I'm interested to know if there is a space where we can just write for the sake of writing? A place where everything is publicly viewable, but no direct comments or responses can be given. Instead there could be a separate "review" posting section which shows up on a redirected page for viewing, but not on the main posting/writing page itself so there's no clutter.
Is there a forum like that? If not, could we perhaps think about making one?
I found that roleplaying on this site over the years turned me on and off to the community given how often people just stopped posting here and never replied or responded to messages again. It would be nice if we could continue our roleplaying adventures in a public forum even if we turn it off to comments and such. At least we provide each other with entertainment, and if someone wants to role-play with us they can contact us about their interest the old fashioned way.
Win-win, as I see it.
Although I will admit there is an element of selfishness in this request.
As a writer I have a near unquenchable thirst to write something nearly all hours of the day, and waiting for role-plays to be updated with posts from others who can only do so once or twice a week doesn't help to satisfy that thirst. As well when we make role-plays, as the GM we often have to sacrifice our original vision to let come what may in the RP for the sake of keeping everyone in the RP happy and involved. But if I have an idea for a story that I'd like to share with the community without their direct participation so I can see it through to the end without damaging or sacrificing the role-play, I'd like a way to share it in the form I intended while the RP continues on its own elsewhere. Reviews on a separately opened page would be good for feedback and comments, and the community can read and enjoy while I satisfy those writing urges so we continue feeding off one another for mutual benefit.
Again, win-win.
Thanks for your time!
