28.[4]
The story follows the teenage superhero members of the Team, as they must deal with an alien invasion.[5]
The first episode takes place on January 1, five years after the first season concluded.[6] Unlike the previous season which featured a spate of guest directors, the season two production team hired a permanent set of three directors: Tim Divar, Doug Murphy and Mel Zwyer.[7]
Five years have passed since season one, and with it has brought drastic changes; including alterations to the Team and League line-ups, and public perception of masked vigilantes.
The heroes have found out what occurred during the missing 16 hours during which six Leaguers were under Vandal Savage's mind control. As a result, those same Leaguers have left Earth to undergo a criminal trial on Rimbor.
Aliens have secretly invaded and have been operating on Earth for unspecified purposes.
The Light is still active and is now working with a new Partner.
Red Arrow was consumed by his ongoing search for Speedy for the last five years, until he and Cheshire found Speedy and took him back to Star City.
Aqualad is working deep undercover for Nightwing as the loyal lieutenant of his father, and Artemis's death is faked, in order to learn more about the Light and their new Partner.
Sportsmaster and Cheshire set out to get vengeance on Aqualad and Black Manta for the death of Artemis.
Lagoon Boy is captured by Aqualad, and the Team and Aquaman do their best to find him.
The Reach makes themselves known to the public, professing good intentions, but all the while concealing a hidden agenda.
