The Bretonnians are a little behind in terms of technology. There are no crossbows nor black powder weaponry anywhere. Using such things would be a sign of cowardice and go against everything a knight is supposed to stand for. The most technological achievement you will ever see in Bretonnia are trebuchets, windmills, and waterwheels. It is completely medieval.
Also, no Knights may know magic. There will be magic IC, and it will effect events and the environment, but your character may not be skilled in it. You could control another character by hiring out to the Empire and getting one of their wizards, or we could work something out in PMs.
