Description:
Jacob does not see himself as attractive, based mainly on a poor self-image, but in truth he is rather good looking. He stands around 5' 11''(180cm) and weighs around 155 pounds(70.3kg) with a medium build. He is not particularly muscular, nor is he scrawny in any way. He never really worked out, too afraid someone would monitor him, but he ate as well as he could before going to the Asylum. Jacob's eyes are a dark brown, and if he isn't wearing light clothing and the sun is out they can even appear black from as close as a meter(a yard) away. Jacob's hair is also a dark brown, it is thick and self-maintaining, he never does anything above washing it and it stays smooth. His hair reaches down to just over inch(three centimeters) above his shoulders. He shaves sporadically, so he usually has a slight beard, but nothing permanent. His skin is relatively pale from avoiding the sun whenever possible(mainly out of fear, but also out of general dismay) and is pretty smooth from a general misuse other than turning pages and typing on a computer. His fingernails, cuticles, and the skin around his fingernails are a mess however, he bites at them constantly.
Personality:
To put into non-verbose words, Jacob has a tattered psyche. Even at a young age he was paranoid, rarely trusting people, keeping an eye on everyone in a room, even moving as quietly as he could throughout his own house. However, his healthy paranoia took a very unhealthy turn during his last year of High School, where full blown hallucinations began to occur and he began to make non-existent connections. In the beginning he trusted his hallucinations whole heartedly, and he still often does, as they appear in many pleasing forms, but now that he realizes they are not real, he tries to ignore them, but he has a hard time ignoring anything. He is rather intelligent and picks up on many subtle things that people do. However, he constantly misjudges the actions in accordance with other things he has been told or simply believes, causing him to assume someone is doing something for one reason, when it is clearly another.
Jacob has a very poor self-image, when he is not lost in thought about one paranoid delusion or another, he is considering how horrible his life is, and how he ruined it, and how he could end it. These thoughts plague his entire mind, but have never born fruit, that meaning he had never, and would never, commit suicide, unless it was for a really good reason. His usual justification of not going through with it is that he still has much good to do in the world to spread the world about the evils of the government, most of which are untrue.
Jacob has not had a non-imaginary friend since High School, before his Schizophrenia manifested. He now finds it nigh-impossible to call someone friend, assuming they have ulterior motives and are going to betray him to an invisible, unknown, imaginary, government body. He believes that there is no such thing as integrity, and that everyone will always hold their own needs higher than everyone else's, even when seemingly doing the opposite. He trusts only one person, a hallucination named May. He speaks to her often, and she always puts his own needs into perspective, often helping him cope with his paranoia, allowing him to not act impulsively in a situation where he believes that someone is trying to silence him, or something else bad in happening or going to happen.
His main habits are biting his fingernails, as well as the skin around the nails. He does this sporadically when he is not using his hands, and does not even think about it, it simply happens. When he is nervous or worried he places his hand over his mouth and when he is deep in thought he interlocks his fingers and rests his chin on his hands.
