Weekly Sunday Prompts

Tips: 1.25 INK Postby mombie on Thu May 07, 2020 7:12 pm

I will share a photo, word, maybe even a YouTube video of some sort. From that, you will write something from any one of your characters (or multiple characters). This can take the form of an In-Character diary, a mini-story, short blurb, or whatever you so choose.

Again, it's not Sunday, but I will lay down something anyway then throw something new in next Sunday.

Write from the perspective of your character's (or characters') greatest enemy.

Promt: Write something from the perspective of an enemy of one of your characters.

My character, Cordelia Hallis, from Neon Streets, has an enemy. This enemy is unknown to her, and it is her husband. He is an NPC, and I write him into my roleplay as I write for Cordelia. So, here is something that would be from the POV of Cordelia's husband.

It was true; Cordelia was beautiful to him once. The woman had all of the ideals and virtues of a slowly unwinding resistance in the impoverished bowels of the city before he found her, and her eagerness to climb the social ladder was the perfect way to get her hooked. He knew, of course, that she thought she would unravel the Corporations from the inside with her fanatical and... dare he say... sickeningly progressive ideas. Cordelia wanted to kill the Corporate hold over the government by pretending to be a part of the Elite inner circle, but that would have never happened. The Corporative grip on the government was and is still iron-clad, and they had eyes in even the most lowliest parts of the city.

Now here she is, all his - nothing more than a machine herself. In a world where it was beginning to get hard to tell the android from a true living being, the woman she is now blurs the line between what is machine and what is human. The nanotechnology that pumps through her body slowly and quietly spreads. Just when it might begin to falter - there is another "cosmetic surgery" to help reinforce the tech that made her mind pliable to the Corporation's needs. She is, after all, a celebrity. Young girls admire her, people love her, and the Corporation know that this weapon against the revolution is working.

He often found himself wondering, however, if she was a woman anymore. On television, he smiles and she smiles back. They kiss. They hug. They talk about their wonderful life and how he raised her from rags to riches, but when the broadcasts turn off she disgusts him. Cordelia is everything he ever wanted in a woman - like 1930's housewife perfect. The more she pleased, though, the more he distanced himself.

How nearly Pygmalion of him, to turn something that was but dirt to a brilliant shining stone only to find that... this perfection was not so perfect.

[5/17/2020] Write one of your characters landing in one of the many Universes, either within the Multiverse or an Indi-Universe, for the first time. What would their experience be?

[5/24/2020] Your character died and today is their funeral. Describe it. Who would be in attendance? Cremation or burial? Who would weep for you? There are so many paths to go down...

[6/6/2020] Your character had to go on a date with someone that was the complete opposite of them. Perhaps your character is an introvert and their date is an extrovert, or whatever. How would the date go?

Late update, but there is a lot going on where I live.

[7/5/2020]

An important decision needs to be made that your character(s) have been avoiding for a long, long time. Journal or make a roleplay post about your character(s)' thought process, actions, reasons, etc.

My character Luciana Morrison, or also known as Red Witch, in the Indie-Universe Wicked. Villain reluctantly working with some heroes for survival, but slowly throughout the story she is/will be falling for a hero I KNOW CLICHE BUT I LOVE IT!
With this prompt, I'll be haivng her finally deciding to reveal her identity to the heroes, after spending time with her crush/date Kieran Valanetti and even somehow being convinced to go on double dates, but none of the heroes knowing she is the infamous Red Witch.

Lucy had been thinking about this moment for awhile now, flipping her decision back and forth for the the first moment she found out that the girl she'd been seeing regularly was actually Malfyre, and even that was a fluke that was brought on by Atticus' boytoy, Paladin, letting too much information slip. But she knew it would be best to get it out there now rather than later, deal with the consequences of her actions now.

The only person that actually knew about what was going on between Lucy and Kieran was Piper Young, or her villain alias, Aboleth. It came up one wine filled night after watching the season finale of the latest season of Bachelor and for some reason Luciana let it out about her secret affair "with the enemy." She had been blowing off Kieran after finding out that she was Malfyre and knew it wasn't fair what she was doing to her. Luciana brought up the idea of just breaking it off with her leaving town after they dealt with their common enemy, if they didn't get killed along the way. But Piper told her how that wouldn't be fair for Kieran, as well as voicing her own concern about losing Luciana, one of her only friends in the city and how she would miss her. They ended the conversation there and Piper told Lucy she would be there again to talk but didn't want to push the conversation onto her. But the decision hung in her head for weeks, and made her more anxious for every meeting with the heroes.

Red Witch had gotten to the warehouse earlier than the planned meeting, she was up all night the night before. She had texted Piper the night before, telling her she was going to reveal her identity at the meeting to give her a heads up. She thought about letting Atticus know, but didn't want to bother her roommate with anymore worry that she'd cause already, giving him the excuse that she had some errands to run before the meeting. Luciana paced around the central room, trying to figure out all that she would say to the group. When she finally heard another set of foot prints she just sat down in a chair and put on her normal appearance of not caring, luckily her mask hiding her facial expressions.

The meeting went as smoothly as usual, probably a little bit more now that Red Witch wasn't insulting Artemis, someone she would usaully take every possbily moment to remind them they weren't a true hero and always needing to be baby sit. As the meeting was starting to close out Gemini asked if anyone else had anything to say, since they usually 'ran' most of these meetings. Red Witch kicked her feet off the table, announcing she did, and walked to the front of the room.

Standing infront of the others, Luciana let a sigh from under her mask, trying to compose her thoughts together. She looked over at Piper and saw her just smile and nod at her. "Well. We've been working together for awhile, and I still hate some of you in this room. But there's something that needs to be said..." She started before turning her back to the group. Luciana pulled the mask off her face and dropped it to the floor, it landing with a thud, and running her hands through her hair to make sure it was out of her face. "I'm..." Red Witch began talking, before slowly turning and revealing her face to the heroes in the room. "My name is Luciana Morrison..."

There were a couple audibly gasps in the room, as well as confusion on faces, like Atticus not knowing what the hell she was doing. A few people asked questions or demanded answers, but it all fell to silence as her eyes rested on the masked face of Malfyre. Kieran. For once Luciana was scared, not of dying or being locked up, but of what her reaction would be.

Sorry for day late, but here it is. Enjoyed doing this @mombie!!!

Tips: 0.75 INK Postby mombie on Sat Aug 01, 2020 3:25 pm

[8/1/2020]

Write a scene in which one or more characters don’t speak and instead convey their thoughts and desires through their body language and action.
