The How
Superhuman abilities in this role play come exclusively from scientific experimentation. There are two possible paths to gain superpowers. Either through the experiments of the Head Science Advisor, who works with the Head Militia Advisor, or by accidentally stumbling into the secret laboratory of a psychopathic paranoid genius and being submitted to those experiments (with or without your consent).
The Science Advisor's test are run exclusively on Enforcers (members of Eden's militia) once they reach the stages of human testing. However at the beginning of this roleplay, they have yet to begin animal testing and so this option will not be available until later on, and only for characters who are a part of the Militia or are about to graduate from the Militia Academy.
The second option is open to a wider variety of people, however, the further up the social ladder your character is, the less likely they are to be wandering around in the depths of Old York. Also, the process is extremely dangerous as the procedure can often go awry do to malfunctioning equipment or the lady scientist forgetting she already injected you with one of her serums and injecting you again.
The What
Superpowers can range from increased strength to technekinesis and many places in between, but do try to keep it reasonable (by which I mean two different powers are plenty three is pushing your luck and any more is an automatic no). Some peoples powers cover a range in a specific category. For example, mental manipulation can go from a slight suggestion to pick a certain option to full on possession of that person's mind and body.
The Why
The experiments are driven mainly by the Head Science Advisor, who aims to create an army of super powered beings to defend Eden from the threat of Erewhon. The Advisor supplements their research with that of a psychotic paranoid who works in Old York. Despite the brilliance of said scientist, her data is often unreliable due to the fact that she often has delusions or forgets whether certain events happened or not.
NOTE: As with most things, please, if you have any specific questions, or you're uncertain of a certain power/power set you want your character to have, or if you have a suggestion/idea or another way to gain powers in this universe, feel free to message me! I'm happy to answer questions and hash out ideas :)
