Asami Higashiyama

Developed and recovered from cancer when she was younger. She has not had much contact with people as a result.

0 · 554 views · located in London, England

a character in “Young Master/Mistress and Butler/Maid.”, as played by Kuroe

Description

Name: Asami Higashiyama
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Blood Type: A
Family Business: inter-continental conglomerate business
Level: first
Maid assigned: TBA

Appearance
Hair: White blonde, straight, goes down to the small of her back.
Eyes: very dark, seemingly black.
Dressing Style: usually simple clothing, dresses and skirts in that are darker colors. Sometimes resembles Gothic Lolita style.
General Appearance: very, very thin, does not eat much, and gets sick sometimes as a result. Inherited Japanese looks from her mother, as far as facial and general body structure, but has her grandmother's hair. Her skin is extremely pale.
Weight: 40 kg/approximately 90 lb.
Height: 4'8"

Other
Extra info: Always has the teddy bear and jade comb her grandmother gave to her on her person, gets visibly anxious when they cannot be found.
Subjects: world history, world cultures, French 2, Business math, gym. After school activities: Art.

Personality

Likes: drawing landscapes, reading, staring off into space, making her hair nice, gifts from others.
Dislikes: conversing with people,
Habits: generally shows absolutely no emotion at all, she doesn't eat if she doesn't think about it, and she will follow a person around all the time if she decides she likes them.
Personality: Quiet and reserved, she would rather stare off into space than engage in anything remotely resembling a conversation. However, despite her lack of any desire to interact with people and having no semblance of interest in others, if a person is able to worm their way into her heart, she relies on them extensively. Perhaps too much, as her dependence on people she likes becomes a constant nuisance, especially since she does not generally express this desire to be around them with with speech or comprehensible actions. She is also, because of all these things, actually very emotionally fragile, and has shown symptoms of depression in the past. She treasures any gifts given to her by another person whom she has an emotional attachment to, such as the teddy bear her grandmother gave her after she recovered.
She prides herself on her hair, and strongly dislikes anyone messing it up or otherwise doing something to it.

History

Bio: Her father is the owner/head of a large conglomerate company in America, where he was born. Her mother is a Japanese woman he met while traveling abroad before he inherited the company. He established a section of the company in Japan, where it became rather influential, and then he sought her out again and proposed to her.
Asami, however, developed a brain tumor when she was four, and it took her six years to fully recover. When she did, she was homeschooled from then on, and did not show any interest in inheriting the company or interacting in the business world.
Her grandmother, whom she loved deeply, died when she was thirteen from natural causes.
Birthplace: Kyoto, Japan.
Ethnicity: half Japanese, half American.

Asami Higashiyama
Asami's eyes snapped open. She was lying uncomfortably on a cot. Looking around, she could tell it was the infirmary. She sighed. Maybe she wouldn't have to go out today then...
"oh! You're awake!" a young nurse rushes over. Asami had no idea where she'd come from, but she was getting uncomfortablly close. The nursemaid a hand on her forehead. "Okay. No fever... That's a start. Are you feeling okay?"
Asami thought for a moment. If she said no, then she'd probably get to stay away from people the whole day...
The nurse, however, shook her head. "No use thinking about it, you can't fool me. Now, up, up and get out of that bed. You already missed the first day. Oh, what a bother... Ah, that means you don't have one yet..." Asami had no idea she was talking about, but sighed and sat up on the bed. The nurse turned around suddenly. "here, why don't I send one of your classmates to pick you up. You're... Asami, I believe. Here, I'll go get one. Do you know anybody yet?"
Asami shook her head. The nurse tutted. "Well, as good a time as any to make a new friend. Here, your luggage is in the corner, get dressed and I'll be back in a bit with someone to show you to your classes and your schedule."
Asami looked over at her suitcase of clothes while the nurse bustled out of the room and sighed. Maybe she wouldn't be able to get out of anything today. She thought to herself gloomily while she threw on a black long sleeve normal shirt and a black skirt that didn't match at all and set to the task of grooming her hair in the room's small mirror.

((anyone who wants to volunteer to pick her up can just have the nurse randomly find them and have them go with her. I'm sorry, she just doesnt have a maid yet. If no one wants to do it, then I can just have her wander into whatever class she happens to go to first.))

Glancing at the clock Dail noticed the time, and naturally, felt a little worried.

“I’m going to be late,” He sighed. “Why didn’t you wake me up earlier?”

Turning to his grandfather, who stood cheerfully, the old man simply smiled without a worry evident on his features. As usual, knowingly, his grandson was being too perfect. When staring up at the clock himself the man blinked, while sighing, and shaking his head in return.

“Your early yet, you have time. Why do you expect to be late unless you leave hours before?”

Dail just shrugged before leaving the room dully, and wandered off to his bedroom in search of his bag and things, which he knew he’d very well need today. Yet despite his grandfathers nagging, the boy would leave earlier anyway, as he always did. After a few moments Dail grabbed his bag and threw it over his shoulder snuggly, before adjusting his clothes a little and casually walking out the room and heading for the front door.

“Well, I’m going,” He muttered, while passing the door which his grandfather stood by. “See you later.”

With a huff, and rolling his eyes, Dail closed the door and left the house keenly. Crossing over the streets and turning corners the boy ventured to the Academy easily, as he lived close by, and casually entered the area. On the way he noticed very few people, meaning he was actually early, though actually preferred this and walked into the building confidently, smiling.

“I wonder what class I have first…” He mumbled to himself, before feeling a cold hand pressing against is shoulder suddenly, and softly turning him slightly. “Yes?” It was a woman, dressed oddly, who beckoned for his attention. Though not knowing who she were, the woman seemed keen to have him follow her, after stating,

“Would you be interesting in guiding a new student around? I’d be very grateful if you were.”

Dail thought briefly over the matter, before shrugging and agreeing. After all he was early, and could spare the time. After talking a little, the woman lead the boy up and into the infirmary before stopping at a room, and allowing him to enter, before following in herself.

“Hello there, I am Daileass Taveon. I heard you needed a guide?” He asked quietly while standing idly beside the nurse, and looking on to the girl who sat by a mirror brushing her hair. From what he could tell she was quite pretty, though looked rather ill. With her blonde hair and dark outfit she was rather fetching, though he could only wonder what was the matter with her, seeing as she were in the infirmary.

Ackley smiled, grudgingly.

It had been a rough night, and he hadn’t managed to settle into his new bed. Not to mention he couldn’t go complaining to his parents and despite his lack of sleep, and motivation, he had to still atend classes and pretend to be cheerful, when he clearly wasn’t. Nevertheless, while being up early, and fully awake, Ackley made an effort to get himself ready. Of course though, while not having his parents, the whole ordeal was something of a cultural shock. Espeically when it came to looking out his clothes, and dressing himself, and making sure that nothing was out of place; as his mother would have done on many mornings, which actually was a thing he found annoying, but not today…

He missed his mother, and father.

Get a grip! Your not a baby!

With a deep sigh, and displeasured pout, Ackley casually glanced at himself in the mirror. For hours now he had looked, gazed, and awed at himself yet never felt pleased enough. Perhaps this morning, today, would be one of those… days. Oh how he hated those days.

“I suppose I better head off,” He said, calmly. “It’s boring here, anyway.”

Walking over to the bed he lifelessly grabbed his bag, before slowly pulling it over his shoulders and comfortably adjusting it. Thankfully, the night before he readied his things, and now without hassle he headed out the door; locking it, and walking off down the stairs which were close by.

Perhaps some breakfast would be intertaining…

While venturing through the dorms and traveling down the stairs Ackley kept to himself, mainly as he noticed very few others about, and when thinking about it he wasn’t in the mood for light chatter. Though when exiting the building, and thinking more, Ackley decided he would hunt for his maid, or at least hope she were about in the dorms.

Thinking quietly to himself, Ackley carefully made his way into the girls dorms and looked around. Keeping a close eye on those around him he noticed only a few students were up and about; no doubt those who were eager to learn, and had plenty of sleep under their belts. Gits. When reaching round a corner he glanced around, and noticed a small group nearby who seemed friendly enough, and not to mention his maid was there too.

Ah, finally.

Walking over, and without much thought, Ackley said, “There you are. I’ve been looking for you.”

Asami turned around and blinked at the boy who stood beside the nurse. He was nearly a head taller than her, and stood addressing her from the doorway. She took one last glance at her hair, decided it was fine and stood up. She spared no time addressing the boy back, but did look at her things. The nurse immediately tried to fill the awkward silence.
"Ah, those... I'll have those delivered to your room. Here, come by later and find the number, or you can ask the principle later. Now, run along and have a look around," the nurse shooed her along, with the boy named Daileass.
Asami wasn't very good at judging people, but he didn't exactly seem comfortable. In fact, there was a rather strained quality to the air. She couldn't imagine why, though. It wasn't as though she was really asking anything of him, and if he felt like it, he could always leave. Maybe that was the problem. She sighed and decided to pay it no heed, instead waiting for him to say something or leave.

Listening to the nurse, and taking the hint to leave, Dail gave a simple nod before waiting outside in the hall for the girl, who seemed rather… well, he didn’t know. She was interesting that way, as he couldn’t tell how she felt towards him, or even if she was happy for his company. Though that was also a downside, as it made the boy feel slightly uncomfortable, and at a lose.

When the pair were out of the room, Dail sighed a little with thought. “Is there anywhere you want to visit first?” He asked, after sensing another awkward moment. “Are you hungry? There’s a good cafeteria here, and personally, I find this Academy’s gardens really amazing, and I’d recommend going there at some point?” Pausing, he looked to her for a response, and hoped it was a good one.

After a few moments the boy quickly realized something. “Sorry, I haven’t asked your name yet,” He sheepishly laughed a little, with a tad of embarrassment. “What is your name?”

Ackley blinked a little, before giving a nod and following the group.

When his maid turned to him, unsure of what to get, he simply shrugged. “I don’t really know either, but as long as there’s something good to eat, I’m getting it,” He laughed a little, quietly, before walking with the others and heading out of the dormitory. “In fact, I haven’t even seen the cafeteria yet. I mainly sorted out my dorm room yesterday, and didn’t really explore the Academy. So this should be fun,” The said boy cheerfully, with a smile.

“Anyway, let’s get going. I’m quite hungry myself,” Ackley muttered while outside, and casually eyeing up all the buildings nicely. “Not to mention class will start shortly, so we better move it. Sound good, Rebecca?”

Asami was taken aback. People didn't usually stay long enough to ask her name, or had asked her parents instead of her.
She looked down, wondering at what she would say. Maybe she wouldn't say anything, but... She glanced at the big again, who was waiting politely for her name. If she didn't say anything, he probably wouldn't stay. Maybe it would be okay to talk to him just once, she guessed.

"Asami Higashiyama..." she said softly. She wasn't hungry, but she didn't say as much. If she forgot to eat again, she would probably end up in the nurse's office, and people would probably be worried, and then they might want to talk to her... She shrugged instead, looking at Dail, wondering if he was going to respond or leave.

Dail smiled a little when the girl spoke, mostly since he wasn’t sure if he was going to get anything out of her, though thankfully she at least mentioned her name. “Asami? That’s a nice name,” He said softly, while minding his manners. “It is nice to meet you, Asami.” It wasn’t often he was socializing with a girl, or people in general, though after meeting his mistress and some friends to follow, the butler was beginning to get use to it.

“You can just call me Dail, for short. It’s much easier, and faster to pronounce,” He gave a slight nod in response, while hoping the girl would ease a little bit. “Although, if I do something wrong, by all means call me Daileass. My mistress does, though I don’t often make it a habit to displease people,” The boy smiled a little more while looking to the girl, and after another moment of silence grew between them, the butler quickly thought of a way to overcome this. “I guess your not hungry, and you probably aren’t interested in seeing places since your only just new to this place. I understand, but maybe we can just walk about?”

He waited a moment, allowing her to think it over. “There’s a library here too, do you like to read?” He suggested with a hopeful gaze, though assumed the girl would probably retain her silence. “You know, if you don’t want to talk you can just say? I often do, though admittedly I do often say the wrong thing to people, but that’s just natural. Oh, by the way, I’m a butler. Until you get a maid, if you need anything I’ll help you, alright? I’m sure my mistress wouldn’t mind, she’s really nice.”

Ackley smiled contently, feeling a little merrier than before. “Oh, Rebecca, what class do you have first? I’m pretty sure we’re in most of the same ones, but it’d be handy to know,” He asked, while walking by the girls side. “Sorry if I seem nosey, I’m not in the habit of speaking with people like this. Though I hope we do get off to a good start since we’re master and maid.”

Asami nodded slowly. Maybe that was the reason he was being friendly, because he was a butler. The maids and butlers back at her home, though they didn't have many, we're friendly with her, but not quite like this. This was more... She guessed the word would be sincere, but she wasn't quite sure.

People were so confusing sometimes... Even the people she would read books about were confusing. She had never really understood the concept of friendship... When she was smaller, her parents had tried to get her to make friends with the children of family friends and whatnot, but she was truly just uninterested in people. Maybe, though, this time she could give it a try. It couldn't hurt. But... What did people do to be friendly? Start a conversation? She racked her brain to come up with something, but to little avail. Maybe she could just ask him about himself. That would be much easier.

"Umm..." she started. What could she ask him? "Where are you from...?"

She was still worried about the question, though. Was it rude in his country to ask too many questions about another person? She mentally kicked herself. This was why she didn't like people. They were just too confusing...

Dail waited quietly, silently, as the girl seemed to think. From what it seemed the girl was a little put out by their meeting, and evidently she was similar to him, though years before when he was young. As a child, oddly, Dail avoided much socialization. Like Asami now, he recognized the feeling.

“I am from Scotland, you see,” He answered. “Though I talk a little more proper than most, and I don’t act as normal as the typical Scotsman. But, yeah, I come from Scotland. And, where are you from?” The boy grew slightly curious and though to return the question.

“You don’t seem like your from around here, though I apologize if I offended you. Also, if you don‘t mind me prying, but are you not feeling too well? I couldn‘t help but notice you were in the infirmary, and so I just assumed” He muttered, unsure of how she’d react. “I just mean, well, if your feeling tired or anything then just let me know. I could take you back there if that happens, or we can have a sit down, and you know. At the very least just lean on me, take my hand, whatever.”

Dail didn’t want to seem push, or patronizing, but he couldn’t help but worry if the girl was unwell. After all, she was in his care and that made him reasonable for her, at least. “Sorry if I seem in your face, I’m still getting use to interacting with people. I’m not usually this social,” He laughed a little towards her.

“Ah, so do I. We’ll have English together then,” He replied happily, feeling relieved to know someone familiar would be in his class, not to mention it would be his first class ever. “Gymnastics? That sounds very physical. If your trying out then that must mean your pretty good at it?” The boy questioned curiously, as he, himself, was not that active. “Personally, I don’t really get involved with sports. Though that’s just down to my poor health, sorta’. Well, I mean, I wasn’t allowed to do sports as a kid, but I’ve never really attempt now, as I’m older.”

Asami considered what he was saying. Apparently he wasn't particularly comfortable around people either... Maybe he was a good person to talk to, then, if he wasn't very good at this kind of thing either...

"I've lived in Japan up until now... And the infirmary..." she sighed. Maybe she wouldn't be able to avoid truest ions about her health. She definitely acknowledged that it wasn't the best. "I forget to eat sometimes... And I've had some... Issues with my health before, so people worry... I tend to get sick often, I guess."

She watched Dail for his reaction. "I'm fine now, though... I guess I got some stuff to eat in the infirmary. You don't need to worry..." she hoped he wouldn't make a fuss over it like most people seemed to. She realized that her forgetfulness and habits were somewhat of a problem, but people always started to worry too much.

“Japan? Wow, that’s really something. Never been there myself though,” He mutter in response, before listening to the girl further. Apparently, from what he could tell, she forgot to eat now and then? Issues? Health? It sounded a bit of a hassle, and Dail couldn’t imagine how the girl managed to deal with it all, never mind being social when clearly she was not up to it. “So you forget to eat sometimes? Well, I guess that’s easily enough done. I know sometimes I don’t feel like eating.”

The butler nodded now and then, listening to Asami. “Well, if your fine now then I guess everything is good, right?” He asked with a smile, while attempting to reassure her. “If you faint at any point, then I’ll worry. But for now I’ll assume your good to go, agreed?” Dail smiled more widely towards the girl, after feeling a sense of achievement in getting her to talk.

“Anyway, sorry to pry. I sometimes do that,” The butler sheepishly chuckled. “After spending a day here I’ve gotten a bit more confident, and excited about this place. Maybe it was the gardens that did it, I was giddy back there yesterday. But it’s a wonderful place all the same.”

Asami nodded quickly, glad that the conversation had steered away from her health. She was starting to like him. He reminded her of her grandmother. She stopped at that thought. It probably wouldn't be a very good idea to tell him that.

Instead, she smiled tentatively back at him. "Um... Where should we go now?" she said, stil quiet but not quite as unsure of her words as she had been.

“Well, we could go to the gardens. Or, do you know what class you have?” Dail asked curiously, while thinking in the process. “Classes while be starting in a wee while, and I arrived early this morning, so we have time to do whatever we want, really. I don’t know what my mistress is up to, she may still be a sleep or doing something, so I guess I’m all yours this morning. Was there anywhere in particular you wanted to go see?”

After a moment, the butler felt a weird vibration from within his pocket. Quickly seeing to it he noticed his phone ringing, and answered it. “Hello?” He muttered, unsure of who it were.

“Oh, Katherine,” The butler muttered in response, before adding a cheerful sigh. “I hope your not keeping tabs on me, you know,” He laughed a little before allowing the girl to continue. “I’m actually with a girl at the moment, we’re somewhere about the Academy, so if you didn’t mind, I could bring her along as well? She’s new, like us,” Dail continued to his mistress. “I mean, I know we need to get our things sorted out, but I don’t want to leave her, and she still needs to find a maid. Where are you anyway?” The boy asked, while looking towards Asami.

Asami listened to what he was saying and nearly cringed, but didn't let anything show on her face. He was fine, but she still didn't know about meeting other people... Still, he had his duties as a butler to someone else, and it wasn't really her place to stop him anyway. She guessed that she could go and meet his mistress. He'd said she was nice, so maybe it would be okay.

“What do you mean, ‘oh, a girl?’ Never mind, I’m not getting into this,” The butler huffed, before rolling his eyes as the mistress spoke on. “Only you could be somewhere, and not know where you are. Honestly, you do surprise me,” Dail teased a little, before sighing. “Alright, I’ll see you by the main entrance. You do know where, and what that is, don’t you? I’d hate for you to get lost now,” The butler teased a little more before giving it a rest. “Anyway, I’ll see you there. Bye.”

Hanging up he turned to the girl, and offered a smile. “I’m sorry for just dragging you along, but I didn’t want to leave you so rudely. And, my mistress is really nice, if not a little scattered brained at the best of times,” He laughed a little, knowing Katherine wouldn’t know. “Besides, she’s my friend. We need to get our schedules sorted out since we didn’t yesterday, that’s all. But if you don’t want to come that’s perfectly alright, I’d hate to force you into it.”

Asami shook her head. She didn't really know what she would do if she didn't go with him anyway. She'd probably end up getting lost, since she didn't know the grounds.
"It's fine... I should get my schedule as well, actually," she said, not betraying her anxiousness at the prospect of possibly being in a large group of people.

“True, that makes sense,” Dail muttered in agreement. “By the way, no need to worry. It’s just my mistress, who’s called Katherine, that we’re going to meet at the main entrance. Which, really, we should be hurrying off to before she gets worried, and then gets lost herself, knowing her,” He teased a little, enjoying the freedom from his mistress for once; and making good use of it. “If you start feeling weird, or want to leave then let me know and we can head off, alright? Now, let’s go. I know where we’re going so just keep up, and we’ll be there in no time.”

Turning, the butler thought for a moment. “We’re quite close actually, just down a set of stairs once we go down this hallway, ok? My mistress should be close by.” He explained briefly before leading the way forward.

Asami followed Dail as he walked down the hall and and the staircase. There weren't many people in the building at this time of day, which Asami was somewhat glad of. Finally, Dail reached a set of doors and opened one for her, allowing her to go out. She walked outside to a rather nice day. Looking around, she saw a brown haired girl, about the same height as her, writing something down on a piece of paper. She assumed it was Dail's mistress and decided to wait for him to introduce them.

When reaching their designated area, Dail quickly glanced around before seeing his mistress. At that moment, he motioned for Asami to follow as they walked up to the girl who appeared to be making some notes somewhat on a piece of paper. “Katherine,” The butler spoke up. “You actually didn’t get lost to my surprise,” He teased a little, smirking, before looking to Asami.

“This is Asami, a friend,” The boy promptly introduced. “I met her today and was getting to know her when you phoned, mistress, and couldn’t bear to leave her so rudely and thought best to bring her with me,” He continued before sighing, and turned to his mistress. “I believe we needed to get a few things sorted? Also, Asami needs to get her schedule and I’d like to help get her sorted into the Academy, till she gets a maid at least, mistress.”

Asami tilted her head, confused. Katherine was asking if she could come with them...? It seemed to Asami that it should be the other way around, and decided to not say anything. She thought that she should probably acknowledge the girl somehow, but couldnt think of anything to do or say... At this point, she didn't think a "hello" would do, but what else was there to say? Dail had already told Katherine her name, so she wasn't supposed to say to again, right...?
She sighed inwardly, and instead decided to do nothing, and hope that Dail would be able to make a conversation.

“No, you didn’t interrupt anything. I was actually… telling Asami what a great mistress I had, and how smart and charming you were,” The butler sheepishly chuckled, acting innocent, before falling into slight thought over what classes he had. Though thankfully, he had prepared this last night and answered with ease, naturally. “Well, I have World History, Physical Education, English, Technology and Music. Those are my classes, so feel free to work it out,” He replied, before placing his hands to his hips and looking downwards to his mistress with another smirk. “I suppose you can tag along, wouldn’t want you getting lost again without my guidance,” Dail teased before turning to Asami.

“If my mistress didn’t have a butler like me I don’t know what she would do,” He sighed playfully with a shrug. “We have only just began the day and already she is needing me,” The butler smiled and looked to his mistress confidently, before laughing quietly. “Oh well, you know me. I always like helping people because I am a nice, cheerful, friendly person. Completely. Truly. Of course. Anyway, why don‘t we go and see about getting Asami her schedule? I‘m sure she will need it.” The boy seemed weirdly cheerful, for once. Perhaps this would last.

Katherine Prescott

"Uh-huh...I'm glad I didn't interrupt something." The petite mistress looked at her butler with her bright light blue eyes, debating whether or not to believe him or not. His chuckle and the way he was acting seemed suspicious. Shaking the thought from her head, she smile hearing his classes. "A that's great! We have the first three classes together. And speaking of music, have you thought anymore about what I asked you yesterday? You know, about the guitar?" She questioned tilting her head slightly off the the side, as a few strands of dark honey brown hair fell in front of her face. "Again? When did I get lost before?" She had a puzzled look, was he talking about earlier? When she told him she didn't know exactly where she was outside? She was outside by the Academy, she didn't know the exact location, but that's not being lost.

"If I didn’t have a butler like you?" She repeated. "What you mean one that likes to teased their mistress a lot?" She let out a small giggle at how Daileass portrayed himself. "Alright let's get going. I'm fairly sure the Headmaster will be in his office. That's where we need to go to get Asami her schedule." With that being said, the girl headed off up the stairs to get to the office. She looked over her shoulder at the two. "Come on you two. Let's get a move on!" She smiled,

Sasha entered the cafeteria she wasn't going to buy food or anything, it was just the closest entrance to the Academy she could find. With a look around, she pulled out a bag Bugles. She opened then up and began munching on them. She needed to get her schedule, since her plane didn't land until yesterday night. The girl really didn't know if she needed to find a mistress or not. It'll be one of the many questions she has to ask the Headmaster. Once she got to the stairs, she saw a small group of people. Paying no mind to them, she walked up the stairs, passing them, and headed to the Headmaster's office.

Asami looks at the two of them, trying to work out in her head which classes she had. Of course, she could only remember one, so she assumed that she had to goby the principal's office.
"ummm... I only know that I have French 2... So... I need to go by the principle's office, I think..." she said, almost so quiet that she couldn't hear her own voice.
