My recommendation (and I watch all threads in which I have ever posted quite obsessively) is to look to revive the roleplay as a restart -- that is, primarily with people who may not have been involved originally. Fresh blood, fresh creative juices can often mean a healthy restarted roleplay. I would post an interest check pitching the idea and seeking dedicated folks to join before posting an official restart announcement. I'd try to get commitment from at least four other folks before starting it again.
