I know there's a lot of pokemon fans on the website, so I thought I'd just make a pokemon thread for people to share stories, teams, styles, favourites and all other things like that. Heck, I even know we have one or two people who follow pokemon competitive strategies and things like that.

Oh and here's me and my girlfriend working together on a Let's Play of Pokemon Blue with randomized pokemon.

I still get irrationally angry when I try to play pokemon stadium. The AI cheats.

I tried out playing competitive pokemon once, it got too hardcore for me and I was too bad at video games so I stopped. I remember my favorite team though, it was a Rain Dance team that focused on Shedinja. I had to adjust it when Politoed got Drizzle and tons of things got banned because they suddenly became OP, but it remained mostly the same: Protect Shedinja, get Shedinja in, get a couple Swords Dances up, sweep everything.

Ferrothorn in rain is unstoppable. Other than that throw a swords dance onto Garchomp and sit laughing.

I also don't know why everybody thinks Fairy is a legitimate threat to Dragon anyways. They have no defensive half values, so unless it's really fast or bulky, the STAB dragon move should do the trick

i use to be a big heavy Pokemon Black&White Online player but it kinda died off but i have been a Pokemon Fan almost my whole life

Ahh, man. I'm still annoyed that I havent been able to get my hands on Pokémon X & Y, everything just looks so much better. Though, I heard that it's laughably easy? But then again I never really had any trouble beating the main storyline with a Pokémon game... So I don't really know what to think/expect of that.

What have you got to share?

So does anybody have any custom rules that they like to play by in order to make the game more challenging? Such an example is one I saw that was based off of the Avatar cartoon series where every Pokemon was grouped in to one of the Four Nations (Earth, Fire, Wind and Water) based off of various attributes: mainly type. The rule was that you had to pick one of the Four Nations and then you could only catch Pokemon grouped in that category. I've never tried it and so I'm not sure how challenging it would be but at least it is creative.

I really like what you did Patch in your YouTube video but I've been spoiled to my DS and I've not touched my emulator in a long time so I can't use any patches such as random encounters.

I am currently playing X and if I don't get side-tracked by the new Smash Bros. coming out, I might get one of the previous titles such as Black or White. This is because I've already beat X and I'm not sure I feel like waiting for the re-vamped Ruby and Sapphire to come out in November.

I occasionally play online but I'm not a competitive player and I usually take a whooping because I play with my favorites (or with custom rules) rather than playing with stats. I do factor in things like Nature and other basic stat plays but I don't go through a hundred eggs looking for that perfect stat set-up.

I am currently playing a Nuzlocke of Pokemon White. I hadn't played Pokemon White in a while so re-adjusting to Gen V was a little difficult at first, but I have done well so far. I am through the third Gym with zero deaths.
