Introduction
The year is 2018 - And the world has ended. That sounds dramatic, but it's more or less the truth. It didn't happen how many thought it would. There was no third world war that doomed us all. There was no great eruption by the worlds super volcanos, or a giant rock from space that smashed us into nothing. No giant black hole that sucked us into the void. There was no second coming. Sure, the state of the world before it happened wasn't the best. Natural disasters. Crazy politics. But then the virus happened, it snuck up on us, disguised as some kind of super flu.
But what we didn't know is it isn't something you just randomly catch. It's given to you. Or maybe it's already there.
It killed within days, and before we knew it, there was a pandemic on our hands. People were quarantined, safe houses were set up, anyone with so much as a sniffle was treated as if they were the next Typhoid Mary. Forced isolation became a real thing. Fear. Chaos. Uncertainty. The authorities tried to hide the truth at first, that whatever this was reanimating the bodies of the dead, but the problem became too big to control. The end of the world as we knew it happened slowly, gradually, and we scrambled to try and fix it.
There isn't much left of what we consider normal life. No electronics. No real power, or running water. The dead kind of overwhelmed us. But it wasn't just the dead that caused issues. Cities are basically death traps. People did what they had to in order to survive. Some run it solo, some have managed to scrap together little communities scattered around - or so that is the story anyway - and others find a group and do their damndest to just live, survive. Make it just one more day. The world is a dark place, there are no real laws, and people more or less govern themselves. Everyone has their own set of codes, and laws to follow, and some don't even have that. You have to not only fear the undead things walking around, looking for their next human happy meal but worry about the living as well.
It's a hard time to be alive.

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 1 authors
Margot had just ended her turn as one of a pair on guard duty, giving the next duo in line a soft tired smile as she dragged her half-frozen carcass to her sleeping bag. The winter had been a difficult one, and spring was barely here, teasing them with glimpses of budding flowers, and the gentle caress of warmth during the daylight hours, while winter reminded them at night, that she wasn't quite done. It was chilly enough during the late night hours that fingers and toes often went numb, and all someone could do to pass the time was watch how their breath created little white puffs in the air.
She was looking forward to spring.
Margot had fallen asleep with thoughts of wildflowers, and warm days filling her head. But she awoke to screams. A shrill sound that was cut off before it could finish, the panicked sounds of her group as people sprung up from make-shift beds, the rustling noise of people moving in the dark, reaching for whatever weapon was usually at hand. There was no thought, just movement, she'd gone through this enough, so many times, that her body simply reacted, her thoughts a panicked mess as she desperately clung to the handle of her machete.
It was still too dark, she couldn't tell where everyone was. The screaming had subsided but replacing it was a mess of noise from every side. Shouting, orders, questions, calling for friends, loved ones. But worst of all, even beyond the panicked note in the living voices was that awful, wretched sound those things made, it was a gurgle, a low terrible moan that didn't sound like a human throat should be making it.
But they weren't human, not anymore...
Before Margot could properly get her bearings, she was slammed into from behind, and before she could react to that, there was something clutching at her, tugging at her shirt, digging its fingers into the thing fabric and ripping. The smell of rotting flesh hits her nose as she swings her blade.
She fights like a cornered animal, all bared teeth, and blind fury, and perhaps that works well enough for now. But there is no grace to her attacks. Only fear mingled with the desperate need to survive, to live—raw and powerful and unrefined. Savage. Her arm shakes with effort as she pulls her blade out of the creatures face, her entire body trembles at the wet spray of blood that doesn't come from her deader, but from something else, it's warm, too warm.
She can taste bile as she pushes through the spaces between shapes, not sure where to swing, and terrified of killing someone living. So she doesn't, she tucks into herself and runs, fleeing toward the small opening in the doorway, and somewhere in the back of her mind, it occurs to her that it should be locked, and that is likely how the deaders got inside..." Outside! C'mon!" She hopes someone can hear her in the chaos.

I have been super busy, and slow lately, and even when not. I'm a very patient and flexible partner. ^_^ Take your time, and best whenever you can.

It ate my original post. -__- But, I got something up! I apologize for the shortness/not so greatness. :/ Nothing worse than losing a post! ;--;
Hopefully, it gives you something to go off of.

Also, it's been a bit busy, but I am gonna try to get in a post tomorrow definitely. :P
Re: Zombieland - No Such Thing as Rest In Peace
And I think it would be great to start smack in the middle of the shitstorm. I have found that starting in the action is a fun way to start.
For Heath and Margot, I think that Heath didn't hasn't paid much attention to her, especially since she is new. He probably thought she was pretty, but too quiet. So I don't even see him remembering her name, only recognizing her face or her red hair at least lol. Let me know your thoughts on this.
Also, where do you want them to end up at together when they get separated from the group? A store, a post office, gas station, pharmacy, bank? I'm just throwing out ideas here.
And I saw the Violet person, there is normally at least one person that tries to join a roleplay even though it clearly says 'private'. I don't know why that it is, but it always happens lol.
Re: Zombieland - No Such Thing as Rest In Peace
I love him <3 Looking forward to seeing him in action. I can probably get an intro post going Monday/Tuesday. Did we have an idea where we'd like to begin? Right smack in the middle of the actions and shitstorm? Or right before? or right after?
Any ideas or suggestions?
PS.
Not sure who Violet is, but sent her a PM letting her know this is a private roleplay.
