Hatter frowned as Elizabeth told him that he could tell Alice the truth. He wasn't so sure that was a smart idea, most of his memories were screwed up by the madness that had once just been a act to protect himself. He remembered that he loved the true red queen, while he despised the false one, and he remembered Alice...sweet Alice, and how his riddles had been meant to amuse her. Now they just served as his way to keep what was left of his old self sane. He looked to Alice as she asked about Cheshire "I saw the cat about a month ago...at least I think it was a month. Things have been so hectic here, and all my old friends went into hiding long before Cheshire vanished." His frown deepened trying to think where the cat might be, but no where came to mind. There was one thing that could always be said of Cheshire, and that was that the cat knew how to hide well.

Elizabeth listened to the Hatter and nodded: "That cat is good at hiding. He can just disappear into thin air. Silly cat. But maybe that stupid queen already got him." She said. "But if you are asking yourself why I dont attack the castle, I was waiting for someone to come and unify Wonderland against the red queen. I cannot do the job alone. But I think Alice is the someone I was looking for." She then continued and smiled at Alice. Alice was a mere strategic tool, but Elizabeth saw it as a test for the heir and princess of Wonderland.

Alice admitted to herself that she felt relieved that at least the Cat was safe. It was true, he could vanish in a moment, so it made sense that he couldn't be caught unless he wished to be. Wherever he was hiding, she hoped it safer than where she was.
She wondered, when Hatter mentioned his friends, if he was referring it the March Hare and Door Mouse. Everyone gone and he left alone.
As if to remind him he no longer was, she touched his arm and gave him a smile.
But when Elizabeth mentioned her idea, Alice looked highly puzzled.
"Me?" she said, almost feeling like she should look around for another Alice. "But I can't unite Wonderland. I wouldn't even know where to begin."
She looked at the Willow man, then back to Hatter, and finally Elizabeth.
"I'll help where I can, be certain," she said. "But I'm not of Wonderland. Would not it's people follow one of their own over someone not?"
A rustle near by reminded Alice that they had not yet moved and were still exposed.
"Perhaps we should seek a better place to speak?" she added as a reminder.

"Better, better yes indeed!" the Hatter looked around, avoiding his home in his search for a safe place to talk. He wasn't sure if the was a safe place left in Wonderland to talk...the Red Queen had a firm hand on much of the land.
