What Short Film Are You Watching?

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby VindicatedPurpose on Wed Sep 21, 2016 5:45 pm

So, in keeping with the theme of the "What song are you listening to?" in the forum games, I introduce to you my "What Short Film Are You Watching?"

This idea spawned from an exchange between a friend and I. A close friend of mine moved to another state to pursue his education and career. We are both huge geeks, whether it be film, video games, graphic novels, books, dank memes, etc, etc. Every so often, we like to exchange a short film once a day (or once a week because life gets pretty busy).

I'd like to share this tradition, or culture, or exchange, or idea, or whatever it may be called, with you RPG. I know there are some people who enjoy a good story on this site. Some?

You're right. A lot of people who enjoy a good story in whatever form it comes.

Rules
1. Either post a link or use the video codes to embed the video.
2. Post anytime you like.
3. Preface any mature material with a forewarning. We have users of all ages on this site, so let's remain respectful.

Also, since there's no film subcategory in the Creative Realm, I decided to just put it here.

RPG - Oh shit, so this one is kind of cheeky of me. Enjoy.
Like a stranger on a grate, or a skylark, or a taper, flying ever upward and knowing of love's satiety. Our dreams beyond the Sun and into the expanse of Night doth sound a quiet hymn.

I am always watching this. It's a horror/terror/suspense/sci-fi epic/action/adventure.

I took it as more like a horror comedy haha.

Also, DWI's vid reminded me of this. It has to be around 40 minutes or less to be considered a short.

My favorites are the ones that manage to pack a lot of punch in so little an amount of time. That said...

1985

A subtle story about human connection, acceptance, and grace. I was a little lost until I read the bit underneath the video, then it began to make sense, and then it hit me.

Scavengers

This has got to be one of the most trippy (trippiest?) animated shorts I have ever seen. It's also very beautiful, and it has such a nice flow from a visual and narrative standpoint. The ending says it all.

Martin

The apocalypse does not begin in New York, or Tokyo, or Beijing, but in Cromer, a small seaside town in the UK.
