Unnatural (IC)

And it begins...

Loud music bumping, teens intoxicated, and hundreds of glow sticks filled the usually vacant woods on the outskirts of Paramount, NewYork. It seemed like everyone had taken time away from either their jobs or their studies to go to the first spring break party of the week. With most of the teens leaving town for the break the next day, they might as well have a nice going away party. It was rare to see so many cliques mixed into one area. There was a separation between them if you looked close enough though. Little did the teens know, something was on its way to change the way a few of them lived.

One of these teens happened to be Michael Hayes, a member of the Crew Team. They weren’t the most known when it came to the sport teams of Paramount High School, but they won enough to have their few members gain a little popularity. The team could be seen outside of a house that was being used for the party. From what they’ve heard, most of this land was owned by some rich kid’s grandparents. That fact didn’t seem to be too relevant to the team as they drank a few mixed drinks.

“Don’t drink too much, kids!” Michael said with a chuckle before sipping something strong in his cup. “Whoa…” Michael said as he moved the cup from his lips and looked down into it. A few of the guys on the team just laughed.

“Can’t handle it?”

“Listen, this is my first drink, not my last. This shit could bring a dead man back to life.” Michael complained before drinking a bit more and giving them a sour look. One of the guys actually did the same before laughing.

“Listen, this is the only night we get to drink as much as we want until we have to go back to training.” One of the guys on the team said, bringing up a solid point. “So we drink to the beginning of our false spring break!” The guys agreed with a cheer before touching cups and drinking down their alcohol. When the group of eleven guys finished with their drinking, they decided they’d really start partying and go deeper into the woods where more people were dancing.

“Hold up, let me tie my shoe for a second.” Michael announced, but the guys kept going off ahead. The teammate left behind just shook his head with a smile. He knew he’d bump into them later. Besides, maybe he could find a girl to talk to on his own. The thought left an almost permanent smile on his face before the ground lit up beneath him. Michael turned around just to see what it could be before watching a vibrant meteorite fly over the house he was crouched down next to and crash at least a mile into woods. It seemed to conveniently make impact in an area where no one was. That would surely change as Michael wasn’t the only one who noticed the flying rock. “I gotta see this.” Michael said before standing up and jogging toward the direction where he saw the meteorite crash.

Ash was none to happy to be at a big high school party. As far as he was concerned is was just more preppy bull shit. But his best mates, Jackson Red, better known as Jacks, and Viola Branche, better known as Vi, had dragged him along. Apparently there was a rumor going around that some hotshot underground DJ was gonna be spinning at the party, and there were sure to be plenty of drugs drifting around a party this size. Still, this really wasn't Ash's scene, so after snagging a bottle of Jack Daniels from the kitchen, he clambered up the side of the house to the roof.

He liked it up here. He could feel the music rumbling beneath him, not bad, but he sure didn't get the hype if this was the DJ Vi had been so pumped to see. Below was a see of wavering lights, glowsticks spinning around, and above, a sea of black with stars floating across it. Smiling, Ash popped a handfull of pills into his mouth, and chased them down his throat with a big swig from the bottle of Jack. Then he lit up a cigarette, and lay down against the roof, enjoying the view, and the warm buzzing filling his veins.

Ash was halfway through the bottle, three joints, and four more cigarettes deep, when Vi scrabbled up beside him.

"Jesus Ash!" She exclaimed, "Have you been hiding out here by yourself all night?"

Ash shrugged in response, taking another swig from the bottle, before passing it to her. He was definitely intoxicated, but his tolerance was high enough that his head was still clear enough to think, a problem he was seeking to remedy.

"You know I hate those preppy fucks." Ash said, lighting up another smoke.

"Yeah, but it's not just those preppy fucks down there Ash," Vi complained, "It's me and Jacks, and Danny's get a boatload of pill's, and Jace has some seriously quality opiates. Well, he only has a couple pills, he lost at least half somehow."

Ash ducked his head to hide his grin, but not quickly enough. Vi spotted the smile, and her mouth popped open with a surprised laugh.

"You dick!" She squealed, punching him in the arm. "Where you gonna share?"

Ash smiled again and passed her a pill, as he popped another himself. Jacks rolled over the lip of the roof ledge just as they took their pills, and just let himself continue rolling until he came to a stop against Ash and Vi, then lifted his head, demanding with a drunken smile, "Let'sko, pill me mate!"

For a while the three enjoyed the night sky, the music and revelry around them as they got high off stolen goods, and smoked cigarettes stolen from drugstores. Ash was beginning to think this wasn't such a bad party after all, as long as it was just this private little gathering of theirs. It was like they were laughing at the rest of the school, playing out their stupid pre-ordained, normal lives below them, while Ash and Vi and Jacks got drunk on their booze and high on their drugs. It was like they were shoplifting the preppies party, and taking it for themselves. And Ash loved to take from those he didn't find deserving.

Just then, as the three of them puffed cigarettes, and watched the stars, a meteor lit up the sky. Through the buzz of drugs Ash registered shock. This was a low flying meteor, it should've already burned up in the atmosphere, but it was falling, fast, and close.

"SHIT!" Vi swore, sitting up right behind Ash, who has already on his feet, head upturned, watching as plummeted, near enough that it looked like it might take out the entire part with a bulls eye landing. He heard a couple scared yelps from below, but then the meteor was passed, and from his high vantage point, Ash could see it hit the ground, cratering the earth.

But he was already running, jumping off the roof, smirking at the startled yelps of the kids he soared over before hitting the ground, rolling to prevent damage, and continuing in a sprint as he rolled back to his feet. From behind him he could hear Vi and Jacks swearing at him to wait the fuck up and not be an idiot, but he was already outpacing their voices.

The adrenaline buzzing through his body cleared his mind, sobering him up, speeding him onwards, faster and faster, until-

"Shiiiiiit!" Ash swore as he skidded to a halt as he came upon the crater. But his momentum carried him faster, over the edge of the crater, tumbling down, coming to a stop mere inches away from the strange rock. It was hot, but for some reason that his drug and adrenaline addled brain couldn't figure out, it didn't bother him at all. And despite the sprint and fall, he felt fine.

It was probably shock, Ash thought to himself, it's not every day you see a fucking meteor. Standing up and wiping his hands clean on his jeans, he leaned against a boulder sticking out of the side of the crater, and lighting up another smoke.

"Holy fucking meteors Batman." He said, in an awed tone. "I wonder what the hell this thing is?" He voiced his query aloud to the open air. He knew he couldn't have been the only one to see it, hell Jacks and Vi were already on their way after him. He wondered if he should cordon off the area or something, but decided it wasn't his problem, and sank down into his seat again, smoking silently and looking at the massive space junk in awed silence.

The engine cut off on the black Porsche Panamera as all four doors swung open. As usual they were fashionably late, the three girls and their male companion planted their feet firmly on the dirt ground. “Doesn’t look that bad ladies,” the freshly dress male spoke as he quickly made his way around the vehicle towards the brunette who clearly looked like the leader of the group. She was wearing a short silky blue strapless dress which looked a tad to elegant for the occasional but than again this was her usual style. She shrugged his comment off as she flicked her straightened hair over her shoulder before turning to her girl friends. “Let’s go meet up with the rest of the boys,” Taylor gestures them to follow as she made her way towards the rundown house were most of the action seemed to be taking place.

As they passed some of their intoxicated school mates most of them seemed to stop partying and just stare at them. Taylor couldn’t help but smirk at the attention she was getting. “OMG TAYLOR you are here…can’t believe we are at the same party,” some drunken girl leapt out in front of them waving her glow stick in their faces. Taylor rolled her eyes, “Neither can I,” she spoke sarcastically as she pushed the girl aside and continue on her way. Look at them all, trying to mix with each other. They are losers for a reason.

“Did you see her outfit it looked like a cat threw up on it,” Tiffany chuckled as she snatched someone’s drink out of their hands.

“Their last message said they were two the left of the house,” Jake spoke as they came to a sudden halt out the front of the house. All four seemed to simultaneously turn their heads to the left and just stared at the various groupings of people leading into the woods. “Isn’t that them,” Tiffany pointed to a group of well-dressed teens sitting around a bonfire. A cheeky smile spread across Taylor’s lips as she stopped her boy toy in the group. “That’s them,” she strutted towards them.

“Hey babe you made it,” Phil immediately leapt to his feet looking like an excited puppy as he approached Taylor to give her a kiss on the lips. Noticing all eyes on her, as his lips touched hers she pulled him closer in to make the kiss more passionate. Phil was a little surprised by her eagerness and just smiled brightly when their lips disconnected. “Of course I did…it wouldn’t be a party now without me.” She chuckled before grabbing his drink and taking a swing from it. Taylor shuddered a little not realising how strong it was. “Are you going to introduce me or what?”

She glanced at his mates looking them over one by one to see if there was anything she liked there. “Oh sorry, hey everyone this is my girl Taylor. Taylor this is Alex, John, Nathan….” She drowned out his voice as she made eye contact with the boy named Nathan. Taylor boldly gave him a wink as she took her seat on Phil’s lap making sure her dress wouldn’t get dirty from the wood. The guys seemed to continue their conversation about something that had happened in their training session.

As Taylor sat there just listening she found herself getting rather bored, especially since no one seemed to be paying much attention to her. Her own mates had joined the group and were all preoccupied in their own discussions. Her blue eyes trailed towards Phil as she smiled at him before leaning in to whisper in his ear, “Want to have some fun?” He nodded as she rose to her feet and grabbed his hand before making her way further into the woods. “Come on…” she pulled at his arm to hurry him up as she giggled like a little school girl.

Taylor then pulled him up against a nearby tree before kissing him. The two seemed to let their hands wonder over each others bodies as they made out in the darkness. All off the sudden they could hear what sounded like an aeroplane or something much bigger flying passed them up above. The two separate immediately as they heads turned up to see what it was. Then there was a loud thump as the ground beneath them began to shake. Phil shoved Taylor aside as he made a run in the opposite direction of where the sound had come from. “What the fuck?” She yelled after him as she picked herself up from the ground. “You dick…” her new dress was now stained with dirt. As she tried to brush herself clean she noticed some boy sprinting passed her and heading towards the sound.

What’s he up to? Taylor couldn’t help her curiosity and decided to follow. She briskly walked after him before stopping seeing a massive crater in the ground up ahead. “What the….” Her mouth dropped open as she stood their staring blankly.

It was quite some time ago already since Ivan had walked up onto a wooden platform in the woods and with some other musicians they had been playing from almost the very start of the party. He looked down to see where exactly he was on the stage, good thing he did because he was almost standing on the heads of the poeple at the front row. The other thing that he noticed as odd was the lenght of the planks they had used for the stage, they seemed too long to manuever through the woods, at least without breaking.

He looked back to the drunk and drugged students who were voilently waving their glowsticks and fake electric candles. Which they had because they had outlawed open flame from their stage, to prevent a fire from starting on the alcohol fumes and plentyfull wood around them, still some wanted to hold a flame. He smiled broadly as their music played on, the group had made some songs together for this party and it seemed the crowd liked them. He loved performing like this, especially in this kind of envoirment, but he just couldn't get himself to go in a band of some kind. He just didn't want to be tied up like that.

Because they knew they would have to play through the entire night they had ensured that they had made a few songs they could play with one man less, so they could drink up and get refreshed without stopping the music. They had even gone as far as bringing a keg of cooled water as none of them seemed to feel okay with playing intoxicated. Although with a clear scent of alcohol in the air Ivan doubted whether they could go through the night without feeling the effects.

A few more songs passed and it was finally time for him to drink up. "Just about time." He thought as he felt how much his mouth had dried up and how much he had been sweating. He jumped behind the stage, sat down and drank some water.

A mere seconds later he heard a rumble that sure as hell wasn't music or the students. He looked over the stage to see what the source was, seeing everyone look at the sky. He turned his eyes to the sky and almost couldn't believe what he saw, a meteor and so close you could almost reach out and grab it. Not much later he heard it impact the ground. Knowing it was a once in a lifetime that you could get so close to a meteor fresh out of the sky he ran towards the crater as fast as he could.

He wasn't the first to arrive it seemed as in the crater some guy asked what the hell that thing was. Ivan carefully slid down the crater edge as he said: "Well, obviously a meteor. But I don't remember that there is a kind like this one." He stood up and almost touched the meteor in the process. "That thing is hot enough to bake you alive, would be friggin stupid to touch it. That is what I can say for certain." The heat coming of the thing was unbelievable, that meteors are hot as hell is obivous, but he never realised they were this hot.
there are things in this world that poeple mustn't touch....WHO CARES!!!

Kain sighed as he leaned back against a tree. He was still trying to figure out why he was even there, it wasnt as if he was against a good party, but lately his mood hadnt been so bright. Life was fine, his new job at the adult emporium was going great, his grades were high and it was looking like he would be getting into the college of his dreams. Even his home life was going good, and that hadnt happened in quite a long time.He sipped at the arizona ice tea he'd brought with him, he wasnt in the mood for booze. He ground his teeth as the loud laughter of a certain person reached his ears.

Only a few feet away, in a thick knot of people, Patrick boon, one of the schools star wrestlers. Tall, blonde, well built, and of course drop dead gorgeous. A girl latched onto both his arms, tossing their hair back and giggling dramatically. Kain rolled his eyes, their attention would only be held for as long as it would take Patrick to flip their skirts. Not that he could blame them, Patrick oozed masculinity and dominace, figure and personality. Those strong arms holding you close as he......Kain blushed deeply and turned away, walking deeper into the forest. " Stupid " he muttered to himself he finished his drink and stuffed the empty can into one of his jacket pockets. " It's over, heh, I guess it isnt really, since it never started to begin with " the essence of a casual encounter that blossomed into more. It had been your classic case of the closet case jock and the promiscuous pansexual.

A secret hook up here and there, each one beginning with a promise that these encounters would never discovered. Kain had been fine at first. But as time passed on, he found emotions other then lust began manifesting. Patrick turned out to be a decent guy and Kain fell prey to the most terrible of plagues: Love. But it was never to be anything and when the slighting chance of discovery arrived, Patrick cruelly severed their ties, and threw Kain under the bus. Spreading rumors that he was obsessed with him, wouldnt leave him alone and was practically a stalker. It was petty and cowardly, Kain could have easily struck back, but his feelings for Patrick stayed swift retribution. So he simply ignored it, it was mostly the schools jock community that hassled him over it and though he had friends in nearly every social circles, he found his lack in that area was nothing to cry over.

Suddenly the sky seemed to light up, Kain looked up and saw a meteorite zoom overhead and crash into the nearby area, making the ground shake. " Well, you dont see that everyday " he muttered he instinctively headed in the direction the space rock landed. Soon he was standing at the edge of a massive crater.

"Yeah, I know that, hence the holy fucking meteors Batman remark." Ash replied, turning his head slightly towards the newcomer. "But how often does a meteor hit earth, especially this close to civilization with no warning, at that speed? I mean, what is it even made of?"

Ash nodded in thoughtful reply as the other guy talked about the extreme heat of the meteor.

"Yeah, I was actually wondering about that. I mean, I'm not surprised it's hot, I'm surprised I don't have any kind of burn or injury from the fall I took straight into the crater." Ash said, grinning sheepishly. "It's possible that I'm slightly inebriated and ran straight into the crater by accident. I mean, I was inches away from that thing, you'd think the heat of the earth around it would still burn me, but I'm totally fine. It's just... weird." Ash finished awkwardly.

Ash took another couple of drags off his smoke, still unable to take his eyes off this once in a life time freak accident of a miracle.

"I wonder if we'll get famous for discovering it, maybe we could make some easy money selling our stories to the paper." He mused, always looking for ways to make money, well, how to make easy money. Ash wasn't a big fan of conventional work. "I'm Ash by the way." He said as an after thought, sticking his smoke in his mouth, and extending his right hand in greeting. "Looks like this party just got interesting huh?"

Just then Jacks and Vi made it to the top of the crater, panting. "What the hell Ash?" They said in exasperated unison. Vi carefully picked her way down to join him at the bottom, and Jacks sat on the sloping edge of the crater and slid down on his butt until coming to a stop on a midsized rock sticking out of the crater wall.

"I think I fancy a spliff." Jacks said, reaching into his jacket, and pulling out a silver cigarette case filled with 15 perfectly rolled spliffs. He removed one from the container, and lit it, before tossing the silver rectangle down to Ash and Vi, who each removed one themselves, and lit up.

"You want one mate?" Jacks called down to the other guy. "Figure we could all use a bit of something to calm the nerves, yeah? I'm Jacks, he's Ash, and she's Vi by the way."

Jacks continued talking, as he was wont to do, beginning a ramble about space men, and alien hunters, that Ash knew from experience could eat up several hours if allowed. For the moment though, he just tuned out his friend, unable to believe the wild turn of events.

Vi elbowed him in the ribs, saying, "Bet you're glad we dragged you here now, huh?"

Ash gave a rye smile in return, "Let's give it a week or so to make sure we don't all have cancer before we start celebrating, yea?" He quipped back at her. His smile slowly turned into a more serious expression as he realized, they had just made direct contact with something that was literally alien to them. Such exposure could have a host of effects depending on what the meteor was made of.

"Let's just all hope this isn't a chunk of uranium or some shit." Ash muttered, drawing deeply on his spliff. "In retrospect, this wasn't the wisest decision I ever made."

Dante and Andre pulled up to the party scene late. That was just their style…okay that was a lie, in reality it had taken Dante the better part of an hour to get Andre to agree to go. It wasn’t that Andre was anti-social simply that, she wasn’t much for the party scene. The more she thought about it the more she disapproved. What kind of person would want to go get wasted, groped and thrown up on? When Andre saw the party she guessed more than 90% of the teenage population liked that kind of thing.

“I’m so excited!” Dante said with a grin that almost made Andre’s cheeks hurt just from looking at it. Andre pulled off her helmet then helped Dante get hers off, as they climbed off Andre’s bike. Andre didn’t like riding in cars, it made her feel…confined…so she had gotten herself a motorcycle, much to Dante’s excitement but slight disapproval.

“That makes one of you…i still think this is a bad idea” Andre muttered as she grabbed a bottle of fireball whiskey before she was even close to the party.
"Oh lighten up..." Dante said with a grin wanting to let loose.
"Ya, cuz the last time we 'lightened up' ended well right?" Andre retorted.
"well its not my fault you vandilized that guys car" Dante said with a grin before she ran over to a bunch of her friends her excitement evident as she jumped up and down happily with them. Andre saw her grab a beer and grimaced. She hated it when her sister got drunk…and beer tasted like bull piss. Her sister, when drunk, did not comprehend the term ‘personal space’ so guys usually took that as an invitation…though it wasn’t.

Not even a full hour passed before she turned to see her sister walking towards the woods with a guy following. Andre didn’t know if Dante had to pee and the guy took it as vag-tag time, or Dante thought she was going to get friendly with him. Either way, it wasn’t going down. She took a step towards their direction and the world spun.

“Well shit” Andre muttered knowing she had drunk just a smidge too much. She pushed forward though knowing for sure she could still kick any guy’s ass there.
She hit the woods just as she heard her sister yell.

“Get away from me you drunken bastard!” Dante yelled then punched the guy in the face. He back handed her, making her land on her ass. That wouldn’t have happened if they hadn’t been drinking. Andre really wanted to say ‘I told you so’ but she didn’t have time as she threw herself at the guy trying to hold her sister down.

“Andre…thank god” Dante said with a sigh of relief as she kicked the guy in the nuts. He swung back catching Andre in the jaw. She stumbled and leaned against a tree, just in time to see him coming at her. Andre threw him back, into a tree but he only stumbled. Shit, maybe a bit too much was just enough to throw the fight his way. Andre grabbed Dante’s hand and ran something she NEVER did unless she was endangering her sister.

“This is all your fault” Andre muttered as she looked over her shoulder trying to make sure the guy didn’t follow. They ran out of the tree line, and into an open area.

“Andre—“
“No, shut up, this happens every time, I told you it would happen again….and now my jaw is bruised and my lip is bleeding” Andre bit out

“But ANDRE--!”

“No- don’t you dare—“she cut off with a muffled scream as she fell, into a crater. She skinned her hands and knees on the way down, but luckily the running had sobered her up enough to realize not only where there others there, but it was hot.

“What. The. Hell?” She muttered looking around.

“This night just keeps getting better and better.” Andre muttered

“Andre are you okay?! I tried to warn you but….” Dante said with a shrug.

“You are so dead when I get up there…”Andre said half-heartedly as she stared at the rock mesmerized.

“Sick!” Michael let out as he stopped around the crater made by the meteor that had fallen. His eyes looked to the others around it, wondering if they knew more about it than he did. Michael didn’t really know any of them too well, so he didn’t say anything. He then pulled out his cell phone and held it up to snap a picture of the meteor in its crater. I took about three photos before moving in closer to the warm. When one of the guys mentioned making a small buck off of the media, Michael couldn’t but think about how lucky he was. The extra money would open up a lot of possibilities.

Michael eyed the meteor rock, walking around it in awe. Not only was it warm, but it illuminated in an array of vibrant colors. He almost wanted to touch it. His sneakers inched closer to the meteor before feeling something move across them.

“Shit! What the fuck!” Michael shouted before kicking at a snake. Unfortunately, he kicked the meteor as well, which pretty much hurt. “Fuck!” Michael cursed again as he pulled his foot up. He was sure he looked embarrassing, but he didn’t care. What he cared about right now, was the pain in his foot and the snake slithering around. That was long lived however as the meteor began to illuminate even brighter than before. “What the…”

What did I do?! That was the last thought that seemed to surface before a powerful shockwave emitted from the meteor. No one could have known that this would happen. How could they? When the light ceased, everyone who had stood around the meteor, lied on the ground unconscious. With the reports of a meteor crashing in the woods, the news and police soon flushed out the party. The teenagers who had stumped upon the meteor were treated and examined at the hospital, but there didn’t seem to be anything wrong with them. The teens were unnaturally healthy for the circumstances as doctors predicted that they might have suffered from some kind of advanced radiation poisoning. The next afternoon, the teens were released from the hospital as they had gained consciousness the next day.

As for the meteor, the light that once came from it ceased. It looked like any hunk of sedimentary rock in the crater. No one could really say what it did to the teens, and within a week, the whole story became a shadow of the week of spring break.

2 weeks after incident...

The guy who had been in the hospital for kicking the meteor two weeks ago was currently dragging his feet through the same hospital again. For the past week his entire body had been sore, and he was experiencing the most worse headaches of his life. He'd taken over the counter medicine and even tried to stretch as much as possible, but he felt like a train had hit him. Today was the worst as he was unable to perform a stroke in his boat without feeling excruciating pain.

Now, he was seated in one of the hospital rooms, awaiting his doctor to check out what was wrong with him. Michael had a guess that the meteor was reason for whatever was happening, but he hadn't heard of anyone experiencing anything like he had. When the doctor walked in, he greeted Michael with a smile.

"Hello, Mike. Um... So tell me what's wrong. You said you have a headache and sore muscles. Is there anything else?"

"No. It's just the pain." Michael responded. he honestly just wanted the man to give him some drugs and let him got to school.

"Since you wrote that this has been going on for a week now, and hasn't gotten any better, I'm gonna see if I can prescribe you for some painkillers. Are you still doing that sport?"

"Yeah..."

"I'm gonna have to advise you to stop until you're feeling better."

"No, come on. We're in the middle of the season."

"Listen, the sooner you do this, the sooner it'll be gone. I'm sure you can jump back into the game before your season is over." The doctor assured. Michael nodded, but didn't agree. His coach would never put him in a race if he missed enough practices. He'd need to be at top condition, but then again, he couldn't row at 100% with these headaches and muscle cramps.

"So that's it?" Michael asked before wincing from a headache coming on. The doctor took a second to think before giving a nod.

"Just stay put right now. When I come back, you can get your subscription and be on your way."

With their high heels on, they strutted down the hallway, their three pairs of eyes stayed pealed open for their prey. They knew exactly who they wanted and where to find him. Although they were required to wear a strict uniform at the school, the three of them always seemed to somehow adjust the uniform in order to make them look fashionable. No matter how many times they were told of for shortening their shirts too much or for over accessorising it didn’t stop them. Taylor would always have her lawyer father get involved, and eventually the teachers and the principle just gave up on the matter. Taylor winked at a few of the boys as she passed them, giving them that little extra hope that maybe they could get a chance with her. However that was very unlikely but she wasn’t going to let them know that because she after all she did like the attention.

They walked into the library and immediately split up, like a pack of wolves hunting. Each one began to search through the bookshelves trying to find the skinny four-eyed nerd. It didn’t take them long to find him, he was busy rummaging through the fantasy section. “Well, look who we have hear ladies…the one and only Arthur Henderson, the smartest boy in school.” Taylor grimaced as he looked up towards her. He was about to turn and make a dash in the opposite direction but Tiffany was already there to stop him. He dropped the pile of books in his hand, “H-H-Hi Taylor…w-w-what brings you here?” Taylor didn’t say another word and just grabbed him around the collar. She dragged him after her into the female bathroom. “EVERYONE OUT,” she yelled before slamming Arthur up against the wall. Her two clones swiftly followed her inside before checking each stall and throwing any girls out that were present. Some girls at first resisted leaving but as soon as they locked eyes with Taylor they immediately packed up their make-up bags and exited. “Please, d-d-don’t hurt me…I-I-I’ll do anything,” he pleaded as he collapsed to his knees frightened out of his life. Tiffany took position up near the door, making sure no unwanted visitors would drop in while Daisy stood by Taylor’s side smiling wickedly as she watched their plan unfold.

“I’m not going to hurt you…I just want a quick kiss,” Taylor brushed her hair over her shoulder as she portrayed an identical smile as Daisy. She stuck her hand out towards him as if she was trying to help him up which was very unusual for her. “A-A-A-A w-w-what?” He stuttered hesitating whether to grab her hand or not. She rolled her eyes, “ A-A-A kiss,” she mocked him before grabbing him up by the shoulders and forcing him to his feet.

Yuck, why would you want to kiss that?

“SHUT UP TIFF! I have no choice.” Taylor glared over at Tiffany who hadn’t said a word since they had entered. Arthur looked confused but before he could respond he felt someone’s cold hands force his head around before feeling soft strawberry flavoured lips pressing up against his. His eyes were wide open with shock from having the most popular girl at school lips on his own. After a few seconds Taylor pushed him away from her wiping her mouth in disgust. “That should do it,” she mumbled underneath her breath before outstretching her palm towards Daisy who handed her a toothbrush and toothpaste. As she brushed her teeth Arthur just stood there in silence while the two clones seemed to do a little victory dance. He blinked twice, and the second time he opened them his eye colour seemed to have slightly changed.

Taylor washed out her mouth before smiling cheekily at Arthur, “Time to go to class ladies.” She signalled her girls, rounding them up before she exited the bathroom. Arthur’s body shuddered before making his way out the door as well. He kept his distance from the three as they all headed towards their Mathematics class. Sit in your usual positions. Taylor and her two clones took their seat in the last few rows next to the window overlooking the football field while Arthur made his way to the front of the class. He took the desk that was right in front of the teacher’s as he began to fiddle with his pen waiting for class to begin.
“Good morning class, nice to see everyone is actually here for the test. Especially you Taylor, no flu today?” The man chuckled to himself before handing out the test sheet. She just rolled her eyes, we will see who laughs last. Tiffany and Daisy giggled as they all locked eyes before staring down at the paper. It was time for their C minuses to turn into A plus. Taylor turned over the first page looking at question one.

Triangle ABC is an isosceles triangle. Angle C and angle B are the base of the isosceles triangle. Find angle C.

She rubbed her temples feeling the question giving her a slight headache. Taylor looked around the class room and noticed each student had their head down and scribbling like crazy on their sheets. She looked to her two best friends seeing them looking confused. Let’s get us those As. She closed her eyes and simultaneously so did her clones. She didn’t really have to close her eyes but it seemed to help her concentrate and focus just on one of them. She was still getting the hang of it all anyway.

Sum of base angles equals 180…minus 56 from angle A equals 124…divided by two equals 67…therefore angle C is 67.

Taylor’s blue eyes seemed to sparkle with excitement as she opened them again. She smiled cheekily before flicking her hair over her shoulder and then continued on down the sheet.

Andre hesitated as she climbed out of her bed. Dante was still clinging to her waist like a lost little girl in her sleep. Dante had been sharing her bed with her for over a week now…because of the night mares. Andre had them too…she felt the fear imitating from her sister, and it matched her own.

She unclenched her sisters fingers from their lock hold around her waist and went to start some coffee. She needed to get ready for work. School would have to wait for today.

“Dante….Dante honey, get up.” Andre said as she came back and shook her twin gently and held a cup of coffee out to her. Dante’s eye lids fluttered open and she blushed.

“Sorry for commandeering your bed again…it’s just…the nightmares—“Dante started but choked up

“Don’t worry about it….I understand….what I’d like to know is why are they back?” Andre wondered out loud.

“I don’t know… They stopped after dad…after dad died.” Dante said quietly. Andre frowned.

“I thought we agreed never to talk about that…that monster” Andre scolded quietly as she went towards the bathroom to clean up. She took a quick shower and dressed.

Dante meditated, trying to clear her mind of all the negative thoughts and pain.

“Ohmmmmm” she murmured under her breath as she counted her heart beats and it slowed quickly.

“You sound like a dyslexic cow” Andre teased as she sipped her coffee and examined her outfit on her mirror. She wore a purple corset and black skinny jeans with her black knee high, high heel boots.

Dante looked her over and grinned.

“Ow ow!” she said then wolf whistled.

“I’ve got to go to work. I’ll be at school by lunch.” Andre said then walked out the door.

Dante sighed and shook her head. Time to dress for school. She put on a pink plaid skirt and a tank top with her powder pink heels.

She examined herself in the mirror before heading out, towards school in her bright yellow bug. Once there she hesitated outside the doors. She didn’t feel right….

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Kallas Redwater on Tue Apr 03, 2012 1:12 pm

As the sun rose through the window of Ivan's room his alarm clock rang at the bed without a response. After a few seconds of ringing tha bed suddenly sprung onto it's side, dropping an empty mass of bedsheets and a pillow onto the ground with a soft thud. "Beat you today." Ivan said already behind his desk putting the finishing touches to his last project. It was a simple pocketwatch he repaired for some guys grandfather, appearantly he took it without asking and broke it. Not that the situation bothered him too much, the money was good and he needed to replace a few of the lamps in his room.

A few minutes later he was done with the watch. He quickly dumped his bedsheets and pillow back onto the bed, for him to sort out in the evening, grabbed the books for today and went to the kitchen. He quickly grabbed himself something to eat and sat down at the table looking at his reflection in the silver collored toaster that recently shorted out. "Too bad I shorted that thing out last week." He thought as his father walked into the kitchen for his morning cup of coffee, well probably it was more sugarwater with coffee flavour than anything else. But it was either that or zombie dad for the rest of the day. Ivan looked at his father and noticed he was pouring the coffee into a bowl of cornflakes. "dad, thats a bowl of cornflakes." Ivan said with a half smile on his face. With a three second delay his father reacted and stopped pouring. "Not again." His father said just as Ivan's mother walked into the kitchen. "Well, that is one way to cut down on the milk." She said bringing up the subject of yesterdays dinner where his father complained about getting fat. His father reacted with an annoyed growl.

Ivan finished his bowl of cornflakes and said to his father: "It's everytime when you come off night shift that you act like this, you really should stop getting up that early in the morning on the day after. I mean you get three days off for a reason." He put his bowl into the dishwasher, being very carefull not to touch any of it's metal parts. "The reason for those days is because we don't get the weekends off and can't really go on vacations, due to the work." His father reacted after almost burning his mouth on his coffee cornflakes. "Speaking about vacations, did you manage to get those two extra days off?"Ivan's mother replied. "Yeah, turned out Frank didn't mind taking two extra night shifts, seems he needed some extra pocket money this month. Well, that makes the both of us happy, since it means I get five days off for a small vacation and he gets his extra money." Ivan's dad said with a sense of satisfaction in his voice.

Ivan grabbed his backpack with books and the repaired pocketwatch from the corner of the room and walked out of the backdoor and into the garage. he opened the garage door and rolled his quad out of the garage. "I cleaned the filters and replaced the sparkplugs yesterday, so it should run a bit better now." His father said through the kitchen window as he saw Ivan exit the garage. Ivan smiled at his father as he closed the garage door behind him. "Yeah, thanks again for that dad." He said as he put his helmet on. He seated on the saddle and looked at the deep blue panels of the quad. It was a street legal vehicle, though he got pulled over with it quite a few times. Then he rode off towards school thinking about how funny it was that almost every male from his father side of the family and he himself were tinkerers and/or engineers.

"First class chemestry." Ivan thought as he walked through the school doors. Behind the doors there was one guy waiting quite nervously. "here's the watch, it was just a loose spring, putting it back wasn't too much of a hassle, thought the thing is in bad shape. It has more wear and tear than you'd expect with such age." Ivan said to the guy showing the pocketwatch. He guy quickly passed him the money and the pocketwatch changed hands. "You really saved me this time." The guy said. "Well you should return it as soon as possible, because to me it seems like one of those gears is on the verge of breaking, so you might not be out of the woods yet." Ivan replied as he walked away to his class.

After about twenty to thirty minutes, Michael was already heading to his first period class. He would be pretty late, which he was sort of hoping on. He didn’t think he’d be able to take chemistry this early in the morning with such a headache. He’d taken the painkillers, but it would probably be a while before they kicked in. He was dressed in uniform, but seemed to be fidgeting in it. The only thing he didn’t like about being enrolled here was the uniform. It felt so suffocating, and topped with the aching head and body, he wanted to just leave.

With his backpack, charming smile, and uniform on, Michael entered his classroom. All eyes seemed to land on him with the way he suddenly walked in while the teacher was at the board. From the looks of it, he was reviewing the exam for tomorrow. The teacher looked at Michael, waiting on his excuse for coming in thirty minutes after class had started.

“I was at the hospital.” Michael said as he presented his excuse letter issued by the school’s main office to the teacher. The teacher collected it and nodded for Michael to sit down.

“We’re reviewing for the exam.” The teacher informed, which basically meant, “start writing everything down”. Michael nodded before looking at the classroom full of students. With no seating arrangement, he’d just have to pick the first open seat. Shit. Michael thought as there seemed to only be seats in the back row. The second row was usually where he usually sat. The teacher didn’t call on him as much, and he’d get to learn as well as anyone in the front. At least it was only review.

When Michael made his way to the back row, his face showed how bad the pain was beginning to get. He wondered why that doctor didn’t advise him to stay home. He felt like he got hit by that meteor from two weeks ago. He wasn’t one to complain though. Michael took his seat and got started on catching up with what was written on the board. Hopefully someone could help him get the notes from the beginning of the class, and hopefully this pain would subside.

The team's star full back was sitting alone on the bleachers looking out on the empty football field. There was no practice today so there was really no reason for the young man to be out there yet he found himself unable to actually go to class. He barely had been able to sleep the past two weeks. He would wake up after having terrible nightmares he couldn't remember and suffering horrible migraines. It all started that night at the party. Deep in the woods a group of kids found a crashed meteorite. Jason Wheeler was one of those kids. Unlike the others however he refrained from joining the small group that had formed around it. Instead he stayed back and observed the going ons from the tree line just out of sight. He remembered the light and the burst of energy that shot out of the crater. He remembered the kid from the crew team got put in the hospital because of it. After the incident it appeared that Michael Hayes was not the only one suffering the repercussions of that night. Jason rubbed his head in frustration as a slow, pressure began to build up. He gritted his teeth as the pressure built slightly before dissipating.

"The hell..."

Jason muttered to himself before looking back up at the field. Two of the professors were walking down the track. No doubt they had spotted him and assumed he was cutting class. Jason looked at his watch. He was late for his first period but could probably avoid the detention if he left now. He grumbled under his breath but got to his feet and walked off the bleachers heading back to school. He walked down the lonely halls in silence, most of the other students were already in class. He reached his Chem class just as the kid he had been thinking about earlier sat down. Jason's eyes instantly locked onto the kid as if he'd seen a ghost. He had been wanting to talk with him since that night. He needed to know if he had any idea what had happened. What that light was and more over, if he was suffering the same problems. The teachers voice snapped Jason out of his daydreaming.

"Mr. Wheeler... Don't tell me you were in the hospital too."

Jason turned in blatant confusion.

"Uhh what?"

"I don't know how your other professors deal with you beloved football players but in my class you are actually going to have to do some work if you hope to pass. I have no problem failing you even if you put a thousand strikes on the score board."

"Touchdowns ma'am."

Jason corrected. A couple of the kids snickered at the teachers flub. The teacher just glared at Jason.

"Well thank you for the correction Jason, now take a seat. You have an exam coming up. I hope you can pay attention long enough to prepare for it."

Jason sighed under his breath as he readjusted his backpack as it hung limply over his one shoulder.

"Yes ma'am."

He said before heading over to sit in the vacant seat beside Michael Hayes. Once the teacher had resumed their lecture and her attention was off Jason he leaned over and tapped the guy arm.

"Hey, man. I'm Jason. I was at the party two weeks back. I saw you in that crater. You alright?"

Jason asked in a whisper.
I should go.

The chemestry class today was especially boring, no new subjects, just reciting the knowlege that Ivan already had gained the first time they covered it. Still he was making notes on everything the teacher said and wrote. His notebook was orderly and written in a nice handwriting, probably the perfect opposite of the handwriting one would find on his tests, which seemed a perfect example of a "doctor's handwriting".

After writing a load down his hand got a break as some guy entered the class. One of those sporty guys, appearantly he had been to the hospital. The guy walked to the back of the class and took a seat right next to him. He always sat in the back of the class, he just didn't like the idea of having everyone staring over his back. Actually the idea of having no sense of what is happening behind him was a bit worse.

Just as the guy sat down another sports guy came into the class. This one didn't even have an explanation, all he did was react like a dog and correct the teach on a sports term. The guy sat next to the other sporty guy who had entered the class seconds before him. Ivan turned his head to the two as he heard the blonde jock talk. "I'll let you copy my notes of what you missed, afterall you shouldn't fail school on a hospital visit." He said to the guy who was effectivly in the middle. Then he looked slightly to the other guy and said: "I'll let you copy my notes too, but only because I'd hate to annoy the teachers with having you another year."

"Mr. Blackheart, we both know you don't need this review for your grade, actually I don't even know why you came to class today, but please keep quiet others do need this review." The teacher said to Ivan who had turned his head and put up a small grin.

"I was just telling these guys they could lend my notes after class, afterall you wouldn't want to have him in your class again next year." Ivan said giving a small nod in the direction of the blonde jock.

"Well... I suppose, I might have overreacted a bit." The teacher said confirming what Ivan said, followed by some laughter from fellow classmates.

Michael had been sitting in his seat, occasionally rubbing his head while writing down the notes on the board. Michael was starting to hate today already with how it started until the star fullback of the football team, Jason Watson entered the classroom. It wasn’t his appearance that picked up Michael’s mood, but his correcting of the teacher about scoring in football. He only smiled at the comment, but returned to jotting down the notes on the board as fast as he could. He was a bit behind after all. Michael didn’t expect what happened next.

When Jason tapped his arm, Michael completely stopped to look at him. He wondered what the guy could want as they really didn’t know each other, but Michael figured it was probably a favor. Instead, a question came. One that he hadn’t heard for the first time, except this time it was from someone who was actually close enough to see him make his front page story. After the whole meteor incident and being in the hospital, Michael had been getting calls and text messages throughout his entire spring break. Even his teammates wanted to know every single detail, and they weren’t ones to be nosy.

Michael was ready to answer with a simple ‘yeah’, until he heard Ivan offer to give his notes to him after class.

“Sure… Thanks.” Michael replied before the teacher drew her attention to Ivan when he had offered his notes to Jason. It was then that Michael’s attention turned to Jason again. He was about to speak in a really low voice once the teacher got back to the review, but he ended up wincing and rubbing his right temple. “Fuck…” Michael whispered under his breath. “I wish I was alright… This pain… it came after the meteor. I’m not even sure, but a few days after I felt like a bus hit me. The doctors said no one has come in with my symptoms all at once, so I…”

“Mr. Hayes, just because you have an excuse for being late, doesn’t mean you have an excuse to talk during my class.”

“My bad… I was asking him if we could help each other study after school.” Michael lied before giving her a smile and then seemingly returning to jotting down notes. What Mike was really doing was writing a note down, middle school style to Jason. He figured he’d be borrowing Ivan’s notes anyway, and from what Michael knew, he was the top student in the class. Michael tore the sheet of paper out of his notebook before handing it over to Jason. Talking would only get the two jocks into trouble with how well this woman’s hearing was. On the sheet of paper read, What about you? Is anything up with you or anyone you know?

Michael really wanted to figure out if he was the only one experiencing this, just so he’d have a reason to blame the meteor. He’d definitely kick it again for this pain. He really hoped the doctor’s guess was right though. A little dehydration and growing pains… At least that was a natural answer.

Jason took the note and after reading it quickly he glanced up to see if the teacher was watching. With the teachers attention firmly locked on her lecture Jason jotted down his response on the note.

Migraines mostly. And I haven't been able to sleep since that night. You're having headaches too right? That's really weird. Who else was all there that night? I could hardly tell from where I was at.

With that Jason slid the note back to Michael after making sure the teacher was still not watching.

After passing the note to Jason, Michael continued to copy down the notes from off the board. This test going to be a bitch to study for, but he was sure he’d at least get a C grade on it. What he was really focused on, was what Jason’s response would be.

When the paper landed back onto his desk, he read it quickly before glancing at Jason again. Michael couldn’t believe this guy was having the same symptoms as himself. This made him believe that the meteor might have really had something to do with this headache. Or maybe it was just chemistry… Michael started writing his reply to the jock, before glancing over to Ivan. Wasn’t this guy there? Michael thought. The guy seemed fine though. He was sitting up, and looking healthier than Michael’s better days. Michael’s eyes then locked with the teacher’s who was speaking about isotopes while looking straight to the back of the classroom. Michael’s head dropped to continue the not that read.

The only people I knew that were there, was this guy sitting next to me, Taylor Jenkins, and those two hot twin chicks. I can’t remember everyone else. I have some painkillers if you need them. I don’t think they work too well though. I still feel like shit.

“Here’s the notes.” Michael said as he passed the paper to Jason right in front of the teacher’s line of sight.

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Anansi on Sun Apr 08, 2012 3:53 pm

Two weeks after the meteor incident, Ash was sitting outside the school, under the bleachers, on a ragged, red couch, smoking cigarettes and talking with his best mates Jacks and Vi. Things had gotten decidedly weird after that night. The three of them had bolted when the cops showed up, barely waking up in time, all of them dazed, with the other kids who'd been there still laying on the ground passed out. None of them could have afforded the hospital bills, or the consequences of the doctor's finding out about the drugs in their systems. Jacks had spent the next week barely getting out of bed, sick as a dog. Vi was wearing shades constantly now, her eyes super light sensitive, mere lamps causing her intense migraines if looked upon. Ash had been feeling fine surprisingly. Better than fine.

His morning free-runs through the city had started to become unbelievable, it was like he never got tired, he could move faster, jump farther, react instantly. Within two weeks he had increased the duration of his heart pounding, semi-legal excursions from an hour tops, to three or four hours at least. He felt amazing these days, his body buzzing with energy. The one downside was the difficulty he was having sleeping, but even that just gave him more time to parkour his way through the moonlit city.

The other day something really weird had happened though. He was making a simple jump, from the roof of a two story to the roof of a one story across the alley, just a running leap, and a tuck and roll on the landing. But as he jumped he felt this surge of energy, and he went sailing through the air, past the one story, all the way into the street on the other side of the building. And he landed, lightly, as if dropping a total of four feet, with no tuck, no roll, just a slight crouch. The next day the power went off in his house when he touched the microwave, and he felt the electricity surge into his body, and just... stay there, buzzing through him. Something weird was happening to him.

So as Ash sat on the couch beneath the bleachers, he wasn't paying the usual amount of attention to his surroundings, and neither were Vi or Jacks. And so for the first time in a long time, Ash was on his way to class, a security guard dragging him by the arm, Jacks, still grinning, in the guard's other hand. Vi had lost her glasses and got sent to the nurse when she fainted from the pain off the sun touching her sore eyes.

The guard opened up the door to the class, and tossed the two boys in, barely even bothering to explain to the teacher, who turned to them in disapproval, and motioned them to the back of the class with an exasperated sigh. Ash noticed the kid who had kicked the rock, and a few others from the incident where in the class as well. News to him, though it wouldn't have been if he'd ever come to class and actually payed attention. He wondered if they had experienced any similar weirdness since the accident.

The teacher was deliberately pretending she couldn't see him as most usually did, something about the blatant disregard for authority, and complete apathy in the face of punishment made most adults think Ash and his friends were more trouble than they were worth. Ash took advantage of this to write up a note, fold it into an airplane, and toss it to land perfectly on the desk of the kid who had kicked the rock.

The note, if the kid were to unfold it from it's airplane state and read it, said:

Hey, how's the foot? Experiencing any weirdness since then? - Ash

Dante skipped into class late, as usual. she smiled at the teacher who simply waved her to a seat. She nodded and sat in the back next to a bunch of boys passing notes. she smiled in their direction recognizing some of them from the party. when they got their assignment she whizzed through it, with only half her attention on the class, the other half on the boys. She heard something about notes and looked back.

"hey, do you really have a copy of the notes? you'd be my hero if you did" she said to the boy who had told the teacher he was just giving the other one notes. Andre would kill her if she didn't get the notes down for her.

Andre started work quietly hoping her boss wouldn't be in today....he was a total perv and he had threatened more than once to fire her for theatening to turn him in for being a total pig.

After passing the note off to Jason, someone else walked in late. Michael wouldn’t have thought anything of the person’s entrance until he noticed that it was the guy that was right near him when the meteor basically blew up in his face. Michael didn’t even know they were in the same class though. He looked fine as ever as well, and he had been right there. I’m probably thinking too much. Michael thought before returning to his notes. He tried to write as fast as he could so he could keep up, but his palm started to ache. That, on top of the pain he already felt caused him to stop for a bit and just watch what the teacher wrote on the board. His eyes glanced toward Jason before he felt something swiftly run against his hand that had been rested on the desk.

Michael looked down, spotting a paper airplane. He then looked to the direction it came from. It had to be from the guy who had just walked in, but what did he want? Does he want to know what happened too? Or is he just bothering me? Michael gave the guy a questioning look before noticing one of twins he remembered being at the meteor crash in classroom. He wondered if there was a memo about being late today, but then again, it was just a review for the test. Michael grabbed the paper airplane and noticed a bit of writing on it. His eyes widened once he read what was written before looking toward Ash. This is crazy…

Michael started to write a reply, though he doubted he could just toss a paper airplane off to the guy before the class ended. There seemed to be only several minutes left anyway. He was just about done with his response until Dante turned around to talk to him. She had asked for the nonexistent notes loud enough for the teacher to look in his direction. That’s when the woman noticed the half re-made paper airplane on his desk. He looked to the teacher like a deer in headlights before looking to Dante with a bewildered expression.

“Um…Fuck…” His head began to throb worse than ever before. It was enough to make him forget he was in class and actually put both hands to his temples.

“Is everything alright Mr. Hayes?” The teacher asked as Michael’s face showed that he was in a great deal of pain. He let out a low groan as the pain intensified.

“Shit shit shit shit shit…. I gotta… I gotta go to the nurse.” Michael said as he grabbed his back pack and shoved everything on his desk into it. He didn’t even wait on the teacher’s permission and just walked out of class. Michael literally felt like his head was going to explode. I tried to walk as quickly as he could to the nurse’s office, but he was a bit afraid that his brain would be mush before he got there.
