Caledar's anxiety came back when it was finally her turn to enter. The guard mentioned her name and the steward seemed to look straight through her. It also didn't help that a moment later he cut his own guard who was now bleeding on the floor. She began to panic not knowing what to do. She quickly moved over to the man and started looking at the wound as if she had never seen one before. She took a deep breath and thought about what her mother told her when she was being trained.

"You must hesitate nor be frightened when your a healer. If you do then people will die." she had said.

A moment later Cal reached into the bag she had been carrying with her. It was full of medical supplies that thankfully she was glad she had brought. She looked at the man and quietly said, "its going to be ok." Then she began to work on his arm. The steward had cut a vital artiery. What was he thinking; what would he do if she couldn't have fixed this? Let the man die? Luckily she knew how to deal with this since she had dealt with someone from a bakery who did sort of the same thing. It took her a few minutes but she was able to reconnect the artiery and close up the wound and wrap it with bandages. "Its ok, you'll be fine. All you have to do is take it easy with that arm and let it heal. If you don't then the artiery will reopen itself." She was surprised at how easily she talked to the guard about it. Usually she was really shy with new people.

Putting away her things Cal stood up firmly as if to yell at the Steward but stopped as she looked at the man. A bit of fear took control of her and she couldn't tell the man off. Instead she just stood there akwardly and waited.

Barahir watched Cal carefully while she fixed the man. He took careful note of her words that were attempting to calm him down, which gave her bonus points. When she finished, her eyes held the fire- he saw it in Vladrieth before she yelled at her soldiers for doing something stupid. But she held her tongue, and that impressed him. Smiling, Barahir went to his desk and pulled out another blank sheet of parchment and began writing on it. While writing he spoke, "You did a very impressive job, Caledar." He folded up the parchment and gave it to one of the guards at his side. "I just want to take this moment to assure you that had you not been able to heal the guard, he would have been immediately attended to. Many of the people who have come to my office for tryouts have been but children hoping for adventure. I want to eliminate as many of those children from my time as possible. This is a serious mission, and the King does not need to be insulted by citizens who think his order is a game, you understand." It was not a question, but an explanation with a demand that she understood his method.
"That being said, we will contact you within the week about your tryout. You are dismissed." He waved a hand, and smiled at her. He hoped Eldarion picked her.

The report had just been delivered. Eldarion bowed respectfully while he took the papers from his loyal soldier and read them. The results were truly staggering, and he felt a small amount of hopelessness sink in his bones for his friends. There were only two. Vladrieth made three, though she had been appalled at his proposal. His proposal, after these numbers, just became an order.

King Eldarion made his way up to his throne and called a guard to summon his Master Archer. The guard bowed deeply, and exited the throne room.

--

Vladrieth had just saddled her white horse to travel and was mounting. Grimgaw waited wordlessly for her. They had finished posting up the ads around Minas Tirith and were now on their way to the three-hour ride to Anfalas. They packed only a little water and salted meats, since the two had consumed only a light breakfast that morning before traveling.

Just as the archer was comfortable on the saddle, she saw a guard waving an arm at her. Vladrieth grabbed the reigns of her horse and waited. Finally, the man caught up to her and spoke so quickly she hardly caught what he was saying. Frowning, Vladrith flipped her hair out of her face and turned to face the frantic guard. "What?"

"King Eldarion needs to see you. I think it's about the..." The guard looked around, seeing common citizens caring for other horses, he leaned in closer to whisper, "the quest."

She stared at him without expression, "Did you give him Barahir's report?"

"Yes, right before he sent me to find you, actually."

Vladrieth sighed and turned to Grimgaw, "Wait here, please. I will be back." She grumpily slid off her horse and handed him the reigns. Hastily, she headed back to the castle.

---

While Vladrieth was on her way, Eldarion sent more guards out to find the other two who passed Barahir's inspection. If his calculations were right, they'd all arrive here just in time. What was the most baffling thing to him: All of the adventurers were women. He considered sending Barahir, but then he figured with the health of the man's father, it would be wise to leave him here in case his skills were needed.

Aedrie had come to where she was told to report and ignored the odd looks. She sighed, just because she was small, she was helpless, so the world thought. She saw the horses and sighed, she was not going to ride with someone else like a child. She usually didn't even bother with ponies, not that she had any dislove for them, they were just a lot to take care of, and it was easier to be on her own. Her wild, red hair was braided neatly and she was ready for travel. She leaned against the wall and observed the others.

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

*sigh* Alright, guys, I'm sorry about this.
I've tried, some of you tried, but this isn't getting off the ground again. I'm going to have to let it close. I'm sure you all saw it coming though XD

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

AAAAAAAAAAAlright

So we need more people or more characters. Or both. Preferably male-characters for balance because right now our adventure team is composed of three women. So I'm going to as the GMs of my other RPs if I can advertise on the OOC boards (since the regular forum isn't making any difference) because I still thinks it's a good original plot, and I don't think two people leaving should kill it.

If you know anyone who you might think is interested please ask them to come and check it out.

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

Nah, it was just the slow responses when it came to two-people scenes.
I'm thinking I could turn Barahir into an NPC and just play him myself and skip the tryouts and just get the RP out and started already.

Because we have one of almost every class and that's fine, I'd just feel better having more. And I'm going to have to talk to a few people about their posting, because there is a lack of work effort, which was part of what caused this to happen.

But in the meantime, I'm sick today, and upset because I had to miss a dissection in Anatomy and Physiology.

Then I will do some recruiting and hopefully this plot won't die.

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

Yeah I kind of figured that this RP was already dying before it could even begin. So sad *tear*

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

Alright.
Then the RP is going to be down for a while. I have to figure out something to do; you had an important character.

I'll be in touch with you all.

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

I'm really sorry Scarlet I'm not going to be able to continue with this.

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

Please be sure that you put your posts in the right location. If you have doubts, look at the location of the person you're interacting with.

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

Alright, I hope this speeds up a little over the weekend (I understand that you all have lives) here are some things you guys (As in Barahir and whoever is trying out) to get this going a bit faster (as in, longer and more useful posts.):

-You're going to be tested on your abilities, so if you're good with weapons, make a grand entrance or something. Or expect a guard (NPC) to come in and start fighting with you. Please, one-post long fight. Or less. If you heal, expect to see someone bleeding on the floor that Barahir will expect you to heal (in various places, somewhere non-vital, somewhere semi-vital and somewhere vital).

-Barahir is going to ask you questions to be sure you can handle the road, so he'll ask if you've ever been out of Gondor (if yes, where?) what kind of terrain do you know the best? Have you ever actually seen battle/blood shed? etc... So while you come in, when you introduce yourself you can answer some of those questions in passing. example: "Hi, I'm Vladrieth. I was born in Rivendell and traveled here over the mountains with my father. I've been on special missions for the king to kill, so I have experience with this sort of mission."

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

Ok, I'm about to post Barahir at his house interviewing candidates...

What am I asking them? Are they going to have to give a demonstration of skill at arms? Seeing as two characters are waiting, shall I interview them both so that one isn't hangiing around while we go through the other interview?

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

Very good. I am so happy I found another person with OCD! Except mine has more to do with organization and grammar...

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

Righty ho. So I'll leave that last post where it is, and now when I reply to you I'll put it in Barahir's house yes?

Should have waited really, sorry. I'm really OCD whe it comes to people posting in the wrong place, lol.

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

Oh, sorry, should have clarified: the first post you made that says it takes place in Middle Earth is fine, I was planning on making your house and then posting, but it's fine. Just from now on for that back-track please put the correct 'where'.

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

Oh sorry, have I got a house? Lol. Will do ^-^

Edit: Erm... not sure I can now as you've already posted. My post would come after yours.

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

IF YOU ARE CONFUSED: Boggwoppit and I are filling in the gap that was their business meeting for the purpose of your information. Bog, please make sure you edit the "where" to your house, so readers can tell we're back-tracking.

The role play will continue as normal alongside our back-track.

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

I just thought of what I could do to change my story around a bit and involve my character more. Since shes a healer along with her mother she could have heard gossip about the wounded elf and stuffs. Yay writers block is gone! Now to fill out a reply and then get to work on this english paper that i've been stuck on for a few days as well.

Edit: I'm just going to redo my intro. So if anyone wants to read it be my guest so you won't be confused on where my character is and what shes up to.)

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

The only thing about it is that it's HARD to read. If I could just attach it from like, paint or something I would.. In the meantime, the search for one that is legible is still going on.

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

Well I've just got up so... good night XD

That's great about the map Scarlet. It's not really that big a deal to have one up in another tab. but I'm lazy ;P

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

UGGGHHHHH I just posted my intro and I hate it but I have nothing better to post at the moment. *smacks head repeatedly* stupid brain.
OH I kind of want to be a writer to but thats not the main thing im going for. Yay college....! Well hopefully my brain will start working again tomorrow. *sigh* good night. (wait why did I say that. Its not like im going to get a reply on that tonight...)

Re: [OOC] Battle for Rivendell

Bog: I've been thinking about putting the map that I've been using as reference up on the Intro page, but it will have to wait a while. I switch between my laptop (a gay Macbook) and my desktop, and all of my pics and stuff and charry info for the RPs are all on my desktop. I will definitely have one up before we start traveling. Thanks for the compliments on my style, I hope to be a writer someday, that's why I RP (good practice!)

Edynol: We aren't posting like we have already met, but rather like we're all in Gondor (Minas Tirith, but I am referring to it simply by the City of Gondor.) Because the Shire is all the way north of Rivendell, so, based on the plot it would take you a long time to get down here to meet us when we take off to save Rivendell.
Or, I can let you start in the Shire, and just have you travel your way down and meet us on our way over. But if you want to do that I will have to tell you some plot things your hobbit must encounter and warn us about.
I am sure you already have, but the intros that have already been posted are the perfect kind of setting/idea I want. Everyone's just kind of out doing every day things before King Eldarion gives his WANTED notice for Champions.

We the companions won't meet officially until we've been selected by the king. All of us (with the exception of Vladrieth and Bogwoppit's charry, only because of their positions of power, and 1. Vladrieth doesn't know she's going on this mission and 2. The two have also probably never spoken more than two words to each other outside of Gondor business.)
