Nation Name: Iria

Nation Flag: Though not a flag as such, Iria can be recognised by the symbol present on their ships, consisting of an abstract pair of cupped hands, with a star-like shape in their palms, symbolising the Ri’s gift of art to the multiverse.

Major Gentellic: Iria is populated by individuals of many races who have forsaken their own nations for the art and graceful ways of the Ri, but the primary race are of course, the Ri themselves. The Ri are humanoid in appearance - their skin is usually pale tones of purples, blues, silvers and yellows and often slightly scaled or interspersed with intricate plantlike growths or bead-like adornments. Their head generally has a 'crown' adornment upon the top, which can resemble blooming flowers, intricate patterns of lights or fins - the larger this is the greater their potential to project their illusions. On that note, Ri possess the unique ability to create illusions around themselves, be that in auras of colour, scenery for a play, or a disguise or invisibility – this also extends to smell and sound, but not touch or taste. Often this ability must be exercised through a medium such as dance, song, or any number of creative arts. A beautiful but distinctly alien race, the Ri tend to mingle well wherever they go with an air of ethereal grace. The split of male-female Ri is approximately 20:80. Ri have a natural propensity for psionic gifts, though this is not universal. Ri live to approximately 300 years old.

Nation Population: Undocumented, estimated around three trillion across the galaxy, including those that are simply amongst other races with no attachment to the council or Home-Fleets.

Language(s) Spoken: The Ri themselves have an innate ability to be understood by any race they speak to, though they speak in their own tongue, the being they are conversing with hears their first language. The Ri also possess innate telepathy.

Government: The Ri idealise freedom and liberties, but every nation needs some form of governing. The Ri are led by a high Council, with representatives from each of their guilds. The Council is led by an elected individual, who whilst having greater power, cannot do much if their Council resists them. Each fleet additionally has its own triad council subordinate to the council itself, consisting of a Minister of the Law, a Minister of the Ships and a Minister of the Treasury.

National Pride: Music, the arts, writing, acting, dance – anything creative or theatrical, the Ri are probably good at it. There is a definite gender split between the talents the Ri possess, while the men are more talented at writing and acting, the women are generally more artistically and musically gifted, though music is a key feature of every Ri’s lives.

Important Locations: The Ri have no home world, as theirs became uninhabitable after a series of natural disasters, and dwell on numerous massive space stations throughout the galaxy en masse, but also thousands of smaller space stations, or on other nations’ planets. Their main ‘Home-Fleets’ are ‘Iria’ (the largest, and with the name of their former homeworld), ‘Loria’, and ‘Elania’.
