Mist of Estani (interest check on a multiuniverse roleplay)

Mist of Estani

In a land far away, before the azure sky and stormy oceans existed, there existed a land of creative spirits... A stupendous world quite like our own. It was a place of magic! Of wonder! Where life was born, and cherished. Laughter filled the wind, and peace lingered, living its loving embrace over the world.

The spirits, wishing to spread their happiness, sent their own to thousands of worlds, helping them thrive. It was the joy of the spirits to provide their happiness in anyway possible. More importantly, it was fun to see the child-like creations form.. they took on personalities of their own, making the worlds their. It was as if the artists brush was left in the hands of the creations.

This, however, did not last... for some spirits were jealous of others. They strived to make their fellows creations miserable, plaguing their lands with various cruelties, in a attempt to twist these once peaceful worlds...

In fear and spite of each other, they left their portraits, choosing instead to battle each other... destroying both creation and creator... The loss of life so great that the spirits locked themselves away from the worlds forever. Their hearts ached, and slowly, bitterness filled them. They again quarreled.

Welcome to "Mist of Estani". It is a multi-universe roleplay dealing with the war between these spirits. Estani is a world that is filled with a race that can create life through paintings. However, the two sides have a big difference on how it should be used. Should such a power be used to control? To rule? Or should it be used to guide? To help?

One side has been completely corrupted by war, going mad with power and blind hatred. They are annihilating the relatively pacifist spirits with a hunger to destroy. As such, the spirits are recruiting warriors from the multi-universe, hoping to learn about war in order to defend themselves.

Concepts

Estani: The people of this spirit world are very human and real. They are not powerful physically, nor truly have a spirit of war. That is why they are recruiting characters from the multi-universe. In order to wage war, and paint the creations necessary to assist them, they have to "become" war. Through learning violence, they wish to transcend it. While having no "Major" traits they can adopt the traits of memories of other people, becoming them. As such, Estani can take on the nature of someone from anouther world, (but not the exact nature). In this way, they learn. They cannot, however, learn without a teacher. If you have little memories of your world, or cannot show by example, then you have little use to them. Even if what you know is wrong, they can learn it, sometimes for the best, sometimes for the worse.

"Dark" Estani: Spirits tormented by the horrors of war. They have become mindless and frightening beasts. They are to be pitied, but more importantly, stopped. Their power is great, and possibly enough to strike down the multi-universe in their abilties. Like normal Estani, they can take on the attributes of other races from the multi-universe, learning things that they do and bringing them to life, but they often choose to bring out the worst, turning your fellow man into creatures that should be left to madness.

The Multi-Universe: Those who are summoned to "Estani" (world) will find a place quite beautiful and spiritual. It is a place of self-reflection based partially off Asian history. Your character will have a important role in helping the Estani to surive. You are a teacher, as well as warrior. This is a excellent roleplay to highlight the culture of your world and to perhaps re'live parts of your life over again.

The World: The world actually takes on small traits of the people who enter it. Thus, while a flower may only exist in your universe, you may see it near you now... Your influences will affect Estani as they learn your ways. They will slowly become part of your culture. You may see artisans, such as blacksmiths, crafting weapons of your race, or soldiers of your race and culture... They will not be "true" members of your race, but they still feel well part of you.

The Goal: The poor people of this world need your aid... They are asking you to participate only on that basis alone. Though if you do not make a stand here, perhaps the multi-universe is next. Will you allow this horrifying horde, who can become your every memory, to eventually spread and destroy everything you hold dear?

This is a war. and as such, there will be much violence, but I hope you will make time for peace.

Character Sheet: Submit it to me through mail and I shall review it and see if it is able. I would rather you be free as a bird, than shot down before your ideas have a chance to shine. As it is a multi-universe thread, there is alot of opportunity. HOWEVER, there is a major catch. You may not use anything from any "Universes" other than orginal sources. That means no "Naruto", "Harry Potter", "Ghost in the Shell" WHATEVER. You are a roleplayer, use that writing talent to create a world all yours, and be proud of it. You may play a normal Estani, however this role is complex as you would have little power of your own and your ability to handle violence perhaps ruined. You would have to learn about the harshness of anouthers life.
