Within The Beast

The ground shuddered with each heavy footfall, they were after him, they were always after him. Although he never actually existed, he was just a story parents made up in order to scare disobedient children that if they wandered to far into the woods, the beast would rip their flesh from bone.

This is why he was running an idiotic hunter and a few others were helping him to try and capture the beast in order to capture him and claim the big reward. Sliding down a steep hil, the strap rocks and twigs cutting up his torso, he landed heavily his shoulder taking most of the blow. Growling deeply in pain his vision turned blurry for a few moments but his hearing picked up the rustling of leaves and voices and so the beast was unleashed. The sound of growling filled the night air as the men's voices came nearer.

" where did it go, the footprints stop here" said a man crouching down to get a better look. Another man joined him and spoke his voice wavering with concern. " it changed look its probably watching us right now" all the men looked at each other and the stench of fear was high. Leaping from the trees one man was killed instantly by the crushing weight of the wolf, he sank his teeth into the hunter who screamed out in blistering pain. The other man fumbled for his gun shooting random shots unable to compose himself enough to aim, one bullet tore through his shoulder and the wolf snapped his neck in half with a single push.

His human form appeared slowly the popping and crunching of bones as they reset themselves. Panting heavily he searched through the men's equipment taking important things such as bottled water, first aid kits and shoe laces to replaced his old ones.

He took off running again slightly slower this time due to the bullet in his arm, he would have time to take it out when he rested for the night and that wasnt going to be soon. Sniffing quickly he picked up a faint smell of food, he hadn't eaten for a while, sure human and animal flesh was good to live on but actuall cooked food what much more satisfying.

It was a house, a cabin of sorts but it looked a lot like the houses in the village, modern and clean looking. Approaching cautiously getting ready to run at any sound, the house was dark but that didnt mean it wasn't lived in. Opening the window slowly he crept in making his way quickly to the kitchen opening the refrigerator, blinded by the bright light but his eyes adjusted quickly. He grabbed a plateful of chicken as well as some ham and a loaf of bread for good measure. Ripping apart the chicken he ate hungrily, lightly snarling at the pleasure of eating actual food. Next he would try to find some clothes and perhaps somewhere to get clean he had been wearing the same clothes for years and washed then whenever he had the chance but it was limited when you were always in the run.

( and here's where you come in I suppose you can choose to have a house in a woods as a holiday home or one in the city which ever suits you.)
I love roleplaying, making new friends, 1x1 I love as well. I enjoy playing interesting character and I feel that communication is important as well. We can discuss ideas and get to know one an other.

The new house is hard to sleep in. Mary would have never suggested a house in the woods but the circumstances of Davids full moon activities called for it. He couldn't be in the city when he changes, the population too great for him to control the beasrt inside ofbhim. David has plenty of control over the wolf but that's not aleays enough. And now with their child in the picture...Mary Harvey frowns as she looks at her stomach. Shes barely more than a few weeks along but she already knoes that the infant inside will be facing the same hardships that David has faced. She runs a hand softly over her exposed stomach, curling her white nightgown around her tightly.

David is the first to sleep as usual, giving her a breif kiss goodnight before rollingnover and passingnout nearly immediatley. It has never been that easy for Mary. Not with so many thoughts drifting around her mind. While David has little to worry about she has plenty on her plate and it takes a near hour for sleep to overtake her.

----

Mary Harvey is used to awakening in the dead of night from horrible nightmares. Its just the plague that her kind usually has to deal with. This time however as she awakens its with a sound, barely heard but still impossibly there. She has no time to shake her husband awake before slipping from her warm bed and grabbing a titanium baseball bat that's kept always by the door in case of an emergancy. Mary is extremely grateful for it as she creeps through the hallway towards the front living room. She pauses at the sound of breathing, her extra sharp supernatural senses picking up a heartbeat other rhan the ones that belong her in the house. With a deep breath and no noise to alert her presence she enters the kitchen - where the source of the sound is.

Her breath hitches, doing a double tale before swinging. Her mind screams at her that he's just a kid, a dirty one with more bruises than a kid should have, and a face filled with the horrors of a life probably not worth living. Hes eating their food, chowing down like nobodies business. She moves and is suddenly in view of his arm - her gasp is audible this time. No doubt he's been alerted to her presence, so she drops the bat, hearing it make a loud clanging noise as it hits the ground. She winces as her senses are overpowered by the sound.

"Mary?" Davids voice reaches her from the living room. His tone questioning and loud, he must have woken to the noise as well. Mary looks to the kid, hands raised lightly, a look on her face that's anything but hostile. Hwr instincts as a mother are kicking in, she wants to go to the kid and fix his arm up. The scent of his blood is heavy in the air, clogging her nose up and she's wondering if David has smelled it yet. She knew something was off about this kid, something inside of him.

He is like they are. Or atleast like David - a werewolf. From then looks of it though the kid isn't fairing well. She wonders where his kin are. She feels Davids presence close by her, she glances up at him from the corner of her eye. Hes sniffing the air, nose wrinkled lightly. His eyes set on tgebkid in a menacing look. Mary frowns, places her hand on his shoulder. "He's just a kid, he's hurt." She tells him, knowing that his senses to defend his territoty has already kicked in. She looks back to the kid, smiling softly and kindly. She takes a step foreward, testing how skittish the boy may be.

"Hey sweetie," the words roll off her tongue easily, as if they are meant for him and in a way they are. "Its ok, we won't hurt you." She assures, though she isn't sure he needs it. David growls a little as she goes nearer. He may have the strength to fight of another Werewolf but Mary isn't. If the boy attacked her she could die as easily as any mortal. But, something about the boy has her senses lit up, and her need to protect those younger than herself. She steps close enough to put her hand on his good arm, letting forth feelings of calm to try and soothe him. "I know this must be strange, I have abilities, kind of like yours. I know your hurting, please let me help?" Mary has always been sensitive to the emotions of others.

That's how she got with David in the first place, despite her parents constant worry and warnings. Shes not a werewolf, wich made them volatile towards each other. Her abilities stemmed however from latent witch-like power that runs through the female line of her family. Ever since she gained them her senses have been a mess, and she's taken to mimicing the behaviour of David. Speaking of David, he's stepped foreward now as well, not as close as Mary but enough to be able to see the ragged form of the boy.

"Where are your parents?" He asks gruffly.

(I've chosen to go with house in the woods. The family itself is still small, Mary and David have been together for three years and have just managed to get pregnant. David is a full werewolf - as to be a help of course. Mary however is mostly human with latent witch-like abilities in her blood. She cannot cast spells or anything but has extra sharp senses and is overly sensitive to emotions. I hope this is okay?)

He tore through the chicken like it was his last meal, well it probably would be at least a full meal not just scraps. Most of the meat was gone just a few bits of meat left on the bones which was always great to chew on. He gnawed on a chicken leg for a few moment before the bone finally gave way and he chewed it thoroughly for a good few minutes.

He never turned around until a whining clattering noise shot through his ears, he growled feircly dropping the half eaten chicken leg on the counter ready to attack this woman. She stepped forward and he took a step back his fists clenching tightly ready for the fight.

"Hey Sweetie,It's okay we won't hurt you"

The woman spoke her tone soft but it made him wary, he wasn't going to fall for the sweetie goody two shoes act. He used it before back when he used to go into town in order to get food off people. But to be honest nothing beat the outdoors. He hissed again flexing his fingers, the tension in his hands caused the wound on his arm to bleed more frequently but it didn't bother him he couldn't show any weakness.

His eyes narrowed as a male came into his view but he still held his ground, the male smelt familiar too him he smelt the same as he did. Obviously without the stench of living in the forest for most of his life. As the male growled so did he but it was more of a defensive growl letting the male know that he was ready to attack if something went wrong.

"I know this must be strange, I have abilities, kind of like yours. I know your hurting, please let me help?"

The woman spoke again, this time touching his other arm. His eyes became dark and he looked at the woman with almost disgust. His eyes darted around trying to find an escape route, the only option he could see was the window but he didn't particularly want to get even more cuts on his body and he would probably be chased buy the wolf. He could probably outrun him being much younger but the older wolf had more experience.

"Where are your parents?"

The male asked his voice much deeper in comparison to the woman's, he looked down at the floor at that point he didn't think about his parents that much he didn't really know them that well. They were killed by hunters when he was around six or seven so he was forced to deal with the change on his own. He spent the rest of his life up until now surviving in the forest and building up his anger thanks to the beast within.

Shaking his head he spoke. " All gone now" he muttered the shield between himself and the beast falling down for a brief moment. He came to the conclusion that he was now trapped here in this home, unless he ran away and never returned to the area of the woods where they lived. They could track him down or even tell the village where he was and even more people would be after him, that was all he needed.

(That's absolutely fine I think it'll work well)

"All gone now."

David watched the boy closely, measuring him as best he could. David knew Mary would feel to much empathy for the boy to understand that he is a potential danger to her and their unborn child. He wills the boy doesn't try to attack, David would hate to have to end a life so young ton protect her. Mary however withdraws her hand at his look, seeming a bit shocked by the vehemency she feels rolling off of him now. Then the sadness, and lastly a tang of bitter anger in there. She tilts her head - a nervous habit picked up long ago.

"Your injured," she bites her lip. David levels Mary with a look that's almost a warning. She ignores it, because unlike him she actually has a shred of compassion in him. "Do you understand? You'll bleed it. I don't think you would want us to take you to a doctor. I mean, David can easily fix you up." Mary has almost forgotten her manners for a long moment. She doesn't want to overload the boy with information but puts forth two more peices anyway.

"My name is Mary," she says. "I'm David," says the gruff, homely man with more calm in his voice than before. Both of them are so different from each other, wich is probably why they are so close. Mary if given the chance could win awards for her looks; her long copper hair falling just below her shoulder blades and big brown eyes like melted choclate, and compassion. If not for the ugly scar that twists around the base of her neck. A true and ugly reminder that no matter the willingness to help someone there will always be those out there who wish to harm.

David is the opposite, homely, gruff, and daunting. Barely in his early thirties but already graying and raggid. His body is a landscape of twisting and turning scars and marks. Hes got blue eyes though, brightly shining even through the dark of his mocha skin. In their time they have been called unfit for each other, but neither knew how tonlive without the other.

"There's no time for debate." David tells them, whispering for Mary to get the first aid kit from the top shelf of the bathroom cabinet. Then he looks at the kid, challenge clear in his eyes. His doesn't break the eye contact as he takes hold of the boys upper arm. Its not in a threatening way as he leads, almost gently, the boy to the kitchen table to take a seat. Upon Mary's return she carries a large yellow box marked with a red X. David examines the boys wounds, new and old.

He must have a hell of a life. David doesn't know if he can properly patch all his wounds up. He's had his fair share of brawls that have led to harsh looking wounds, and sure he's been able to patch the wounds but he isn't sure the boys are within his area of expertise. "He'll probably have to see the Doctor." David whispers lowly to Mary.

"He won't do house calls this late though, and the town is so far off."

He paid no real attention to what to woman was saying about him being injured he was trying to stay awake, he had to stay awake he hardly noticed long lasting pain in his arm since he dealt with it a lot, gunshot wounds , stabbings, he had been trapped by a bear trap once that was the most pain he had been in for a while.

He had learnt long ago to ignore pain itself but to be aware of the injuries, pain was only temporary it could be fixed in time that's why he was always running to give pain no option but to go away. But a bullet wound was different.

They introduced themselves as Mary and David, this he supposed was the pointed where he told them his name. He went to speak but David had took his arm and led him to a chair, sitting down he looked at the floor. Hissing in pain as his wounds were examined. " Ali..I'm Ali" he spoke through his teeth relaxing slowly but still watching the pair for anything that they could slip up on.

He was feeling drained now, the bloodloss must have been getting to him he blinked a few times trying to stay awake. He was still hungry too, although he was always hungry especially after he had shifted into his wolf form.

He heard David mention a Doctor and the town. Ali literally fell off the chair he was sitting on and backed up quickly to the wall shaking his head. " no doctor, no town. " he pointed outside " Hunters". He gripped his arm tightly the blood oozing through his fingers, he leant against the counter and slowly slid down to the floor his breathing slowing down his grip still on his arm. His eyes darted at the both of them.
