"Go to
America, they said. You'll make new
friends and have
fun adventures, they said."
Name- Lucy McKenzie
Age- 17

Personality- Witty and dry, Lucy always has something to say and is hardly ever rendered speechless. Her enigmatic and quirky nature means she makes friends easily- keeping them, however, is another matter. Her inability to talk about emotions of comfort people often drives people away- and she doesn't know how to get them back. The word 'awkward' would cover it nicely. She is good in a tricky situation and acts almost mindlessly, but will fall into a panic straight afterwards or if the situation seems desperate. She is loyal; putting other people first is how she shows affection- even if she never says it. She isn't particularly brave and would be counted as a 'flighter' rather than a 'fighter' she won't leave anyone behind though- even if that does mean she just has a panic attack while they both get attacked.
History- When her father left them when she was just 2, Lucy and her mother moved a total of 8 times before they finally managed to find a flat and a landlord that would keep them- even if they couldn't pay all of the bills. They were a team; Lucy and her mum, so when her mum finally got a decent job, and a not-so-decent boyfriend, Lucy felt alone. Even more so when they had twin boys- Lucy's half brothers, and then another little girl, her half-sister (named Jacob, Harry and Martha) . Lucy was the unwanted child of a previous marriage and she felt betrayed her mother and, when she was 14, she ran away.
After eventually being found, the family decided Lucy would would stay with her Grandma. Feeling unloved and betrayed, Lucy became lonely and bored- and it was eventually suggested she did a foreign exchange 'across the pond'. She enjoyed it in America- they were a lot more
touchy but she enjoyed it all the same- eventually making some friends who didn't care that she was an emotional hermit, and staying with them for what she expects to be a brilliant summer holiday.
Fears- Confrontation, Human Contact, Drowning and probably monsters. She's yet to meet any.
I'll send the writing sample to you on pm- so I don't block up this forum :)
