Physical Description:

Profession:Journalist.
Survival Skills:

Lock Picking - Eliza, being the intuitive and particularly nosy person she is, learned the secret art of lock picking from an ex a few years back she prefers not to talk about. Like some young students, Eliza soon honed this particular skill and found herself barred from almost nowhere she wanted to go. Eliza first learned the skill as a means to ensure her survival when a time in her past wasn't pleasant. When Eliza finally begun her career as a journalist however, she found that her skill was particularly handy when uncovering scandalous stories and private entrance to documents and rooms she shouldn't be near or in.

Smooth Talking -Some people might not consider having a way with words a survival skill per se... But where Eliza lacks physical strength most of the time, her silver tongue can usually pack a punch of a whole different kind. Being a woman of words - one of the many reasons Eliza ended up pursuing a career in Journalism - Eliza has the uncanny knack of speaking with such verve and charm that instead of fighting for herself, she can convince almost any man to do the fighting for her. Eliza capitalizes on her natural charm almost everyday of her life, but when the world went to shit, she never realized how much it would benefit her to be able to talk her way into any safe house, or obtaining supplies to ensure her own survival.

Skills:

Running: Eliza can keep her endurance up for a fair while when her adrenaline kicks in.

Steady Nerves: Eliza has the mettle of steel wall. Through most situations she can keep a cool head, grit her teeth and push on. Not much scares her nowadays. Except dying.

Small Body Frame: At first it doesn't seem like a game changer at all. But when the only way out is the shaft of the ventilation system and you're a 6 foot guy made of muscle... You've got no hope! Eliza however can fit almost anywhere, and if she doesn't fit straight away, if it means her life keeps going even for just a few more minutes, she'll squeeze herself in.

Experience: It was sort of double edged sword for Eliza when the proverbial hit the fan. She lived smack dab in the center of New York City.Avoiding every disaster that America hit was something Eliza can't thank her lucky stars enough for. But after the realization that the Order had unleashed the horrific virus, Eliza found herself quickly immersed within the chaos that were the first hordes. Her ingenuity allowed her to fight for her life and with, minimal to moderate struggle, Eliza made it through what she often quotes as the "the second hardest year" of her life. It's hard to surprise her now when she sees a zombie. Thanks to her being in the middle of the NY outbreak, she quickly adjusted to survival mode, but it didn't come without its price.

Equipment: Lock Pick equipment. Flashlight. Small Swiss army knife.
Luggage:A small backpack that holds all of the above equipment, and little else.
Love Ones: No one in particular.
History: Eliza was probably what many would consider one of the luckiest woman alive, although that's not without irony. Eliza is what many consider a metropolitan snob. That is to say, she only eats sushi and drinks bottles water. That is probably the biggest key to her initial survival... Eliza ONLY drinks bottled water, or nowadays, water caught fresh from the rain. She avoided contamination from the Order due to her snobbery. But when Eliza realized her upper-class lifestyle was not going to keep her alive any longer, she gathered herself and had to delve deep into her past and remember who she was before she came a successful journalist.

Eliza's luck was probably most dominant in the early stages of the outbreak. Most of her apartment building was abandoned as her neighbors fled to loved ones or other countries "for holidays" until the "whole thing blew over". Eliza however had no one to care about and no one to worry her. She was smart and resourceful; she stocked her apartment heavily and barricaded her door on the second floor and prepared herself quietly. Initially though Eliza began to think she and her neighbors, hell, most of New York had overreacted! How wrong she actually was only dawned on her about a month after the t.v stations went down...

It began as a slight hum in the middle of the night. Eliza awoke slowly to the muffled moaning in the streets below. She roused herself slowly at firs,t but when she groggily made her way to her apartment window she soon realized her fight for survival had only just begun. The first horde Eliza had seen was shambling through the streets, numbering in the hundreds easily. They were randomly and aimlessly entering the buildings and it was then Eliza fully realized the devastation that was being caused. Eliza wide-eyed ans stunned then began to tune into the shattering screams of the now in trouble and left-behind living of New York City. The echos and screams of those left living, hollered through the early hours of the morning.

Eliza witnessed apartment lights across the street begin to flick off, but it was too late when she realized she'd made the same mistake of leaving her living room light on. It was more than painfully obvious at that point that living on the second floor wasn't safe. Eliza soon came to understand that the undead had shambled and crawled to her apartment drawn by the light inside. Their relentless banging and eventual break-in forced Eliza to kick into survival mode and that was the first night Eliza ever truly understood the phrase, "fight for survival". She mustered everything within herself, and Eliza survived the night, but was left homeless, alone and for the briefest time, scared of what was going to happen.

Eliza didn't wallow in her new found hopelessness though; she quickly found herself a new home for the next four months with two men - Michael Sawyer and Thomas Errard. They had rescued her when Eliza found herself cornered by a Banshee in central park. The two men it turned out had been police officers before everyone had their lives taken away. They sheltered Eliza, provided her with protection and in return she showed them how to be cunning and survive off of next to nothing. However, the three were making their lives the best they could in an old apartment building, and they eventually found themselves in the same situation Eliza had originally found herself in the first time. The three fought hard to escape, but when it came down to their last doorway to freedom, only Eliza was able to make it out. She left Michael and Thomas behind her, shutting out their screams and pleas as she ran.

Eliza spent another two months sweet-talking her away around the other various survivors she met through her journey around Manhattan. It was in the ninth month since the beginning of the outbreak that she learned of the Empire State building being a small colony of survivors. That was when Eliza made the decision to make that her new home. When Eliza arrived, she was welcomed with little to no hostility. Thankful for that, she quietly assumed her own corner of the building, and quietly worked her way around the growing mass of survivors, living off them using her charm, quick thinking and on occasion, theft.

Two months into settling in, Eliza began listening to the broken radio casts across the scattered survivors. Talk of an entire state outbreak-free was proving something of an Eden to Eliza and it wasn't too long before she decided that was her next port of call. Scrounging together a small backpack, Eliza formulated a plan to get herself to California, she even managed to convince another man called John Collins to accompany her... However the night before they were to leave, Eliza found herself yet again challenged to survive.

So begins...
