Sabine adores Syx. Feeding him is also pleasant because Sabine is the smaller half of that relationship. The demon certainly has a special place in his heart for his first pet, and quite enjoys just being near him when he's working.

Sabine loves gifting Thea with books that he thinks she would like, and often seeks her out after finishing a book to give it to her in the hopes that he can talk with her about it. He also identifies with her past plight, and feels a certain closeness to her because of it.

Sabine loves Nathalia in a very verbose manner. He showers her with complements and gifts. He also loves her hair, and will brush it for as long as she likes. He's also tickled by her her possessiveness, what little of it he notices, and is more than willing to oblige her every whim.

Sabine truly has no clue how much Lonan detests him. While the boy's evasion of his affections occasionally frustrates and angers him, the demon would still do anything Lonan asked of him. Except let him go.

Sabine adores Kira, and tends to treat her like a doll, buying clothes and small gifts for her endlessly. When he discovered that she liked gardening, he went to great lengths to furnish her with every kind of flower she wanted.

Sabine enjoys Lionel's company, but he does sense an ounce of the male's discomfort, and the distance in his eyes. He tends to occasionally follow the stoic fellow around adoringly, as he's wont to with the pets that don't actively adore him.

Sabine finds Hope entrancing, he loves to watch her, perhaps hoping to catch her unguarded for a fleeting moment. While her appearance could be considered plain next to some of the other pets, Sabine lavishes her too with exclamations of the beauty of her features because he finds her nontraditional looks just as striking.

Sabine is very glad that he saved Aedan, and enjoys the timid male's company significantly. He is highly protective of him, to the point of occasionally coddling him. He nearly always obliges Aedan's need for company, even if he was busy with something...or someone else. Though, Aedan's occasional coldness does frustrate him.

First and foremost, Aedan is jealous that Styx loves Sabine and that Sabine shows him with love and affection. Sabine told him that he was saved because he reminded him so much of Styx so he fears that Sabine picked him only for his resemblance of being beaten up and left on the street. Once the novelty wears off, he is afraid Sabine will forget him.

Thus far, Aedan feels neutral towards Thea. She seems like a nice girl and he doesn't have any qualms with talking to her. She is interested in stories and the two often have good conversations about daily living or about the latest books. She doesn't ask about his past and he doesn't ask about hers so they have an easy relationship going without truly getting close to each other thus far.

Aedan does not like her by any stretch of the word and avoids her at all costs. He sees her as a viper who will lash out at everyone and he has endured enough venom in his life that he doesn't want to feel it eternally because of her. He also has a bit of jealousy. He knows Natalia loves Sabine, she's rather obvious about it and she strives for his attention and often gets it. It frustrates him that Sabine holds affection towards her and lets her torment her other pets.Whenever she is in the room with him, he does his best to ignore her or escape to the privacy of his room or in Sabine's arms. The man has tendency to find him when he is fleeing Natalia.

Lonan is a source of confusion for Aedan. The more time he interacts with the man, the more he wants to know. He is a mystery and often refers to him as his black cloud. When Aedan does begin to feel affection towards this troubled man, he gets nervous and confused. He knows he has feelings for Sabine and the fact that no matter how hard tries to stop being gay, he can't help the attraction he has towards Lonan which makes him want to get close and yet stay away from the man to try and numb his own feelings. Thus far, they haven't had too much personal interaction

Kira is like a little sister for Aedan. She is so sweet and gentle and he finds it very easy to be calm around her. He often smiles in her presence and feels more at ease with her than anyone else thus far. As the youngest of three boys he never had the chance to protect someone, so he very much tries to be a protective big brother to Kira. They often sit in the same room calming each other down and sharing their writing.

Lionel and Aedan thus far haven't interacted much. Since both are struggling internally they often keep to themselves. In passing, Aedan holds a certain respect and admiration for Lionel and the older noble often reminds him of his oldest brother. Because of this similarity however, he doesn't actively seek him out for conversations. He'd rather keep his distance than become friends and be rejected for who he is just like with his real family, so for now, he is content to know him in passing.

As of yet, Hope is a neutral in Aedan's eyes. He sees her as a potential companion but is also very wary about what she is really after. It often feels like she is searching for something and he sees how he subtly manipulates others. He doesn't see her as his enemy and doesn't mind indulging her in polite conversation but as of yet, has no interest in giving her substantial insight into who he is.

Aedan is uncomfortable in his own skin. He used to be carefree and had a healthy love for himself but ever since his life turned for the worse, he had begun to hate himself and the fact that he is gay. He isn't comfortable with the feelings he has and the fact that he needs blood to survive now. He is still coming to terms with his new life and will hopefully learn to love himself again.

Sabine is a source of great conflict for Aedan. He is grateful that he was saved but he detests what he has become. He hates the fact that Sabine turns him on and that he holds love for him sine it reminds him of why he is in this position in the first place. And yet, he adores the man and needs his affection. He often fights himself and his whirlwind of confusions.

Lionel has no personal vendetta against Syx. Although he had been initially wary of the eldest human, so loyal and respectful to Sabine, he has found the man to be easy company outside the daemon's presence. There are many decades between their times and an even larger gap in past lifestyles, which Lionel finds both intriguing and estranging. Though always happy to discuss the pasts, he stops short of their respective meetings of Sabine. Despite Syx's gentle character, Lionel cannot find the camaraderie he so craves in the eldest human. Their polarizing opinions of their captor keeps Lionel a few steps away.

Melancholy. If a person were a word, Lionel thinks Thea would be ‘melancholy’. There is something about the older girl, so quiet and reserved, that he cannot overlook. He has never met someone so sad, but because she keeps to herself and does not push his boundaries, he doesn’t dare trespass on hers and ask why. They are good friends, mainly due to the fact that Lionel has found her geese to be good listeners, and the girl herself as well. He has many reasons to be grateful to her.

As far as Lionel knows, he is the only thing that Natalia has close to a ‘friend’ in this household, and even then he isn’t really. He feels bad for her, and although he disapproves of her hatred of the other humans and is disturbed by her unconditional love for Sabine, he cannot reject her. Besides, her company can even be enjoyable. They sometimes go horseback riding together or run into each other on the trails.

Lionel has internalized his anger and loathing for so long that sometimes he thinks himself numb to it. In that sense, he finds something cathartic in Lonan, so expressive in his animosity even after all this time. However, as he does not enjoy Lonan’s abrasive personality, they haven’t actually interacted too much. Lionel simply considers themselves allied in their shared hatred for Sabine and their circumstances.

Lionel thinks Kira a refreshing presence in an all too toxic atmosphere. After drinking in the tension and misery that pervades the household, spending time with her is a breath of fresh air. He enjoys seeing progress in her embroidery, so rare in this era of machine-made clothes, and he finds her fascination with his talents somewhat flattering. She is always welcome where he is.

There is no one Lionel hates in this house more than himself. Yes, even more than Sabine. Because although he will never forgive the daemon for kidnapping him, for adoring him, Lionel feels that he could have prevented it all if he had just been wiser. He could have escaped by now if he had just been stronger. He could be free right now if only he had the will. But he is duller, weaker, and more laughable than he’d thought.

Lionel does not understand why anyone would willingly enter into this hellish household. He also does not understand why Sabine took her in. After all, if the daemon could ‘adore’ any human that comes across his path, Lionel wasn’t worth anything more than the others. There was no reason for him to be taken. Utterly disgusted with himself for these feelings that run so close to jealousy, Lionel tends to avoid Hope.

"Another one ‘saved’ and another one tricked. He’s so misguided, but I can’t bring myself to look at him, let alone reach out… and that’s no fault of his. The problem is me. "

If Lionel can justify that Sabine did not choose to accept Hope, that the daemon had no choice, he can make no such excuses for the presence of this new human. Aedan is the first human Sabine willingly claimed since Lionel was taken, and it infuriates him. If he wasn’t worth enough to be the last, if he was just as easily replaced by a fallen lord taken off the street, why did he have to lose anything at all? At the same time, Lionel knows that it is not Aedan’s fault, knows that the boy is broken and is being deceived by the daemon – he knows that his feelings are unjustified and sick, but he cannot help them. So to avoid his own horrid thoughts, Lionel avoids Aedan. They have yet to have a proper conversation.

"It’s as if I downed wine in my frustration, and so giddy from the fragrance, so blinded by the hue, I didn’t notice the cutting poison in its taste. I don’t wish to blame myself, so desperately, I blame him."

The saddest fact is, had Sabine not kidnapped him that night at the masquerade - had they simply conversed, exchanged names, and parted ways - Lionel would have wished to be lifelong friends. This is the fact that frustrates Lionel the most. He is disappointed in himself for his poor judgement and utterly betrayed by the man he had hoped Sabine to be. And how the daemon treats him, like a precious thing, like a pet, Lionel can’t stand the indignity. All he wants is his life and humanity back.

Four and Syx butt heads constantly when it comes to their opinions of Sabine. For this reason, Lonan knows that Syx despises him just as much as Four does him. Syx is the most obedient pet in the manor, his mind twisted and warped, forcibly trying to shove Sabine's regime down the others' throats. They do not interact often, fortunately, and Four simply avoids him at all odds. In Lonan's eyes, Sabine and Syx are one and the same, so the anger he holds for the demon easily transfers over to One. Lonan is as stone cold to him as he is to everyone else.

Four could never respect Thea as a person, despite the sadness that has apparently clogged her being, just as it has his. The main reason for this, however, is that Thea seems a bit fake to him- supposedly she was like him, and yet as soon as she arrived at the house, all of that seemed to wash away immediately. She enjoys finery that she does not deserve, simply playing dress up and little else. She has become selfish, self-centered, self-deserving, and finally self-important. Lonan is surprised, however, that she has not become like the others within the house- dogged devotion, wicked words, misleading motions. Four avoids her like the plague- anyone who could think that material things could make one happy is one who does not deserve any attention in his eyes.

If he could have had one redeeming instance, it would have been locking Nattia up forever. Instead he allows her to pillage and terrorize the masses unchecked."

Four cannot stand her voice, her company, her presence, or anything else about her. Nattia seems to be his natural-born predator, always seeking to injure and destroy him. She is the lowest of the low, delivering blows that no person with any shred of honor and self-respect would ever deign to deal. They have never gotten along, and never will. He delights in the fact that Sabine pursues him more, if only for the reason that it boils Three's blood. They are always at odds, and Natalia knows exactly what to say to get to him. She is a devil and a witch whose sole interest seems to be harping upon him. It is very difficult to avoid her, as Sabine usually has the two of them together in attempts to gain Four's affection and Natalia always stuck to his side like a bad leech. Whenever they meet, there is no doubt that sparks will fly.

It is no strange fact that Four despises himself. He never did at first, seeing himself as a victim, but self-torment will do that to a person. He blames himself for everything that's happened, constantly beating himself up for not having been smarter or more aware. Every day is a living hell which he has to put up with. It is not only the fact that he has to face Sabine, has to face Natalia, has to face Syx and everyone else, and has to face waking up in constricting chains, but that he has to face himself everyday. A tragic, merciless war is ever raging against him. Four has tried everything as well- suicide, running away, hiding, locking himself up, everything. Sabine's blood prevents it all. He now simply resorts himself to cutting- anything to distract him from his self-consuming thoughts, anything to take his anger out on without hurting anyone else. He remains as a lockbox towards everyone. He has never allowed anyone near him, and he doesn't plan on changing that fact.

Kira is the closest thing he has to a friend, or at least is the one person in the house that he doesn't hate or is uncomfortable with. It is difficult for him though- she's always so busy with everyone else; everyone seeks her company, barring Lonan from the solace of her gentle touch and sweet voice. They share a connection that no one else has, though, as they are connected through time and circumstance. Despite being mistakenly ignored or overlooked by Kira, he has locked himself into a sacred duty. Four always seems to be within the same room as her when Sabine's rage acts up. He will always step in, is always acutely aware of Sabine's position in regards to Kira. He won't let the demon hurt her; it's an easy decision to make and one he makes every time. Lonan always takes the blows intended for her. He feels that this is the only thing he can really do for her to express his feelings towards her. He feels responsible for Kira's being in the house. He is responsible, as far as he's concerned, and as such pays penance for his forcing her into this life.

Four holds a subtle respect for Lionel, mostly stemming from the fact that he's on the same page as Lonan is in regards to this whole mess. It is not something so strong, however, as to warrant any real interest in the individual or any interaction. Lonan simply feels he has a bit of backup and validation in his hatred for Sabine. Lionel has never instigated any interactions between them, and seems to keep his distance, which Lonan is more than fine with.

Lonan dislikes everything about Hope. She was fool enough to seek shelter with Sabine, yet is clever enough to constantly pull invisible puppet strings on everyone else. Her views are unforgivable, misaligned, and petty. Lonan is suspicious of her in every manner of the word- he believes that her arrival at the manor was planned as well, in order to bring a new level of living hell to the lives of those within. It is rare for them to cross paths, simply for the fact that Lonan strongly keeps it that way. He will not even humor her with polite, pointless conversation or even listen to the false tone of her voice if they're in the same room. He will have absolutely nothing to do with her, and that is final. She, above all others, does not deserve even the faintest shred of information. He gets enough torment from the Sabine, Syx, and Natalia- he does not need to add anyone else to that list.

Lonan, above all else, is rather neutral to Aedan. He doesn't exactly know what to think of him other than the default need-to-avoid-everyone he has. Somehow Lonan seems to still have the ability to pity, or at least in this case feel that strong sense of failure that always looms over every new pet. He sees Aedan as a naïve individual, one of the weaker pets to have arrived. And with such it always means that it's only a matter of time before he gets chewed up and spit out by the house. As with everyone else, Lonan is wary of him, uncomfortable when he gets too near.

"Patient Zero- the cause of this disease that has hollowed my bones and blinded my sight. Sabine is selfish, critical, and hardly more than a child. He does not understand, he does not care. There is little doubt in my mind that I am nothing more than a broken toy he occasionally returns to, hoping to repair but inevitably failing and taking his frustrations out on."

Lonan's relationship to Sabine is complicated at best. Many emotions rage within him in regards to the demon, each seeming to mount or cancel one another out. The strongest is his hate towards him- he blames Sabine for everything, and rightly so, but mixed with this detest is a deep hurt that is always freshly dealt every morning. Four wasn't like any of the other pets, never could be, never will be. He was the byproduct of one of Sabine's tantrums, and nothing more than that. It is a constant battle of his- wanting the acceptance of the demon, to be valued like the others and to be shown that he wasn't just a mistake, but the absolute horror and disgust that he holds for the demon pushes that desire away every time. Sabine committed the ultimate betrayal against his person, ripped him from what he loved, what he knew, what he wanted. But Sabine thinks little of anyone but himself and what he wants, simply a slave to his emotions. At other times, Four is just too tired, too done to really care, and adopts a sort of neutrality toward Sabine for as long as they are apart. As soon as they're in the same room and Sabine is making a move on him, the anger bubbles to the top and takes over, the base need to escape from his grasps. Above all else, Lonan is always uncomfortable when in the demon's presence. Four does not like the feeling of vulnerability and being at the mercy of the demon's whims. He never knows if Sabine is going to reach out to try to love him, or reach out to try to strike him. It all seems the same anyway. Probably the sickest twist to the whole thing is that Lonan has an undeniable attraction to Sabine, one that drives him insane. Lonan simply attributes the feeling to some sort of dark ability the demon possesses and the confusion that clouds his own mind. He feels everything else towards the demon, so why not just throw a bit of attraction in there as well, just to spice things up and make it that much worse?

Syx gets under Natalia's skin in a way she has little defense against. No matter how she insults or demeans him, it seems to have no effect. It both frustrates and unsettles her. Further, he seems to almost take an interest in her, as if she is some sort of puzzle. This puts her off even more, and she can hardly stand being in a room with him without someone to distract her. When he starts getting close to Sabine, though, she can hardly help but hate Syx, not that it has any effect. This serves to make her all the more competitive against him, even if he does not seem to care to return the favor.

Thea is one whom Natalia picks at for no other reason than that she happens to be around. It is very easy to find Thea's insecurities, and Natalia quickly begins to grow bored and ignore her. Though when Natalia first joined the household Thea was her main target, Natalia now has bigger problems to deal with and her feelings of jealousy toward Thea have faded nearly to apathy. At times, though, she almost feels bad for the unassertive girl. Natalia will sometimes try to rile the girl into defending herself, but rarely gets very far with it.

Outwardly, Natalia seems all too assertive, confident, dominant, and vain. This is the appearance she so desperately tries to maintain to keep down those nagging feelings of rejection and inadequacy that haunt her constantly. She wants to feel as though she is good enough for Sabine, and thus, she tries to lower the others in the household. By doing this, she feels superior, but only for a time. Whenever she sees Sabine doting on someone else, she once again feels demoted to being that old maid that no one could ever love. She would never be enough for anyone just by herself, with no family fortune to make her worth something. So, she lashes out and demeans others. Honestly, she would much rather run off and travel the world, even if she traveled alone. But Sabine's blood and attentions have so tangled her that she can no longer imagine escape.

"Four is little more than an irritating, unimpressive, ragged boy lurking around in the shadows. He is so full of spite that I can hardly help but feel affronted. Even worse, though he acts like he wants nothing to do with anyone, he still manages to get Sabine all over him. How it irks me to no end. He is like a little witch boy, or an enchanter. Perhaps we should just burn him at the stake and be done with it... He was not even meant to be here. Sabine's only interest in Four was as a tool to spite Four's foolish lord. It is a fact I frequently remind him of, especially when the boy starts getting too high in Sabine's attentions. Those attentions hardly mean anything after all. Four is little more than Sabine's little plaything, only valued for his uses. Oh, how the boy irks me."

The main things that Natalia and Four share are an intense dislike and spite for one another. They get in scraps as often as two unfriendly cats, and, whenever Sabine is not nearby, Natalia cannot stand even being in the same room for long without insulting the unhappy boy. Not only is there something about his reserved, disgruntled personality that so clashes with her own, but Sabine seems to adore him. Though Lonan tries so hard to avoid the demon, this only makes him more desireable to the demon. This definitely puts the boy immediately on her bad side. The affection she craves and strives to earn from Sabine is so freely given to the resentful Four that Natalia becomes more jealous of Lonan than the others, for the most part. Even when Sabine is around, Natalia still remains cold and harsh toward him, which makes it all the more obvious how much she dislikes him. He seems always to rile up her competitive nature without even trying to do so, and she is on edge whenever he is around. Frequently, all the resentment Natalia bears deep in her heart toward Sabine ends up expressed toward Lonan instead.

"Ah, our manor's own sickeningly sweet cherub. All that sweetness in one place makes me want to gag, so I can hardly handle being around her too long. You understand, no? When we sit and embroider together, she often admires my work. At least the silly girl has sense in that regard. Unfortunately, Sabine seems to like her sweetness. In general, Kira's kind, selfless attitude makes Natalia often feel a bit off balance. Even though she highly dislikes how much Sabine dotes on her, it is hard for Nattia to outright hate the girl. It is not odd to see them sitting together quietly as Natalia embroiders some new project or peruses a book. When Sabine starts pampering Kira, though, Natalia will become more insulting for a time, increasing the uncomfortable air between the two.

"With Lionel... it is hard to say. He is a gentleman, of course. That is the only reason I can stand being around him. His riding is excellent, and his sense of dignity is so strong, it is almost laughable. Still, he is so distant and formal it makes me feel tense. I suppose it cannot be helped. A man will be a man, after all. A little distance may even be wise."

Natalia's relationship with Lionel is somewhat complicated on her side. He is one of the few in the house that Nattia does not despise, along with Kira. His dignity and nobility attracted Natalia to him after a short time of angrily avoiding him when he first came. His formality makes her feel oddly at ease as she had not felt since she was a child. They found common ground in horsemanship that allowed them to share an activity together. Still, there is a definite level of discomfort that resides between them. Natalia's obsessive love for Sabine often stymies her companionship with Lionel. Further, though she is hardly as harsh with him as with the other 'pets,' she cannot turn of the habit completely and this can lead to her saying things she does not intend. Even more, her attitude and actions against the other 'pets' stirs up underlying currents that blacken the companionship with Lionel. She knows he has noticed her actions around the mansion, but he hardly sees the depths of the harshness. This creates a distance between them that possibly will never be closed. Due to this, Natalia does not truly know how she feels about Lionel, and perhaps never will.

"Hope, ch. If anyone was misnamed, it was she. That miserable little trollop belongs in an asylum, not among society. She is unspeakably vile and manipulative. Still, she seems to find joy in doing mundane, nasty, hard labor. I suppose there always will be a definite distinction between servants and the Nobles they are destined to be beneath. If this little commoner thinks she can control me, she has another thing coming to her. If she were wise, she would mark my words and watch her back. I may not remain so patient with her in the future."

If there were anyone in the manor that Natalia would call her rival, it would be Hope. The very sight of her face is often enough to fill Natalia with a cold loathing. They seem constantly to be trying to get the edge on each other, and the insults Natalia exchanges with Hope are of the most scathing variety. Natalia has, over time, become scornfully aware of Hope's manipulative behavior. It can set her off balance, since she is more used to being on the offensive than on the defensive. It makes her all too uncomfortable to have such familiar tactics used against her. Hope often competes with her for Sabine's affections. Natalia rises to the challenge eagerly and at every point, but her knowledge that Hope does not love Sabine but merely uses him makes the fight even more bitter. Though Hope often succeeds in getting a rise out of Natalia, she works hard to return the favor.

"Ah, Aedan. The newest miserable addition to the house. He acts like a lost child at times, an amusing picture indeed. Aedan is another ‘Pet’ who easily stirs up Natalia’s intense jealousy. She had wished that Hope would be the last one that Sabine would drag home, so she was even more stirred up when Aedan came around. This was especially exacerbated by how he seemed favorable toward Sabine’s intentions. Over the years, Natalia has been gradually calming and adapting to his presence. She mostly ignores him entirely, until he starts getting too close to Sabine for her comfort. When that happens, the insults and underhanded snubbing begin afresh.

Natalia has loved Sabine dearly, ever since he asked her to come away with him. Or, at the very least, she loved his attentions and the possibility he presented to escape her life. That strong tie to him has definitely warped her personality toward fierce jealousy for his attention. She does realize that her infatuation with him has harmed her in some ways, and that it is unlikely she will ever have his total attentions. Still, every time he compliments her, gives her a gift, or interacts with her, she is pulled right back into those same, deep-seated affections toward the demon. She both loves him, and deep down, resents him.

"He's a kind man, and one has to appreciate that in another. I do enjoy being in his company, he is gentle towards me, and I am so very thankful he allows me to view his very beautiful garden. He is an important flower in the garden of my life, such as many others I care about. However, I always have the thought at the back of my mind that we have clashing opinions of Sabine, and I always have to remind myself our situations are vastly different."

Kira doesn't necessarily have mixed feelings about Syx, but it doesn't mean it doesn't get a little complicated in her head. She feels as if she could become very very close to him, but is limiting herself simply because he feels a different way about Sabine then herself. She constantly tries to stop herself form feeling that way, as she fully understand why he feels that way, but it's a long process. She just sticks to different conversation topics to him, avoiding the subject of Sabine all together. She would't dare force her opinion down his throat. He's very sweet to her, even planting some flowers for her in his garden, and Kira can't help but fully appreciate him and his personality. It's really hard for her not to smile around him, and she never holds that back.

"Thea and I share a lot of the same aspects of our pasts, so I feel as if there is little tension between us. Despite us having our apparent differences, I have a silent understanding of the girl, and she back to me. I never have a fear when I'm near her. She means more to me than sometimes I realize, and if she were to vanish from my life, there would be an emptiness in me that I wouldn't know how to fill again. There is just such an understanding between the two, so much similarity but difference, they couldn't help but take some sort of comfort in each others presence. How Thea felt about her hair, Kira felt of her eyes. Both had sour relations with men, and both share a fear of fire. Most of the time, they will simply lie outside in the night, staring up at the beautiful stars, just comfortable being next to each other. Kira very much treasures Thea. Because the girl is so dainty, Kira will freely hem her clothes so they fit her small frame, enjoying to help the girl out in whatever way she can.

Kira is uncomfortable around the girl, that is a given. Considering her usually mean natured and almost toxic ways, there's no doubt she doesn't mush overly well with Kira's own delicate and more quiet nature of being. However, Kira relates on some deep level with the girl. Natalia's relationship with Sabine, with her nature of taking his outraged fits, reminds her all to well of her old toxic relationship. She understands the girl, she knows she's not just evil and thats the end of it. Due to this, if any of her friends ill-talk the girl, Kira will often speak up, if only a little bit, in defence for her. She's fine with everyone not forgiving her with her wicked ways and spewed words aimed at them, but Kira always will always forgive her if she acts bad-mannered towards her.

However, she herself would take any pain inflicted on the boy as she hates to see him in such torment. Whatever he needs, she will be there for him. The less trouble she causes, the less she bottles up, and the less she will have to face with the inevitably bottle blows up in many shattering shards. At this point, her emotions are a ticking time bomb that could so easily be set off by anything. How she is now-- the sadness she faces and the discomfort she feels in her own skin-- will be no match when she finally comes to terms with her severe depression, when she finally faces the realities of what has happened to her throughout her entire life. But as time passed on, Hope simply stopped, Kira becoming confused as to why. Now Hope tends to simply drift around the edges of Kira. It's like she is near her, but never close to her. Kira wouldn't mind being her friend, but is particularly unsure how Hope feels about her, so in fear of stepping on the girls toes, she'll often only reciprocate any conversation she starts with her.

Aedan is a very special person to her, and probably the one she trusts the most out of the entire group. Kira tries so hard. She tries so hard to understand Sabine, and in some aspects, she does. She really wants to forgive him, but at this point it's in a limbo of her just having given up, but not truly getting over everything that has happened to her-- For everything that was, and still, is being done to the others. It's a constant constant struggle not to fall for some sort of Stolkholm Syndrome towards him. He is so very kind, and so very doting just as her fiancé was, but she is so very timid around him as she's in constant fear or his wrath. And above all, Syx goes along with manipulations so long as he doesn't think it will hurt people. Hope appreciates his simple dedication.

Hope finds Thea's care of her geese and her lack of shying away from work admirable, but knows little more about the quiet pet than that. Someday she intends to tail the girl, at least long enough to discover more about her than easily known.

Natalia is the one person who raises Hope's ire upon sighting. After so many years of being underneath the feet of ladies that acted like they were the most important people in the room, Natalia's excellent re-enaction of such self-absorbtion makes Hope recall too much of the darkness she ran from. Additionally, Hope resents that out of the entire house, the only one who manipulates and forces Hope to be on the defensive is Natalia. Hope is very scornful of Nattia as well, because for all the subtlety and manipulation that proves her competence, Natalia is stuck in a cycle of what Hope considers self-delusion, and she takes great joy in taunting the girl about this. Hope longs for a day when she can see Natalia crushed by the realisation that she's not special at all to Sabine, but considers it unlikely to come anytime soon.

Hope dismisses much of Lonan, having decided early on of two things. Foremost, he was likely never to talk to Hope in the first place, and secondly, he would likely be very stunted as a pawn due to how he has cut himself off. However, despite how easily Hope tries to dismiss Lonan, he is a very uncomfortable presence for her. She is all too aware of the hatred directed at her the instant she passes into Lonan's line of sight, and having attempted conversation, is also aware of the refusal to communicate with her. Inside, she is a little frustrated at how he has decided she is to be hated eternally, and curious, oh so curious, about why he sees her that way.

When Hope and Kira first met, Hope quickly slipped into the manipulator's role, and Kira danced along like a puppet. It was almost too easy to trick or maneuvre the sweet, kind Kira. As par of course, Kira stumbled upon some evidence as to the manipulation, but she simply forgave Hope. And that was the odd thing that broke Hope's hold over Kira, and her want to. She could not understand this person who held no actual resentment for the manipulation. She could not fathom this child-like innocence. And so she distanced herself, in a twisted mix of emotions. Hope desires Kira's child-like freedom and ability to forgive. Hope wants to befriend and find out more about Kira. But at the same time, she cannot bring herself to come any closer. Jealousy? Curiosity? And a sense of fear? The jumble of confusion that makes up Hope's feelings towards Kira leave her too disoriented to actually approach the girl or to hold conversation with her without prompting, but she cannot help but find herself wandering into the vicinity of her.

Lionel is similar to Lonan in that he seems adverse to Hope's very presence, though she cannot quite work out why. The difference is that he does not seem to openly hate anyone other than Sabine, and he is the only person in the house who seems on at least generally okay terms with everyone. Even little Nattia doesn't mind the moody noble, and in fact seeks his company out sometimes. What is it about this young looking gentleman whose hair grows as long as a lady's? The questions intrigue her, and though he managed to find ways to escape any conversations she has tried to trap him into so far, she only wonders even more.

Hope is quite content with herself and her situation for the most part. Despite the despair that followed her so closely behind prior to her meeting Sabine, she is very satisfied. A few gripes, certainly, but mostly satisfied. Perhaps the one thing that irks her about herself is that when others speak of childhood or games played in the house, she only remembers the bite of the matron's glare and the sharp taste of disappointment. The gruelling workhouse and its constant regime of work and learning. She desires something more, something of a childhood that she has lost. And though she occasionally gets to indulge her child-side, too often the harshness of reality forces her to hide it behind walls and doors.

Like many others, Aeden inspires some curiosity in Hope. Although unlike others, it is for what she knows about him, rather than what she does not. Storytellers have always been a thing of amazement for her, and it is a mix between child-like wonder at their worlds and jealousy at their skills that keeps Hope returning to hear another tale. Having one in the house is exciting for Hope, but she has held away from him so far, knowing that because he writes his stories down, to approach him is to potentially reveal her lack of learning.

Sabine does not command the respect that Hope pretends, and often Hope finds herself mentally amused at the blindness of the demon, but at the same time, both his presence as master and the gifts he has given means that he commands at least a little loyalty in the former servant. This does not mean Hope is not going to use Sabine to get whatever she wants, oh quite contrary, Hope finds Sabine's willingness to be generous in exchange for the willingness to interact with him quite useful. Hope also finds it comforting that he has such a penchant for praise, as it helps assuage the wounds of old, where her beauty was considered unremarkable and plain. Hope is never sure entirely where her feelings stand on Sabine, as his rages make her uncomfortable, and his kindness touches her.

Syx does not think of himself in a highly manner. At some points, he even sees himself as an enemy. A constant nagging voice in his head that is always belittling him or question his motives is ever present. It is the voice of his disorders. He forgets to often take care of himself and would bend over backwards for even someone who hated him. He doesn't have a cruel thing to say about others, but towards himself he is a monster.

Out of everyone is the household, it would be number Four that Syx has the biggest beef with. He still respectful towards the unnamed man as long as he is respectful towards those around him. He doesn't mind being disrespected, as long as the others are well taken care of, Sabine and Thea especially. Although there are times where Syx, after quite amount of time, will find himself annoyed with the male, he does indeed feel sorry for him as well. To have so much anger towards everyone and everything, well he couldn't imagine. Through perception, he can tell that Four has gone through some kind of troubles, even though they haven't exchanged many words to each other, unless it was Four to Syx. He can tell that the man has some sort of emotional problems and he somewhat feels connected to Four because they both share the same self hate. Overall he just avoids him, due to the fact that he hates most confrontation unless he is ultimately angry.

Overall Hope is a friend. A good one, not so much. Syx is no naive. His hundreds of years alive make him well aware when someone is trying to take advantage of him. As long as they are minuscule desires or they only affect him, he will not be bothered to comply with her desires. Aside from that he enjoys helping her with housework and loves learning about the new recipes she has to offer him.

As much as he tries, Syx cannot get Aedan to open up to him. He figures it is because of the way that he was taken, close to death just like he had been and that is what Sabine saw. He can pick up on the jealousy the man feels for Syx, but he can never understand why anyone would be jealous of him; he is a vile beast that drinks too much. But alas, there are those that think it is important because he was the first taken. Because of Sabine's desire to keep taking, it shows that Syx was not enough, but none of the other pets that are jealous will understand this. Aedan is always distant with Syx, and overall he feels like he somewhat avoids him, but Syx will always address him in a kindly manor, as he does to everyone else.

Although Syx is not in love with Sabine, his utter dedication for him would make you think twice. Syx views this man as his savior and without him he would be dead. In the past he would have been fine with dying. But after everything he has seen and experienced, he is so grateful to have lived so many lifetimes. He would do practically anything Sabine asked him and would stick up for him in a heartbeat. He goes to him if he needs to be consoled and loves having the deamon wrap his arms around him. He means the world to Syx and when people are against the person he holds so close to him, it can make him pretty upset. Often times Sabine has had to hold him back from going ballistic, but still no one has seen his rage that he has and that could come from disrespecting Sabine. Everyone should be appreciative of everything Sabine has done for them.
