Zenith Empire

Zenith Empire

0 INK

The time is now the year is none. Zenith is a massive Kingdom highly regarded for its Warmth, Colorful citizens, and Extensive Library.

8,447 readers have visited Zenith Empire since Muunchkin created it.

Jaek are listed as curators, giving them final say over any conflict & the ability to clean up mistakes.

Introduction

The year is none and the time is now. After the Great Destruction, any surviving humans fled deep underground and revived what was left of their destructive race. When the world healed itself many generations later, they found that the surface was nothing like the old tales and the things that now inhabited it was like nothing they had ever seen. Then and there, the few Wise Humans left, and their new companions decided that they would lock the world in a Medieval Time period, a time where differences were quickly settled and "An Eye for an Eye" was universally correct. Earth was now a highway for any and all lifeforms that could get there. Humans were dwindling in numbers and their offspring were blending with the new Visitors to Earth. Blood can be traced back to them, although it is tedious. Flora and Fauna is completely different and Seasons have taken on a completely different pattern.

Zenith

Zenith is the boiling pot of all sentient species that now reside on Earth. 260 miles Wide and 360 miles Long, this Kingdom is walled, protected from the dangers of the outside world. The wall protects its people in a circular manner. It may be menacing upon sight but once close to the golden gates, protected by the Zenithian guard, one can see that the gates are constantly opening and closing. Zenithians, Tourists, Merchants, and etc. are allowed to come and go as they please. Zenith received its name from its first King Morbidus. A smart man, he worked with Scholars, Mages and Architects to make sure that his Castle would be built so that every day, when the sun was at its highest point in the sky, Zenith's beacon would have a halo. There are 5 Zones of Zenith. North, South, East, and West. The Factory and Mechanic part of the kingdom is in the Western Corner since the winds of Zenith are constantly blowing from East to West. Ingenious since the winds blow away any type of smog or air pollution. The Other Three Zones are the usual in such a large Kingdom. Residential, Intelligence, Infrastructure. The center of course is the masterpiece that is Zenith Palace. Gleaming like platinum and shimmering at night like the stars, it was built by Zenith's 6th great King, Zachariah. The Old Zenith Palace, much smaller in size, was donated to the Medical department and renovated into a top of the line Infirmary. Attached to the Zenith Palace is a tall tower, wrapped in vines and ivy. In this tower is the Zenithian Court Mage. This mage is a Triclops female by the name of Ithilwen.

Zenith Act ll The Cold War: During the reign of Zenith's 11th Great King, Zeus the Lightning Wielding Human, The North became too small for its inhabitants and they sought to expand to warmer areas. The people of the Cold and Icy Northern Regions were known as Frostarians. Very little was known about them besides they cast aside any kind of Magic, Created Superior forms of Armor; the creation of such a secret within their ranks, and that they were closely tied with Humans. The Frostarians marched upon Zenithian territory and war broke out. Walls were broken, lightning was wielded, and an Elite group of Benders was Chosen by the widely known Mage, Ithilwen. The War raged on for weeks, Both sides too strong to back down or be defeated. In the End, The War Leader of the Frostarians, and The King of Zenith, reached a treaty to live in harmony of one another.

A short while before this war, a secretive race, known as Kiffar came to Zenith and was granted pass to live within its walls. Their presence made Zenithians uneasy for many reasons. First being was the way they entered the premises. Their ships were massive and quiet, simply casting unexpected shadows. Second was their dress code. They could not show any personality through their clothing for they all wore dark colored robes that hid their entire bodies except maybe a glimpse of a face or sight of a hand. Third was their quiet and secluded behavior, only staring at one another before quietly swishing away. Rumors quickly spread of them containing powers untold and unseen before. They were also rumored to have played a major role in holding together the wall of Zenith. But few could attest to this since all citizens were ordered into their homes for safety measures during that time.

Welcome to Zenith. Kingdom of the Sun.

The day was cloudy, grey and wet. Rain fell as fast, skinny drops and lightly pattered on the ground.
On days like this, Fruits, Fishing, Vegetable and Glasswork stalls thrived. The water kept their items fresh, eye-catching and aromatic and brought out customers who craved their merchandise. On rainy days in Zenith, the Water-oriented beings tended to be in greater numbers than the ones who's homelands were Dry, Grassy, Cold, or Sandy. Vendors called to the gurgling and smooth-skinned masses with whistles and clicks of the tongue or just their deals for the rainy day. They clicked their claws or showcased their items, their dark and glassy eyes shimmering as the coin rolled in.

As the vendors prattled and peddled their wares to the peoples of the city a young, but startlingly tall, creature walked through the light drizzle of the day's rain. This being, this man, was seeing the city of Zenith for the first time. It was evident enough in his movements. Each step seemed to hold a small semblance of reverence for the expansive Metropolis that had seemed to establish itself here, almost as natural as the forests around it. His flaming, scaly tail flicked about to and fro, his golden glowing eyes shone brightly beneath the hood of his coat, which seemed to obscure much of his face. He wondered to himself, certainly not lacking in the presence of might to avoid speaking aloud "This city, in all its splendor. I've been looking for somewhere like this for a long, long time." The salamander wandered slightly, stepping out of the rain underneath the awning of a nearby building. He sniffed the air, felt it with his tongue as well "My scent seems to be drowned out by the rains. Good. Maybe then SHE won't be able to track me here." the thought made the draconian feel something he hadn't felt in a long time, since he'd been travelling. Glee. Jubilance, Joy, Happiness, TRIUMPH! These were feelings he had thought lost to his despaired and hunted mind. He was here, he was free for the time being, and he would at least be able to perform his usual routine with little worry. His mind went to said routine. Stock up on supplies, acquire a room, perform maintenance on his equipment, sleep, eat, and then leave. But, if he was correct, he wouldn't have to leave! The feeling was liberating! Though, despite his joyous revelations, he wasn't paying attention to where he was going, and he bumped his snout into the side of a building. Feeling just a little embarrassed, Hakon had decided to move on, hoping nobody had noticed, and decided to call him out for some reason.

As if blending in with the crowd, several individuals quietly foot-stepped around the marketplace. Each was on their lonesome, each unique in their dress, equipment, and race. The only thing that bound them together was the small crest on their shoulders hidden beneath the cloaks they wore. One with an extreme attention for detail and an eye purposeful in the search for trouble might notice that these individuals slowly formed a large circle around the center of the marketplace's busiest area. Zenith's gates had always been open to anyone. Since the dawn of its golden age, the kingdom had been welcoming to any and all within its walls. You sir! Have you a weapon? No, I wish not to take it. By all means, keep it with you, it's when it becomes an instrument to break the laws of our land is when it should be confiscated by authorities. Being that this was Zenith's policy, these men and women had easily waltzed in with their equipment over time while drawing little to no suspicion from the guards.

Zenith's marketplace was massive. The physical kingdom itself was the size of a small country without even factoring in the land under Zenith's control. Along with the proportions of the Marketplace alone came the equally gargantuan crowd to accommodate such a space. To these mysterious individuals, it was as if these thousands of people were completely invisible to them. Their mind was only focused on one thing: their task. With mission on mind and completion being the goal, these men and women moved to their positions and awaited for the signal.

Everyone in the market moved at different speeds. Fast, slow, paced, strolling, mulling about. One little being in particular, 3'5", was skipping about the stalls. The being was female, a a light blue, dakrer on her edges, with slightly visible circles all over her skin. The circles were a natural occurence. Her eyes were small and grey, her pupils slits. It was obvious that it were a child. A child was a little theif. Wearing a brown hoodie of sorts and cloth pants, the little munchkin crept up to stalls and felt around with her cool blue fingers. After assesing the item under her palm with all five senses, she would take, examine, and stuff in her pocket before scampering along. The little thing giggled and pranced about, only enacting petty theivery when the stall owner was distracted by more than two customers. Easy. As the little blue female ran along, sure to splash in the puddles, much to the dismay of the adults about her, she skid to a stop up against the leg of one of the men forming the secret circle. She didn't press against his leg, only hover against his cloak, her mind calculating that it was apart of the table she was creeping to.

Hakon, whilst wandering about, takes notice of the group of people slowly gather, but shrugged to himself, noting it as likely something of a culture of the city. He takes a half-second, to side-step past a small blue girl on her way around the market, as he approached a nearby butcher's shop. He had to restock his rations, he'd just had lunch before he hit the gates, so a decent meal and some more food to carry with him really would really be remiss of him if he didn't pounce on the chance quickly. Though he honestly hoped they accepted gemstones or work in exchange for supply. He'd yet to see what kind of currency the people of Zenith utilized, and all he had from his initial run from back home was a few sapphires, a dusty emerald, a handful of Rhodochrosite, and a pouch of obsidian shards, the actual currency from his old home. Though, for a moment, his mind was at ease, despite the fact that the noise was bothering him just a little. That little nagging voice in the back of his head, always whispering angry, angry thoughts. But, the thoughts were of no consequence to him as he reached the shop and took a moment to observe. Were these people likely to be kind and patient? Or hurried and business-like? These were questions that a travelling salamander had to ask himself before he spoke to the residents. Otherwise, he may just find himself on the receiving end of a very confused and misunderstood sword swing, spear thrust, or arrow. Or, much worse, scammed or pressured out of his last shard! The worst fate for those of his kind who couldn't hope to pay their weight with might or talent alone.

The man ignored the girl but kept his cloak close to him. Pickpockets might be disappointed at the lack of coin he had on his person, they were the least of his concerns. Then again, their kleptic hands might happen upon something else problematic.

--

All the while a certain individual had been slowly making his own way to the gates of Zenith which fed directly into the Marketplace. With his troop sent ahead just in case, he trudged along with the many individuals ranging from pilgrims to merchants that went back and forth between Zenith and neighboring lands. Despite the enormous cloak he wore over his massive frame to conceal most of his armor beneath, the metal pieces still clanked with his movement. One particular old woman kept staring at him noticeable. It got to a point that as he waited in his place in line to be admitted into the Zenith's kingdom grounds he wanted to give her roar just to frighten her off. It'd show her to stare. How rude.

Eventually his place in line had approached the gate. Although Zenith's guardians gave him extremely uneasy looks, something he'd been accustomed to for a long time, they permitted his admittance into the Kingdom of the Sun. Phase Two had been completed. Now it was time for the fun to begin.

Swish swish. Sway sway. Wiggle wiggle. Inside the shop, fairly close to the market to nab some of the business but a bit away from it to reduce the noise and the crowd. It sometimes became too much for one shop owner. As Hakon stepped into the well lit, wooden building, he would see a big brown bottom swaying in the air and a tiny, stubby, brown tail wiggling. There was snuffing and the scratching and clanking of things being pulled out from shelves and rummaged through. This all went on behind the counter though. As Hakon drew closer, all movement stopped and the obviously round being sniffed quietly. And then he stood up, big and brown and a Bear. Jok the Bear. Jok the Butcher Bear. He specialized in Fish but what bear didn't like tender meat. He had a big black nose and small black eyes, round fuzzy ears and massive fuzzy paws, a long snout, a pink tongue to lick his nose and sharp bear teeth. And Jok was loud. Jok was very loud, as any bear should be. And he didn't wear pants. He only wore a button up and a leather vest. "Why hello there!! Don't you smell new!! Welcome to Jok's shop! I sell all types of Fish and all types of meats!! I catch em' all myself!! Hahahahaw!!! What would you like?! Come now, speak up! Never seen a Bear before?!" He bellowed when he talked and roared as he laughed, huffing and wiggling his nose to take in Hakon's scent. His tiny black eyes were wide and staring as he grinned.

Once the guards let Jaek past, they gave eachother an uneasy look. That cloak and clanking wasn't very innocent. They just hoped he didn't have any explosives. Sighing, they all returned to their checking of visitors, giving them a gentle nudge when they passed or sending them to the side for further investigation.

As the young Salamander approached, he was caught slightly off-guard by the bear-being's sudden and...oddly refreshingly animated personality. His own emotions just seemed to want to flare in a positive radiance of happiness. As Jok spoke, Hakon's own expression seemed to lift a little, and he gave Jok a friendly, if perhaps a bit toothy, grin. Displaying both his own enjoyment of the conversation, and his very, very sharp teeth. He claps his hands together and rubs them a little, before cracking his knuckles idly "Well, a pleasure to meet you, sir. Yes, I'm new in the city. I've traveled hundreds of miles to get here, and since that last stretch between a small town and this bright, shining metropolis, I've run out of food. So, I figured I'd visit a butcher and get myself something for my time in the city." he retrieves the small pouch of gemstones "I'm afraid I don't have much, but anything will do until I can find some stable work." he says, tilting the small leather pouch down and letting the small stones trickle out into his open, scaly hand. The first thing Jok would note upon taking in his scent is that his clothes seem covered in the smell of gunpowder, but the rest of him seems to be surrounded by a smoky scent, not too unlike meat being roasted on a roaring fire.

Jok's tiny little eyes sparkled as the gem's were poured into the Lizard's hand. Shuffling out from behind the counter, made wide just for him, he comes over to him and leans down to examine the jewels. What is personal space? Nothing. That's what. His nose snuffs at the jewels, and since he was taking in the scent so deeply, a bit of the moisture from his nose wet Hakon's palm. Jerking his head up, he licked his nose and stared at the being. "These will do just fine!" He chuckles, his stubby tail wiggling quickly. "Now tell me what you want to buy!! I think I have something you'll like!! Salmon?! Fresh and big and red! These are aged into their season, full of flavor!!" He starts to waddle off to the back storerooms to fetch the fish, his ears wiggling.

Hakon looks distracted for a moment, noting the moisture as it evaporates almost on-contact with his scales, leaving an amusing little cloud rising from his hand, before shaking himself back to reality "Certainly! Fish, Beef, anything you reccommend that could last me a few weeks while I do my thing in this city!" He says, enthusiastically as he lays the small handful of gems on the countertop and stands there, waiting politely. He waits patiently as the bear walks for the storeroom, idly questioning "So, you've been in this city for a while? Got anybody looking for an extra pair of hands? Or, claws, as the case may be?" Never too early to start asking about what needs done in a city that might earn him some funds or food while he gets himself situated. Or while he gets ready for the bug-out if his 'betrothed' finds him. As much as he hoped that wouldn't be the case, it never hurt to prepare for dangerous situations.

Jok was pilling meat for the newcomer, happily humming as he picked out nice sized pieces from his stores. His ears wiggled as he heard the lizard calling, his nose wiggling as he thought for a moment. "Zenith is a massive Kingdom so it would be wise to watch where you offer your hands!!" He laughs. "Buildings, Shops and Homes are taken care of as soon as possible but it becomes too much for the assigned to handle!! Ya know?! If you're looking for small payments of coin in exchange for your help then I would move on down.." The bear comes waddling out of his store rooms with a massive package, tied with trustworthy string. He sits it on the counter, continuing to talk, his teeth flashing and his tongue curling and wiggling. "... to the residencial area and then to the Industrial area!! Industrial will have a larger pay out since you'd be messing with the machinery over there! A lot of invetors are over there too! Trust me, friend, no one in Zenith is without a job! And if you are then you must be a lazy lump of skin!!" He roars, bringing his fuzzy fist down beside the package. Once he finished, he huffed and gently picked out an emerald from the pile of jewels that Hakon had in his palm before. "These gems are worth a lot so I wouldn't give em' away for a couple slabs of meat! I know I'm good but I also know my worth!!" He laughs again, deeply and heartily. He found himself very funny. "And since you obviously don't have any change, this should keep you in good light with me for a good 2 weeks worth of pay!!" He grins, his eyes shutting for the value of the smile.

Hakon smiles visibly, listening intently to the bear's stories and advice. Once he mentions the industrial section and its inventors, a small puff of smoke rises from his nostrils, and the fire on his tail starts to burn just a little brighter. At this point, he's visibly grinning. He slides the remaining gemstones back into their pouch, and places it back on his belt, making sure the cinch is secured well enough, although accidentally revealing his revolver to the bear if he were paying too much attention, before nodding and picking up the meat, giving a hearty chuckle, and outstretching his free hand to the bear for a firm, friendly handshake."Thank you, Jok. You're the first friendly face that this set of scales has seen in a long, long time. I'll take your advice on where to go, especially now that I'm aware of kindred souls in this city. I'm gonna try my luck in the Industrial area, see if any of them are looking for more minds or steady hands."

Jok's eyes flash with interest at the revolver on the hip of the scaly man. When he offered his hand, Jok hugged and roughly took it, shaking it and squeezing with a bear'sites strength. But he didn't squeeze too hard. Hands were frail under the pressure of a bear in certain lifeforms. It took Jok a while to learn this, but he was catching on, his tail wiggling. "Watch that gun.. I will admit that it is very eye catching and someone will be quick to either steal it or pawn it off of you." He warned in a rumbling whisper, his eyes deep and dark. Giving the lizard'S hand one last squeeze, he laughs and gently pushes the package toward the customer. "I'll bump those two weeks up to three.." Jok rumbles happily, having thought on the value of the emerald and the reptile's person.

Hakon grins widely, sliding the package into a pouch in his coat, certain the properties of the extra-dimensional space would keep it well-preserved. Once the grasp of the bear is released, he nods solemnly "I understand. Thank you for the advice." and as he turns toward the door, he takes a moment to look back at Jok, smiling gleefully "Don't worry about me. Anybody touches my gear but me is going to get an old-fashioned Salamander punishment." he says, giving his flaming tail an excited shake, letting the small amber fire on the tip draw a circle in the air "We're a quite brutal race, if you understand the inner-workings, though I doubt even a big-and-tough bear like you would want to visit Scalescar Valley, much less stay there long enough to meet the local inhabitants." he muses, before finally stating "Stay safe, friend." and with that, he opens the door and exits, leaving on a high-note by tipping his hat to Jok and closing the door.

It wasn't difficult for his men to spot him. Many villages in the countryside of various lands had witnessed he and his troop pass by. It wasn't rare to hear a gossiper here or there aptly refer to him as a Frost Giant. The cloaked and armored being stood at eight feet tall. Though not at all a sight to see in terms of the fauna these days. Your average grizzly or kodiak bear could stand at near nine feet tall on their hind legs. The average draconian ferals would fair at much larger heights on all fours alone.

No, Jaek was sentient, and for a sentient species, his height was enormous even to the exotic non-Human or near-Humans of Zenith. The Frostarian quietly lumbered down through the marketplace, observing all the sights there were to see. Where a city glimmered and shined like gold during the day, there was absolutely a flipside that was as black as onyx. There was a thriving underground and the underground was where he found the majority of his kind of work.

The only difficult part of this was finding the underground.

Hakon wanders erratically through the marketplace, taking the time to observe his surroundings better, though with a far greater emphasis on detail and caution, using a variety of clues in his environment to locate what he needed for where he wanted to go. He muses idly to himself "Now, if I were an entire industrial sector of a thriving metropolis, where would I be...?" before deciding to actually look up and locate the smoke clouds drifting away from the city, and deciding that following them to their source would be the best course of action for him. Likely more safe than the myriad of other things that could happen, should he choose a different path.

A short distance away, Torm was making his usual rounds. He had started up near the palace, making his way around the various sections of the city, and had decided that now was a good time to check around the Marketplace. If he were correct, some of his former comrades in the Processional Guard would be on patrol on-lend from the Kiffar Clan Procession to bolster the guards of Zenith after the casualties they sustained in the Cold War. Of course, the dead of the Kiffar only amounted to those lost on patrols, which numbered in the dozens, rather than the hundreds that Zenith itself had sustained. Thankfully, this meant that the population decline they would experience from the loss of even that many would be minor at worst, and the Kiffar would recover nicely. A stable population was an important aspect of their kind, making certain they always had enough people to fight, or protect the ships, or even to monitor the additional systems. Of course, there was always the White Initiative, but they hadn't used that protocol in centuries. The last population spike had been somewhere around thirty years ago by Earth time-tables, and even then, they had refused to activate it. But, putting the past out of his mind, Torm was brought back to reality as he sensed the presence of fellow Kiffar, as well as other psychics. He quickly scanned around, using both his sight and his mind, to locate the people he'd picked up on. And was pleasantly surprised to see at least three others of his kind, one warrior of the Cold War, and two fresh apprentices, young men and women who were completing what remained of their basic training come the end of their youth.

The thick crowd of the market slowed slightly in order to make a path for Jaek. He was large and intimidating. The few who had challenged him during his time in Zenith had half of the fame of a celebrity. Rumors, whispers and talks of his feats and habits were always laced into Zenithian conversations. As the Frost Giant passed by, donned in his armor, the citizens were pretty good about not staring. For the most part, they were becoming used to his presence but still careful. From a few men in the crowd he recieved passive glances from narrowed eyes and from the women he recieved sighs and long stares, giggles, whispers and suggestive waves.

Once the moment of him entering the marketplace passed, the bustling continued but Jaek still had his space. The only one who interrupted this was the little blue female quietly slipping about his legs. She was a child so she had no sexual interest in him. She was a growing pickpocket, her interest was simply to gain something from his person. Hopefully something good. His sparkling and shiny armor had made her pupils dilate and her fingers itch. As he moved, she stuck with him, examining him and trying to find pockets or shiny weapons, she even ran her soft blue fingers against his cool armor a few times in awe.

Not only did Jaek recieve whispers but so did Torm. His whispers were more restricted to curiosity and fear. Zenithians knew nothing about him or his race. Species in Zenith who had come from the endlessness of space didn't even know what planet or galaxy they were from. So for him, people stared a little too long and stayed out of his way.

Jaek silently grumbled in his helm. Of course he noticed the little cretin running about his legs. There was nothing she'd gain but a smack to the side of the street if she continued to bother him. His armor had no "conventional" pockets and the pouches in his robes held nothing. The Frostarian figured his best course of action was to ignore the little blueskin. She was just a child trying to make it under the shadow of the city's grandeur. How deceptive, the mercenary mused. A city with the appearance of perfection, yet with its own slimy underbelly. Jaek knew it all. Despite his feats for the sake of Zenith during the Cold War, his services had not been used in any way by the city leadership. Resulting in my dirtying myself with places like these, the Nephilim scowled as he ducked into a nearby narrow alleyway.

Being a mercenary wasn't glorious. They were by far lower than bounty hunters or even assassins and spies for higher. Being a sword for higher that cared more about coffers than loyalties often meant that your position was seen less than honorable more often than not. Monarchical enemies could be easily made if your mercenary band was the sole cause of the scales tipping in the tide of a war. Enemies of royal stature weren't the only friends one could make in the mercenary business. The filth of urban areas also often held mercenaries in contempt if they weren't being hired by the gangs. Mafias, triads, and the likes often saw mercenary bands as competition.

The Frostarian quietly made his way down the alleyway walking past several bums hiding out in the alley's shadows during the daylight. The smell of alcohol and shit permeated the air but had no affect on his heightened senses thanks to both the helmet and him having smelled worse. Jaek continued down the alley until it opened up into a small square of space between several buildings. Many of the bums had left as soon as they saw him enter the area. Several others began to take their leave as soon as they could. A few figures standing about and lounging on a few crates stood up immediately and watched the eight foot tall cloaked being approach them.

The party was a diverse group, as expected of Zenith. Several were human of descent of the kind that made up the majority of this continent, a few blue and greenskins amongst them, even an elf to Jaek's mild surprise. For such an uppity species like his own an elf definitely was a rare sight to see in one of Zenith's major crime triads. The Frostarian wasn't really interested in any of them. What he was interested was one of their members. One of the humans, a man in his early twenties it seemed with spiked black hair, basic leather armor, and a rather unkempt mustache made his way to Jaek.

"Hey man you can't just co- Oof!" The mercenary promptly shoved him out of his way and into the nearby brick wall, prompting the others to draw their swords.

"Relax," boomed the Frostarian's muffled voice. "I'm not here to kill you." Their swords wavered as they looked at each other. "I'm here for him."

The gang members stopped and let the unrobed armored figure walk past them and take hold of a small creature with green spotted skin and pointy ears.

"OH! Hiiii J-Jaek. Fancy seeing you h-"
"Shut up, Hemsley. You can spare me the gremlin charm. I've had enough of your kind throughout my stay in Blackfell. Now tell me," he brought the gremlin close to his helmeted face, the faceless steel piece staring the greenling down, "Does your boss have another job for me and my group or do we need to go to the" Kandoke Clan?"
"It's funny you mention that..."
An unseen eyebrow rose. "Why."
"W-Well... He's found another group to work the jobs he- HNGH!"

The denizens of Zenith's marketplace were milling about, doing what they did best: look at stalls, purchase items, take up space, etc. Suddenly a body flew from one of the alley's and landed into one of the merchant carts followed by another. Several men seemed to run out from one of the alleys and into the crowd. Follow them was the thundering footsteps of Jaek as the crowd split almost instantly to allow him unmolested passage. The Frostarian quickly drop kicked the gremlin into the nearest building as he pursued the few remaining triad members.

"Your asses are mine!" he roared. "I'll make sure your boss wish he hadn't passed the White Ravens over!"

Hakon picked up on the thundering roars of an angry man, and decided that now would be the best time for him to pick up the pace. He quickly departed from the marketplace, his gear and recently acquired food in-tow, and made his way for the industrial area. He was looking forward to the men, women, and...creatures in-between, he would meet and who among them would turn out to be his peers. Though that nagging doubt in the back of his head still told him that he shouldn't stay settle for too long, or she'd find him. Of course, he pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind, and focused more on getting out before whatever happens, happens.

A short distance away, Torm, having recently acknowledged the silence, stares, and whispers he received, simply continues his walk. Right up until he hears the screaming he'd not heard for at least a week, which made him sigh and shake his head. He reached out to his brethren, informing them that they should simply work to contain the situation. The Frostarian was not one to be fought when there were Apprentices around for him to capitalize on if he were to get desperate. With that said, the others departed, likely off to inform some of the more apt Kiffar sentinels, and Torm began to stride toward the howling and screaming, one hand on his weapon beneath his robes. Hopefully just his mere presence would be able to curb whatever madness was occurring. If not, he would simply strike for parts that could be mended.

When Jaek departed the scene, the female blueskin decided not to follow him into such a sketchy alley. She knew where it went but she didn't want to visit, so she scampered home to examine her winnings.

When the crafty Goblin went flying into a Fruit stall, the merchant cried out and barely had time to escape. Rising from the remnants of his income, his pink skin darkened a few shades and the black pupils of his blue eyes narrowed. He started to curse the Goblin and the Frostarian in the words of his people, waving his arms about.

Almost immediately, three guards were tensed and armed assessing the situation. Jaek was steadily approaching Hemsley, who was groaning and slowly getting to his feet. The armored Titan bellowed and the guards jump and look at one another. Then, in a blink two of them stepped back, leaving the middle man to look from one to the other in shock. "Wha-?! I can't do that! Look at that!" He whines. Gesturing to the scene.
"Nono. We'll get help and you stall..!" The first guard says, already backing away.
"Yeah! It's been done before! It can't be that hard!" He smiles encouragingly but his eyes betray it.
The guard who had been elected pants and stares at the Frostarian, gulping and his eyes wide.

The Frostarian turned to look where he had thrown Hemsley and the chaos that surrounded the area of his impact. A lone guard stood in his path, knees wobbling and armor shaking, clearly new on the job. Jaek grinned behind his helmet. The Frostarian slowly stalked towards the guard until he came within a few feet of the man and had to actually bend forwards a bit to get face to face with him.

"Excuse me," came his deep, muffled voice. "You're in my way."

The pink Fruit Vendor continued to curse and go on while trying to pick up his fruits. His words although in a different language sounded angry and then sad, and then despair and then angry again as he shook his fist.

The two guards were still trying to convince they're colleague to stall Jaek when the giant started coming over. They saw this over the Guard's shoulder and started backing away faster before ultimately running away. But not before clapping a hand on his shoulder. "Just don't freeze up." Said one who lingered for a bit before scuttling off.

Turning about the last man came face to face with Jaek, he inwardly whimpered as he stared at his armored face, his own face mask pushed up. "U-uhm.." He stutters, gulping. But, he soon holds the hilt of his broadsword tighter. "I.. I cannot let you go any further, Frostarian!! So.. so please turn around and leave Hemsley to the Zenithian Guard..!" He finds his voice and stands straighter.

Of course by now a circle was forming, citizens coming to watch the scene play out but keeping a safe distance. But this making of a ring only made the Guard more nervous.

As Torm walked toward the scene, he passed the vendor whose the Goblin had been slammed into. As he passed by, the Kiffar simply tossed a few coins the vendor's way, and picked up the cluster of fruits, laying them neatly in a pile in a receptacle he could recover them from without saying a word. Once that four seconds of telekinetics was done, he simply turned and moved for the actual crisis at hand. He quietly nudged his way through the group of people who were surrounding the Frostarian and the Guardsman. If anybody gave him any trouble, he'd just lift them into the air and hold them there until he was safely past them. Torm had little time for fun and games with these people. Particularly with a Zenithian Guard getting involved, and handling the situation so clumsily.

The Frostarian nearly rolled his eyes. "You're stubborn, boy. Don't risk your life over something as stupid as my dispute with a criminal gang you Guards haven't been able to deal with yourselves." Jaek stood up straight, easily dwarfing the young man, and took hold of guard's helmet to scoot him aside.

With the guard easily handled Jaek began his slow advance again on the troublesome Gremlin. He'd get information out of him first before possibly considering squeezing the little greenskin's head till it popped. He was so dialed in on getting his hands on Hemsley that he hadn't noticed the Kiffar enter the circle the marketplace-goers had made.

The guard tensed as the Frostarian raised a hand towards him. When he opened his eyes, he had only been moved aside like a small child. Puffing, he drew his sword and put a little pep in his step to get between Jaek and the Goblin once more. "You have already caused a scene in the Market and destroyed property of one of the Merchants! I cannot allow you to continue!" He raises his voice a bit louder to get his point accross. Stories about this Frostarian said he was battle hungry but smart. Hopefully the intelligence part of him took over and this Guard could live another day.

The vendor was cursing to himself, too upset to see the potential danger building before his very eyes. When Torm came over and quietly stacked his fruits, he moved back in surprise. Tipping his head, he watched as all his unharmed merchandise was neatly piled together, grinning, he bounces up and down and thanks Torm many times over. Now all he needed was a cart to transport the fruit out of the market and back home.
