[OOC] The World

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby overkill on Sun Apr 03, 2011 1:17 am

After the traumatic events of Pluto's Kiss, The World was released as the MMO RPG since the disastrous crash caused by the a fore mentioned virus. However, the world had its problems and caused some trouble such as inducing coma's because people had tampered with the game. Eventually, much of the information was lost in a fire. Then the World: R2 was made as a replacement. Sadly, R2 followed after its predecessor and caused problems thanks to a virus. But, it was eventually rectified with a patch, jokingly called, "The World R2.5" Thus everything went back to normal and people could play The World safely. That's what everyone wanted to say, but the people at the C.C. Corp. knew better, this new version is just like any other and someone could just as easily manipulate it.

Classes:

Adept Rogue - Unlike other classes, its users do not specialize in a single weapon, or form of combat. Instead of practicing in the use of a particular type of weapon, an Adept Rogue acquires several forms through Job Extend, each of which allows him or her to use a different weapon type. Naturally, this calls is a jack-of-all-trades and a master of none, being able to do more, but not as well. The User has 4 points to spend on classes upon creation:

  • Blade Brandier - 1 Point
  • Edge Punisher - 1 Point
  • Twin Blade - 1 Point
  • Flick Reaper - 2 Points
  • Lord Partizan - 2 Points
  • Tribal Grappler - 2 Points
  • Macabre Dancer - 3 Points
  • Harvest Cleric - 3 Points
  • Shadow Warlock - 3 Points
  • Steam Gunner - 3 Points

Blade Brandier
- A Blade Brandier's damage and hit rate are somewhere in between Twin Blade and Edge Punisher, making it an average class in terms of strength. In regards to speed, the Blade Brandier is not as fast as a Twin Blade or Tribal Grappler, however, they are much faster than heavily armored classes, such as Lord Partizan.

Macabre Dancer - Macabre Dancers are the expert class for status effects and parameter changes, and are very balanced casters, learning both healing and attack spells. Like Harvest Clerics and Shadow Warlocks, Macabre Dancers gain spells incredibly quickly, at a rate of almost one per job level, but learn no arts.

Edge Punisher - Edge Punishers excel in physical attacking, especially against armored foes; however, they are much slower than classes such as the Blade Brandier. Edge Punishers also have higher defense from the heavy armors they can equip.

Flick Reaper - Flick Reapers are very weak to long range attacks. They're the medium range, "area attack" class. They "flick" multiple enemies and push them away before they can get close enough for melee attacks, but a good Steam Gunner or Lord Partizan could overpower them by attacking from afar.

Harvest Cleric - Their favored weapons are staves, which give bonuses to their magic and elemental stats, and can be used in melee combat, being considerably physically stronger by level than grimoires but weaker than any other type of weapon. In exchange, Harvest Cleric staves give a much lower magic bonus than Shadow Warlock grimoires, though the elemental bonuses are around the same. Like bayonets, neither staves nor grimoires have special types (i.e. "Hold and Release", "Rapid Attacks") for melee combat. Like Macabre Dancers and Shadow Warlocks, Harvest Clerics learn spells incredibly fast, at a rate of almost 1 per job level, but learn no arts.

Lord Partizan - Lord Partizans have good medium range attacks, but don't excel at "sweeping" attacks like Flick Reapers. Their defense and physical attack stats are very high, with magical attack being their only real weakness. They're also more monster-oriented, with a lot of good armor-piercing and anti-air weapons and skills. Their skill progression for low levels is also among the lowest. Overall, this class can cause the most immediate damage.

Shadow Warlock - Their favored weapons are Grimoires, which give bonuses to their magic and elemental stats, and can be used in melee combat, although with very little effect. Shadow Warlock tomes give a much higher magic bonus and have a much lower physical attack than Harvest Cleric staves, though the elemental bonuses are around the same. Like bayonets, neither staves nor grimoires have special types (i.e. "Rapid Attacks", "Hold and Release") for melee combat. Like Macabre Dancers and Harvest Clerics, Shadow Warlocks gain spells very quickly, at a rate of almost one per job level, but learn no arts.

Steam Gunner - Steam Gunners are the physical equivalent of Shadow Warlocks. Their shots are skills that operate exactly the same way spells do, but deal physical damage instead. Steam Gunners' shots have greater range than any other physical hit, and their physical attack stat has the fastest progression of any class (as of Rebirth). In exchange, their melee hits take the same penalty as those of the other "caster" classes in R:2 in that they lack any of the special types (i.e. "rapid attacks", "hold and release") that most classes have access to.

Tribal Grappler - This class has the advantage of a very high attack speed, allowing it to achieve normal Rengeki extremely fast, in addition to very high HP. Their defense, however, is very low. They also have a very limited repertoire of arts.

Twin Blade - In The World, Twin Blades are extremely versatile, with more weapon types and subtypes than any other class. Their attacks are somewhat weak, but quick and easy to combo. Twin Blades have high agility and attack with two short swords. Their rapid attacks leave no opening for an opponent to counterattack.

Race:

Human - Humans come with many different appearances in the game, and have average stats. The have developed technologies such as Steam Alchemy.

Beast - Beasts have three tribes:

  • Ya Tribe Beasts appear large and intimidating, boasting high strength and defense. However, they have low magic defense and attack stats. Their name comes from the Chinese word for "fang" (牙).
  • Lei Tribe Beasts - Although Lei Tribe Beasts usually have the size and shape of human characters, they tend to have canine or feline appearances. Lei Tribe Beasts have high speed and agility, but poor defense.
  • Tu Tribe Beasts are small animals in appearance. They have limited defense and strength attributes, however, their magic attack and defense are are very high. All members of Medic Union use this race. Their name comes from the Chinese word for "hare" (兎).
