Turning and re-entering the base, Val quickly and quietly entered, he really wasn't in the mood to deal with anyone or anything right now, so chances are, there was going to be a lot of things that needed to be delt with in one way or another. Sure enough, before the door was even closed, Val saw someone running towards him, clipboard in hand. Letting out a sigh and lowering his head Val knew he wasn't going to get out of this one.
"Sir, there's been a few new proposals that a bunch of them men believe to be a good idea. And well, we were wondering if you'd take a look at them and tell us what you think. Sir."
Val glanced down at his watch for no apparent reason, but tried to look as if he was in a hurry, then looked back up to man standing before him. Nodding slightly he took the clipboard, waved the man off and started walking down the long hall towards his office.
Originally it had been a storage room set just off the main drag of the bunker. Once the government took over and attempted to make a mobile suit factory here, the room had been converted to the head engineer’s office. Now, it belonged to Val. Many people thought he choose that office because it was near the heart of the bunker, but frankly, it was the furthest away from everywhere else. There were no windows and no ceiling light. A full sized standing lamp stood in the right corner of the room, by the entrance. The walls were covered in charts ranging from old MS factory Blue Prints to city layout plans for every city in the Sanc Kingdom. His desk wasn't fancy, expensive, or even that well put together. He was convinced that it was just going to crumble to dust one day. On the desk sat a computer, a small lamp, and seemingly endless piles of paper work, none that actually needed to be done though, most of that had been there three years ago when The Caligo Umbra officially disbanded.
Val sat down in the chair behind his desk and looked at the clipboard. He wasn't surprised to see the number one idea on the list was to get every member his or her own Mobile Suit. He let out a sigh and took a red pen and crossed that idea out. Not only did they not have the funding they used to, Val knew for a fact that sixty percent of the people here had never even seen a Mobile Suit, and of the remaining forty percent, thirty or so had never been in one. As for the rest, he doubted they'd have the skills necessary to battle, so there really wasn't any point.
The rest of the proposals were pretty much just as useless. Increased funding, 'That'd be nice, but were not funded by anyone anymore.' he thought. Expansion of base territory into other bunkers on the island, 'We don't have enough people for that, so again pointless'. One by one he went down the list and crossed out every idea until he came to the last one and almost crosses it off without even looking at it. It was an idea to expand the computer network to connect to the main server of the network of the MS Factory. They had recently they discovered the MS network was still up and running.
"If we can connect to that, our computer network would triple in power, at least. And, well, maybe we could get some of the old machines up and running again. They tried building a mass production factory, maybe it could be possible to assemble one at a time."
He smiled at the thought than shook his head.
"Better not start day dreaming, it'll only lead to disappointment."
With that he turned to his computer and started looking through files he had on the MS factory network.
