LORD AND LADY MAYFAIRFull name: Genevieve MayfairAge: 25
Gender: F
Morality: good
Class: noble
Appearance:
(inspiration: Madam Red- Kuroshitsuji)
Of noble birth and English origin, Lady Genevieve is known in society as a woman with modern ideas and a keen interest for parties and other social gatherings. She is the perfect host and a demanded guest, often depicted as the life of the party. In reality, Lady Mayfair has high moral standards and likes to make sure everyone abides by the rules. She keeps her estate with an iron hand and a gentle smile, depending on the situation. Romantic and wise, she loves her husband almost to the point of sacrifice, yet her love is not blind. Knowing her husbandās ways she knows when to act and when to stay in the shadows when it comes to his usual misdeeds. Everyone in the house respects and loves her mostly because she treats everyone equally.
The mansion, the garden and other properties are her and her husbands possessions, except for the servants ā unlike Lord Byron Mayfair who considers them to be objects.
Loved by her parents, Genevieve was always a good daughter, the last child in a family of six. She was the only girl who could read and write, her thirst for knowledge being often compared to her brothersā thirst for women and parties. She met Byron Mayfair at one of the gatherings started by her father. She liked his forward manner and strong self confidence and loved him dearly ever since. Having a keen interest for the occult, Genevieve discovered the truth about their origins and past lives through her visions (some of them being blurry dreams at night, others ā more vivid ā after she has a drink or two)
Pragmatic as she is, she questioned them and is still doing historical research on their family tree. As far as she knows, only two lives were important in her past existences: she was a vestal priestess and queen of France, Catherina de Medici. One of her friends, Emma Chambers -known as Madam Fuchsia only in close circles - is a fortune teller and a clairvoyant. One night Genevieve brought her a bone comb and one of her husbandās pocket watches and after touching them, Emma related an episode from their unknown past in Egypt.
Her childhood was happy although her father, a puritan, always focused his attention on her religious upbringing in the wrong way. This focus has been particularly unfortunate since the first two-thirds of the nineteenth century saw a great, almost astonishing, revival of biblical typology, which left its firm impress upon Victorian literature, art, and on Genevieveās young mind as well. Her thirst for knowledge and personal opinions clashed with her fatherās narrow vision and their peaceful home was often a battle ground for their conflicts. Only her motherās patience and diplomatic interventions kept their father ādaughter relationship in normal limits. Things got worse when young Genevieve refused to marry the man her father chose as future husband based on financial interests. She swore she would never marry and kept her promise until at the age of 21 (everyone considered her an old maid by then) when she met Byron Mayfair, a wealthy young man from another class, without noble origins. The father threatened to disinherit Genevieve, but died from a heart attack before he could put his plans into action. Stricken with grief, she married Byron and got Magnolia Manor along with a forest and an orchard, her brothers and sisters getting the bigger share from their parentās properties and valuables. After her motherās death the first son also inherit the main estate.
At the moment, Lady Genevieve keeps in touch with two of her brothers, Jonathan and Harold, the other brother and two sisters being out of the country (one serving the King and the others married with foreigners)

Full name: Byron Mayfair (real name Julien Augustus)Age: 27
Gender: M
Morality: evil
Class: bourgeois
Appearance:
Height: 1.8 cm
Weight: 74 kg
With long black hair and fairly toned muscles. Has four scars on his stomach from a fight in the colonies.
Byron is a dandy. By that I mean he knows good wine, haute cuisine and heās very picky with his company. Because heās not a noble, but is a frequent guest of their gatherings, he became a snob. Caviling and sarcastic, Byron knows how to laugh only at the cost of otherās misfortune and he will treat everyone and every situation with mild indifference. Being richer than most nobles because his father was a well known banker, he never worked a day in his life. He is often bored and has a class complex because heās a bourgeois.
Pricy clothes and a silver small knife.
Byron always loved to be part of something which implied great risks and huge amounts of adrenaline. He used his vast income to sail the unknown world and for a couple of years he lived in the colonies, making his duty in the Kingās name and returning with a twisted passion for violence and blood. Two months after his return, the owner of Magnolia Manor invited his father and a few other bankers at one of his high-class social gatherings in order to close a fairly profitable deal. His father, disappointed in his son's lack of interest for work and financial gain, sent him on his behalf to test his abilities and to see if he proves somehow worthy of his annual income. Bored as usual, Byron accepted to go and as it proved further on, he done well. On that night he met Genevieve. At first he paid no attention to her but when he found out that she was the lordās daughter, Byronās interest increased dramatically. He managed to charm her and have her hand in marriage against the will of her father. His plan of accession went smoothly and he succeeded in getting the title of āSirā after his marriage due to āoutstanding services and military meritā from the Queen and on the advice of the Foreign and Commonwealth Chamber. The title was acquired after his long service in the colonies of South Africa, mainly for his help on keeping the native population under control. Although some called his actions āmurderous actsā, the King gave him a title. Because the āLordā title is only passed down by blood, he is known as Sir Byron Mayfair but no one dares to call him that. He wishes to be called Lord and thatās how it always has been in Magnolia Manor.
His fallen angel origin is the main reason for his unfaithfulness both in love and friendship..therefore he had neither friends nor lovers before Genevieve. He never gets attached and affection is a foreign concept to him. Byron was always unfaithful to his soul mate in his past lives. He was only curious when he descended on Earth and took the first woman he liked as wife, abandoning her after their punishment. It seems he's stuck with her for eternity although he never remembers that.

FALLEN ANGELS1st Fallen Angel Full name:John Arbuthnot FisherAge: 43
Gender: Male
Morality: Good
Class:Lower Class
Appearance:
Height: 5 feet 10 inches
Weight: 175 lbs
Personality: A consummate professional John is at all times calm, cool, and collected with a perchance for the odd wry cynicism. This wry cynicism is the result of what he is. A bastard child of a whore has no friends in the nobility that make up ships officers after all. But despite this his aloof manner is merely an act, a convincing one, but merely an act. In reality he is terrified of failure, so much so that he has earned a reputation as a strict taskmaster accepting nothing less then perfection from both himself and his crew. After all unlike most ship officers he has no golden safety net and that fact haunts him at night when he lies abed. But mixed with this perfectionist behavior and aloof manner is a core of virtue and honesty. Lacking neither for courage or honor John is a man who puts Crown and Country before all else.
Weaponry and equipment: Aside form his uniform, cutlass, pistol, and a small manor near York, England John owns little. Although he is the captain of the HMS Warrior which does see him well off financially. Prize money is good when they capture ships after all.
History: John Arbuthnot Fisher was born in the east side of London in a whorehouse to a lady of ill repute known only as Scarlet. His birth was both difficult and taxing on his mother whom never did truly recover from the effort. Instead dying a few months afterwards she left her son to be raised in an orphanage. Life in the orphanage was far from ideal, in fact sometimes the boy thought hell itself might be a step up. Be that as it may John showed remarkably keen intellect and analytical thought patterns, soon outstripping boys twice his age in academic pursuits. He soon proved to be a favorite of the other boy becoming their leader despite his young age. And his physical prowess soon manifested itself. While neither the biggest nor the tallest John proved able to dance circles around nearly anyone at any given sport.
And so these qualities combined to make him stand out from the other boys at the orphanage. So much so that at the age of 12 he was adopted by a childless couple. While not the richest of parents they came to love John deeply, something he has been grateful for to this day. Raising him in their south side London house John came to work as a file clerk, helping his adoptive parents in their dry goods store. But the sight of the ships in the harbor fired his imagination when the crushingly boring paper work got to him. Then again most British boys felt the same about the ships, after all the sea is what made their Island great. British ships sailed all over the world, nearly unchallenged. Their holds filled with treasures from the far flung corners of Asia and Africa.
His parents were not oblivious of their adoptive child's daydreams and so devised to help John fulfill them. Making this known to him the boy saw a chance to seize this dream and make it reality. Eschewing signing aboard a merchant ship he set his sights on the Navy, the man'o'wars being the center of his dreams. At this his adoptive parents balked a little, after the navy was a brutal place. Where flogging, death, and loss of limb were all too common. But knowing once Pandora's box was open there was no shutting it they set a course of action. John would be no Jack Tar, he would join the Navy an officer.
So begging, borrowing, and smooth talking they secured a place for John at the Royal Navy Academy. Where the orphanage had been thought of as hell the academy must be it's ninth circle. The other cadets for the most part were the spoiled brats of the upper class and so disdained this adoptive son of a lower class merchant parents. So way or and other the story of his birth got out, thus forever exuding John from the the club as it were. But he cared not a wit for their disdain. Instead he threw himself at his studies and so proved to be the most talented student in the school. His achievements became the stuff of legend, there was simply no subject regarding Naval matters he could not master. By the time his training tour rolled around John could probably have built a ship of the line with his own bare hands, had someone given him the need materials.
Serving aboard the HMS Falcon for his training tour John soon proved a natural commander. His lower class status earning him much respect from the Jack Tars. His sheer skill in Naval matters earning him high praise from the Captain. And so when he returned to the Royal Navy Academy it was to fanfare ( at least from the Teachers who could overlook his heritage.) Graduating with full honors and top of his class he was presented with the ceremonial cutlass that symbolized this fact.
Assigned to the HMS Glover, a small patrol frigate, as a midshipman he soon amassed both respect and medals. While battles proved rare John nonetheless displayed incredible steadfastness and courage in all matters. Never one to rest on his rank he did everything asked of him and then some. But as he rose in rank he began to realize the peril of his situation. He was not a rich man and many a seaman retired early because of injury. While the fear of injury itself were little enough the fear of it's results were not. His parents having died early and in debt left nothing for their adoptive son. And his salary was nothing to envy either. This formed a fear that never truly left him.
Earning his Captain's rank at the age of 38 John became commander of the HMS Warrior. A truly massive ship and one of the first all iron sea going battleships it was the pride of the fleet. Although a ship of the line it was more the capable of independent action. Since earning his Captain's rank John has become even more aloof but still cares for the men under his command. This in turn has made him quite a popular figure amongst the Jack Tar's of the Royal Navy.
Now on two months shore leave John has received an invitation to a Summer Solstice celebration at Mangolia Manor. Something that puzzles him somewhat as he has few friends among the high born. Even fewer that would claim him publicly as a friend. But figuring it can't hurt he accepts.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gZY_fQfhAQJohn often dreams of previous lives his soul has lived. However the Naval Captain is unaware these dreams are in fact memories of previous lives. He often fears that these dreams are in fact a sign of his sanity slowly slipping away. After all what kind of sane man could dream of the past with such vivid clarity, as if he had been there when it happened.

3rd Fallen Angel -
Full Name: Duncan Reid MacCraighAge: 27
Gender: Male
Morality: Good
Class: Lower Class
Appearance: Even at first glance, yes, Duncan does in fact, look exactly like the kind of man the British Empire would send to the edge of civilization to make things die. Standing at around 5'9" with a strong, lean build, Duncan's body is decorated in a myriad of scars and old wounds, most noticably the odd pattern of marks around his left eye and cheek from a glass bottle in a barroom brawl and four longer scars on the same side from a close encounter with a very large, very angry feline; marring what would otherwise be a ruggedly handsome face... though the short cut of his brown hair and the hardness of his cold grey eyes, the hardness of a professional killer, does little to endear him to the fairer sex either way.
Personality: Despite outward appearances, Duncan actually comes off in casual conversation as a witty, if not eccentric and irreverent individual; seemingly having a wry remark ready for every feasible situation he may encounter and never lacking in good humour. Though making his career through his uncanny affinity for violence, the young man has always endeavoured to do the right thing, even if it's not proper or expedient, and has been known to go far out of his way to help people in need.
But he has a switch.
Duncan doesn't get mad, he just 'switches on'- becoming the cold, methodical killing-machine the Army spent thirteen years turning him into; Ruthless, efficient and very, very good at his job. Usually it's only his men who ever see this side of him, not making much fuss about it as they know the Captain's first priority will always be bringing his men back alive.
To anyone else however, it's absolutely terrifying.
Weaponry and equipment: He carries a Gurkha kukri, a souvenir from his time in India, on his person at all times.
History: Born the seventh son and tenth child of a factory worker and his wife in the slums of Glasgow, Scotland, Duncan grew up working in the steel mill alongside his family, enduring both the harshness of the Industrial Revolution and the squalor of life in the city. At the age of fourteen, the lad simply did not return home from work one night, prompting his family and coworkers to assume him dead; the slums were a dangerous place, and muggers and murderers were not at all uncommon. Unbenkownst to all, however, Duncan was quite alive and well.
...As well as anyone who lied about their age and joined the Army could be, anyhow...
Assigned to a Rifle Company, the young Scotsman spent the next thirteen years fighting the Empire's conquests in India and Africa under the command of the eccentric Captain Jackson, a wily English nobleman who took Duncan under his wing and taught him everything from reading, to writing, to the skills needed to survive the many, many battles they fought together. Through a combination of skill and luck (read: not dying), Duncan made Sargeant at twenty, recieving a Victoria Cross and a commission to Lieutenant three years later for 'Extraordinary Valour', though this may have been in part an unwillingness in the command-structure to, with the death of Captain Jackson, send another English gentleman to command green-coated ruffians in a backwater shithole on the other side of the world when there was a perfectly expendable and somewhat educated Scotsman available.
It has been four years since, and the now Captain Duncan MacCraigh has gained more than his share of notoriety in the Army for being the unorthdox commander of an unconventional formation posted in an unusual land, far from home. Though respected by his men, peers and commanders in the colonies, the Scotsman's exploits have never been entirely popular with the Old Guard and the Gentry back in Britain; which is why he at first thought the strange, handwritten invitation that arrived at his camp one morning to be a joke. And then another came... and another... and another...
It was around the morning that his Sargeant woke him up by emptying a sack full of the damnable mail on him that he decided it may be prudent to at the very least respond to the persons responsible for annoying him from half a world away, somewhat intrigued that whoever these 'Mayfairs' were, they apparently had enough pull in London to convince the Army High Command (who were quite content to just leave him in the colonies and not mention him ever again) to give him leave to return home in order to attend... a party.
Confused, but perhaps a little amused, Duncan packed his bags and boarded the next ship leaving Cape Town, heading towards Britain for the first time in thirteen years.
--------
Completely unknown to Duncan, however, is the nature of the nightmares that have plagued his subconsciousness since childhood; images of swords, betrayal, and battlefields in an ancient but oddly familiar land. The answer of course, is as silly as it is baffling; That these 'dreams' are in actuality the memories of his life as the legendary High King of Britain, Arthur Pendragon, stripped of the flair and poetry added by authors centuries after his death and laid bare in their ugly, violent truths.
