Trinity Faith Morain

"Oh this is your hat? I'm terribly sorry 'bout that, dolly."

a character in “Chasing the Sunset”, as played by RiotTerritory

Description

Trinity Faith Morain
Image
Has a bunch of these on her left shoulder
Has this as a "tramp stamp"

Theme Song: The World At Large

Gender: Female
Nickname(s): Trin, Dolly
Date of Birth: May 17
Age: 20
Determination: She's just going along with her crew
Position: Lookout and a thief for the Copperheads

Appearance: She loves looking "pretty". She likes putting on makeup and doing her hair and not because she wants to look prettier, but because it just lets her bring out her artistic side. She is always wearing the necklace that her mother gave her which is an angel with its wings spread. She also has a very short, petite body.

Preferred Clothing: She usually wears and tight-fitting shirt and pants (or flowing skirt depending on what day it is) and knee-high boots. She is also usually caught wearing someone else's 'pirate' hat (she steals them from the crew often).

Preferred Weapons(s): She carries around a longish hunting knife, but besides that she just uses her body as a weapon.

Height: 5'1
Hair Color: Dark brown with colored feathers in it usually
Eye Color: Icy blue

Personality: Trinity is a stubborn girl and is usually not willing to back down. She is very confident and outgoing as most pirates have to be. She only really cares about the people close to her (like most of the crew). Besides that, it takes quite a lot for her to care about you. Even though she doesn't really like many other people outside the crew, she is also an excellent actress and can make almost anyone like her and believe that she likes them as well. It is quite amazing what she can get most men to do for her. Since she manipulates men into believing that they love her, she also has an extremely hard time believing that any man would ever love the real her. Her greatest wish is to someday find true love, but she had doubts that that will ever happen.

Likes: Gold, jewelry, makeup, romance, water, the crew, her life in general (she loves being a pirate).

Dislikes: Being cornered, people that move in on the ship's territory

Fears: Dying alone, being forced to join another crew

Skills: Cooking, "acrobatics", thievery

Personal History: Trinity was born a pirate. Both her mother and father where pirates and she loved her life on the ship with them. However, when Trinity was five, the ship was attacked by an enemy ship and was sunk with most of the crew on board including her parents. The surviving members swam away to the closest city with a sobbing Trinity in tow. There, Trinity spent the next five years with the motherly cook of the ship, Nessa, who had decided to stay on land and became a successful chef for a restaurant in the city. At the age of ten, Trinity decided that she could no longer take the city anymore. She packed only a few essential things and took her mother's angel necklace, left a caring note to Nessa, and headed for the docks. She spoke to the captain of a ship that her parents had been friends with. He reluctantly took Trinity in along with her German Shepard, Avalon. He soon saw Trinity's acrobatic skills and she became one of the ship's lookouts. And she remains in that position to this day.

Other: Her dog, Avalon, is a German Shepard and is well loved by everyone in the crew.

So begins...

Taylor Briggs

Taylor had just docked after one of his usual fishing expeditions. Today was a fine day at sea; clear sky, calm water, smooth winds... ideal weather for sailing. The only odd thing about today was the catch. His catch usually consisted of a somewhat heavy load of fish, but today, there were only a few fish out and about. As Taylor was tying his boat to the dock, he noticed that a new ship had arrived. He sighed, "More pirates... come to whisk more men away." Taylor sounded rather dreary and winded while stacking his claim. "Maybe I can save the life of some inexperienced youth." He looked to the sky for moment to see many a flock of seagulls hovering overhead. "Lovely birds." Taylor opened a small smile and decided that he could welcome the new pirates to the town. He began the brief trek over to the bar, recalling a similar instance where a young boy, no older than 18 was eager to become a pirate. He left with some savage treasure hunting tribe, something along the lines of the 'Gold Toothed Pirates.' "Hmph, children these days..."

As Taylor was finishing the short trek over to the bar, he caught a shift in the westerly winds. "I hope no pirates plan on setting sail today... they wont get anywhere for awhile." Taylor shrugged and entered the bar. He bore witness to the usual rowdy bunch of pirates, including the illustrious Trinity Faith Morain and one sole newcomer. Taylor looked down, realizing the great height difference as he began to hunch over. 'A girl... a captain... interesting.' He wasn't really surprised, more amused by the fact that this new girl might be the captain of the large, poorly docked vessel. He continued past the woman without as much as a hello, strictly focusing on reaching the bar for a cool drink to relax his mild frustration with his 'lack of' a good catch.

Isabel Copperhead

Isabel wasn't a very patient girl, and she was small so she had a habit of doing things so that everyone could notice her and hear her. But sometimes even she had to admit that she spoke too loudly and too straight forward.
"My name is Isabel Copperhead and I am starting a crew! Who wants to join me and chase after the sunset!" she spoke very loudly which stopped the whole bar in action.
She didn't have much act for delicate moments so to make up for it she made a wide smile that forced her to close her eyes and expose her surprisingly clean teeth for a pirate. Something about Izzy: it takes her a while to realize what is standing right in front of her. She finally noticed Trinity standing there and the man that walked by her.
"Hello! Oh and, a lot of people don't believe I'm made for the sea but the sea is my dream and solution!" Izzy made another innocent smile.

Trinity rolled her eyes at both Taylor Briggs and this new Isabel girl. As was the case for many of the men and women in this bar, Trinity had met Briggs before with her old crew, and hadn't thought much for him. "You seem like you're in a great mood today, Mr. Hothead," Trinity called sarcastically after the man and then turned back to the girl as she announced to the whole world who she was. With one swift move, Trinity took the young girl's arm, slipped around her, and pulled Isabel outside the bar. Without waiting for the girl to say anything, Trinity swiveled around to face her. "Look, darlin', I know you're new t' this, but ya might not wanna tell those people who ya are." Trinity smiled as Avalon scooted out of the bar, an empty beer bottle crashing after him. He stood next to Trinity and licked her hand, telling her it was time to leave. Trinity scratched his head and looked back up at the girl. "Oh, and if ya talk like that, ya ain't gonna get much of a crew." Trinity smiled but shook her head slowly a few times. This girl was not going to last two days in this kind of life style. Trinity would have helped Isabel out considering that her crew's captain had died and now was lead by a man she did not wish to work alongside. However, she strongly disliked the idea of having a captain younger than her. Trinity turned on her heels, looking over her shoulder at the young 'captain'. "Stay safe, doll."

"Mr. Hothead? Heh, I'm thinking you got the wrong guy, ma'am." Taylor knew all to well that Trinity was the frisky type; she'd parade around teasing men and egging them into losing their heads and money. She was the typical treasure hording pirate, at least that's how she acted. He could recall numerous voyages with the vixen pirate, knowing full well her sexual tactics. Either way, he shrugged her off, eyeing her as she dragged the young newcomer out of the bar. 'Searching for a crew, heh, good luck lil' missy.' He knew full well that he could help her greatly, but he wouldn't offer his services so easily, she would have to ask him first. It seemed today would prove an interesting day with another newcomer entering the bar. "My, my." Taylor was simply muttering to himself now, figuring the patrons were loud enough to cover his talk. He watched as the second newcomer sat at the bar and swiveled around, examining the patrons. "You wont find a crew here, sorry." He didn't particularly enjoy killing anyone's dreams or plans, but he was simply being honest. Most of the patrons here are long retired or are simply here resting from long voyages. There were obviously the few like himself that were open for hire, but they wouldn't just openly brand themselves as up for hire. "You're going to have to prove yourself to these men, they're some of the toughest pirates in terms of judgement. I can say that being a woman doesn't help much..." Again, Taylor didn't enjoy killing anyone's plans but he was simply being honest in this situation.

Isabel Copperhead

"Well thank you for the heads up!" Isabel just walked right back into the bar without thinking two and greeted everyone for the second time.
Bottles were flying and swords were unsheathed but Isabel was small and just slipped passed everyone to sit at the bar counter. Not many understood that she had slipped past without the slightest injury but she also wasn't very . . . witty, she had no clue that those pirates that just sprang forward wanted her head but she still acted casually. She asked for a juice or something but instead the bartender gave her a Vodka tonic. Bad idea, a single drop of alcohol in Izzy's system was dangerous.
"Thanks!" she grabbed the glass then turned to look at the men still fighting, "I really don't understand why declaring that I'm starting a crew is such a bad idea." Izzy noticed the man from before Trinity had pulled her out, "Oh hey! Mr. Hothead, you look unemployed and have the face of a man in need of some spike in his life, I can also tell you love the sea! Join my crew!"
She lifted her glass up and then chugged the whole glass of Vodka . . . Oops.

(OOC: Ok... the italics are thoughts... -_- just making that clear... I'll probably start bolding my character's speech...)

Taylor Briggs

Taylor bore witness to the small rumble that was overtaking the bar. 'Buffoons...' He then rested his head in his arms, which sat crossed on the counter top. He didn't pay much attention to the returning newcomer. He was in some sort of stooper, still feeling anguish with the whole, 'bad catch' for the day. He watched the girl, who shared the appearance of a fourteen year old, as she hopped onto a nearby stool while ordering some juice. As the young girl began talking, rather loudly, Taylor opened his ears. He listened to her meaningless comment and cringed when she finally noticed him, addressing him as 'Mr. Hothead', just as Trinity labeled him previously. "Just so you know, these men are retired pirates... or pirates on dry dock. They're all affiliated to another pirate crew, well at least most of us are..." Taylor lifted his head, turning it to the girl, with his eyes remaining closed and showing an expression of slight irritation. "Hello... Just so you know, my name isn't 'Hothead'... it's Taylor Briggs..." Taylor cringed again at the sound of that infamous name, Briggs. "I'm not sure why you're searchin' for a crew at such an age, but give me some proof of you being a strong captain and I'll consider joining' ya' crew." The words just rolled off of Taylor's tongue, but he was in fact searching for a crew to join. He just saw that this was going to be a waste of time.

(OOC: It's fine ^^)

Isabel Copperhead

"You have a very good point, Mr. Hot -" Izzy stopped herself and then smiled, "Taylor Briggs, it's a very nice name you've got. Alright, so you need to know if I'm worth it, if you can take orders from me and venture on the vast ocean with me, I'll prove it too you."
Izzy was not only drunk but also very glad that at least someone tried to take interest in her offer. She was wobbling as she walked around the bar and hiccuping as she saluted some 'retired' pirates. Then she saw the woman from before who had tried to warn her in vain, Izzy was a little drunk to actually recognize her but she (sort of) over heard what they were arguing about. A burnt down ship, lookout . . . anyway, Izzy had the perfect opportunity.
"Step aside, Trinity . . . that is your name isn't it?" Izzy goofily put herself between the two of them and approaching her head toward Trinity, "You're very pretty, and this bad man hit you, shame on him!" Isabel was so disoriented and out there in another lalaland, "What did they put in the juice!"
Izzy wasn't very attentive and wasn't making the best impression but she unsheathed her sword from her back and pointed it at the Sterling guy, "Alrighto! Taylor, I will prove to you that I am worthy of being a captain, if I win you join my crew!"

Taylor continued to sit as the newcomer continually rambled, "Thanks, the name comes from my father..." He eyed the newcomer as she stood in place zoning in and out, "Fine, show meh your worth as a capt'in." He waved the young girl off, noticing Trinity returning and walking over to an oddly familiar man. 'Sterling!' He recognized the man almost immediately, it was his father's old friend, and an overall scalawag. Although, he had to thank Sterling for training him abit. Taylor didn't even notice that the newcomer girl was walking towards Trinity and Sterling. "Idiot..." Taylor quickly grasped his trusty flintlock pistol, ready to shoot Sterling in a moments notice. He eyed the gathering of Trinity, Sterling and the newcomer. 'Sterling, you better watch yourself...' Taylor was able and ready to shoot the man, but saw as Trinity had practically saved the young girl by shooing him off. "Tch, women..." Taylor laughed quietly and returned to his rum with the incessant chatter and partying of Sterling's old crew. "Hmph, Trinity ain't so bad as I thought." He smirked, finishing his glass and standing up. 'Might as well get something productive done today...'

"So, ladies." Taylor had approached both the wannabe Captain and Trinity. "Let's have a chat." He walked towards the door, motioning for them to follow.

Isabel Copperhead

She was barely following, so in other words this was what was happening in Izzy's head at the time; bad man, Sterling, being mean to Trinity who was now someone Izzy wanted to protect, Sterling was also a way to get Taylor's appreciation. Yes people, Izzy was a very simple working mind but it's also a very dangerous working mind because she only knows what happening and doesn't think about the consequences.

"You'll pay you stupid wench."

What Sterling said seemed to have reached Izzy's mind a bit too late because Trinity had already turned to Izzy telling her that it was best not to drink and to not fight that man, but Isabel was being stubborn. She gently pushed Trinity aside and took two steps toward Sterling who was quietly walking away. There was no more alcohol in Izzy's head and she was dead serious now.
"Hey rat face, half-assed, drunkard shit of a pirate," that got Sterling's attention on Isabel, "I think you owe an apology to Trinity and the whole crew because obviously no one really likes you meaning you haven't been real nice."
Sterling grunted and turned away as if Izzy was nothing at all and doing that boiled anger in Isabel who flung her sword that grazed Sterling's arm and hit the was on the other side. Now everyone had their attention turned.
"You owe an apology," Isabel threatened with her eyes but apparently it was too scary for Sterling to bear, he ran off like a woos baby.
Izzy went to retreave her sword and then returned to Taylor who was inviting her and Trinity through a door, "Sorry I couldn't prove myself better then that." Isabel smiled at Taylor and then followed him as if nothing had happened.

Taylor Briggs

As he stepped outside, a cool breeze swept by casting on him the enchanting scent of adventure. He gazed out onto the vast ocean spread, recollecting the same horizon from his first voyage with his dad. He could recall all the details; the salty mist, the blistering sunlight raining on the ship, the complaints of the deckhands, even his father's old laugh. Taylor was brought back when Trinity and Isabel had tried to attract his attention. "Hm, oh yes... It's fine, and Trinity... Hey! Give that back!" Taylor found himself amidst two women; not just normal women, but the annoying types. He sighed, after snatching his pistol back from Trinity and returning it to his side. "Alright." He began walking towards the docks, gesturing that the women should walk beside him. "So, this is the situation... Trinity, you conniving vixen and Isabel, that's your name right,(?) and myself need something that someone else can provide, no?" He gave each women a glance to reassure himself that one, they were listening and two, they were actually following him. He was pretty sure the women wouldn't wonder off, but with that Trinity he wasn't so assured enough. Taylor figured they would get bored soon, so he decided to make this conversation brief. "Isabel you're looking for a crew. Trinity you're probably going to search for another captain to latch onto. And well, for myself, I'm looking for someone to hire me. So, I assuming you can see what we should do here?" He gave each woman another glance to ensure that they were still paying attention and still walking beside him. Luckily, neither had strayed off but he could never be to sure that they actually payed any attention to him.

Isabel Copperhead

She just stood there trying to process everything that Taylor had just said and Trinity had added. If her brain was working right: Taylor was proposing to be a part of the crew and Trinity was also wishing to join in. The time it took for Izzy to get it all together Taylor and Trinity stared at her waiting to see if she was even still alive but then she jumped and bounced around like a hyper puppy and surprised them.
"This is going to be so fun! You have to come see the ship! My dad built it and now we're going to be all together on it sailing the seas!" she grabbed Avalon's paws and danced with him then started to run around, "We'll find more people and more crew members and we'll chase the sunset to find the land of youth!"
She drew her sword and first pointed it at Trinity and Taylor then giggled and twirled on her heels to have the tip of her blade shimmer by the light of the setting sun.

Taylor Briggs

Taylor was't all to surprised at Isabel's elated response. She started hopping around and dancing, even spinning around with that pesky mut, Avalon. He got a quick laugh out of the little mut's sullied nature and Trinity's sharp response. Taylor let out a brief sigh, "Trinity, you, of all people know my name." His expression went from carefree to annoyed. "It's Taylor, not Briggsy." He was getting fed up with the whole Briggs name, but Trinity was his crew mate... again. He'd just have to deal with her for awhile, which wasn't going to be too difficult, he hoped. As Taylor watched his new crew fumble around, he thought that it wasn't such a bad idea to join this crew. After all, he was all but opposed to forming a crew, it'd be nice to add another story to his novel of life.

"I'll head back to the bar, we're going to need a bigger crew than us three." Taylor left the duo with a light smirk. He knew his reputation as Briggs' son would persuade numerous no-name pirates to join their ranks. 'Dad, it seems I'm about to break anew, sorry.' Taylor's attitude reached an all time high from his thought; now, he could finally begin his own adventure, his own legend, his own title. Taylor knew that now was the time to break from his father's lousy name and create a new Briggs, one that was far more honorable and vastly known as a legend. Today was the day he'd create the new Briggs, Briggs the Brazen!

He entered the bar quietly, his sheer size was enough of a presence for most people. He easily towered over a majority of men and that was a great intimidation factor, but it also worked against him many-a-times. He sat at the bar next to a few men who were fumbling around, more of Sterling's men. A messy man with a cigar approached Taylor. -"Did I just hear right? Did Briggs the Broody just sign himself onto the crew of a sprat? A crew that's going to chase the setting sun to find the land of youth, no less? I knew you had low standards Briggs, but seriously? I mean, I expect it from Tricksy Trinity, but from you? I thought you made of smarter stuff. I guess with that compass in your head there wasn't any room left for a brain." In between comments the foolish loudmouth took a few hits from his cigar. "I mean, she's a kid! She obviously can't pay you guys and with an innocent smile like that, you ain't gonna see a scrap a plunder." The loudmouth took another hit and inched closer to Taylor, "Or are you planning something, eh Briggs? Maybe ye two are planning to mutiny this poor little sprat and taking off with her ship. That'd be mighty low, Briggs. You know what they say, like father like son."- Taylor knew that this nobody was simply there to anger him, which he didn't take kindly. He was rather annoyed that this kid, no doubt a cocky nobody, would stake claim on Taylor's reputation or even consider comparing him to his father. Taylor's spirit was lit aflame. He stood up, towering over the boy. "I'm sorry, but I have no idea who you are. And as far as I be concerned, you have no right to speak my name." Taylor was growing this urge, the same one he undertakes when his father approaches. "Before ya even consida yourself a pirate worthy of speaking my name, make sure you're bestowed a title." Taylor opened his eyes quiet angrily and swiftly drew his pistol, placing it just below the boys chin. "I suggest you shut your trap and leave my crew alone. If you dare speak another word, I'll erase your piece o'shit existence now. So leave my presence you lousy good-for-nothing filth rat." Taylor was awfully serious about killing this kid, he had it with everyone calling him Briggs. He wasn't Briggs in any way other than name, and that's how it would be.

Trinity Faith Morain

Trinity sighed as the man apologized and leaned over near Titus, standing on her toes so her face was closer to his. "Oh I remember you," Trinity whispered and then paused, letting Titus look her in the eyes. "The guy with two left feet," she said suddenly, pulling back and chuckled. She remembered being scared out of her mind that night as what she thought was a golden piece began to crawl up her arm. Trinity shook the thought from her head and looked back at Titus.

"I'd join your crew, but, Ive got too much common sense. She seems like a sweet girl, but I doubt she'll be able to make the hard decisions a Captain needs too. A Captain needs to look out for the crew, not the other way around."

Trinity huffed, thinking of her two or three previous captains, and rolled her eyes at the man. "You'd be surprised how much some cap'ns need lookin' after," she only whispered to herself. Trinity had started to rethink her life lately and had been thinking way too much of the little things like this. She just really felt like she needed some time to think about taking on another new ship. She had been under so many cruel captains and crew member. Trinity knew that Isabel obviously wasn't a harsh one, and neither was Taylor, but that didn't mean that the other crew mates - if they ever got any - wouldn't be.

As Titus left to sit at a table in the corner, Trinity turned to Taylor with a sigh. For one of the first times in a while, Trinity was completely serious. "Hey, Bri-Taylor," she said, her voice almost sounding tired and defeated rather than having that fierce edge that it had had moments ago. She then continued, "I'm jus' gonna head out t' the docks to get some air. Can't take this stuffed-up bar much more. I'll see Isabel and ya around later though, kay?" Without waiting for a response, Trinity turned on her heels and gracefully weaved her way through the crowds of drunkards and out of the bar.

Isabel Copperhead

She had been dancing carelessly but stopped when she noticed that Taylor and Trinity had gone back into the bar, she followed them in but stopped when she saw they were talking to someone. At first she thought he was an old friend of some sort but when Taylor took out his gun she reached for her saber to jump at the guy. Don't mess with my crew, was what passed through her mind but then she noticed how the guy was just playing a bad joke and she sheathed her sword. She was going to join them but when she got too close she heard what they were talking about:

"She seems like a sweet girl, but I doubt she'll be able to make the hard decisions a Captain needs too. A Captain needs to look out for the crew, not the other way around. Just my professional opinion, which no one ever seems to care about. Have fun chasing after the Land of Make-Believe."

"You'd be surprised how much some cap'ns need lookin' after."

Isabel was used to being rejected or made fun of and she had a very good way of not being hurt by it . . . walking away . . . They were adults they had lived so much longer than her, they had actual goals in life . . . she was only fifteen, so yes, her reason to sail after the sunset was absurd but that was also why she didn't want to even try explaining. She went back to the docks and went onto her ship, the dear ship her father had spent so much time building, the figurehead was a beautiful woman wearing a small tiara and a tunic . . . her mother actually. She sat on the back of the figurehead and gazed out at the horizon. She knew that people would never take her seriously . . . then again no one ever did, but she would still sail the seas and accomplish the rumor she started.
