This is the app code where you give us a general idea of your character concept. Fill in the app as the code asks for, and follow the capitalisation details as specified. The content should focus on your character as a whole. If you were a GM, what would you want to first know about someone's character concept? That's how you should approach it. We'd rather not read through a lot of detail, and would prioritize being clear and concise about your ideas.

Please check the registry to ensure your FC and Arcana aren't already taken. Images should be stills, and not GIFs. Please remember that while people can share minor arcana, it's generally not preferred to do so in the roleplay.

Liliane is an aspiring engineer, and an inventor at heart. Her mind is a tornado of blueprints, only select few ever coming into creation. With patience to match a sloth, any task she takes willingly is aimed to be perfect. Any amount of time, trial, error,
whatever needed to get the job done. Despite specializing in magitech she finds the classes dreadfully boring, having self-taught much of the material.

This fervor is only realized when it comes to engineering and creation. Most of the time Lili is an airhead. Doodling in class, barely passing others, not hearing words spoken right in front of her. While annoying she is often forgiven. Being easygoing, friendly, and quick to apologize helps with that.

Magitech is the bridge between the two halves of her family. Her father is of diluted blood, his mother not being a mage at all. That grandmother is a mechanic and the closet of all of her family. Her mothers half of the family is what she would call 'uppity and afraid of a little grease'. Yet she cannot hate them, as they are some of the most kind and generous people in their own way. To bridge the gap by utilizing two extremes, that is her Temperence.

      unique magic
Lili is in possession of a unique rune that must be used for her personal magic. When placed unto objects, Lili is able to channel mana into the rune even from a distance. The rune requires a steady stream of mana, and the magic ceases to work if it does not receive mana for several seconds.

While active, the object with the rune on it gains what can be described as rudimentary sentience. The object is also hardened, and depending on weight gains the ability of flight. Lili can channel mana into multiple of this runes at once, and it drains very little of her mana. The objects follow her directions to the best of their abilities, and do not require verbal instructions only mental.

Whenever she is controlling an object like this, she has coined the term of calling them 'Tempered'. Her record is controlling thirty objects simultaneously for two hours straight. That is to say that if she is tempering only one or two objects the drain on her mana is insubstantial.

Aster is a picture of optimism and fulfilment. A pure blooded child coming from a background of high nobility, there isn't a single thing to worry about in the world for him. Having reached the age of adolescence, Aster is a savvy, confident and courageous teenager. Agreeable by nature and noble at heart, his amiable personality and high level of tolerance allows him to get along well with even the most disagreeable of people. His purity of spirit allows him to be true to others and most importantly himself, and Aster never hesitates to express his emotions freely, be it amazement, amusement, anger or fear.

Despite the lessons his Father had drilled into him at a young age about how to control one's desires and practice self discipline, Aster is ultimately still a teenager that is more concerned about say how he's going to get enough money for the new magitech video game or getting more free time than the matters concerning the entire country. Always looking out for curious sights and new ways to have fun, Aster is an active and often mischievous teen that can be seen wandering the streets of Edruria often rather than being in the dorms.

He is kind and loyal to most, always looking out for others and finding ways to help. Optimism being the most definitive trait of his character, Aster is much like the sun on times of darkness, always casting a bright light with a grin and a promise that things are going to be just fine. He bounces back from defeat twice as prepared to face obstacles again, and nothing can get him down or prevent him on getting whatever he sets his mind to.

That said, as virtuous as this golden boy might be, he is not averse to fighting. Something that will definitely result in a fight with him is insulting his hairstyle. Considering it a mark of honor as a man, Aster will never forgive any insults or injury to it, painstakingly combing it every few minutes.

      unique magic
Aster's unique magic allows him to revert back to an optimal state. In this state, all wounds are healed and everything he lacks or wants is given to him, including enhanced strength and speed. All negative effects that might be inflicted onto his body in that period of time is canceled. Covered in flames, Aster can keep going for hours without feeling any pain or fatigue, having the strength to lift and throw boulders and the speed to outrun a small motorcycle. This optimal mode could be used for thirty minutes a day before it depletes him of his mana, and depending on whether or not he chooses to use the mode solely on certain activities he could be faster and stronger. Thirty minutes each day he might as well be a demigod walking the earth, but for the rest of the time he is unable to use his major arcana again. Of course, this is a rather underdeveloped power and will only get stronger as time pass.

Rich kid with a strong work ethic. Charles (Chase) is in pursuit of the happiness he envies in others. Like this magic, Chase wants to learn from others to shape something his own. His power allows him to take and distribute existing attributes of the world around him. His goal and ability alike aim for change.

      character
Money makes the world go around. This simple, yet all-encompassing fact has been drilled into Charles from a young age by his father. With the best of intentions, his father made Charles work for everything. Simple luxuries such as the lazy chair or a dessert were out of Charles' reach until he found a task that the duke deemed equal to the privilege. Jealous his father's privileges, this made Charles industrious. The household soon affectionately nicknamed him Chase, for his desire to taste the luxuries that so seductively dangled in front of him. Yet in his best attempts to teach his son how to succeed, Duke Rutherford lost sight of something more important...

Where his father made Charles earnest and determined, his mother's side of the family liked to spoil him. His aunts, uncles and grandparents spoiled Charles like they did their own children. His mother, Elaine, herself found it difficult to bond with her son as he grew up with much of the character of the man she had divorced. Aware of this, Elaine's interactions with her son were affectionate but few. She put great importance on Charles his education and manners, so he might become at least more of a gentleman than his father ever was. In time, Elaine learned to open herself up more, but always would she detest the nickname Chase.

Despite their misgivings, Chase knew both his parents loved him and taught him the best they knew. Yet, even as he started successfully stock trading in elementary and could charm the socks off of almost anyone, Chase found that he, just like his parents... He didn't feel fulfilment. It was strange. The common man yearned for money and status like his father's and each of his peers dreamed to become as accomplished as his mother's family. Yet, despite this yearning, they were often happier than those they so envied. They used what little they had to create happiness – yet with so much more at his disposal... Why couldn't Chase?

      He needed to change.

      unique magic
Using a two catalysts, a sender and receiver, an attribute from one source can be used by another. Each catalyst is a physical object. An attribute can be either magical or physical. The source can be practically everything as long as it has physical shape or is contained in something that has physical shape.

For example, let's say the catalysts are two coins. If a fire mage holds the sender-coin, whoever holds the receiver-coin can use their fire spells. If the sender-coin is given to a pro-wrestler, the receiver-coin could grant it's holder increased strength and stamina.

Attributes that can be borrowed extend to those of an object's or animal's. Placed on on a brick, the receiver could grant the ability to make it's holder heavy and/or sturdy like one. If placed on a bloodhound, the receiver could for example gain their sense of smell.

The weight that one carries in their heart is an intangible force that cannot be directly measured, but for Emilio Florentine that weight is enough to bear for a lifetime. Disagreeable, prideful, and stubborn as a mule, Emilio carries himself with a bitter resentment of someone that had to grow up too fast. Hostile and condescending, Emilio comes off as being abrasive and potentially inflammatory in the presence of other people, often putting them down with cutting remarks and mocking words.

Conniving and intelligent, Emilio is not above using others to reach his goals. The ruthlessness cultivated inside of him has not been diminished in the slightest despite his upbringing in the Polonius house for the better part of the last decade of his life. For the most part, he makes no pretences of being morally good. It is only to the authorities and the higher-ups that he puts up an front to- appearances are important to further his plans, and to keep up his image of being a good student is of the utmost importance. Call him two-faced, but Emilio hardly cares about the opinion of his peers. All that matters is the end result, and if he must step on a few (or many) toes to get there, the so be it.

Despite honing his mask of discipline and calmness through the years, Emilio is inherently still an irrational person. He flies off the handle at the drop of a pin- it is all too easy to anger him in some way. While he masks that part of him well enough, he would often seek petty revenge in subtle ways to make his victims' life hell. Leaving no evidence behind that he was behind those acts, Emilio is a master of eluding punishment, never giving the opposition a chance to pin the blame on him.

Inside, however, Emilio is a far cry from what his actions towards others might lead them to think he is. Filled with self-hatred for being inadequate as the second fiddle to Aster, as well as being unable to prevent his parents' death, he masks his inner turmoil by hurting the people around him, creating an impenetrable fortress between himself and his peers. Determined to rise above everyone else so he would never be put in a position of vulnerability again, Emilio refuses to let anything in his way deter his goal. Shying away from others to walk his own path, Emilio strikes a lone figure on his long road to forgive himself for his shortcomings with no end in sight.

      unique magic
Emilio has the power to enter into a mirror dimension. When he enters the mirror dimension, he becomes intangible in the so called 'real world', and cannot be perceived. For example, he can be standing at a location and people will walk through him because technically, he does not exist there. This allows for him to be completely isolated from the world. He can still observe what happens in the real world, but he cannot interact with anything either. When he is in the mirror dimension, there is no means of harming him unless he exits from that space, using a designated 'wormhole'. A 'wormhole' can be placed anywhere, with a rune imbued with his personal magic. The precondition is that the 'wormhole' must be set down before he enters into the mirror dimension, otherwise he cannot reenter the 'real world' from the mirror dimension. The runes must be active the entire time he is in the mirror dimension, otherwise he cannot return. He cannot remain in the mirror dimension indefinitely, as keeping the rune active requires a constant flow of mana that becomes extremely taxing after an extended period of time. He can place up to as many as 3 inactive runes at once, but he can only activate one during any given time that he enters the mirror dimension. He cannot change the location of the active rune when he is in the mirror dimension.

Aside from that, Emilio is able to trap others in his mirror dimension. Those that get trapped cannot use their magic in the mirror dimension and are unable to escape after they become entrapped. If more than one person is trapped, they cannot perceive or interact with each other. The only way to escape from this is if the person has planted their own 'wormhole' beforehand, or if someone defeats Emilio in the 'real world'.

Image
      character
Leo is the poster child of a pure blood major arcana, even if his origins may be humbler than his other major counterparts. He's a quietly charming young man who excels in his classes, with a popular face that never fails to have a smile ready. If his reception towards those of Diluted Blood is a little cooler, it's still one of the more polite reactions one might have in their presence. He's reliable, educated and someone many would aspire to be.

      On the surface at least.

Leonexis goes to great lengths to keep up his pretenses, with very few aware of his true personality. Duplicity is the name of his game and he plays it with a practised hand. He feels nothing but disdain towards those of Diluted Blood, but refuses to give anyone ammunition against him. The polite but distanced approach he takes is enough to appease the more conservative members of society, but doesn't offend those on the receiving end. Each and every action he does is a step towards being acknowledged. He does this to be remembered and make his mark on the world; Leo hates being forgotten or ignored. Like the tower in his representative card, his mask is built on a foundation of lies and pride.

Much of the tower arcana representation will occur in the roleplay itself, and so I cannot reveal the details.

      unique magic
Leo calls his power the "garden path", from the idiom "lead down the garden path". As it implies, his power is directly tied to deceit, whether it be of the senses, mind or heart. Essentially, he has the ability to make his target believe anything he wants. They must, however, meet certain criteria before he can activate his magic.

Physical deceit, which is the manipulation of the physical senses such as sight and hearing, is the easiest form of his magic. He can make one see what isn't there, or make them think they hear a particular person's voice. Most students and faculty of Aurelius think this is the extent of his abilities.

A very small handful of people know it can extend to something as extreme as overriding one's personal beliefs and emotions. For example, he can make someone believe they're in love with him; this, however, is quite taxing on him. When it's a belief as strong as this he can only really handle one on a constant basis.

Of the gods. That is the mantra of Nasrin’s family, and they say it enough to occasionally make it annoying. Despite that, she holds true to its meaning. Nasrin is devout and reverent, knowing life as it is due to the gods’ benevolence and mercy, and seeks to implement such things in her own life. Eventually this will mean joining the clergy, but in the meantime she strives to emulate divine virtues in her everyday behavior. While sometimes difficult when frustration and anger take hold, it’s ultimately not a difficult thing to try and be a pleasant and helpful person, with varying degrees of success. Sometimes, though, she worries that some people may be taking advantage of her willingness to help and then immediately becomes anxious over if such a thought is selfish.

Besides that, Nasrin is someone who values the act of creation, viewing it as a method of better understanding the world and the gods who’ve graced it. She has thrown herself into many different crafts to try and develop her skill for it. Sometimes she finds a new outlet for her greedy hands but other times she finds she has very little talent for what she’s attempting. Despite this, she considers the attempt valuable in its own right even if it does wind up in failure, though that does not always alleviate the sting as much as she would hope.

Nasrin resides in the uncomfortable crossing between a desperate desire for creativity and a dearth of inspiration. While she might call something she makes technically art, it is the hollow sort of thing that comes from rote motions. In her mind the only soul to her work comes from her magic, which may as well make her little more than a conduit for divine power that contributes little of her own to the creation. Few things she’s made have given her the satisfaction and the confidence of turning inspiration into reality, and they only make the time in-between that much more unbearable.

      unique magic
Nasrin possesses the power to enchant objects, to imbue them with magic to grant them certain properties. Theoretically this could be anything from making a book glow in the dark to making a bed fly. Unlike the enchantments produced by anyone with the time and dedication needed to specialize in it, though, Nasrin does not need to rely on runes or catalysts; it is matter of touch and feel. She need only have the image of what she wants and the object in her hand to imbue it with her power. Power that, naturally, is greater and more controlled than your standard enchantment specialist.

That said, it still requires mana, initially from her to create the enchantment and from anyone capable to maintain it afterwards. Everything has a maximum possible charge it can hold that drains with every use or simply dissipates over time. Unless Nasrin has placed a restriction on it, such objects are able to be used by anyone, so long as they’re aware the enchantment exists in the first place.

One of the restrictions placed, almost inherently at this point, on every enchanted object Nasrin handles is that of faith. One must be loyal to the gods to make use of her magic. To watch Nasrin work is to watch a ritual, a prayer to the gods for a piece of heaven to bring to Terrene. And, once it arrives, she merges divine will and mortal labor to produce a gift for the faithful. Or, at least, that’s how she sees and presents her work: an enchantment is a hymn, and she the singing priest.

      character
Bright, cheerful and childish, Gale is someone who smiles and does whatever he wants, when he wants. He starts and ends things on a whim, especially fights, but more often than not stays with what he has going until he gets it. He's very adaptable, especially when it comes to new situations and other people, settling in faster than a newborn child. However, underneath that smiling exterior is a child who has little morals and little empathy, like a child who doesn't quite understand why kicking puppies is bad. He has few attachments in life, allowing him the ability to become utterly ruthless to others, but what few attachments he has he holds with determination that rivals the world itself, even if they're toxic to himself. Occasionally, he can focus on things so much that he gets stuck and resistant to change, similar to the reverse Death tarot, but eventually he'll attempt to move on. Stationary in personality he might seem, and he realises that - which is why he's trying to change. Much like how the Death card represents transformation, Gale is trying to change his own personality and lifestyle for the sake of his loved ones, something he approaches with zeal - even if he's not entirely sure how to get about it.

The Hawthorne family is a high ranking family, one which has reach and is full of affluence, made up entirely of pureblood with disdain towards humans and diluted blood. They might be few in number, but all of them are extremely powerful, disciplined in all their ways. Brought up by the family, Gale had been forced to be mature and disciplined since day one, which might explain his exuberant and overly childish nature and tendency to say sound effects out loud. Constantly reminded that he was part of the great Hawthorne family and should therefore behave as such, Gale was smothered with rules and responsibilities better suited for an experienced adult than a child. For a while, he used to escape to play in the streets and release stress, but when his grandparents and relatives found out, he received hell for doing so and was monitored until he reached his eight birthday, where he drew the Death Tarot.

He had even greater responsibilities entrusted onto him after that, held apart from the others due to being one of the major arcana. Nothing he did had ever been good enough in the past, and it was the same now. Being in the school provided little relief - until Gale found himself a friend, an older boy called Ciro who treated him like a normal child instead of someone to be despised, feared or of great responsibility. It was a ray of light in the darkness Gale felt, and he held onto it like a drowning man gasping in air, and away from his family's influence, he grew away from parroting his family ideology into forming his own views -something that his family found terrible.

Gale's family was toxic, himself more so - which is why nobody stayed. but Ciro did, and that was enough for Gale to change his viewpoints on certain things. It would take time considering Gale's avoidance of responsibility, but Gale has the rest of his time at school to figure out whether to cut off ties with the family he holds in high value, or to cut off ties with Ciro like his family wanted and continue on their legacy.

      unique magic
Gale has the power of transmutation. With his runes, he has the ability to change one thing into another, by deconstructing that thing and reconstructing it into another object. For example, take a cement brick. Gale has the ability to deconstruct that brick into its base form and reconstructing it into a cement duck. This only works only on inanimate objects, however, and he can't transform it into something the thing isn't made of - for example, he can't transmute the cement brick into wood, as cement doesn't contain wood. He likes to accompany this ability's activation with sound effects, but its not a necessary requirement to activate his ability - although its constant use might convince people otherwise.

Born a child of diluted blood, it could be said that nothing much was expected of the boy. Even if he were to receive a major arcana, it would have been wasted on the likes of him, those who were going to die anyway due to the blood curse.

Clause resented that fact from the very beginning. Born with a sharp mind and an equally sharp tongue, he was a witty child that was mature for his years, unafraid to ask questions and demand answers, with a tenacity to a frightening extent. Reading voraciously and researching into every rune he could get his hands on, Clause is what one would call a child prodigy, understanding and learning, soaking in all the bits of knowledge he could get. Even as others praised him, Clause could feel the pity in their eyes. How unfortunate that his place was amongst the peasants, the minor arcana that couldn't achieve the world no matter how they tried. How sad that his talent for magic is wasted on his status.

Perhaps it was the sheer annoyance that motivated him, but Clause begin to focus singlemindedly on one task. He was going to manipulate his tarot with so much skill that no one has seen before, he was going to be the best mage at the academy. Even if he wasn't born in a better position, so be it. There are other ways to achieve the world, and Clause is there to prove them all wrong about him. Determined, ambitious and single mindedly focused on his craft, there isn't a time where Clause could be seen without his book, always seeming to take in every bit of information. The library is his favorite haunt, and he often asks those the considers worthy to teach him, no matter how he has to humiliate himself to do so.

His motto, anyone who works as hard could get as far is something that he follows to the core, beliving that he could carve out his own path to the top by sheer determination and hard work alone. While holding a soft spot for those with diluted blood and considering them as 'comrades' facing the same discrimination at birth, his attitude toward the purebloods are nothing less than coldness and rivalry.

      unique magic
Clause has the ability to bring forth plants from the earth. Just has how a flower, single mindedly focused on spreading and surviving could bloom even in a desert, Clause is the desert rose that puts in his everything into growth and success. He can summon a great variety of plants, ranging from grass to tall trees, or vines to control the actions of others. The amount of mana that is taken for each plant is different, and the longer it usually takes for plants to grow, say for example a fully grown sapling that might take up to two years will take up more mana than a sprout only taking a few weeks.

 O4. Shion (No. 6)

Image
      character
Delwyn was born of two registered nobles making him a Pure-blooded noble. His parents were thrilled when he was so curious and healthy, truly their pride and joy. A first-born child with potential beyond the stars. On his 8th birthday he drew a Major Arcana, The Moon. How fortunate his parents were to have a child so gifted! Then things went a bit sideways, his parents began noticing that the family staff didn't want to go near him, they claimed he was bad luck, that he could smile at you and your deepest fear would drown your mind. His parents fired any of the staff who claimed such things and assured their only child he was perfect, he was meant for greatness. Delwyn is a kind and gentle boy, always helping when he can and accepting of all strokes of life, yet something in his eyes is dark. As if he knows your every weakness. He is not easily angered, however, he is quick to burst out in violent ways, seemingly a different person when he is provoked to that point, acting shocked and surprised right after. When confronted by things that would scare anyone else, name was always still. Calm and intrigued by the outside force that was meant to scare him, as if wondering if it even could. He was accepted into Aurelius and enjoys being there with everyone, his parents, are glad he's out of the house. In recent years they had been plagued by nightmares while his powers were developing most.

Delwyn is tied to his card in that the Moon is a deceptive card that represents terror and darkness along with hidden enemies and struggles to come. Delwyn is deceptive in the way of his attitude and soft, harmless appearance yet inside he harbors a power that threatens to drive those around him to madness.

      unique magic
      Empathy – Fear Manipulation.
Delwyn has a passive ability of Empathy, if he touches someone he can sense how they are feeling, what emotions are stirring within them, driving them. Along with this he can emit subtle emotional suggestions, calming someone, angering them, making them happy or sad. Granted, this requires a small amount of mana and it is not forcing the target to feel that way, it's a subtle manipulation of the mind to encourage the change. Delwyn's biggest raw ability is that of fear manipulation. He isn't very skilled in using this yet, however he's used it accidentally in his past. Driving staff away by pulling their darkest dreams into reality before their very eyes. In essence this is an ability that plagues the mind, like a hallucination, he senses your deepest fear and sends you into a state where you are surrounded by your worst nightmare. Even though only the target can see it. This takes a large amount of focus and mana to use, along with that he has only ever used this power accidentally and cannot control it yet to the point where he could use it proficiently.

     SEVEN OF WANDS

 O3. healing
 O4. angelo sauper (gundam unicorn)

Image
      character
Vincent Hamilton is a pure-blooded noble with lofty ideals and a drive to change the world. In many ways, he is a disappointment to his family, though perhaps that was born out of misguided expectations. A rebellious and strong willed child, Vincent rarely followed the directions of his parents, but was tolerated for his pure blood and potential. After his eighth birthday, where he found himself gifted with a minor arcana, that was the last he’d see of his parents in his upbringing. Only social convention and appearances had his parents willingly associating with him, especially as he began to spout blasphemous and increasingly radical ideas about the world they lived in. On the surface, he’s a well-connected and esteemed child of the Hamilton name; though this is only a façade that hides his isolation and revulsion from his relatives from the wider populace.

Ever since the death of his elder half-sister - one unfortunate enough to meet their end at the hands of the diluted-blood curse - Vincent has dedicated himself to researching this fatal phenomenon, with the goal of finding a way to allow other diluted bloods to live full and happy lives. To him, the circumstances of one’s birth should be irrelevant to such things, and though he proudly proclaims this to anyone who asks about his views, he’s learned to maintain a degree of restraint and tact after the incident that prevented him from graduating during his third year. To that end, he mostly keeps to himself in studying and the like, as sooner or later those that grow to like his company tend to oppose his almost taboo interests and controversial opinions. Regardless of his current social situation, Vincent is wholeheartedly dedicated to his study of healing magic, and is an exemplary student in regards to the coursework.

As a person, Vincent seems cordial and friendly, if a bit distanced and perhaps a little forced in his politeness. Behind the persona he maintains for his safety and the regards of his parents, Vincent can be stubborn, restless, dedicated and determined. A bold spirit with a good heart, he isn’t good at ignoring injustices or standing idly by, which often has him getting into trouble as he involves himself in the problems of others, defending the weak and frequently standing between the underdog and those that persecute them. Competitive, resistant to authority and somewhat reckless, he isn’t afraid to bend or break the rules for his benefit, though one might not be able to tell that at first glance.

      unique magic
Vincent’s personal magic is intriguingly simple, being able to make objects essentially immovable. For the object itself, it appears to enter into a form of stasis that renders any external interactions with it ineffective, becoming completely unyielding in its spatial position and physical properties. If Vincent used his magic on an airborne object, it would remain in place in mid-air. Upon cancellation of his magic, or when he stopped infusing his mana into it, it would then return to its normal trajectory as if nothing had occurred. The only exception to this is Vincent himself, who is capable of shifting these objects around as if they were weightless, though this does require the use of his own physical strength to do so.

Multiple objects, larger objects, complex or moving objects, the length of the stasis and the distance between Vincent and the object(s) alter the amount of mana required for Vincent to maintain this stasis. At present, this ability does not appear to work on any living entities. Testing around liquids has been intriguingly successful; however, gases have proven themselves to be almost impossible, with the density of the vapours key in whether they can be put in stasis. Individuals other than Vincent have been shown to be unable to break or move affected items; though extreme force does seem to require more mana to maintain the stasis. Like Vincent, the objects seem to show an indomitable will to remain standing against all odds.

Like a bull in a china shop- an apt description all who has met Troy Pendleton will invariably come to the conclusion of. Many find it shocking to learn that Troy is the pureblood son of the Pendleton house- if anything, he acts more like a commoner than one of royal upbringing. If moods and emotions are a series of gestures strung together to form a patchwork quill of character then Troy would be a never ending firework show. Brash but vibrant, Troy is a melting pot of emotions in excess. He expresses himself to the utmost, his almost constant energy dancing across the canvas of his daily life, never dwelling on any one thing for long. For that he has been called insensitive and shallow, but in truth Troy rarely means badly towards people, even though his overwhelming personality proves a daunting task for many to handle.

Someone once told Troy that he'd make for good entertainment, but can never be an actor. He has a poor grasp of subtleties, with a tendency to take things too far without meaning to because he doesn't know when to stop. Despite what many might think, he is capable of moments of quiet introspect, though it never lingers for too long. He wears his heart on his sleeve, all love and hate and happiness and anger blossoming in his words and actions almost violently. For that he has been called fake, an attention-whore, but Troy never cared much for the attention. He's been called enough names both to his face and behind his back to be fazed by how people judged him, since that was all they did ever since he was young. As the only pureblood son to his house, with parents who lusted for money and power, Troy has brought to the table nothing but disappointment with his insignificant minor arcana, and his indifference towards advancing his family's political standing. This was made very clear to him through long laments and self-important scorn of whatever he did. His parents, their acquaintances, his siblings, all treated him as such alike- he was the perfect screwup of a family that saw him as their puppet first before their son.

Once upon a time, Troy would have felt inadequacy at himself. Once upon a time, Troy would have bowed to the greedy strings of the puppetmasters. But Troy lived to defy whatever expectation was forced onto him, and as he would have it he refused to live for anyone but himself. It might have seemed improbable that such a mentality could have been born from the circumstances he was thrust into, but Troy believed in fate. And as fate would have it, come what may, Troy will be there to face head on with a smile.

      unique magic
Troy's power is an extremely circumstantial one, practically unable to stand on its own as it holds little to none offensive capability. His power passively gives him constant mental clarity, which shields him from attacks on the mind. This renders him immune to any sort of mind control or illusions.

In addition, Troy can also generate air bubbles containing his personal magic and grant his clarity of mind to another person temporarily. However, these air bubbles are slow-moving and can be intercepted. The bubbles enters the chosen target by dissolving through exposed parts of the skin, forming a magical link between the target and Troy in the process. For as long as Troy maintains the link, the target gains immunity against mental attacks. However, this link is extremely taxing and can only be maintained on one person at a time. The bubbles otherwise hold no obvious offensive capabilities.

Ever since she was born she was told her place. Diluted-blood, just do your best for the family. Though Eolande felt as though she wasn't just another cursed child, a mar on her family's namesake, that maybe she was something more. She lived her life up to this point contently, she was lucky her father had a soft-spot for her. Too gullible, too stupid to live on her own. That's what he said about her, though she didn't mind. She got to live at the manor in her own little room in the attic! She loved her father and surely he loved her back, she was his baby girl. True, she wasn't as intelligent or as wise as her elder purer siblings, but she felt like she had something to offer. She just didn't know what yet. A gentle-soul, always optimistic and kind to any who need help, Eolande takes any chance she can now that she's been sent to Aurelius, to find out what she was meant for. Hopefully something greater than being an illegitimate baby born into nobility.

      unique magic
Eolande has an ability with drawbacks as major as it's benefits. She can touch a wounded person, someone with an illness, or even someone who recently passed away (in theory) and swap damage with them. By doing so she heals their wounds completely, however the same amount of damage then appears on her own body. She is a rather petite and frail creature, so she's only managed to practice this ability on small cuts and such her brother's had obtained over the years when she was at home. Now she hopes to refine it, to prove to herself what she is capable of.

Born to a despised family, raised poor and apart before it was revealed that he was a major arcana, Wren has been taunted and bullied for his family name ever since he could remember. This has only caused him to grow more determined to win first place at anything that comes in his way, even if it's something as simple as sewing. Always aiming for victory, Wren is an extreme perfectionist who is more than a little competitive, but his tendency to hyper focus on the objective, including his aggressive personality, may make him a little too intense for those who're faint of heart. He's a hard worker, extremely decisive and pours determination into everything he does, making him someone you can count on, but he also has a tendency to focus purely on the objective to the point of bossing others around without regard of their personal feelings. This combined with his short temper and perfectionist tendencies can make him a hard teammate to get along with emotionally.

Aggressive, stubborn and sarcastic, Wren might seem a simple man, but he's actually a very contrary person. His icy cool exterior masks burning hot passion and a fiery temper that rises to a thousand degrees just as fast as it cools back down to zero, and despite his grouching he's pretty affable to those who don't piss him off. He says one thing, but his actions disagree with his words. He is private, but opens up to others when there is a shared objective. Wren feels and cares about things with an intensity that is almost frightening, but thanks to years of bullying and sheer social awkwardness, distances himself from those emotions through the use of a grumpy exterior, like a crab protecting its soft bits with armor - which is a major factor for his contradictory behavior. Wren is a mess of contradictions bound together through sheer willpower and the determination to beat anything in his path, but his pragmatic head wars with his emotional heart, something that isn't as hidden as Wren thinks it is.

Wren has a simple goal - to restore his family name. The bullying might have lessened over the years, but the effects still remain. Years of being ostracized thanks to his family status has caused Wren to be determined in doing whatever he could to make it great again, even if he doesn't entirely understand how to. And in order to do so, Wren has decided to be perfect in all things - an endeavor that Wren does his best in but ultimately fails, as no human is perfect. Still, as the heir to the Calsinger name, Wren is determined to do what it takes to restore it while making a fresh start in the academy, even if it includes treading over others - although his heart makes him pause and reconsider.

      unique magic
Wren likes to call his power Zen Hulk, so called because of its limitation and meaning. Basically, the calmer Wren is, the stronger he becomes - something he finds hard due to his tendency towards anger. As long as he is calm, Wren has the ability to lift cars in one hand, run fast, withstand the force of a truck at full speed, become resistant to poisons (although not immune, they're just less effective). In a state of complete zen, Wren becomes a demigod - invincible. Unfortunately, as Wren has a ton of emotional issues he has yet to sort through, he can't achieve that state of zen yet, and so has yet to unlock the full potential of his power.

This ability is linked to his emotional status - Wren requires the willpower to control his emotions in order to use his power effectively. If he loses control of his emotions, for example losing his temper, he loses control of his ability and gets weaker. In a rage or the throes of despair, he's as weak as an ordinary human. A union of emotionless focus and a drive of emotion is needed to achieve full potential - and in most cases, victory.

Prior to having magic, Ophelia was a child on her best manners who loved innocent play. However she constantly felt watched and judged, curated like a developing tool. It caused incredibly stressed, making her constantly nervous. Plagued by little sleep and night terrors, she was often irritable. Never acting out at home, when out of the house she became a neighborhood bully.

Those in her clique were safe, but her form of de-stressing was to make herself feel superior. Ophelia belittled others, and occasionally was physically confrontational. Even out of her home she felt constantly watched, and by asserting herself as a superior it made her feel like the watcher was impressed.

The year prior to gaining magic, another child Ophelia bullied got sick of it and fought back. It was rare another would bother to do so, and even less common they would smash a brick across her face and hospitalize her. From that point on she was no longer two faced and both personalities melted into one that was a gaunt reflection of both. She never experienced retribution like that, and having shown weakness she felt like her own clique would betray her at any moment. Her paranoia extended beyond the nonexistent watcher, and her fear of them increased tenfold.

Ophelia is reclusive, a coward, and trusts others very little. Her dominant personality has done a complete flip and is now incredibly sub-servant. Others getting angry scares her and she will do as others ask. Inherently playful, she now reserves herself to playing games in complete solitude or with the few she trusts such as her elder brother.

She is a pessimist, never focusing on the good in her life. Instead dreading on what could go wrong if she missteps ever again. Having made mistakes, and in dealing with her issues poorly, Ophelia has spilled her cups. Instead of looking to those still standing, she agonizes over the loss. Destroying herself further.

      unique magic
The magical manifestation of her paranoia, Ophelia calls it Watcher. Watcher is a being made entirely of mana, taking the shape of a floating eye with tendrils. It is entirely invisible to the normal eye, only detectable by spells that would trace magical signatures. Opheila herself is always able to see Watcher, as he is created from her mana.

Ophelia only has access to half of her mana, the other half is Watcher. It is always in existence, and does not require any mana beyond what it is. The power Watcher possesses are unknown to Ophelia, as she is afraid of him. Unable to communicate normally, Watcher is connected to her nerves and muscles. He can cause her to take sudden movements, and cause pain unto her body at will. It has been conjectured by observers of her magic that Watcher has absolute truesight.

Five of Cups is a card of marriage with bitterness and frustration. Watcher is her better half, yet she fears and refuses to acknowledge his potential. Blinding herself to what could be Watcher's good qualities. Her paranoid delusion of being watched was not replaced by Watcher, but another has joined the crowd.

"There's a silver lining in every grey cloud" is Ciro's motto, and like the implications, he's a very optimistic person. Ciro is a very calm person, who constantly offers everyone a friendly greeting and a listening ear. He's slightly motherly and very polite, and as a hard worker he's a great hit with both classmates and teachers everywhere - including kids, whom he treats with the same respect he gives everyone else. Ciro is a very thoughtful person, often giving great consideration to others, but it's also a personality flaw. He can be too considerate, keeping his thoughts to himself and helping others while sacrificing his own wellbeing, and he's not very good at standing up for himself, making him easy to take advantage of if you press the right buttons.

Ciro also very prone to anxiety, and has a tendency to overthink situations - which further increases his anxiety, and he doesn't deal too well with stress, which is why he likes simplicity. A mixture of daily life and meeting others needs as well as chronic anemia leaves him exhausted and occasionally depressed, but Ciro will always recollect himself in the end. He wears his heart on his sleeve, but that doesn't mean he's emotionally weak. Ciro might seem a little fragile, like a wisp of cloud that can vanish in thin air, but he will always face things with unflappable cheer - or, if the situation warrants it, humor.

While he's a relatively cheerful and warm guy, easy to like, to his own family Ciro is as well received as a cockroach in a kitchen. Born as diluted blood, Ciro has been a mistake that has been left hidden in the shadows. Not knowing his own parents but raised by strict, if kind people who met his needs, Ciro spent his days wandering the streets until his ceremony, after which he was sent to the academy.

At his twelfth birthday, Ciro was asked a favor by someone his parents owed a great favor to - a man from the family of Hawthorne. Turns out that one of the kids he used to play with on the streets before leaving was from the Hawthorne family, that man's son, and he wanted Ciro to teach his son and basically be a good influence to him. Ciro didn't think much of it before agreeing - after all, it was just one kid. No biggie, right?

Turns out that the kid was the Death Arcana, Gale Hawthorne. Still, Ciro persevered, and now, five years later, they're as close as brothers, with Gale having formed a great attachment to Ciro in sharp contrast to his real brothers and sisters. Many things have happened in between, like relationship drama and Ciro losing function in one eye, and as a result Ciro would rather live a drama-less life - but if his friends are in an adventure, you can find Ciro close behind providing support.

      unique magic
Ciro is, for a lack of better way to put it, a living amplifier. The Nine of Cups is a card that represents giving what you have and receiving back more, and this applies to Ciro's power "Multiplier", as he calls it, which has a passive ability which increases his own output of magic. For example, a normal wizard can produce a golf ball size of flame, but Ciro can produce a flame somewhat larger than that with lesser mana, although his control is still normal (All this does is affect his output, nothing else). Something that costs ten mana will still have the same effect with lesser mana when Ciro activates his ability. When in use, a rune will appear on the thing that he wants to enhance, and with a word, Ciro can use it to enhance both others and himself.

Naturally, this power has limitations. Amplification costs mana - the more he he amplifies, the larger the drain of mana becomes. It also affects him physically, leeching him of his energy, and constant usage can leave Ciro suffering the effects of severe anemia, which is why he's often very tired. Through practice over the years, Ciro is able to amplify a maximum of three things at the same time, but doing so increases the drain of mana drastically, causing his magic reserves to degenerate faster than it normally would like the energy of a man doing three things at the same time.

Atticus is probably considered by most, including his family, a headache. A headache that’s never still enough to attempt to get rid of properly and near impossible to keep track of. It’s not that he’s loud and brash but more so that he’s fickle and slippery as an eel. Nine times out of ten he’s run off after something that caught his eye...right when you need him the most. It’s honestly a miracle that Atticus managed to settle on his specialized subject on his own instead of waiting for someone to yell at him to do so. His teachers can only be glad that Atticus enjoys their classes enough that he didn’t find the need to give them any more trouble than needed. Even though Atticus is often fickle as a feather in the wind, he’s not so much a terrible person that he would leave a debt unpaid.

Like the Wheel of Fortune and karma, whether it’s a good sort of debt or bad sort of debt, you can count on Atticus to pay it back three-fold when you least expect it (as he does love his pleasant surprises). Whether it’s tossing you under the (hopefully) metaphorical bus or actually be willing to sit still and help you study, he’ll usually pay you back at some point or another. It’s just...probably in your best interest that the “debt” that this boy owes you is of the good sort because his middle name might as well be “happily vindictive”.

And of course, as a pure blood, he’s self-aware of his nature and not without tact. His manners are actually sparkling when he’s motivated to put the effort into it. But for some reason when he does “play nice”, his friends and family always seem to be waiting for the other shoe to drop. Afterall, what goes up must always come down.

However, as Atticus himself often says, take advantage of the good fortune that you’ve been dealt before it cycles back to the bad.

      unique magic
Atticus’ main power has to do with the clockwork wheel that he is able to summon. He can move and change the size of the clockwork wheel at will by channeling mana through his right hand.

Atticus’ clockwork wheel does look very pretty and fancy but it doesn’t exist to just sit there and look pretty. It’s primary and most basic function is to act as a potentially impenetrable shield as long as it’s properly fuelled by mana. Unfortunately, this means that he needs to be able to properly estimate just how much mana he needs to invest in. If Atticus uses too little mana his wheel will just shatter under the pressure and disappear until Atticus summons it back. With too much mana the wheel and its cogs will just spin faster and block the assault faster. However, this also means that he’s wasting mana for no reason.

The clockwork wheel’s secondary ability is more taxing mana-wise as it requires more of an investment to operate. Its secondary ability allows it to absorb the hits (that aren’t physical for this case) that it takes, instead of just blocking the force, and return it back three-fold. But while this does mean that it is able to reflect back a strong assault with less required mana for the force behind it, it still means that he has to invest in the mana to take the hit, hold the force and reflect it back out of the wheel. And the stronger the assault, the more mana the wheel requires from Atticus. In fact, if Atticus underestimates the amount of mana needed to give retribution or if he runs out of mana before he could eject it out of his wheel, the wheel will explode with a backlash effect depending on how much (and what) power was stored in it. Therefore, Atticus wisely chooses not to try to absorb any nuclear-level assaults on his person. He prefers to bounce back smaller attacks that he knows for sure won’t endanger himself or others. Also, another setback is due to his potential to get nailed in the back while he’s not paying attention and his inability to hold onto more than one attack to send back at a time.

Lastly, this secondary ability isn’t just used against enemy fire but with friendly fire too. If Atticus’ wheel was to be hit by healing or enchantment magic and launched it back out, it would be three times more effective. Of course, Atticus has to be ready to “catch and match” it or you’d just be beaning him in the face with a good dose of healing that he probably didn’t need.

As the youngest born to a rather mediocre family of nobles, little expectation was pressed on the child save for being your typical run-of-the-mill mage. By the time he had drawn a major arcana, Arte was well past the stage of being fazed by his relative’s sudden flattery. If he was going to achieve something, he’d do it for himself.

Though contrary, capricious, and a general pain in the neck to reason with (unless you bait him with food), Arte doesn’t specifically seek to trigger other’s ire. As enraptured in his own reality as he may be, there’s method in his madness. His rash “experiments” and seemingly foolhardy choices always have some sort of undermining basis behind them, though to some, these reasons are essentially nonextant. He’s a fool, but not in a brainless sense.

Like all else, Arte finds motivation in purpose, namely that of bettering himself. Adhering to the philosophy of “beginnings” and “limitless potential” associated with his representative card, Arte finds his driving force to be the lofty ideal that anything is possible, even for those whose starting point is “zero”. Yet with the gift of having infinite potential and opportunity at his disposal comes an estrangement from a sense of an ultimate goal, a path that he’s still long on the lookout for

      unique magic
Arte’s magic makes the impossible, possible—or at least, it aids in surpassing hurdles that previously seemed much too high. Though many assume the extent of Arte’s magic to be a mere amplification of power, the true nature of his magic lies in “rewriting” the extent of one’s ability for a short period of time. For example, his magic can alter a person’s strength, visual acuity, cognitive ability, or even luck among other things. However, the magic is limited to the natural abilities that one already has, meaning that one cannot become better at phasing through walls if they cannot do so in the first place. Additionally, Arte’s current limit is altering one ability at a time, though he’s been trying to expand past that without burning himself out.

Arte’s magic can also function opposite to what he typically uses it for, unbeknownst to most due to its scant use. At his current level, this portion of his magic is much more of a damper rather than an all-out inhibitor. He can slow people down or mess with the output of their magic, but as it’s rather taxing and the more inexperienced side of his power, its use is seldom seen.

Like all other forms of magic, Rewrite comes with its own price. For one, the magic alters the ability itself but not the body. That is to say, exceeding the limits that one’s body has been tempered to without proper precaution or preparation is grounds for backlash. Said backlashes can range from catastrophic to almost nothing at all, though it’s always a bother to put up with. The sole thing that seems to be exempt from this rule appears to be luck, which can apparently be stolen borrowed from someone else to a certain extent. Anything else has its own downside. That doesn’t stop more desperate students from requesting aid for a quick cramming session (he suggests painkillers for the resulting headache), however.

One of five children to a pure blooded mother, Lilina grew under a competitive household. Whether it be Lilina and her fellow diluted blood step-siblings or her pure blooded step-siblings, their shared mother loved each child equally - yet the rivalries still continued. With the pure blooded children this was less prevalent, though with the diluted bloods this was extremely so. Each attempted to seize the most of their mother’s attention, each worried with the thought of, “What if she suddenly forgets us?” This hypothetical forgetfulness never took place, though this was one of the bases for Lilina’s competitive edge - her victory over her siblings growing her ego as well.

Lilina has always been living within her own little bubble; believing a skewed version of reality. She was born unhealthily ambitious, and raised with be mentality to “go big or go home”. Keeping on a cheeky smile, cheery words, and a cocky demeanour, Lilina mentally tosses away her status as a diluted blood and frequently attempts to outperform her major arcana classmates with obvious results. Though, whether it be stubbornness, arrogance, an over-inflated ego, or a mix of the three, even after these losses Lilina somehow continues to hold a sort of pompousness reserved only for accomplished major arcana individuals.

While Lilina believes all of these thoughts of superiority through hard work and her destiny to reach fame whole-heartedly, within the deepest reaches of herself she has her doubts - that she knows she may have a chance to reach success, yet not to the extent that she dreams. Each time she loses to a major arcana or a minor arcana alike, she questions herself, “Am I really as good as I think I am? Why do I even try?”. Sane people would come to a compromise when met with this flurry of thoughts: to work as hard as they can to reach the top of their ability, rather than something above it. Lilina, however, still desperately claws towards this illusional perfect self she’s created, falling onto her blobs for false confirmation. While talked to in this distraught state, Lilina is known to go from cheery, to somber, to bitter and petty in a matter of seconds - attempting to shove these individuals away as she attempts to sort herself out once again.

      unique magic
Lilina’s personal magic comes in the form of a simple conjuration; she gives an upwards flick of a wrist and a white blob poofs into existence. The sizes of these blobs vary, determined by the amount of mana used. The current maximum size of these creatures are the size of a school desk, while the current minimum size comes in the form of a tennis ball. The practical applications of these conjurations are to simply be used as cannon fodder, or to be used as Lilina’s de-stresser.

Within a combat scenario their primary purpose - as stated previously - is to be used as cannon fodder. Lilina summons a bundle of 3-5 medium-sized blobs, before either hurling them towards enemy projectiles or hiding behind them. They operate similarly to sponges when attacked with a spell; they soak in the mana of an attack, before drooping into a pool of slime. Currently the durability of these blobs are extremely low, breaking when touched with one attack. Inside the world of a videogame, these blobs would possess one HP.

The secondary purpose is used for soothing. When faced with self-doubt or external criticism, Lilina would often times summon a small blob afterwards, engaging in a one-sided conversation - similarly to a pet-owner playfully talking to their pet, before pretending the responses they give are spoken from the animal’s mouth. Without a strong reality check from others, Lilina’s “therapy” can be quite dangerous when mixed with her willful ignorance. She would pretend the blob is regurgitating her own opinion as a false confirmation - whether it be an objectively good or bad one - to live separately in her perfect little world where she herself is right, with blobs backing her in that world, while the others are liars attempting to knock her down.

      character
Ilium Pendleton was born to a pure blooded Mother and a Father of diluted blood, a child of the Pendleton bloodline. Raised predominantly in his father's place, Ilium spent the first half of his childhood being known as December, named conveniently for his time of birth. He was mainly left alone as a child, a boy borne only out of another chance at a more powerful tarot. While the Pendletons spent most of their effort on Troy, Ilium grew up alone. Known as a scaredy cat, the boy was twitchy and ill at ease. He jumps at the slightest surprise, and as a result was often subject to bullying, the children finding his reactions funny. Pranks rigged left and right, Ilium developed a paranoia with his high strung nerves, always afraid and never at ease. He was certain that there was always someone out to get him, and was for the most part of his life unable to leave the house, trembling under the sheets and hiding from his imaginary tormentors.

When he was eight, he drew the moon card, a card that will change his life forever. After Troy’s failure, the Pendleton house was almost too willing to take in a new child, a better one, one with more potential for the world. The boy was rushed into his new life with no warning, his name changed to Ilium, the alternative name for Troy, and was viewed as a replacement Son. In this new, strange environment, Ilium found himself in a world of uncertainty. His new parents believed that the fear was just a childish phase that will go away quickly with discipline, and discipline was what he got. Living in an environment where signs of fear were exploited, Ilium only shrank more into the peace of his subconscious. To counter the punishments he received, Ilium developed a false front, and an unhealthy obsession with fear. At the age of nine, he was the child encouraging every bravery contest. Ilium was the fearless daredevil that stepped on the precipices of rooftops, dangling his spindly legs over the edge with a smug smile at the awed faces of his past tormentors.

He grew to be confident and well spoken, a polite boy with a dark streak of manipulation. He seemed to know exactly what one was afraid of most, and understanding how powerful fear is exploited the fear of others just as how it had been done to him before. While a terrifying adversary, he is nothing but generous and kind to those he considers his friends. Knowing how to pull strings to his liking, Ilium puts up a confident, fearless front. Yet deep inside, he knows all too well that he hasn't gotten over his fears, simply better at hiding them. Afraid of showing his weaknesses, Ilium’s paranoia only grew, fuelled by his need to remain unruffled at whatever happens to him. He grows furious at the slightest sign of betrayal and rarely trusts others, sometimes not even with his own name.

      unique magic
An early 19th century mathematician Laplace came up with the concept of a demon that knows the precise location and momentum of every atom in the universe. For such an intellect nothing will be uncertain, and the future just like the past would be present before its eyes. Ilium named this ability Laplace's Demon, for his magic allows him to see the future, the trajectory of moving objects and their destination, every refractory angle speeds through in his mind, and with those calculations he is able to craft the ideal future for himself. This ability helps his inherent paranoia, allowing him to see and be prepared for surprises in advance. Currently Ilium can see twenty seconds into the future. He is not a prophet per se, but his ability comes immensely useful especially in times of combat. All ilium has to do is to react a second faster than his opponent, a second is all he needs to win.
