• All sports teams practices are from 4pm to 6pm. Emergency practices can be scheduled by sport team captains or the coach. Practices can be cancelled for one reason or another by the coach.

• All students must maintain a C average (or better) to participate in sports. If your average drops below the minimal average you will be placed on academic probation and while you will still be required to go to games you will be benched during the game. It will be up to your coach (or captain) to decided whether or not you can still practice with the team.

• You can only play one sport per season. So you can't be on baseball team and volleyball team because they both take place during the spring season. You can play basketball in the winter and than play volleyball in the spring.

• Prior to game days, players will be giving a form by their coaches to give to their teachers to sign excusing them from class that day. If players fail to get their forms signed by their teachers by game day and miss the class their absence will be taken down as a cut whether they went to the game or not.

The boys' baseball team competes in the 2013 CIF Los Angeles City Baseball Championships. For the past two years the team has taken the championship beating out Van Nuys Senior High last year. The jv team isn't as good as it's varsity team finishing their season with an equal number of wins and losses. Coach Casey Quesnell coaches both teams. The mid-forty year old man has been coaching the Devils baseball team for the last twelve years and has won five championships in his time as coach. While he hasn't won the gold every year his team always makes it to the playoffs. He's an outstanding coach and his boys have a lot of respect for him. While the team is expected to stay in shape throughout the year official practices for the team starts two weeks before the first game and tryouts take place the week before that. Baseball practices are on Mondays and Tuesdays. If the coach or the team captain feels the team needs more time on the field they can schedule extra practices.

The boys' basketball team plays in the CIF LA City Boys Basketball Playoffs. They've been on a winning streak for pass four years. The Devils boys' basketball team is mesmerizing to watch out on the court. Deon Johnson coaches the varsity team and Kevin Cloghessy coaches the junior varsity team. The jv team isn't the best but they had an even number of losses and wins last season, so they're not terrible. Coach Johnson has been coaching the varsity team for over twenty years now and this is going to be his last season coaching the team before stepping down and retiring. While the team has a habit of taking home the trophy they have never had an undefeated season. For coach Johnson's final year the team wants nothing more than to give coach Johnson an undefeated season. The team practices on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

When it comes to Hollywood High's sport teams the football team dominates the boys' sports. With one of the longest running wining streaks the Devils football team has won the CIF Los Angeles City Football Playoffs for the last ten years. As amazing as that is it has placed a great weight on the players shoulders. No team wants to be that team that ends one of the greatest winning streaks ever.

Last year Devils Coach Randall Fenderson retired after fifteen years. Hollywood High alumni Dominic Carre who was once the captain of one of Coach Fenderson's winning championship teams has returned to coach the Devils. Not only is the pressure on the players to win but this being Coach Carre's first coaching job ever all eyes are on him to see if he will flop or succeed.

So far this season the Devils variety team has played three games which they returned victory from but that doesn't mean that the pressure isn't still on for the Devils. The jv team coached by Kevin Cloghessy has won three games but lost their last game. Which makes the jv team 3-1-0 so far this season and the varsity team undefeated. The football team meets on the foot field for practice on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

They Devils boys' soccer team had very different seasons last year. The varsity team made it to the second round of the CIF LA City 2013 Boys Soccer Championship. Which is far better than how the junior varsity team did last season. Out of the eight games that they played the only one won game. Losing the other seven. Leaving Coach Jorge W. Maldonado with a mixed season. This season the jv boys are really going to have to redeem themselves after the lousy season they played last year. The varsity guys are focused on pushing themselves harder this season in hopes of winning the trophy this year. The boys’ soccer team practices on Tuesdays and Fridays.

When it comes to sports the Devils boys' volleyball teams aren't the best or the worst. The team falls somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. Last season the varsity team played fifteen games. They won nine of the fifteen games. They tied for one and lost five. The junior varsity team had a pretty good season winning four out of their six games they only lost twice. Coach Scott LeWinter and Thomas Solorzano are really good coaches. Volleyball practices fall on Mondays and Fridays.

While the Girls' basketball team didn't win the playoffs like their male counterparts they are just as good as the guys. Although they didn't take home the trophy they did make it to the playoffs. Unfortunately, the lost the CIF Los Angeles City Girls Basketball Playoff not making it pass the first found. In spite of that the girl's still played a phenomenal season walking away with ten wins and only two losses. The junior varsity team managed to walk away with eight wins and four losses. Basketball practice is on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The Devil Girls cheerleading squad coached by Suzanne Kenney is a champion squad. They are six time consecutive winners Cheerleading Worlds Champions. Once you join the squad you better be ready for one hell of a commitment. If your a Devil Girl you can't play any other sports because cheerleading is a year round thing. In the fall they are on the sidelines of the football field cheering for the guys. When basketball season comes around behind football they move from the field to the court. Than when the spring comes about their season begins as they start cheerleading competitions. The Devil Girls on top of it all like hometown celebrities in California. People book them all the time to perform at events, which the funds either go to cheerleading expenses or charities. Say what you will about the Devil Girls but one thing you can never say is that these girls are slackers. The squad has practices on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The girls' soccer team is probably the only team in the school whose junior varsity team is better than its varsity team. Last year was a terrible season for the girls' varsity team. They played twelve games last season and of the twelve they only won two. They tied for one and lost the other nine. Coach Antonio Lira was far from happy last season and has promised to work the girls' harder than ever when spring rolls in. coach Mendoza ladies aren't the best but they played pretty well when compared to the varsity team. They played seven games last season and while they only won two they also tied for two. Losing only four games, which when compared to the varsity team's nine losses isn't so bad. They practice on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The junior varsity team didn't do well last season. They only won one of their games. That being said their going to have a long season ahead of them this year. While Coach Young's jv time flopped, the varsity team had a great season. They made it into the LA City Softball Championships. They got knocked out in the first round but that doesn't change the fact that they made it to the playoffs. The softball team has practice on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Our school's volleyball team is really good. Last season they almost had an undefeated season winning eleven out of twelve games. They lost in the Quarterfinals of the CIF Los Angeles City Playoffs. So far this season they have had four games. They lost the first but have won the last three. Unfortunately, the jv team has not gotten off to good start losing the only game they've played. Last season however they had just as good a season as the varsity team. They won seven of the eleven games they played. So despite the bad start people our confident that coach Young and the team will be able to turn things around. The volleyball team practices on Thursdays and Saturdays. They're the only team that comes in on the weekends for practice. On Saturdays they start at noon sharp and finish at three.

Can Alaia be a Devil girl? Do you have to be in the devil girl clique to be a devil girl?
