(based off of the book Everlost)

Today, a white toyota crashed into a black mercedes. There had been a scrap of sharp metal on the road, and all of the cars dodged it, but the black mercedes wasn't as lucky. The black mercedes had ran over the scrap of metal, popping the forward left wheel. The driver of the black mercedes then crashed into the white toyota. Two teenagers weren't that lucky on that day....

In the white toyota, there was a girl about 17 years old in the passenger seat. She had taken off her seat belt right before the crash to adjust her blouse. In the black mercedes, there was a boy 18 years old in the middle back seat. The car had only been meant for 4, so there was no seat belt for the boy. When the two cars crashed, the girl and boy didn't have time to have their life flash before their eyes, it all went too quickly. Both the boy and the girl had went hurtling through the front window and out of the car. Then there was a loud crunch, and then everything went black to the boy and girl.

The girl and boy were then flying through a tunnel, at the end of the tunnel was a bright white light. But while they were both flying towards the white light, they bumped into each other and were sent hurtling away from the white light. The two teenagers then all of a sudden hit the forest floor, and then it all went black again, but it would be black for a long time....

The two teenagers didn't survive the car accident... but their souls don't get where they're supposed to go either. Instead, they're caught halfway between life and death, in a sort of limbo known as Everlost: a shadow of the living world, filled with all the things and places that no longer exist. It's a magical yet dangerous place where bands of lost children run wild and anyone who stands in the same place too long sinks to the center of the Earth.

A mysterious boy, one who had been 17 years and lived in Everlost for a very long time, one day found the boy and girl curled up on the floor of his dead forest. His forest was dead, but it was beautiful and lush in Everlost. He had spent all his time in Everlost alone, always waiting for someone to come and play with him. The whole time he had been waiting, he lived in silence. Once he found the girl and boy, he knew that they were going to be stuck here in Everlost with him, so he waited for them to wake up, for a very long time.

9 months later, the boy and the girl woke up, and saw the boy. They still thought they were alive, but soon they figured out they weren't alive, but they weren't dead. They are now going to have to learn the ways of Everlost, how the only pain you feel is the memories of when you were alive disappearing from your grip on them. They never have to breath, unless they are talking. They can never die. They can only feel dead stuff, and they can't feel anything that's alive, which means anything alive can't see them (like humans). If they go to something still real and alive, they will pass through it, as if it wasn't there, but to be accurate, as if they weren't there. And if they stand on undead ground for too long, they will sink to the center of the earth.

The clothes that the boy and girl were wearing during the crash are now a part of them, since they died with them on. They can't take them off. (lol when I think about this, I always think "what if they were wearing headphones?" XD)

They will also have to face the monster of Everlost, and meet the queen of lost children. The mysterious boy adjusted to living in Everlost, so can't they adjust to it too? But that's now the question. The question is, will they want to?
