As you may already know, the entities encountered in this Roleplay have a strange origin that is not yet fully understood; they seem to originate from some kind of imaginary realm, somehow breaking into reality.
The term ‘monster’ refers to entities which behave, and usually look, more like animals, such as dragons and griffins.
The term ‘being’, on the other hand, refers to entities with more human-like characteristics, specifically the same level of intelligence and awareness.
Beings are regarded as people just like humans, and so only officially defined monsters are kept in enclosures. That said, with there being so many varieties of these entities, you often end up with beings that resemble monsters and monsters that resemble beings, as well as some which belong to an uncertain area in between. For example, there may be some strains of dragon with high intelligence and awareness, capable of speech. On the other hand, there may be fae that resemble humans physically but act just like any animal would. Classifying these can be tricky, but there is an official list differentiating the more numerous species and varieties.
More info to come soon.
