She had come to the academy 2 years ago, and as she watched the bus load of new students arrive, she looked through them as they filed off. They all looked good enough in the uniform, blue jackets, white button up shirts, blue pants for the boys, blue and white plaid skirts for the girls, and black shoes. The girls had to wear nylons, and the boys, black dress socks.

Anyway, Bell watched the other students. She wasn't seeing anyone in particular that jumped out of her as a potential roommate, which she needed to keep her tuition costs down. Her brother had a roommate, as did her little sister, and she needed one. She picked out a few girls that looked promising, but none of them were really...right. She sighed, running her hand through her hair. She looked down at her Trig home work, shutting the book a bit louder than necessary.

The headmistress came out and circled the newbies around her. "Welcome to Cromwell Academy, children! May you find everything you need!" She looked around the new faces. "Please, feel free to ask some of our older students," She pointed to Bell's group, "Where to find anything you need! I hope you will be happy here, as I have been for many years! And if you ever need anything, my office is in the west wing of the main building," She pointed it out, smiling broadly. "And once again, welcome to Cromwell Academy! May you find everything you need!"

Bell and her group of "older students" applauded, standing and going out into the group of newbies. She circled the edge of the group, keeping stragglers in the group until they got all of their luggage and schedules and room assignments.

Elise Grisham

Elise was already inside her room two hours before everyone else arrived. She had no idea how she did it though, all she knew was that she was in the room and was absolutely bored out of her mind. She paced the room back and forth, glancing at the huge pile of luggage her personal guards hauled in, and groaned. She couldn't believe it! How could her parents have the nerve to send her away from home and dump her in a place like this?! Cromwell was fine, but to be sent away from her academy in Italy where she already built up a reputation she could be proud of was absolutely disgusting. And it was all because perfect Aaron told father it was for her own good to try a different environment." She scoffed. He was just mad because mother liked her better.

The hours flew by like years, and finally, she heard the sound of a mass of footsteps and assumed that the rest of the school had arrived. Of course, she was torn between feeling relieved and annoyed. True, she hated being bored, but dealing with usual idiots also wasn't her favorite things to do.

The noise became louder, voices of people talking about their summers, the latest gossip, and all the general things no one really cared about, when finally, the door slowly opened.

Bell peeked into the room. "Oh," She says in surprise. "So they did assign me a roommate this year," She smiles her soft smile, looking friendly and likable. "I'm Bell," She holds out her hand to the other girl, and when she doesn't take it, folds her hands awkwardly in front of herself. "Well, looks like you have more things than I do, so you can have my half of the closet. All I'll need is the dresser," She nods to the small, short dresser. "I'll move my clothes out of the closet soon, promise," Bell smiles again. This girl makes her nervous, she's never had a roommate before. "Are you new?" She asks, trying to make conversation.

"Yes." Elise says plainly, showing no signs of saying anything else. Her cold eyes scan the girl slowly, taking in all the details and immediately deciding she was nothing of much interest. She sits down, her back stiff as if someone super glued a pole to her back, and continues to stare at the girl unblinkingly. How could she deal with this one for an entire school year?

She sighed rather loudly and with a heavy tone of disappoint, not caring about the feelings of her new roommate. "So, very, very boring." she thought loudly.

Bell sighed, looking at the bed she was on. "That's my bed. I've been here for a year already, and you aren't going to take my bed after a few hours," She pointed to a smaller but still nice looking bed on the other side of the room. "If you wanted a bigger bed, you should have brought yours from home," She jumps onto the bed, stepping on the girls skirt in the process, and sits against her pile of pillows. "Also, you're out of uniform. See, I can play the bitch too. But if we're going to be roommates I suggest you cut it out, because I can gaurentee that I'll be top bitch at the end," She dives back into her math homework, ignoring the girl on her bed.

"...top bitch at the end." Wait, what?

Carter had been walking past, on her way to her dorm, when she heard this. Grinning ever so slightly, she stopped at the cracked open door and peered in. Ah, so it was the little Miss Perfect Isabella. She couldn't be a bitch if she tried. Well, she technically wasn't one to everybody else. But she rubbed Carter the wrong way. Too nice. And who was this other girl? A name didn't come to mind. Must be new. Deciding she was going to stay here to see what was going on, she looked around. No teacher in sight. New people that walked down the hallways gave her strange looks, but returning students didn't give her a second glance. They were used to her.

When no response came, and she got bored, Carter eased the door open enough to get inside and clapped, slowly. A smile was on her face as she said, "Great job, ladies. That was a great way to start my year. Loved the show." She was wearing her uniform mostly right, her skirt wrinkled from when she hadn't bothered to iron it, her jacket not buttoned. Why bother if she was getting detention soon anyway?

Elise stared at her roommate with clear confusion. What the hell was she so angry about? It wasn't like she slapped her across the face or something. She closed her eyes and sighed in annoyance once more. And the language. Mother would have drowned her in boiling oil if she said those words. She looked back at the girl, glaring a little, and was about to snap back when the door opened, and yet another headache arrived.

This time, Elise barely paid attention to the new girl. She simply wasn't in the mood to hate her brother's decisions anymore, nor was she in the mood to waste her breath bickering with these two. She watched the girl tiredly, and when she finally finished her little speech, Elise moved on to the smaller bed, just wanting to ignore everything and think of the fastest way to get out of the place.
