| Personality |

A good guy, who always seems to get the short end of the stick. He does his best to be kind, and to quell his urge to judge other people but sometimes he falls off the wagon. For the most part hes the kind of guy to put others first, and doesn't hesitate to help when he knows he can offer it. However he is most known for his stubborn attitude and aggressive way of protecting others. He has a hard time letting grudges go, something he has never been able to get over. But given the right circumstances has been known to forgive and forget (those circumstances however are very few.)

Hes also a fairly critical person, judging others based on what he knows of them. This does extend to himself as well, as he can be very self-critical and beats himself up over the smallest of mess ups. He tries his best, he really does. Often times he has a hard time believing other peoples intentions, making him a cautious and skeptical person at first. He finds that the mere proximity effect does not affect him in the same way as most others. In fact, he isn't likely to change his views until he has learned enough about a person to change those views.

To the outsider he can seem a little mean, but for the most part he does what he does to protect himself and those around him.

| Appearance |

A youthful man of 6'2", his height isn't so intimidating when taking into note how lean he is. Though his muscles may be mostly hidden, that doesn't mean they don't exist. He comes from a Greek/Egyptian background, and it seems to dominate most of his appearance despite knowing from his file that his biological parents were quite a bit more Caucasian in appearance. He is often wearing hoodies, work boots, and regular sturdy jeans.

Ellis Arden | Living | Adoptive Father |
"We have a great relationship, hes the father I always needed growing up."

Marina Arden | Living | Adoptive Mother |
"Shes an amazing mom, but sometimes can get a little...high strung."

Bryant Arden | Living | Adoptive Older Brother |
"Even though hes a jerk sometimes we have a pretty good relationship."

Christopher James | Living | Adoptive Younger Brother |
"I watched him grow, but he has never really wanted anything to do with me."

Riley Arden | Living | Adoptive Younger Sister |
"I practically helped dad raise her, we are very close."

| History |

A foster care kid for several years, he shifted home to home, uprooted nearly every time he got comfortable. He doesn't remember his biological parents well, only knowing that whatever kind of people they were, they managed to leave scars and nightmares in their wake. He knows from his file that he was taken by CPS at age five, and though he stayed in the same general area all through his childhood he eventually found himself living under the Ardens roof. After fostering him for a year and three months they decided to adopt him, making his life with them official.

He grew up alongside the Arden boys, and Riley, his younger sister whom he took care of and watched grow. He is fiercely protective of her, and she is the only one of his adoptive siblings that he feels a real bond with. He had a relatively harsh time growing up, getting mediocre grades all through middle school and high school he knew that he would only ever end up in a dead end job. Its no surprise that he did exactly that. During his high school career he was simply too focused on his social life, and his relationship with a particular Harley Cooper. But that didn't last as long as Ephraim would have liked, and to this day he is still bitter over it.

9 Hours until the Apocalypse

With it being a slightly warm day, Sarah left her window open a little so that the cool air could circulate around the room while she got stuck in her book about far away lands with Dragons, Lords, Ladies, Kings, and Queens. Most the time she wished she was apart of their world, because life in the mundane world was just uneventful unless you had the cash to actually enjoy yourself more often.

Considering others lives though, she was grateful, and lucky to be able to have the one that God had gifted her with.

Every night before bed, her mother would make sure that her little Angel had said her preys, and brushed her teeth before tucking her away for a hopeful nightmare free sleep. Those days were gone though, along with the stories that her mother told her before sleeping. Now Sarah had night terrors occasionally with the event of losing her mother so suddenly.

A knock echoed through her bedroom door, causing her to peel her eyes off of the page she was reading. "Sweetie, it's dad. Your dinner will be ready shortly, and your Grandma's come to visit you." Sarah hadn't seen her Grandma May in a couple of Months with being busy at school, then college, but she knew Sarah still loved her. She'd call her everyday on the house phone, and that made her happy enough.

After placing the book mark into the center of the pages she was on, she closed the book, and placed it onto her white bedside table before climbing off of her bed, and placing on the fluffy deep purple slippers that her grandma had brought her last Christmas. She loved Christmas with her family, but she wished every time that her mother could be there hanging up the tree decorations with her like she used to. After quickly wiping under her bottom eyelids, she headed out of her room with a thin cardigan on that was comfy to sit around in. She'd much rather laze around in her Pj's, but she had so much to do this afternoon. Once downstairs, and once she entered the Kitchen/Dining-Room, her grandma couldn't believe her eyes.

She was welling up with joy, causing Sarah to smile with gentle furrowed brows as she admired her grandma who was heading over to her with her aged hands reaching out to cup her Grand-daughters face. "Oh, Sarah.. you're growing into such a Beautiful woman. Your mother would be so proud, and you look just like her when she was your age." Sarah could feel herself tearing up again at the thought of her mother, and how she looked, how she smelt, and even the way she held her in her arms like a Guardian Angel. Now she was a Guardian Angel in Heaven. Even her father looked a little upset at the mention of his wife, so he diverted his attention to setting out the dining table with their Lunch. "Thank you, Grandma." Sarah hugged her gently before kissing her cheek that still felt soft for an old lady, and then helped her Grandma to her chair at the table.

"So how's your training going, Darling?" Her dad asked her as he placed his mother-in-laws food in-front of her, then handed her the cutlery. Sarah wasn't sure anymore if the course she was taking was what she still wanted, but the training was good. "It's good, I'm definitely a lot better now." That's what she thought anyway. "we'll do some later once I've taken your grandma home. Unless she wants to stay here for the night?" Grandma May shook her head gently while sipping on her soup. "I'd rather be in my own bed tonight. The girls are coming over to take me to Bingo." Sarah chuckled. "Still hoping to win Ten million that you almost got, huh?" She couldn't believe they had almost been rich, and then their worries about payments on their home, and other bills wouldn't have to be worrying anymore. "You betcha. We'll get it one day.. you'll see." Sarah smiled before glancing once to her father, then down at the food she hadn't managed to touch just yet.

08 00 HRS REMAINING

Dinner had gone extremely well with her family, but now she just needed some time on her own. She headed back to her room after spending some time with her Grandmother first, then headed upstairs to get comfy on her bed with the TV remote in hand. She pointed it at the red light while pressing one of the remotes buttons, making that red light turn to green which made the TV to jump to life.

It wasn't long before her phone began to buzz on her bedside table with an alert of a text message, so she paused a movie she had found randomly on netflix, and scrolled through her phone to read whatever the message was, and who from. It was her best-friend Chad. He had been out of town for a couple of months for his work, and was now inviting Sarah for just a couple of drinks. He'd make sure she'd get home safely by ordering a cab for the both of them, so he'd pay for the fair of course, because her house a couple of blocks away from his own.

Text
Hi, Chad, it's good to hear from you again. How was work? - I was thinking about having a night in with Netflix, so.. how about you hang out here instead? I got beers for us."

It didn't take him long to reply with a "Yeah, sounds awesome. I'll be over in an hour. Jumping in the shower real quick." She placed her phone back onto her bedside table as she got comfy again, watching some of the movie she had picked out. She had almost fallen asleep when she heard her father calling her from at the bottom of the stairs. With a groan, she got up, and headed to her bedroom door to peek her head out.
"Yeah?"
"There's a young lad at the door asking for you"
"He's my best friend. Let him up, dad. Thanks."

07 00 HRS REMAINING

It had already been an hour since her friend had turned up to hangout at her place, and they had already had two beers each as they watched the new Mad Max movie. It had good reviews, so it was worth checking out.

"So how was work? did you manage to visit lots of places on your travels?"

"Yeah we did, it was awesome. We had to go to London for an entire week."

Sarah had always wanted to know what it was like there, especially since she had heard that mostly every English person was polite, and friendly. Even if you were a stranger passing in the street, people would politely smile at you, and sometimes even say, "Good morning." or, "Hello." Chad was definitely lucky. "I want to go there one day." she saw her friend smiling, so she smiled too, but frowned slightly as she gave him a questionable look. "I'll happily take you one day. All I have to do, is get permission from my boss, and if not!? well, I'd still invite you anyway." Sarah grinned at that.

Meanwhile in San-Francisco

Somewhere in the city, a homeless man was searching through the trashcans that sat in the public central park of San-Francisco. It wasn't cold luckily, so living on the streets during spring wasn't so bad for the homeless at this current moment. But still, no-one should be homeless, yet it happens. Just as he had sat down to eat, a crazed woman was making her way down the dark alley. She seemed distressed, scared, and looking back every couple of seconds as if she was worried of being followed. The homeless man had watched the entire scene unfold in-front of his eyes as he remained hidden in his boxes that were built for his home against the wind.

Everything had happened so fast. A man came out of nowhere, aimed his gun at the woman, then continued to shoot her multiple times in the chest, causing her to hit the ground in seconds. She looked sick, just like the same sickness that had appeared on the news in some other state, but it hadn't reached this part of town yet, therefore it wasn't even on the news..

yet.

The homeless guy couldn't believe his eyes.. he had either drank too much from his whiskey bottle that was wrapped up with a brown paper bag around it, or this really was happening. The woman who had been shot not too long ago, had began to get up from the ground slowly, with her eyes glazed over like she was blind. The homeless man remained quiet as possible, because something told him that nothing good could come out of this, especially since he had sprained his ankle earlier from looting, so running was out of the question.

The shooter had stupidly come back to the scene to put the woman into the back of his car, just so he can get rid of the body, but when he saw her actually moving with the bullet wound still in her chest where her heart would be, he realized something was definitely not right. She lunged at him when she got the chance, and began taking huge chunks of flesh out of his face while he was screaming, his blood just squirting out of him as this thing mutilated the right side of his face. He tried to push her off of him, but she was much too strong.

The homeless guy was now petrified, because once the screaming had stopped, he assumed the man was dead, especially since he could now here munching, and crunching sounds. He didn't dare to look, the smell was just as bad. He just had to remain quiet, then it will go away once its had its fill. Hopefully.

Sarah's House

The movie had finished, but the second they had gotten back onto the normal TV, the channels were interrupted by the news: The News Broadcast
