This thread is where players playing faction leaders post information about their group.

Faction Name:
The Inquisition

Leader
Doran the Bastard

Description:

An order beyond the common guards of Korrigan or the soldiers of the Darini army, the Inquisition was originally an order of witch hunters renowned for their brutality. However, when laws banning magic in the Darini cities were lifted, the Inquisition was contracted by the king to focus on criminals. Now, they are an elite task force dedicated to hunting and prosecuting the most wanted outlaws in the kingdom. They are notorious for their merciless nature and unorthodox methods for extracting information.

Ranks

[Courtesy of Nekohina]

High Inquisitor, Archon, Ascendant*, Champion*, Chosen*, Paladin (leader in something like a city), Justicar (lowest ranking officer allowed to act as judge, also the highest ranking officer in something like a town), Inquisitor (the officer handed the writ and usually the highest officer most expect to see), Devotee (leader of the smallest unit size when deployed), Initiate (common rank and file).

The asterisks denote ranks that don't necessarily have to exist but are created if an Archon wants someone to act on their behalf over 2 cities within the same province - a Chosen would be said immediate overseer. But if an Archon finds no need to have people oversee and coordinate things within a province to that level, they can just directly oversee Paladins themselves.

In addition there's Orders a member can join to be a specialist or auxiliary member.

Major Orders and their specialties:

Templars: Defense of the Order; such as territorial headquarters or even members if necessary
Whispers: Spies / Assassins ; For finding criminals and administering "swift justice" when necessary
Mystics: Magicians / Scholars - Magic users because the Inquisitions Hatred of Magic is more accurately put as "Magic outside of Inquisition Control"
Vigilant: Hunt runaways and acts as internal police
Builders: craftsmen - they make and maintain the weapons, armor, buildings, etc.

Membership of an Order being put at the end and titles being in the front of the name.
Example being if Doran were part of Order of Mystics and were say an Archon he'd be addressed as Archon Doran the Mystic.

Faction Name:
The Court of Crows

Leader:
Huli Jing, the Queen of Crows

Description:

Once a crew of petty burglars and pick pockets, the Court of Crows has been transformed by Huli Jing into a force of skilled spies, blackmailers, and thieves. They are everywhere, from the marble mansions of Southeld to the slums on the border of Korrigan. The majority are informants, with their eyes and ears attentive for information that might prove useful to their Queen. They have risen to the top of the crime world and, led by Huli Jing, have managed to outlast many of their rivals.

They are based out of the Aviary, the most popular brothel in Korrigan. It's veiled rooms and beautiful "songbirds" have attracted soldiers and sailors and nobles alike. The first floor is a bright open space filled with merriment, spirits, and music. The clients are often entertained by dancers and singers, who serve to distract from the devious dealings of the brothel's Madame.

The second floor is a perfumed maze of halls and dark rooms where clients are led by their songbirds of choice. Unknown to them, there are false walls, hidden passageways, and peepholes everywhere, meant for the Aviary workers to disappear into should the need arise.

Ranks

The Queen of Crows: Leader of the Court, the Queen has final say in all decisions and has ultimate control of the gang.

Raven Lords: Huli's underbosses, the Raven Lords are charged with overseeing the small groups within the Court and bringing information to the Queen. They are responsible for recruiting new crows, but must also keep those recruits in line.

Magpies: The muscle of the Court, magpies specialize in violence. Though their gang focuses heavily on discretion and manipulation, these few bruisers are brought in to act as bodyguards, bouncers, and enforcers when the time calls for it.

Jackdaws: While most crows hide in plain sight, Jackdaws prefer shadows and rooftops. They specialize in breaking and entering, well known for climbing walls, picking locks, and escaping without a trace. They are used to steal important items, spy on specific targets, and end lives with discretion.

Crows: Standard members of the Court, crows can be found throughout Korrigan. They are primarily spies keen on discretion and secrecy, but can also act as thieves, muggers, or charlatans if it is asked of them.

Songbirds: The easiest in the Court to find, songbirds are prostitutes under the employ of Huli. Most of them find residence in the Aviary, but the Court has at least one set of eyes in every brothel in Korrigan. They are valuable gatherers of information, using alcohol and flesh to loosen the lips of their clients. Since Huli ascended to the throne, she ensures that all songbirds are trained to wield daggers, ensuring that they can protect themselves.

Blackbirds: Although not true members of the Court, blackbirds are the most essential and populous pieces of Huli's network. They are the unseen people of Korrigan; orphans, beggars, gossiping wives, and servants. They are the eyes of the Court, exchanging information and rumors for a small amount of gold.

~ We are always watching ~

Faction Name:
The House of Eyes

Leader:
Belkas Lagos the Spider, Guild Master

Description:
Headquartered in The sewers beneath Korrigan, The House of Eyes is a gang spoken of sparsely but its influence is all but unseen. This Syndicate of professional thieves, spy's and assassins is infamous for undertaking complicated heists and quiet dealings of the utmost secrecy among any willing to seek out their services. While a good portion of the guild walks the streets during the day. at night they stalk bellow and above the streets, creeping in and out of the shadows. Members of the guild specialize in stealing objects of varying value, carrying out all manner of assassinations, loaning coin and or goods to potential entrepreneurs or to help someone pay off their debts, in hopes of a payback. Thieving is the staple in the gangs activities since its inception and is still strong to this day. Curently though Master Lagos has taken a liking to information brokering and networking. paying and hiring the beggars, shop owners and street urchins as extra eyes and ears for the guild. Most citizens view this organization unfavorably, but some see them as necessary. Quite a few merchants have taken to supplying and paying the guild in exchange for their financial aid and protection. The House of Eyes has quickly gained a strong hold in the cities politics and some minor strings in the local law enforcement due to their ability to bribe, intimidate and extort the officials and guards by exploiting their greed or by threatening to reveal whatever embarrassing and potentially damning secrets to the public. If push comes to shove many have woken up with a dagger next to them along with a note saying " We Will always find you." People of interest fleeing the city or flat out disappearing is not unheard of. Belkas and his house's dealings have slowly encroached on the businesses of the some of the other gangs, though not dramatically. He plays a dangerous game by elbowing into the Court of Crows and their information monopoly. Whether this is a series of calculated risks or sheer recklessness is up for debate.

Ranks

Guild Master: Leader of the House at large, the Master has final say in any and all decisions in the gang and its dealings. Only takes on a job personally if they feel its worth their time and requires a level of professionalism. Has complete command over all facets of the guild.

The Night Lords: The under bosses of The guild master. Each controls a single branch of the syndicate and its workings. All must heed any and all orders given by the guild master.

- The Spiders Fangs: You are never truly safe. These members are the assassins, poisoners, gutter runners, and cleaners of the guild. All have been personally trained and only take direct orders from their Night lord or the guild master. They are in charge of all wetwork contracted to the guild or ordered by the master. The smallest group in the guild but also the most effective, only the elite and most dedicated members are allowed to be "Fangs".

- The Watchers: Ever feel like you are being watched? Its probably because one of the House of Eyes hidden spy's has their gaze trained on you. They are not the most numerous members of the guild but are steadily growing and are slowly but surely creeping into every area of the city they can. The watchers can be simple hired beggars and homeless who wander the streets. Those who are always overlooked often have the easiest time picking up gossip or the occasional juicy secret.

- The Thieves: Its finders keepers after all, even if it was never lost. With its roots as a thieves guild, The house has a reputation for having an excellent collection of cut purses, pickpockets, cat burglars, and many other people with a passion for taking whats not theirs. Everyone in the guild is encouraged to learn a few tricks of the trade. Thieves make up the backbone of the guilds structure, with everyone starting as a thief of some sort and providing a quota for the first three months of membership upon initiation. There are no valuables safe from the spiders fingers.

- The Keepers: these members are found in every branch and all take orders from the guild master and night lords. All are responsible for maintaining the guilds banking, records, forgeries and other paperwork.
