Age: 28
Gender: Male

Personality: Ambitious is a good word for him, to say the least. Siegmund is an expansionist, aggressively so, with an appetite for acquisition matched only by the shrewd aplomb with which he plans his incursions into other countries. He firmly believes, it seems, in the superiority of his own nation, and sees little moral issue in forcibly spreading that around. At least, this is how he seems to those viewing his actions from the outside. The man is clever like a fox, and just as sly.

Information: Siegmund Anselm is king of Dorthonion, Elysia’s large, aggressive northern neighbor. As things stand, Siegmund is poised to take most of the continent under his grip, but this would be significantly easier if he could command Elysia’s much-coveted mages, so it is to this country that he has first turned, after shoring up his border position by annexing several independent city-states between the two countries.

Relationship to Whom: King of Dorthonion

Age: 42
Gender: Female

Personality: Dianthe is an especially diplomatic soul, one who as a general rule, abhors violence. That said, her years of rule have taught her that sometimes, she must go against her own personal inclinations for the good of the people. She is an idealist, but one whose lofty aspirations are balanced by the intelligence and good judgement necessary to understand that sometimes, those ideals much be achieved through non-ideal means. She is especially protective and loving of her daughter and only child, Calliope, and has thus far attempted to spare her the worst realities of rule, knowing that she will have to confront them eventually but desiring to preserve her innocence for as long as she possibly can.

Information: Dianthe is the present Queen of Elysia and sits the Golden Peacock Throne, so named for the prosperity of the land it represents rule over. The King, ruler before her, died about ten years ago, and there was a bit of an internal struggle for regency, as the princess will not be eligible to rule until her twentieth year. She had proven to be an apt ruler, and the kingdom has flourished under her reign. She is especially popular with the common folk and the mages, both groups of whom have done especially well for themselves under her guidance. Her stance with the nobility is more mixed, as some of them were her competitors for the position of regent, and still resent that she seized it.

Relationship to Whom: Queen of Elysia | Mother of Calliope | Cyril’s Employer

Age: Ageless
Gender: Male

Personality: Lucifer is actually a pretty pleasant guy, most of the time. Granted, he has a rather vicious streak, but then, that would be true of pretty much anyone who managed to climb to the top of demon hierarchy. One has to be both immensely powerful and almost incomprehensibly clever to be able to do that, and he is both, assuredly the reason he’s been in charge for so long. Well, that and he knows how to pick the subordinates with the most potential. He is good to his allies and very, very bad to his enemies, and admittedly his sense of scale is quite skewed—he thinks very little of human deaths en masse, for example, though he acknowledges that death itself is not generally desirable for anyone, and indeed seems capable of mourning should someone die that he cares about. Such occurrences are very rare, however. He enjoys teasing and poking fun of people, especially his three generals.

Information: A demon of the highest caliber, some would say the demon, Lucifer is a pretty good example of what they are by nature. Though many demons are what most would describe as evil, this is not a necessary trait, and most occupy shades of grey. Darker ones, to be sure, and Lucifer is no exception, but to simply call him “evil” is to be too simplistic and hasty. His motives are complex, his psychology intricate and nuanced. Nevertheless, he is a demon, and certainly not the kind of person one would want to trust under anything but a binding contract. They are, after all, notoriously sly and selfish.

Relationship to Whom: The Archdemon | King of Hell | Cyril’s Father | Apollyon’s Commander

Age: Ageless
Gender: Male

Personality: Michael is not what he initially seems to be. He wears a manner of affected casualness and ease, and never lets anything penetrate that, save in the moments where his temper is ignited. This is a difficult thing to do, considering, but when it is achieved, he becomes very serious, and not especially merciful. He is not especially cruel, but he does in these moments qualify as strict, and perhaps even harsh, all with an eye to achieving the best outcome possible.

Information: Shangri-La is not what some would call a heaven, at least in the sense that no god lives there. It is the domain of the angels, more properly called the Deva, whereas Inferno is the realm of demons, better described by the term Asura. As the Supreme Commander of the Deva, Michael is responsible for gifting mortals with magic, and is himself the strongest mage in existence. He would have to be, in order to command the armies of Shangri-La in their near-constant struggle against the forces of Inferno.

Relationship to Whom: Sovereign Lord of Shangri-La | Lenore’s Father

Age: 38
Gender: Male

Personality: Emrys is at the pinnacle of the magical world as being the strongest wizard. As such, he could be a bit prideful. He is a dominant person. Thus, there are times when he is insensitive, making callous remarks. Because of such instances, he repeatedly makes enemies among his fellow wizards and witches. However, despite this, he does not have any evil intentions. Still, there are those who idolize him and admire him greatly for his expertise and business-like demeanor. To gain his current standing, he did not bet on his natural potential. He trained and studied hard which allowed him to demonstrate his intelligence. But, this also meant he could be a tad workaholic. Actually, he is the very definition of the word. By nature as well, he is a rather irritable person. He loses his patience quickly and he's high-strung and doesn't like to joke around which is related to his professionalism.

Despite his high-handed and distant professionalism, Emrys greatly feels responsible for his students and well-being of other people even animals. As such, he can be manipulative and sly when needed to help people who requires it. This shows how he holds himself accountable for many lives, and how he is willing to break rules if he needs to. Though, he is rather oblivious to people watching him when he works. He is so focused on everything he does, that sometimes he puts himself in danger which worries the people who care about him.

Information: Emrys was born as a commoner and an orphan, but due to his great potential for becoming a powerful wizard. He had been cultivated at the Academy and soon adopted into one of the nobles houses of Elysia, the Uisnech. As time goes by, he had taken the position as the youngest Headmaster at the age of 23 and the strongest magic-user with Level 77 which marked his existence in history books. However, this reputation of his ostracized him from the people as he is left by himself. Believing it to be the best and the proper way, he hid his loneliness in his professionalism which was seen through by Lenore Ourania, a girl who had been dubbed to be strongest, a title which would be inherited from him. From their strange encounter, he had developed a bond with her as they shared the same premises. And somehow, he had found a kindred soul in the girl and he became a mentor to her.

Relationship to Whom: Academy's Headmaster

Age: Unknown
Gender: Male

Personality: Abaddon possesses the perfect power that many demons desire. Because of this he is always composed and confident in his power. His air of aloofness and indifference is a product of dignity as one of the higher echelons and being Lucifer's General. He is more or less emotionless; only anger, annoyance, and dissatisfaction showing on his face. In battle he judged his enemy's power level and attacked with the minimum power necessary. He dealt with his enemies after determining their power. Once he had realized their weak point, their attacks are futile. He does not hold back his power, even against women as he rationalizes that all his prey is the same and defeats them accordingly. For one with such pride in his power, cooperation is proof of weakness and being alone is a condition for the strong. Once he judges someone as an obstacle, he is quick to kill without hesitation.

It is no secret that Abaddon is obsessive about knowing the identity of his father as he intends to kill him. This is his main drive to grow even stronger. As such, he felt nothing for others, sneering and dismissing humane feelings. Anyone in his way is an enemy whom he will exterminate without hesitation. Despite that, he has a very inquiring mind when there is something that he does care about, but at the same time, he had almost no tenacity of purpose. If he becomes interested in something else, he will arbitrarily turn his back on what he's doing, even during battle. Just like his fighting style, he is quick to make decisions and act on then immediately.

Yet, Abaddon does show the occasional mercy if one would call it, as he is not the kind to brutalize someone's defeat or would not even waste his time dealing with anyone weaker than him. Whether this is a whim or an honor, no one could really say. In any case, he does have a temper and are very easy to annoy which is capitalize on by Lucifer and Asmodeus.

Information: Abaddon had been abandoned by his father and with his mother killed. He had been taken in by a middle-class asura who was mesmerized by his appearance and raised him. Upon knowing what happened to him when he was but a babe, it had become his goal to find his father and kill him. This is why he became one of the demons desiring to rule Inferno. As such, he had established his own faction and became a prominent candidate for being the Archdemon. But, he was defeated by Lucifer in a climatic battle. He wanted to be killed for his defeat but instead was spared with a promise that if he stated by Lucifer's side, he will surely meet his father. And so, he stayed and is now one of the feared generals.

Relationship to Whom: One of Lucifer's General | Apollyon's Son

Image
Image

Age: Unknown
Gender: Female

Personality: Contrary to the depicted version of demons, Asmodeus is a bright and energetic person. She is also a tad bit mischievous in a playful manner often being partners with Lucifer in teasing Abaddon and Apollyon. Many males consider her attractive despite her appearance resembles that of a human. She alternates between melancholy and incredible optimism, often unpredictably. She is indeed stubborn and doesn't like to admit her mistakes, usually blaming other people. Also, she gets angry very easily, being an egotistical, irascible and impulsive person. Her behavior was considered eccentric, and she had little interest in others, at least until Lucifer "convinced" her to join him. Afterward, she became more mentally stable and gradually connected with her brethren.

Asmodeus is considered an oddity among the asuras. She is human-like as far as cooking food to eat and she is rather good at it. Although, Apollyon criticized her tea making skills, noting it was just hot water. Though her personality may be described as overpowering, it's useful to say the least. She has a knack for convincing others to do what she wants.

Information: Unlike other demons, Asmodeus appears human along with her features. As such, she had been heavily harassed. It also did not help that she considered herself to be a lower-level demon as she is unable to change into any monstrous form. This caused a great blow in her self-esteem and self-worth. Yet, she was not going down a fight. It was one of her many one against a lot fights that Lucifer found her. She was pummeled brutally and was about to be killed off. Still, she was not giving up and was defiant. Instead of being killed, a hand reached out to her which was his. She followed the now Archdemon ever since. It was under Lucifer's tutelage that her abilities blossomed and she even gained her monstrous and very powerful form granting her the position as one of Lucifer's General.

Relationship to Whom: One of Lucifer's General

Age: Ageless
Gender: Female

Personality: Gabriel, as Michael’s right hand, is a woman much accustomed to violence and warfare. This has made her into a stern and sometimes cold person, one who lacks her direct superior’s sense of gentle humor. Rather, she is disciplined, strict, and highly driven. There are those less educated among the Asura who actually believe her to be the leader of the Devas, because she has the manner one would expect of a military commander. That said, she always does what she believes to be for the greatest good, and unlike her fellows, thinks more often with her head than her heart, with one glaring exception that she refuses to acknowledge.

Information: Gabriel has been by the side of Michael and the other Deva for as long as any of them can remember. Her more militaristic style of management means that she sometimes clashes with her more merciful and forgiving commander, but for the most part, her heart is in the right place. She is an impressive mage, second only to Michael himself, and above even her kin in this respect. She has been going toe-to-toe with Asura generals for eons, and even once survived a one-on-one with Lucifer himself, as well as several with each of the others. Their footing is very even, to be sure. She is not especially happy with the current peace, believing firmly that Asura are toxic heathens who should be erased from existence.

Relationship to Whom: Michael’s Second-in-Command | Lieutenant-General of the Deva army

Image
Image

Age: Ageless
Gender: Male

Personality: Raphael may well be the most subtle and dissembling of the Deva. Where Gabriel is a sledgehammer, and Michael is at the very least generally honest and forthright, Raphael spins lies as easily as truths. This is not to say that he is especially fond of doing so, though sometimes it is difficult to tell. But he is generally the best at seeing small implications in words and actions, and so it is no stretch to say that for any given secret, Raphael is the person most likely to know it. His demeanor is generally pleasant enough, though there is something a touch sly about it, too.

Information: Raphael specializes in Scrying and Illusions magic, the most difficult and subtle of the subtypes, and especially in the areas of both that deal with mental manipulation. He is very good at altering thoughts or memories without anyone being the wiser to his interference, and the only sure way to stop him is to either be aware enough of him to fight him off, something that only a superior mage could do successfully, or be under the protection of such a person. He has sown a great deal of chaos onto battlefields because of this, often turning Asura soldiers against one another and allowing his troops to sweep in and clean up the rest. He is especially feared as an opponent for this reason.

Relationship to Whom: Michael’s Twin Brother | One of the Four

Image
Image

Age: Ageless
Gender: Female

Personality: Of all the Four, Sephiriel is perhaps the one who most straightforwardly fits with stereotypes of the Deva, in the sense that she is unflinchingly kind, merciful, and forgiving. This has led some to underestimate her, because she is not given to flashy displays of power or singlehandedly tearing apart battlefields. That is the last mistake most of them ever make. While friendly and even cheerful compared to most of the other angels, Sephiriel is no less fearsome on a battlefield—should she believe that the people in question deserve to die. If she doesn’t, and that would be most of the time, she fights to incapacitate, not to kill.

Information: Sephiriel’s magic is primarily elemental, and one would be hard-pressed to find someone with as fine-tuned a control over the forces of nature as she. She uses an ancient form of magic known as spellsong to cast, which earned her the nickname Stormsinger in what little human lore there is about the Devas. She is seen as a figure of mercy in those stories, the one most inclined to the mortal plane and its residents. It is hardly surprising, therefore, that when an angel was summoned to Elysia, it was she that answered.

Relationship to Whom: One of the Four | Emrys’s Contractor

Image
Image

Age: Ageless (?)
Gender: Female

Personality: Uriel is quiet, and in no small amount mysterious, leading even the other angels to view her as very strange. She seems to be very close with Michael, however, whereas Gabriel has a stated dislike of her that is not usually masked much. It is hard to get a read on what she is thinking or feeling, because in front of everyone but Michael, she simply follows her orders with a minimum of speaking or even action, making her incredibly efficient. She is sometimes referred to as the Ghost of the Deva because she fights in the same brutally-efficient fashion, scarcely even bothering to use magic and instead simply laying waste to hordes of Asura with nothing more than a sword.

Information: Uriel was only added to the ranks of the Deva and the Four a few years ago, meaning that almost nothing is known about her. She has never even been seen using magic, and nobody seems to have the first clue about where she came from.

Relationship to Whom: One of the Four

Age: 54
Gender: Female

Personality: Regal, sophisticated, and graceful, Lilura is without doubt a pinnacle of women born into nobility. Her words wrapped around with eloquence and knowledge. Her movements enacted with elegance and precision. As such, she is respected by her peers and subordinates. Her very presence commands reverence and authority. And rightfully so, she uses it with great manipulation and purpose. By nature, she is soft-spoken which alludes to her mysterious charm. There is always an air about of her which seems to interpret that she holds a wealth of secrets. Well, this is not mere impression. Underneath her pristine image as a Lady Royale and Matriarch, she is devious, vengeful, and cruel. Filled with ambition and the sense of superiority, she is able to cast anything away for the sake of a grand design. Of course, it is for her own favor.

Information: Born as the Eldest of the Khthonios siblings and to the First Queen, Lilura is the older half-sister of Aither and Phanes and has inherited the title of Lady Royale reserved only for those eldest daughter of a Sovereign. It is a style which could only be given once to a princess and lasts until death. As such, there is no two Lady Royale in any lifetime. By rule, she should had been the Ruler of Elysia not her brother Aither. However, her mother had been rumored to have an affair which her father had taken seriously. As a result, she had been bypassed for the throne and instead been married off to the Pallas Nobility which she now leads after the death of her husband. She also gave birth to two children, a son and a daughter.

Lilura was also one of the prominent and actually has the right to be a reagent due to her status and heritage. She is after all actually a Khthonios. Yet, she had lost to Dianthe. There had been rumors that she is practicing dark magic and is familiar with Devas and more so, to the Asuras. But, they are still rumors.

Relationship to Whom: Lady Royale of Elysia | Eldest Sister of Aither and Phanes | Calliope's Aunt | Matriach of House Pallas | Basileus and Chrysanthe's Mother

Image
Image

Age: 24
Gender: Male

Personality: Basileus is smart and hard-working. During his younger years, he was cocky at times but he can also be a bit of a coward. However, he is somewhat easily disheartened. His maturity and loyalty are notable traits, and he is adept - after a few initial stumbles - at saying what people around him exactly needed to hear in moments of stress. He is the "voice of reason", a wise and a kind leader. At the same time, he has a rather remarkable memory as he can recite an entire book and randomize verses without doubling up.

In addition, he likes to tease his sister and cousin and actually only does it to avoid giving straight answers, whereas he is usually silent or smiling when confronted by other people. Although he seems popular and generally liked by the people, he maintains a formal nature designed to conceal how he actually feels and thinks. He never shows negative feelings if he can help it, and keeps how increasingly hopeless he feels from everyone else about his situation. His reticence is self-harming and he grows more and more melancholy, to the point where others have asked him if he is well.

Information: The Heir to the House Pallas, it would certainly be him. Basileus is the eldest child of Lilura, Nephew to Aither, Phanes, Dianthe, and cousin to Calliope. He is currently third-in-line to the Golden Peacock Throne, right after his mother. At the moment, he works as a member of the Azure Council which advises and passes general legislature of the Elysia as proposed or suggested by the monarch. Actually, he is rather sickly and frail ever since he was young. Taken as a health condition, it is due to the great potential magic inside of him. The only problem, he could not access it or even use it. He is only a vessel for it and that is slowly destroying him inside as time passes by.

Relationship to Whom: Heir of House Pallas | Lilura's Son | Calliope's Cousin | Dianthe's Nephew | Azure Council Member

Image
Image

Age: 22
Gender: Female

Personality: Chrysanthe is a kind and helpful young woman who cannot abandon another in trouble. She takes her duties very seriously and is determined to clear her orders in which Basileus tells her to enjoy being Knight a bit. Due to being born as part of the Elysian Nobility and to one of the major houses, she is somewhat proud and despite her kind personality, she will not hesitate to get physical with those that challenge her authority or make fun of her abilities. She even challenged Lord Cyril Nishant to a duel after an argument , if one could call it that, over how to sharpen a blade.

At the same time, Chrysanthe is not afraid to act out on her own and will take matters in her own hands from time to time. Unlike her mother, she is someone who can be controlled and manipulated using her emotions. This usually leads to a lot of reckless, dangerous, and at times comedic moments. Nevertheless, she doesn't like hiding her feelings or wearing masks as much as possible. So, she is rather frank and unhindered in speaking her opinions, though, she does apply delicacy when needed. In addition, she may be considered vulnerable but can be strong and calm but she will never be indifferent.

Information: Lilura's sole daughter, she is the princess of House Pallas and said to take after of her father, a complete representation of the Pallas Bloodline. At the same time, she is fourth-in-line to the Golden Peacock Throne. Chrysanthe does not wish to involve herself in royal or aristocratic politics. At the same time, she is not that fond of what noble ladies should do. As such, she decided to become a Knight, just like the tales her father would read to her when she was young. There was great resistance to this decision but was ultimately allowed by her mother after some input from Dianthe. And now, she has become the Vice-Commander to the Crown of Thorns, second to Cyril Nishant, and known as the 'Lilac Paladin' due to her signature armor.

Relationship to Whom: Vice-Commander, Crown of Thorns | Lilura's Daughter | Basileus' Sister | Calliope's Cousin | Dianthe's Niece
