The Recruits: On the outskirts of Rosemont, Maine a group of survivors that have set up a small settlement within the neighborhood. The settlement consisted of the ten families that lived within the neighborhood. Even though it was small it kept the zombies away. They've been living in this state ever since the government fell and humanity became lost. It has been two weeks since the broadcasting and it has taken the group two weeks to decide it was time to either move on or stay. Half hellbent on staying the other half decide to split up in twos and head their own separate way to heighten the chance of them reaching the goal. These survivors are the ones most determined to obtain something they lost whether it is a family member, society, peace, adventure, or something more.

The everybody was gathered at the center of the neighborhood, the ones planning on leaving were in the middle and the ones staying simply scattered around them watching from a distance as if they were condemned. There was a total of ten people that planned on leaving most of them already paired with exception for four others. A veteran named Alex Mitchell, a wannabe doctor named Christina Weatherly, a outcast named Ian Cross, and a recently new member named Lydia Mullar.

Lydia Mullar: Lydia was the new girl in this group of people. Her brother had insisted on moving away from the city they had once lived in to here where most of their family was supposed to be. That wasn't the case though, when they got to the outskirts of Rosemont, Maine they realized that their family was no longer alive. She was angry about the fact that her family didn't live, but her brother forced her to keep going. On they walked till they met up with a group of people who soon recruited her and her brother. Her brother often went off on his own so it wasn't really like he was even a member of the group of people.

Lydia was outside, walking towards the group of several people who were gathered at the middle of the neighborhood. She arched her eyebrows in question as she stopped at the edge of the crowd of people, and she stood on her tippy-toes to get a better look of what was going on. She had heard a few words thrown around that people were planning on leaving, other people wanted to stay where they were because they believed that things would actually get better that the infected people would soon enough not be infected anymore and all of this will just be history. That wasn't going to be the case, Lydia was sure of it because of the unlikelihood that people would just randomly get better also that the infected, zombie like people wouldn't soon enough come for the people who didn't live in highly populated areas. She listened intently, her eyes swept across the crowd of people as she began to come up with her own plan, and thought about how to throw herself into this conversation. What could she say that would make sense, and that would get people to think about what they are trying to decide. Her mouth was partially open as if she was going to say something, but nothing seem to come to her brain so she just closed her mouth and kept her mouth shut till she thought it was necessary for people to hear her opinion.

The Recruits: At the center of the circle the ones planning on leaving the settlement were standing in pairs except for three individuals that appeared to not have partners. Two males and one female, they were equipped for the travel but their uneven number became a issue. The younger male in sunglasses stood off to the side as the female and veteran bickered on who should be allowed to go for their uneven number meant one of them had to travel alone or stay and either situation was unacceptable. When Lydia made her way to the circle the one in sunglasses, Ian Cross, watched her but he didn't say a word. Only when the arguing became intolerable did he raise his hand bringing about silence from the two.

Lowering his hand Ian continued staring at Lydia or at least it seemed like he was staring at her, "If I'm correct you're Lydia Mullar, you are the only one not to decided whether to leave. If you join use on our travel to the west coast you'll settle this unnecessary bickering. So, what is it stay or leave..." The entire group became silent and stared in Lydia's direction awaiting her answer.

Lydia Mullar: Lydia had been off day dreaming while people bickered about leaving this safety and going towards the west coast, or staying. When someone spoke to her she snapped back to attention. She stared back at Ian with her eyes narrowed slightly. She looked around for a moment before inhaling a deep breath. She swallowed hard and thought about it carefully. Anything she said would affect this group, and she didn't want to be the cause of anyone’s death because she had made the wrong decision to stay or go. Though something deep down told her that it wasn't very safe to stay in one place for too long due to the fact that sooner or later the zombies would find them. Another question swam around in her head: Were they prepared to see what was the reality outside of this so called safe place? So many question swam around in her head and before she could think about it the words seem to flow from her slightly chapped lips. "We can't stay here too much longer. Just because we are momentarily safe, doesn't mean it is going to stay that way, and soon enough we are going to run out of supplies." She was surprised by her words, it was everything she had been meaning to say. "I mean there may be some kind of hope for more people near the west coast, and a safer place to stay." She shrugged nonchalantly and made sure to look at as many people as she could in an attempt to get what she was saying through to them.

Her brother always rolled his eyes at her when she started talking about having hope in some place better. He had become so bitter after she had convinced him to come with her to get to their relative who should have been alive. They learned that she wasn't, that all she was now was a mindless zombie. It wasn't till after her brother had killed their relative to stop their suffering that he became bitter towards her. He became so rebellious. He was so determined to do as he wanted and it was her job to get him to some place safer right? To think more about how his health was than about hers. So what would he say if he heard her response to that one question? Would they stay or go? She guessed he would be either mad, frustrated, or he just wouldn’t care. Maybe he wouldn't even go with her and she would end up losing the last relative that she loved dearly. She couldn't force him to come with her so what would she do if he didn't want to go with her? These questions over whelmed her as she stood there, looking at several people who either look glad about her answer or angry that she would answer that way.
