[OOC] Dungeons and Instances

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Fallen on Wed Mar 28, 2012 10:03 pm

Alright, here is where I will be posting dungeons and instances, and their levels, content, etc.
This is a work in progress, and I will edit it soon.

Tower of the Endless Witch

Location: Brale

Minimum Level for Entry: 1

Recommended Level: 65+, with good gear.

Maximum Level for Entry: 80

Floors: Tower of the Endless Witch - Entrance Hall. Tower of the Endless Witch - Mezzanine. Tower of the Endless Witch - The Eternity Archive.
Description: The Entrance hall is just that - a wide, open hall, with light streaming in through several stained glass windows. Golden butterflies dance wildly through the air, but through this cloud of living gilding can be seen two staircases at the other end of the room. Each of them is protected by a barrier, which can only be broken by destroying a certain glyph carved into the walls in a random location. A single direct hit will destroy them, but these glyphs also chainspawn butterfly familiars which protect them with their lives. The butterflies only stop coming once all glyphs are destroyed. Then, the stairs are unsealed, and raiders can proceed upstairs

The Mezzanine floor is a large, square balcony running around the inside of the tower's walls. These balconies are, however, sealed by two more barriers, each of which has its generator glyph situation behind it. Butterflies will chainspawn from above, bombarding the raiders until the glyph's power runs out after five minutes, and the barriers unseal. Then, after a bossfight detailed below, the raiders will come to reach and open a mammoth stone door, upon which are carved unintelligible runic sigils in a language long forgotten.

The Eternity Archive is a gigantic circular library, almost like an arena, with gilding running along the walls and torches - as well as a cloud of living gold - providing illumination, along with a giant stained glass window in the back of the room. Bookshelves line the walls except in the center of the left and right walls, in which there is an open space. Many other floors are built into the walls above, each filled to the brim with books. The tower reaches on out of sight, its true extent concealed by the butterflies that flutter up there. However, judging by the tower's giant size on the outside, one might venture to guess that there could be as many as twenty different floors entirely devoted to the storage of books.

Mobs: Golden Butterfly Legionary - Level 40 Normal.
Description: An normal-sized Golden Butterfly Familiar. They rush intruders with a flurry of powerful melee attacks by ramming into them, and explode when damaged. They are one of the most widely hated mobs in the game. They appear in the dozens in the Entrance Hall en masse, rushing those who enter the tower as soon as they appear. They have low HP, but explode upon receiving damage, making them incredibly lethal, since they interrupt spells when they detonate, cutting off most magical barriers mid-cast.
Drops: Golden Wings, Mana Fragments - possible ingredients for powerful mana and buff potions, making farming them highly profitable.

Elite Mobs: Golden Butterfly Decurion - Level 50 Elite, Golden Butterfly Centurion - Level 55 Elite.
Description: The penultimate bossfight of the tower. Four Golden Butterfly Decurions - butterflies about the size of dogs - and a Golden Butterfly Centurion - a butterfly about the size of the average car, appear in front of the sealed door to The Eternity Archive at the end of the Mezzanine floor. Golden Butterfly Decurions will crash into a target, then latch onto it and hold it in place while the Golden Butterfly Decurion releases countless Legionaries from its wings to bombard those immobilized by the Decurions to pieces. The Decurions explode after receiving a certain amount of damage, usually while latched onto a player. The Centurion, meanwhile, is protected by a magical shield that only goes down once all Decurions are killed. The Centurion will then fight using powerful melee/magic attacks, pummeling players until it finally dies, at which point it will explode, releasing a powerful AoE shockwave and a shower of Golden Butterfly Legionaries. While these bosses are rather difficult, if you have a group, you can pick off the Decurions from a range while they attack a tank, then team the Centurion. However, bear in mind that the bossfight area is frequently trapped, and Golden Butterfly Legionaries have a tendency to appear at random, then explode.
Drops: Legendary: Crystallized Perfect Mana Core: Soul Ward, Legendary: Crystallized Perfect Mana Core: Burning Soul Godspeed, Legendary: Crystallized Perfect Mana Core: Soul Strength, Legendary: Crystallized Perfect Mana Core: Soul Nexus. All of these items can be alchemically fused to a piece of equipment, providing it with a unique bonus. Soul Ward gives the user a 5% chance of summoning Golden Butterflies to deflect an attack should they fail a block/dodge, Burning Soul Godspeed reduces casting and cooldown time of spells by 5%, Soul Strength increases a user's HP and Strength by 5%, and Soul Nexus increases a user's Intelligence, Mana Pool, Spell Damage and Spell Accuracy by 5%. All of these unique upgrade items are highly coveted for their potency. These bosses also drop large amounts of gold, Golden Wings, and Mana Fragments.

Legendary Mobs: Golden Butterfly Monarch, Legendary: Golden Butterfly Empress - Black Witch of the Endless Legion.
Description: The Golden Butterfly Monarch is a colossal butterfly the size of the average elephant that appears in the center of the Eternity Archive. Its soul powers a shield protecting the Black Witch, who appears hovering over the room, watching the battle initially. The Golden Butterfly Monarch attacks using barrages of high-speed Golden Butterfly Decurions and Legionaries, as well as divebomb attacks and sweeps of its gigantic wings. Once it loses half of its health, a golden glyph appears on the left wall, and begins chainspawning butterflies. As long as this glyph is present, no damage can be dealt to the Golden Butterfly Monarch. The glyph will go down if hit by a single attack, but most ranged attacks will be blocked by the butterflies it spawns, who shield it with their own bodies.

Once destroyed, the boss is once again vulnerable, until it reaches 1/3rd health, at which point a glyph appears on the right wall, and chainspawns butterflies, shielding the boss. In addition, the Black Witch also begins summoning butterflies, raining hundreds of them down on the raiders from all sides. Once the glyph is destroyed, the Witch will go into a recovery mode, and the boss will again be vulnerable. Once the boss is eliminated, the Golden Witch's bubble will break, and she will land in the center of the Eternity Archive. However, another glyph will quickly appear as soon as she reaches half health, this time in the back of the room, just below the giant stained glass window. This glyph, like all the others, generates a shield protecting the Black Witch, and also spawns countless butterflies, creating new ones each time they are slain. The Witch, too, begins summoning countless butterflies, and others she has already summoned rain down from the sky in a rain of living gold. No raiders have ever passed this stage of the battle, although they have all, as of yet, managed to escape with their lives, albeit heavily wounded. Those felled in the dungeon find themselves outside with bite marks in their neck, their wounds healed, their purses lightened - possibly to pay for the massive expense in mana potions that the Witch uses - and a sense of peace filling their being.

Should this glyph be destroyed, the Witch will finally be exposed. She will fuse all butterflies in the room to herself and to her sword - returning her to full health and mana - and will begin to warp around the room, striking furiously at all invaders until BOTH her mana and health are depleted to zero. Should her health reach zero, but some mana remain, she can still sacrifice some mana in the form of her butterflies to heal herself. Note, however, that she also has the option to flee the battle, making her one of the most difficult to kill bosses in the game.
Drops: Legendary: Joyeus, Blade of Eternity. Legendary: Eternal Raiment of the Black Witch. Large sums of gold, any of the Crystallized Perfect Mana Cores listed above, Mana Fragments, and the Golden Wings may also drop.

Traps/Gimmicks: Exploding Butterflies, Sealed Doors.

Useful Notes: Unusually enough, there isn't a barrier field around the tower rejecting lower level players from entering. A level 1 could stroll in just as easily as a level 80. On another note, there seems to be no defined pattern for the traps, normal mob spawns, or permanent locations of the runes sealing the staircases to the Mezzanine. The number of mobs seems to vary depending on what day it is, almost as though some days, the Witch is recovering her mana. Unusual. Another interesting thing noticed by players is that if they do not draw their weapons, the butterflies will hang back, and not attack them. However, as soon as a blade is drawn or a spell charged, the attacks will begin. No one is quite sure what to make of this.

On a final note, the dungeon seems to randomly close on certain days, almost as if the Witch has despawned. This is another enigma, as the only other reason certain Dungeons close like this is because their boss has been slain, and has yet to respawn. However, it opens a few days later, and the Witch is still there with her one-of-a-kind items, meaning she can't have died. This is, in reality, caused by her leaving the tower, forcing the game to recourse upon its programming and shut the dungeon, as it doesn't have any other way to handle the boss up and leaving. However, no one knows that yet.
