16

Gender?

Male

Blood Type?

A+

Why you’re here?

Luthais realized his life was going nowhere, that’s it.

Level?

2nd Year

Master/Mistress Assigned?

Haruo Sato

- - -

Dressing Style?

Luthais tends to dress in a rather formal manner, or at least keep his clothing simple and plain, as he feels he must look presentable and give this impression whenever in the presence of those who are considered important, while trying to cover up his more moodier, careless nature. As well as that, he really doesn’t want to bring unwanted attention onto himself, and his mother often told him to look ready for anything, and most importantly, smile. Although when relaxing he prefers to wear more loose, casual clothing.

Weight/Height?

7 stone, 5ft, 7in

Character Traits?

Likes?

Luthais likes to read and write poetry, as well as hoping to find someone to share his poetic calling with, in a romantic sense. Like, finding a muse, so to say. Not that he needs inspiration. As well as that he enjoys listening to music and fixing things, as he tends to feel emotionally connected to a lot of inanimate objects, for some reason or another. On a side note, his particular favourite genre is horror, and most things associated with it. So if you see him smiling for no reason, that may be it.

Dislikes?

Luthais doesn’t like water, more specifically deep water, and therefore hates swimming. A thing that really annoys him is ‘overly’ happy people as he struggles to understand how someone can be that happy, and as well as that, he’s not too keen on happy endings, be it film or literature. The only thing that truly gets at him however is when people ask him how he’s feeling, repeatedly.

Habits?

The only noticeable habits Luthais has is his insistency to ensure doors are properly closed, and that he is never late.

Personality?

Luthais is a genuine person, which means he’s truly himself; sarcastic, moody and occasionally bored with life. But he tries to contain his inner thoughts on society and not overload people with his opinions and whatnot, though at times he does give little remarks and is known to annoy people on occasion, and simply smile. He’s the type of individual who is loyal, and will do anything to please others; even if he doesn’t like them. However, deep down, Luthais is a person who wants others to like him; and quite frankly, he’s a hopeless romantic at heart. But that’s just the way of Luthais, he’s a little weird and indifferent, and tends to just want to have fun.

- - -

History?

Luthais was born on July 7th in Edinburgh, Scotland. He was the only child, and son, to Alastair Rae and Aileen Ann.

When thinking about it, Luthais comes from a not-so-rich, but not-so-poor family. While living with his mother, who works tirelessly to support to pair on a daily basis, he had to come to terms with losing his father at an early age. Though not living on the streets, nor heavily in poverty, they weren’t rich, and without his father the duo quickly suffered too an extent that meant they weren’t living as easily as they had been for years.

For the most part during his childhood, life was pleasant and enjoyable; and leaving little to complain over. Though back then his father was around, working as a detective, and soon died one night while out on the job handling a murder enquiry. Though his father wasn’t murdered, and the pair had to get over it and continue their lives from then on.

Some years later, Luthais decided to attend Masuta Academy a year ago after realizing his mother was struggling a little, and how he needed to do something with his life, much to his mothers approval.

Birthplace/ Ethnicity?

Scotland/ White/ Scottish

- - -

Other?

At times he may get extremely freaked out over little things, such as saliva.

He is also friends with Daileass, as they live on the same street.

Luthais is bisexual and likes boys and girls equally.

Hopes to become a well-known poet.

Hold it…Hold it…Keep goiiiiiing…Now release.

Luthais breathed heavily as he sighed, having been up for a few hours now. Weather it was down to excitement, or nerves, he wasn’t sure why his body tingled a little, his heart beating quickly, and of course as to why his palms were a little sweaty. But quite frankly, when he got down to it, Luthais didn’t care that much. As usual he’d gotten little sleep, yet was still expected to perform at full function and carry on as if everything was perfect.

For a few moments he quietly gazed at his tired persona evident in the mirror, and noticed how knackered he truly looked. Despite all his attempts to hide his ever more noticeable black eyes it all felt rather pointless, although Luthais never gave up on hope. His mother often nagged him before he left the house if anything was out of place, as being a student at Masuta Academy was an important thing.

“Ah, well. Can’t do much else, though don’t suppose I look too bad.” He muttered quietly.

Quickly he fluffed his hair a little, it’s dull grey tangles flopping down against his shoulders. Often, at times, his mother would suggest to tie it up somewhat, though Luthais was determined to seem more manly, and not so much flimsy. After all, he wasn’t the most bulkiest of guys, nor held much else.

Glancing around his eyes caught note of the time, remembering at that moment that classes began at eight o’clock, and also realizing it was just leaving seven o’clock. Dammit. Though being up early, that didn’t mean he enjoyed it, nor wished to spend most of his time at the Academy. Alas, however, today was his first day back at Masuta Academy and showing up late was just out the question, despite everything.

“Right, that’s me off! Bye!” He called while stumbling out his room, trying to be quick and elegant, but evidently loosing to his speed. Thankfully he caught himself and managed not to fall, while heading down the hall and dashing out the front door. The boy had been up that early that he’d been ready to leave for almost four hours in advance, as when he did eventually leave some of his anxiety slightly lifted from his shoulders, and Luthais actually got a little excited.

Before, his mother reminded him to grab his backpack, or else he would’ve been halfway down the street before noticing. And with that little problem taken care of, Luthais mentally prepared himself for the day ahead. He knew already he would have to be someone’s butler, and could only hope that individual was nice. As he himself hadn’t really ever been a butler, or anyone of that sort. It was sure to be, if anything, an interesting day…

--
Daileass Taveon
--

You are kind, you are nice, and you are caring. Remember that!

Dail mentally nagged himself to no end, trying to remember his manners and above all else, remembering to just be nice. His mind often done the talking, and usually left himself to deal with the consequences later on. But now was the time to get a grip on all these nasty habits, and seal them away, forever.

Smile. You remember what that is, right? Just don’t bear the fangs.

He stared adoringly at himself in the mirror, eyeing up his entire attire before pulling away and pacing through his room in a rather panicked manner. Though it wasn’t the whole first day scenario that got to him, it was the fact that he lacked a degree of self control when it came to being…nice. In a way he felt sorry for whoever would take him as their butler, not that he was deliberately hard to handle, but rather he was just stubborn, and didn’t take kindly to orders, to an extent.

Deep breaths. Count to ten. Walk it off.

Ah, if only those self-help methods actually worked. Dail put quite a few calming down exercises to the test, and won. But that was the problem. He wasn’t suppose to! Shaking his head he quickly ignored all thoughts of doubt that lingered within him, and instead thought of more happier occasions.

In amongst getting everything ready he occasionally patted down his pale shaded hair, trying to keep it neat, though loose. If that could ever make sense. At times he’d sneak back to the mirror and try to perfect expressions, mainly smiling and laughing. After all, he wanted to seem normal.

“Alright, it’s time,” Dail huffed with slight insecurity. “No time like the present.”

He picked up his backpack and threw it over his shoulder, gripping it tightly with one hand, while resting the other in one of his pockets. After ensuring all was not forgotten, and that he was prepared for any given scenario, the boy left his room confidently and headed for the door, briefly in-between saying his goodbyes to his grandfather, before eventually leaving the house entirely and making his way to Masuta Academy…

“Yes, mother.” Ackley sighed, repeating the same line over and over.

“Now, you promise to take it easy and not overexcite yourself?” His mother asked, showing an overly concerned nature that was surely growing annoying to the boy. However, he was use to it. Very.

“Again, yes mother.”

“If you need help you’ll ask for it, won’t you?”

“Uh-huh.”

“Call us if it gets too much?”

“Of course.”

“And--”

“Mother, enough. I’m a big boy and can take care of myself.” He silenced the woman swiftly, patting her shoulder softly before escaping her grasp once more. “I must go now.”

It was nearing quarter past seven, and Ackley knew his mother would hold him there for another week if she could get away with it. But fortunately he had grown use to this and often managed to escape, or else he feared he may not have a life, dare say if his mother got her way.

“Bye mother, and say my goodbyes to father.” Unfortunately his father was away on business, and even more unfortunate that his mother was not. Pulling his dark toned hat down tightly against his skull the boy made sure to button up his matching coat, that was too dark and rather lifeless. Combined with his pale skin complexion he was almost represented as a mini grim reaper, to others amusement.

“Goodbye.” Finally, he was leaving.

The chauffer came and escorted the boy to their family car, which would be used to drive him to Masuta Academy, despite living rather close by. Hopping inside he got comfortable, quickly sorting himself out and ensuring he had everything. Although it was hard for him not to forget anything as his mother constantly appeared with things for the boy to take with him. Like now, as he dauntingly stared at the woman running up to the to car with books in hand. Oh no…

“Honey, you forgot these?” She sighed while opening the door widely, before ramming the books into his backpack. “You know you can’t sleep without a good story, silly. And I know how you adore your romance ones.”

Ackley blushed a little before closing the door, making sure his mother was not in his personal space anymore. After that he faked a smile and looked to the driver.

“Drive! Quickly now!” He snapped, still bearing an awkward smile. The car sped off immediately as it headed for Masuta Academy…

The entrance was rather busy when Luthais arrived promptly at the Academy, perhaps too busy for his liking. He wasn’t the type who craved the attention of crowds, and as result he often dreaded any form of first days at any place. But alas, he could not waste time complaining and simply got on with it.

He knew that there was an assembly for all new students and first years, however he had already suffered his, and thankfully did not need a repeat of the event. It was nothing dreadful, he just got bored.

Occasionally he’d wave and wish pleasant greetings on a few individuals as he traveled down through the halls, only recognizing a few students from the previous year. As he, himself, wasn’t overly popular though not someone you’d easily forget. Although, the only thing on his mind was the fact he’d become someone’s butler, though not just anyone’s. He’d been lucky to avoid being a butler last year, though expected this time things would change.

Then again, the thought of being a butler wasn’t so bad, he just wanted someone who’d treat him equally, and not of the lower class from which he was born from. And yet, if that did ever happen, Luthais wasn’t sure how he’d react to being treated so badly.

Having nothing better to do he lingered around the Auditorium, taking the chance to see the new faces that would be hovering around the Academy, and of who would be in his classes, if any.

--
Daileass Taveon
--

Daileass Taveon, don’t you dare frown!

Ah, he could hear his grandfather’s voice nagging him already, and he’d only just reached the entrance of the Academy. Then again, he needed all the advice he could get. His face was struggling to maintain a simple smiley expression, as it so desperately wanted to retreat back into it’s usual frowny one. Despite knowing he shouldn’t.

Smile, make it seem natural. Yes, thaaaat’s it! Nod and smile, keep walking!

He’d overheard the mentioning of an assembly and assumed that was his first point of matter, after noticing a few other students going along that way in which the Auditorium lay. Taking that, he obediently followed the students, though kept a slight distance, and made his way to the Auditorium.

I wonder who’ll be my master, or mistress…

Of course that was something that lay heavily on his mind, the knowing of who his master, or even mistress would be, and more importantly what were they like? It was going to be tuff to obey and take orders, especially if the individual was a slave driver. Oh, hell no! Dail wouldn’t accept that.

As he quietly crept into the Auditorium Dail made no effort in socializing, and generally kept himself to himself. Then again the place was only just starting to fill up, there were more expect to come. And if anything his nerves were playing havoc with him, and he just needed a few minutes of peace and quiet.

Now, relax…

--

The car pulled over and slowly came to a halt outside of the Masuta Academy, the chauffer seeing to the younger master’s door and opening it politely, before the young boy stepped out at his own pace.

“Oh dear, it’s busy.” Ackley muttered to himself.

Crowds didn’t bother him too much, it was the fact he was lacking in height so to say, and therefore no one would spot him easily. In turn, he wouldn’t be able to find anyone either, and it was in times like this that his mother was useful. She’d never let anyone step in on the boy. Oh dear…

“I will ensure your belongings are securely delivered to your room, young master,” The chauffer said softly over the boy’s shoulder. “Goodbye, and pleasant thoughts be with you.”

The man left and returned to the car swiftly, before driving off and doing as he had explained. As even though Ackley lived close by he was adamant to have freedom and live here at the Academy, especially as his parents would be gone for a long period of time, and that his loyal grandmother could use a little holiday on her own. Which in turn left the boy to his own devices, despite having never coped on his own without family. This would indeed be quite the challenge for him.

“Well, better get started.” He huffed and took a deep breath to calm his thoughts.

After spending a few minutes thinking he remembered that he would need to find a butler, or even a maid to help him through the time spent at the Academy. Though that would be another challenge all on it’s own. With a deep sigh he swung his backpack over his shoulders before setting off into the Academy, while trying not to trip anyone up. Eh, well…

While moping round the halls he overheard a few students muttering about an assembly of some sort, for new students amongst others, and thought this would be ideal for him to investigate. He was, after all, new to the Academy and knew very little of where to go, and who to know. With this he set off to the Auditorium with high hopes of finding someone like himself; clueless, but rich. Given the situation.

It hadn’t took long for him to find the Auditorium, and with nervous breaths he cautiously entered before seating himself down somewhere and clutching his backpack tightly…

Luthais watched as the new girl came and feel, tragic. If a first wasn’t bad enough then surely this was ten times worse on all levels; the embarrassing, cringing emotion that surely no doubt filled up inside the girl. How awful. Then again, no one was helping her. Despite having all the money in they world not one of the rich brats would lend a hand to a fellow wealthy individual, which really did some up quite a few of the students in this Academy. Some were selfish, to a great extent.

“Poor girl,” Luthais sighed as he stood against the wall, and only just noticing he, himself wasn’t helping either. Which made him wonder as to what butler he would be like. “Pity.”

It was then at another student caught his eye, a boy who seemed to lack self control. Ouch. Whoever that gut was, well, he would certainly provide some amusing moments, to say the least. But then, what was he doing now? Oh, trying to calm down by looks of it. If only. Taking that as an invite Luthais causally strolled over to the unstable lad and lay a hand on his chair, just touching the edge of his shoulder.

“You know, that sort of language won’t be tolerated at this Academy,” Luthais muttered quietly to the boy, as if he didn’t already know. “Best not let teachers hear you, you know?” He laughed before removing his hand. “Obviously your new here, unlike me. But you know, your quite funny. Just saying.”

--
Daileass Taveon
--

Dail tried to ignore the echoing of laughter that quickly filled the room, but alas curiosity won over his frail mind and quickly he found himself looking for the sort of amusement. And fortunately it was rather obvious, the sit of the girl on the floor was indication enough and the boy bared a smile, at least he did until his conscience kicked in. It took him a moment to realize how wrong it was, and that no one offered a hand to help. Perhaps, just maybe, this was his chance! An opportunity to be nice, for once.

Do it. Do it. Do it.

“E-Excuse me!” Dail yelled aloud, stumbling off his seat. Unfortunately gathering all the eyes of students in the room, which made the boy feel somewhat nervous. “L-Let me help!”

Dail made his way over to the girl on the floor, stilling feeling a bit embarrassed at the whole thing. Placing both hands on either of her arms he pulled the damsel onto her feet, with great effort. He wasn’t sure how she’d react, or even if she’d be pleased of grateful. But at least he could feel good about himself, that was, if anything, the main point of helping.

“Silly girl, that’s no way to enter a room,” Dail mumbled to the girl, unsure if she were even listening. Despite it, he continued, “No thanks required. Just don’t fall again.”

--

--

Ackley watched the whole event unfold, and made sure to keep himself well out of it. Though indeed he felt somewhat bad for the girl, it was her own fault and he didn’t want any attention brought onto himself. So for that matter he kept still in his seat, clutching his backpack as he did.

“Oh dear, this day should go… well.” He sighed.

Turning his gaze away from the boy Luthais casually glanced around as new students began to flood the room, literally. He wasn’t one for crowds, though most of the mob seemed busy with the fallen girl. Thankfully, as that meant less hassle for him, should such a thing arose. However, in particular he noticed a small little boy, believing at first he was too young for this Academy. Though perhaps that meant he was a genius, or simply misplaced. The person in questioned seemed rather soft and gentle, which added to Luthais’s beliefs he were a child, though he was mistaken. By the looks of it he was rich and trying to seem older, much to Luthais’s amusement…

Daileass Taveon
--

“Nonsense, it’s my job to help people. It‘s what butlers do, right?” Dail muttered in response to the girl as he sensed her slight embarrassment, though he himself felt none. Then again, he hadn’t given the situation that much though and only done what he believed to have been right, which for once, was actually right. “Your new here I take it, and rather rich by the looks of it.” It was always easy to tell the rich from the… rags, so to say. Not that you saw many poor folk falling around the place, compared to the wealth, such as now.

He noticed the other girl soon emerging from the crowd and briefly looked her over, assuming she too were new and of the same year as them. It seemed some nice people actually did exist in this Academy, and by the looks of this girl she was rich too, as well. “Pleased to meet you,” He said politely, before shifting his gaze back onto the original, pretty girl. “And you too, I am pleased to meet. I wouldn’t worry about all those people looking and laughing, as you’ll likely never speak to them anyway. Though in future watch where you step, alright?”

--
Ackley Bee
--

Ackley watched as students came and went, each keeping to their own and looking a little nervous, if not scared, a little. He, himself, was just getting over his rather agitated state while leaning back into his chair. For the most part no one seemed to bother him, then again maybe they didn’t notice him, sadly. Though occasionally a few did smile at him, but nothing more…

Independence inhaled, his breath coming in rather shakily, that is until a male came up behind him and just barely touched his shoulder. It spooked him just a bit, and he tilted his head up at the male to look at him carefully. A quiet mutter came from his lips in response, before breathing in and speaking a bit louder. "Thank you, I think. Mm, yeah, I'm new here, so I feel awkward. Yes, I know, but sometimes I can't really hold it back. It's one of the reasons I was sent here anyways; to learn to how to "fix" myself."

The male leaned back and sighed, dropping his legs back onto the ground with a clack and a wince. Scooping up his bag, he set it back on his lap and his gaze strayed up towards the ceiling; when was the freakin' person going to come in to explain everything? He was tired of waiting, and he was just generally tired of everything right now.

Again, mornings sucked.

Once he heard a voice muttering form behind himself, Luthais promptly turned his gaze round and looked curiously as the lad below. “Fix yourself?” He questioned. “Really? Can’t see why someone like you would need fixing, I mean, your so weeeeell accustomed in the art to socializing,” Of course he was kidding, after witnessing the boys earlier outburst it was quite obvious as to what he meant. But then, of course, Luthais had other matters that needed attending. “Before I forget, you wouldn’t happen to know anyone in need of a butler? As sadly, my time has come to give in to these ways of the wealthy and offer my services. Not that I mind really, as it might be fun to have a master to chase around all day.”

Luthais’s eyes scouted around the room as he eyed up potential masters, though none seemed to stand out to him. As well as that, after seeing little mercy with the wealthy when it came to the damsel falling he really didn’t desire that kind of company. However, the short little boy caught his fancy, mostly as he seemed cute and… different. But that was just his personal thoughts.

--
Daileass Taveon
--

“Yes, I am a butler. One up for hire as it would seem, as I too am new here,” Dail replied to the girl obediently. “And thank you, I try to look my best, even if I am a mere butler. However, for one being as rich you don’t seem as… bad, so to say, like many others who are clearly, as you put it, jerks.” He bowed a little before regaining his balance and eyeing up the boy who appeared not too long after. At first the lad seemed odd, mainly as he gave the girl a pear, which was something he had not seen before, or really ever. It was quite… unusual. The whole thing made Dail snigger a little.

“Boy, if you desire the girls affection then surely chocolates are more appropriate, along with flowers as well, if I am correct,” He muttered while adjusting his glasses a little. It was clear that this boy liked this girl, and in a way it was quite sweet, if not unexpected. “Aw, what a cute couple you two would make.”

Dail teased the two a little before remembering his manners, so to speak. “I never got your names, either of you,” He said quickly. “My name is Daileass Taveon, though Dail for short.”

--
Ackley Bee
--

Ackley saw some more students enter the room, though he himself was growing tired of waiting, and rather wished for things to get moving. After all, his family was always running around here and there, and no one ever waited. It was quite new to the boy, and added to his nerves unfortunately… He wondered when things would start, and what would happen. Where would he be going, who would he know. It was all a little daunting…

Haruo
It took a bit for him to remember the most important part of the morning. Oh yeah. I need to find a butler or a maid... Does it matter which? There was a clump of people off to one side, but he couldn't see what the commotion was about. He decided he didn't care. Now then. He spotted a silver-haired boy. He seemed nice. He might be a butler. Either that or he knew someone that was one. Haru considered talking to the bot. Okay, I'm going to go up to him and say 'Hello there. My name is Haruo Sato. Do you know of any available butlers or maids?' Sounds good. Here we go... He walked as confidently as he could over to the boy. He took a deep breath, then said, "Eh... hi."

So close.

Luthais blinked and turned to the small boy, of whom he had been admiring earlier. If anything it was surprising to see him so close, and even more surprising to see how small this little fellow actually was. In a way it was tempting to kneeling down to him, just for amusement, though Luthais managed to resist the temptation and simply smile. “Why hello there,” He said politely. “Ah, another new face here I take it? Must be your first time ever here, no doubt,” His eyes carefully watched over the boy and took in his more finer details, such as his rather large, and quite cute eyes. “No need to worry so much, not everyone in this place is scary, well, most aren’t give or take a few.” Luthais laughed a little.

“Oh, as I asked my delightful friend here, I was wondering if you knew anyone in need of a butler?” He asked keenly. “I have no mater nor mistress as of yet, though no doubt will at some point after today.”

He simply smiled and watched the young girl leave, before turning to face the boy. “Greetings, Eliab,” He said softly and took the boys hand firmly into his own. “Yes, quite. It is good to see you as well, though now I think we best be taking our seats, right?” Dail questioned and glanced at the rows of seats that were placed before them in an orderly fashion. “If I am correct to assume, you are new as well? Either way, let’s go and sit ourselves down before we get into trouble.” He chuckled briefly and smiled. Releasing the boys hand he turned and began to stroll off towards the seats, where he sat himself down and patiently awaited for other students to settle themselves down.

“My name is Luthais Rae,” He responded and took the boys hand in his own, shaking it briefly before releasing it and resting his hands against his hips. Perhaps it seemed his luck had changed, and fate had presented him with that of which he desired; a master. “And I need a master, such as yourself,” He added and smiled down at the small boy. “It is nice to meet you Haru, you must be new here as well, if I am correct? If so, then allow me to show you the ways of this Academy, for I know it well.” Luthais shifted his gaze slightly and noticed a man entering the room, which could only mean things were about to being.

“Say, I think we best be taking our seats, Haru,” He said and quickly sat himself down on the seat behind him, doing so he also tugged on the boys arm and motioned for Haru to sit down at his side.

Luthais had managed to keep awake through the headmasters looooooooooong speech, just. His attention span was usual short, and decreasing by the days. However he was a nag for detail and neatness, despite his carefree nature. When the man took his leave Luthais sat up and turned to Haru, smiling. “Well, now that’s over with you want to explore the grounds?” He asked quietly and leaned in closer to the boy. "We don’t have classes today so it would ideal to find your bearings quickly, and then things wont seem so daunting,” He laughed a little. “Besides, ain’t got nothing better to do.”

Dail quietly listened as the man on stage talked, obviously proving his high status within this Academy, which was expected seeing as this man was their headmaster. Léon Croisseux, that was his name. Dail made sure to have it memorized for any possible future needs of obtaining it. As his words trailed on he keenly took in the dark haired individuals words, at first been actively awake, though nearing the end his eyes were almost falling together. It was a lengthy speech, and Dail never did good when having to sit for so long. However though, it quickly came to an end as he noticed the man leaving, which could only mean his time was done and they were free to do as they wished. But then, what would Dail do?

“I still have no master, nor a mistress to be partnered with,” He muttered quietly to himself whilst in the mist of his thoughts. It was likely seeming he’d be at the headmasters office later today, with no authority to call his own, nor having a partner to continue life with. If anything, it was embarrassing.

He rose from his chair and watched as few other students set about their days, some exploring their dorms while others ventured about the Academy. Either way he was still lost, and didn’t have a dorm as he lived close by, thankfully.

Dammit. Everyone seems so confident and know where their going!

Dail hated when others understood something he didn’t, it often made him feel stupid or weird, as if he was left out of something that was important. It didn’t help when he saw others partnering up so quickly either, and his heart began to beat a little faster as his anxiety began to settle in. Just then, though, his eyes caught sight of a familiar face which eased his frantic nature a little.

“Katherine! Kath--” He yipped before stumbling down a few steps. “Kaaaaatheriiiiiinnneeeee!”

He hopped down the last step before walking over, calmly, to the girl. He didn’t want to scare her off, well, not so much. “D-Do you know where your going?” The boy asked with a slight stutter. “I-I mean I don’t really, and, well, was going to look around a little.”

Ackley Bee
--

Ackley stood up slowly from his seat once the headmaster had left, seeing this his opportunity to explore and perhaps find his dorm. Though he had no clue where anything was, nor who was who, and wasn’t really one to ask for help. He didn’t need any, so to say. Well, no, that was a lie. Ackley was very lost though feared the thought of talking to other students, especially as so many seemed rather ruthless and cold, and not many helped that girl earlier. What would happen if he fell? Would people laugh?

He shuddered. Who cares I won’t trip! Hopefully.

Shaking off his slight worry the boy slowly ventured down the stairs, making sure not to fall in the process, before making his way out of the Auditorium and deciding to find his dorm.

Luthais smiled as the boy seemed eager to explore, to such an extent he warmly smiled down at the boy and secretly awed over his large eyes. “I am glad you are eager, so we best get going,” He said and got to his feet promptly, before turning and pointed to the exit door. “Alrighty, and is there anywhere in particular your wanting to see? Anywhere you’ve heard of that triggers your interest?” Luthais questioned before taking the lead and prepared to guide the boy safely down the steps, for he was a little short and needed the help, or at least Luthais assumed, and even hoped.

“Actually no, girlie,” Dail replied. “I was merely enquiring if you knew where you were going, for I am going to go exploring, that is all,” As if he needed a girl to show him around? Pfft. Dail would never live it down, personally. For he was a boy of principle, well, the most part for his own morals. “I am sorry if I troubled you, and must be going. For I cannot waste time in finding my partner, and I need to know this Academy like the back of my hand, so I suppose I’ll say my goodbyes,” He paused for a moment and just smiled. “Goodbye.”

Dail lightly passed by the girl before heading out of the auditorium, as he really was not one to waste time, especially on girls. He didn’t tend to care for such matters, nor desired much of a romance with anyone. If anything, Dail functioned solo.

“The library, huh?” Luthais questioned in an amusing way. “You some sorta bookworm type? Not that I mind, you know, just that’s the kind of people you’d find in a library,” Not that Luthais would overly know who you’d find in a library, as he wasn’t exactly a member of the place. Not that he had anything against it, he just… hadn’t found the time to properly go there, until now that was. “No worries, I know where it is. We just got to go up some stairs, make some turns and go down a hall. Sounds simple, right?” He teased and looked to the smaller boy. “Just be careful went leaving this place, there’s a lot of people leaving.”

For a little safety measure Luthais took hold of the boys hand, as he didn’t want him getting lost, nor trampled on, if that should ever happen.

Dammit. You idiot of an idiot!

Dail had not gotten far from the auditorium before his mind began pestering him, again. As he’d let his odd bent emotions drive his mind, and no less speak ill to the sweet girl. Dammit. He didn’t like how he handled the situation, nor could he let it lay like that. Well, maybe he could’ve, but since it was his first day he felt this need to get everything right, and not to mention Dail went out of his way to help that girl before, and therefore he should’ve realized she was not one to push away in fear of being intimidated.

He was outside in the hall as students left the auditorium, one of them being Katherine as he watched her pass by and not even notice him, with good reason. However, all matters aside an apology was due and Dail would need to beg his way into the girls forgiveness, maybe. And with that in mind he decided to fall her, though seeming a bit creepy to do so, he did it anyway and took her trail into the cafeteria, where he spotted her standing.

Perfect.

“Katherine, wait,” He called, a hint of desperation evident in his voice. “Please…”

Dail didn’t want to seem needy nor desperate, though he was, in a sense. Guilt racked his mind terribly and to have this on his mind was something else, mostly as the girl did not deserve it.

“Look, I’m sorry. I misunderstood you, alright…” He paused briefly. “I mean, you were trying to be nice and I… reacted badly, I know, don’t nag me on that issue. But, yes, I’m sorry.”

He fell silent for a moment and looked to the girl, awaiting her answer.

“But,” He broken his momentary silence. “Let me make it up to you or something?”

As they made their way to the library Luthais made sure to keep a secure hold on Haru, as he felt the boy was his priority at the moment, and most of all he was responsible for him. Well, at least he thought so and nevertheless would continue to think so.

Once at the library Luthais released Haru and allowed the boy some freedom of his own, especially as Luthais didn’t want to seem clingy, nor bossy, or even obsessive. He took a few steps forward before fully strolling over to a bookcase fill with books, no less. “What’s yer favourite genre?” He asked and glanced over his shoulder. “Mines is horror, mostly. I tent to like indifferent weird stuff, especially things that really make you think. What about you?” Luthais casually shifted his position and moved around the different rows of books, his mind wandering.

“I also like poetry, and write my own too,” He muttered mindlessly. “Mostly romantic ones and kinda things like that, oddly enough.”

“Me? Your butler? Well…sure.” He wasn’t about to throw away a perfectly good opportunity, especially as he was looking for a master, or even a mistress. If anything if was rather good of the girl, considering all that was said before. “I mean, if your positive your wanting to take me on as your butler? I’d hate for you to think you had to,” Dail continued and gave a slight bow towards the girl, knowing that is was very good of herself to offer such a position to him, after all. “Again, I’m very sorry.”

Within a few moments he quickly took the girls hand and shook it briefly, before letting her go and smiling a little, as he was quite cheerful about finding a mistress. Though it wasn’t how he originally planned, Dail was still glad to have found a mistress. Especially one who was so forgiving.

“I promise I won’t act like that again, especially as it upsets you so much,” He said while trying to smile more, in an attempt to cheer up the girl. “And I am happy to have you as a mistress, since you seem so nice and have a kind nature about you. Perhaps I am very lucky in a way.”

“Y-Yeah…romantic poetry.” Luthais muttered sheepishly while feeling a blush crawling across his cheeks, especially when hearing the small boy giggle. He couldn’t help it, more so when feeling embarrassed slightly after he’d mentioned his own liking of poetry. But then, once it was out, there was no point in denying it, nor ignoring the fact. Especially as he heard Haru say he liked it too.

“It’s just…I like expressing my feelings, you could say. Words are the only real way I know to do this, but I’m not really open about it,” He laughed a little with his blush fading, in the process making himself more at ease around the boy. “I wouldn’t want to be considered a wimpy sort of guy, I guess. So I tend to keep that kind of stuff on the down low, and therefore you won’t mention it, will you?” He looked at Haru curiously, before smiling softly.

He continued to watch the boy further, and noticed him falling to the floor with a book in his hands. For the most part it was a little amusing, but he could see Haru was in slight discomfort. Knowing this Luthais hurried over to the his side and helped the boy gain his balance once more. “Adventure books are cool, though I don’t think getting one is meant to be an adventure all on it’s own,” He chuckled while making sure Haru was alright. “You ok, didn’t hurt much did you?”

“Yeah, I didn’t mean to act that way, but I did,” Dail said softly while looking to the girl. “I have a habit of taking things the wrong way, and therefore responding in the wrong way as well. I don’t mean to, but I do,” He briefly explained though gave the general meaning of his ways. He could only hope she would understand and not hold it against him, well, not always. “I’m here at this Academy to try and not go on as I do, and perhaps all I need is a decent Mistress to keep me in order? Either way, your saddled with me now.”

He laughed a little and simply smiled, feeling a little easier now that things were settled between the two. Especially as now Katherine liked him, instead of hating him, and the girl even took him on as a butler! Well, so far so good. “Oh it’s no biggie, you’re my mistress right? I am meant to say nice to you, not that I’m being forced! I mean…” Dail paused briefly. “I’m just being nice.” He added quickly and fell silent for a few moments, with awkward smile filling his features slowly.

“As your butler I’m mean to do as you say, and do whatever I can to please you,” Dail muttered whilst in thought. “Saying that, is there anywhere you want to go? Any place you want to see or something? Perhaps your hungry, or thirsty?”

Haru
Although his back still hurt a bit, he giggled despite himself as Luthais helped him up. He wasn't sure why either. He was giddy today. Very giddy. He straightened out his shirt and looked up at Luthais. "Nah, I'm fine. I forgot to mention I'm a bit of a klutz too." He laughed softly here, then added, lowering his voice ever so, "And I won't mention the poetry thing if you don't want me to. I wouldn't want anyone doing that to me, after all." Haru smiled a bit brighter and inspected the slightly worn book in his hands.

Mel
Mel was bored. Bored and irked. So, it appeared she had to find a master or mistress before the end of the day. Well. She'd better get to work. Mel was absolutely bursting with glee. Positively bursting. Not.

She sighed heavily as she left the auditorium, immediately getting jostled by the rushing crowd. "Damn rich punks. I'm not sure if I'll be able to last here..." she muttered under her breath as she shifted through the crowd, going nowhere in particular, walking rather fast, as she rather accustomed to doing.

As she was silently fuming about the rudeness of the majority of the people that ran into her, she found herself crashing right into a taller blonde boy, causing her to stumble backwards with a startled cry, almost falling completely backwards. Well, that was a catch of walking fast.

“Klutz too?” He questioned with a wide smile. “Oh well, we’ll see if we can manage to keep you squarely on your feet, if nothing else.” Luthais looked down at the boy and smiled more widely, as really, he didn’t know what else to do. He found this little fellow to be rather amusing, especially for all the qualities that the young boy tried to ignore of himself. When the boy mentioned the poetry thing he couldn’t help but sigh a little and give a nod. “Thank you.” He said softly.

Luthais looked down to the book in Haru’s hand and curiously eyed at it. “What’s that?” He questioned and poked the object once. “Must’ve been worth all that hassle, eh?” He chuckled a little before resting a hand against the boys shoulder. “If you ever need held just ask, don’t be afraid. I won’t say no.”

Dail curiously watched as the girl took his hand, a faint blush sweeping across his features while she did so. Though, it was mainly due to his lack of socializing. Was it sad he’d never been this close to a girl? Never mind a boy, or much else. When Katherine looked to his eyes he just blinked in turn before feeling his hand free to move again. Perhaps, maybe, he’d gotten her wrong in a way. He’d guessed she was sweet and all that, but the girl help a much more depth to her yet, surprisingly.

“Oh trust me, I’ll likely say what I think, no doubt,” He sighed a little before sheepishly smiling a few moments later. “But I’ll try to refrain myself, in due course.” he laughed a little before looking to Katherine silently for a moment. That was, until her stomach growled and broke the silence.

Nodding a little the butler obediently followed the girl as they headed for the food line. It was weird believing he had a mistress, and probably more unbelieving to those who knew him. “Don’t worry Katherine, as your butler I will protect you from harm, and ensure no useless boys harass you in any way, shape or form,” Dail said with a hint of determination. “For I am, your butler.”

Haru
"Oh, this?" he asked, holding up the book. He laughed slightly, turning a little pink. Haru held the book to his chest. "Prince and the Pauper," he murmured, smiling slightly. "I've never finished it, and I don't own a copy. So I've decided to finish it here. Might as well." He raised his gaze from the old book to Luthais. "Do you have a favorite book, Luthais? I don't, but I was just wondering if you might."

Mel
Oh gosh. Rich kid. Mel could tell just by looking at him. Ugh. She shuddered a bit. Polite. Be polite, Mel. She put on the most genuine smile she could muster and looked up at the blonde boy. "I should apologize," she said. "That's what I get for walking so fast. It's a habit of mine." She noticed he appeared to be looking around. "Are you looking for someone?" she inquired, head tilted slightly to the side.

“Ah, Prince and the Pauper. I’ve heard of that,” Luthais muttered in response. “It’s about two boys who look alike, well, they’re almost identical I think. One’s rich, a prince no less, while the other is… not so rich, and they switch places before having to explain, which in turn makes then switch again, to how it was originally. If that’s right,” He smiled before hearing Haru’s question, which made him think a little as to if he had a book of such. “Well..Actually I do have a favourite book, it's called Love Water. A story of a man who is a geisha and must appear as a woman, but he falls in love with a rich client who eventually gets the man free of working as a geisha." He paused for a moment. "It's a sweet story and that's why I like it."

“Alright, I won’t go overprotective,” Dail assured the girl before grabbing a black tray and following her down along the food buffet. For a moment he just stared at the food at a little dauntingly, as he, himself, was not one to eat much, and rarely ate breakfast. The boy could go hours without eating, but that was bad of him to do so, and really he needed to break that little habit. It was probably why he was a bit pale most times, perhaps. “Don’t worry, I’ll refrain from cramping your style, miss. I’ll ensure you have all your freedom and rights whenever in my company.” He added before settling on a bowl of fruit, as he thought this would make him a little more perkier, and it was healthy! He handed over the money due before walking over to Katherine.

At that moment a boy from earlier approached, though he seemed nice enough and therefore Dail let him say his piece. Once he finished he hurried off, rather quickly, which made Dail ponder a little. It was a little amusing however. “I knew he liked you,” Dail muttered towards Katherine with a slight smirk. “That, and it was a bit obvious. But nevertheless, it’s quite adorable don’t you think?” He teased a little before giving a slight sigh. “Anyway, guess we should sit down? Unless you want to pursue the boy and declare your also undying love for him? As your butler, I would help without doubt.”

Haru
Haru lowered the book and gazed up, fascinated, at Luthais. “Really?” he inquired, genuine intrigue lacing his voice. “Sounds sweet. That reminds me; I once read a good book called Memoirs of a Geisha. I don’t know if you’ve read it, but it’s about a little girl who’s sold into a place, I forget what it’s called… starts with an “o”? Anyways, she’s sold there to become a geisha, but there’s this other geisha who’s always trying to hinder her progress, but in the end she becomes very successful anyways. I hope I’m not boring you, but I really liked that one. My favorite part was when the mean geisha was driven out, but that’s just me rambling.” He ended with a weak giggle and a small pink flush to his cheeks. Talking about books often embarrassed him, even though Luthais had already proven he was less judging than most. It still unnerved him, albeit slightly.

Mel
“Hm…” Mel crossed her arms and looked up, pondering. After a second or two, she turned her brown gaze back to the blond guy. She sighed and shrugged. “Well. I am a maid, so I guess it’s my job to help people. I’m Melanie Colburn. Just call me Mel, though.” She smiled again, then looked around. “Your sister… she might be outside.” Without waiting for him, she strode off towards the doors, stepping outdoors and gazing about. She let out a soft, satisfied grunt as she spotted a golden-haired girl sitting on a bench. She pointed her out to the blond guy, who she assumed had been following. “That her?”

“Oh, she was sold into a okiya,” Luthais piped up. “And yes, I’ve read it. That was a favourite of mine as well, but what I liked most was their appearance. I think geisha’s are really beautiful, especially with their makeup and how their hair is done. Not to mention their fancy kimonos,” He smiled contently and gazed sweetly down at the boy who seemed to enjoy reading like he, himself, did. But then Luthais knew that, why else would the boy come to a library first? It made him smile more widely towards Haru. “No, your not boring me. It’s actually refreshing to find someone who enjoys reading like I do, you know?” Luthais replied while noticing a slight flush against the boys cheeks. In a way it was rather cute, if nothing else. “Sometimes I hang around in the library if no one else is here,” He muttered a little to the boy. “That, or I just stay in my room at home. Either way I’ll be surrounded by books, who I know appreciate my presence and care I show towards them.”

Following his mistress Dail continued over and sat down at their chosen table, though he couldn’t help but worry over the girl. Setting his tray down he glanced aimlessly at it, before blinking and looking to Katherine once she had sat down. “Sorry, I don’t meant to intrude on your more personal stuff, like with that whole boy issue,” He said softly and began to smile a little. “I know you don’t exactly know him, since you only just met the boy today, and therefore I think getting t know him first was a wise decision. One that I wish most girls would make rather than simply giving into a boy’s desire.”

Staring back at his bowl of fruit Dail sighed quietly. Though it looked fresh and delicious his appetite had gone, again. However, he was determined to eat a bit of it at least and slowly ate a piece of apple before looking to the girl once more. “You said you were trapped at home? That doesn’t sound fun, I guess. Then again, I was the type who never left home,” He laughed a little to the thought. “I hardly ever went out, unless my grandfather managed to bribe me into doing it. You see, I wasn’t that social and didn’t desire anyone’s company, which meant I had little friends. I was… odd.”

Haru
The younger boy smiled at Luthais after his last statement. It was really deep. He clutched the book to his chest. "Wow. You really love reading, Luthais. Probably more than I do." He paused and looked down, pursing his lips. "Well, I mean, I love reading a lot. I just don't get a lot of time. My dad always has me studying one thing or another. I mean, I guess it counts as reading sometimes, but it's nothing I wanna read." He blew out air in an exasperated sigh and tapped his foot against the floor. "He's really bossy sometimes. And I get why. I mean, I'm the oldest and all. Anyways, I guess I just had to squeeze in a book or two between lessons or something." He looked up and smiled softly again. "Try doing that with four little kids running around." Haru all of a sudden felt self conscious again. His smile slowly disintegrated. With a nervous laughs, he added, "Sorry. I talk too much."

Mel
She was taken aback by the words exchanged by the siblings. She pitied the girl and watched her sadly as she walked away. Mel shook her head slightly. Her and Christian never yelled at each other like that. Never. Mel crossed her arms and looked up at the blonde boy, whose gaze had lost its intensity, leaving a lost, almost lonely look in its place. Mel felt sorry for the two. All of a sudden, she wasn't sure what to say. "Um... I'm sorry about that..." she muttered.

“My dad use to read to me on occasion when I was younger, so I can only assume that is what drove me to read like I do now, while he is gone,” Luthais said softly, and rather quietly. “I mean, well, he’s not gone per say… My dad died when I was younger as well, so reading was a way for me to preoccupy myself and to keep him close to me, I guess,” He bit his lip a little while listening to Haru talk. It felt really nice to hear someone speak to freely about their family, as many often felt awkward around Luthais whenever the mentioning of a father occurred. They just didn’t want him to feel bad, which often annoyed him more than anything. “I often wished I had siblings, though then I’d fear how my mum would cope,” Luthais spoke with a smile towards the boy. “I’m more than enough for her.”

Luthais laughed a little before sighing quietly, his smile still remaining evidently upon his features as his eyes gazed sweetly towards Haru. “Your dad sounds a little strict, though I bet he just wants the best for you. I know mines did, and my dad was a detective,” He muttered a little. “He was always up to mischief and a little stubborn, but I know he wanted me to better myself.”

“I don’t really know many girls,” Dail muttered in response to the girls earlier comment. “But I’m sure I will now that I’m in this Academy, though that’s not why I came here,” He sheepishly chuckled a little before giving a light shrug. His stare soon returned to his bowl of fruit once more before he took a few more bites occasionally, though not much when he did. After a few minutes his eyes slowly wandered back over towards Katherine when hearing her voice again. Though after hearing her voice Dail felt a little bad for the girl, as he never knew how hard it was to be wealthy, well, not so much hard but rather lonely, if anything else. Was Katherine lonely? It was a little funny as Dail often desired to be alone, rather than the opposite.

“Odd is good…” He muttered quietly before fully facing the girl. “My grandfather use to say that whenever I was feeling down about myself, which was quite common apparently though I don’t really remember much from when I was a kid,” Dail sighed a little before taking a few pieces of a banana and eating them. When done he added, “Not that my parents would remember either since they weren‘t around then.” He turned to the girl again and just smiled, as he wasn’t sure whatever to do.

“At night I like to look at the moon and stars,” He randomly muttered without much thought. “And I like to grow flowers as well, during the day. Or I use to, since I don’t really have the time currently. Which is a pity, though I must get back into it…”

Haru
The boy shrugged, mentally savoring Luthais’ smile. “I guess you’re right. But still. It gets depressing every so often. I don’t really like all the pressure.” He sighed, averting his eyes from his friend. “You know, every so often, I wish I didn’t have to be the successor. It stresses me out.” He smiled faintly. “But I know it’ll make my parents happy. It’s their legacy, after all.” The smile grew. “And every so often, I do feel rewarded. I mean, I know all this hard work will pay off sometime in the future, when I’m older like my dad. He worked to get where he got now. I guess… I guess all he wants is to see me turn out the same way.” He shrugged at an attempt to be dismal with the matter, not wanting to freak out Luthais. “Meh, it’s no big deal anyhow.” With that, he sat down in a rather comfy chair and crossed his legs, running his fingertips over the worn cover of the book he’d gotten.

Mel
Was he… sneering at her? What gave that rich punk the right to look down on her that way?!? Mel turned bright red. She had half a mind to punch that stupid blonde square in the gut and walk away then and there. She gradually untensed, realizing that she did need a master. If this was the best she could do… well there was nothing she could do about it. So, trying to stifle her reluctance, she gripped his hand and shook it in agreement.

Luthais stood at the boys side while Haru sat himself down, though Luthais himself was not really a ‘sit down’ type of person, but rather one of those who could stand all day, everyday, weirdly enough. Not that he did of course, who would? He quietly stared upon the book that Haru held before shifting his gaze up to the boy’s face. “I’m sure your parents will be happy with whatever you do,” Luthais said softly with a smile, before changing the flow of discussion. “So, are you staying at one of the dorms? Or do you live close by?” He asked out of keen curiosity. “I live near by so I stay at home with my mum, which is handy I suppose. I’m just a short walk away from this place.”

He thought quietly to himself before resting a hand against the armchair of the boys seat. His eyes focused on Haru more keenly now, as his curious nature grew more. “Say, we never really agreed to anything, definite,” Luthais muttered. “I mean, you needed a butler and I needed a master, but we never said anything more permanently.
