You live in Mariwara city and are either a high school senior, a graduate or a young adult who is in need of a job. You see a job at a company called Cymaid Co. The description says: "Do you want to be part of a big project for a great breakthrough? Good pay and benefits at Cymaid. If you show interest in modern technology and its advancement, then you are at the right place. No knowledge of electronics needed." It sounds good for you. Maybe it is a job where you test new products. So you go to the company. Some people are already there. Soon you are greeted and the doors are locked. The spokesperson says you are the perfect matches for the project and the plans with proceed. As several robotic arms capture you, the spokesperson explains that you will be the testpersons for the next generation service cyborgs. You might end up as a cyborgmaid or cyborgbutler or a cyborg that transforms into maintenance equipment or have built in entertainment media. You will still have your freedom but by contract you have to work for the company for at least five years. But they pay well, offer luxury dorms and offer a chance to go to college for free.

Is this opportunity great or is it a neverending horror for you?

Company building and dorms: Apart from the office building, there is a building for making cyborg parts and a building for conducting surgery on those who want to work as service cyborgs. Then there is the dorm building with apartments for up to 6 people each. The apartments have kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms all with luxurious equipment.

Why cyborgs and an not androids?: Because of a new law prohibiting androids from doing jobs humans could do themselves or with modifications. It is to keep unemployment low.
