Introduction
It is the year 2213. The world is in chaos, war on every continent. Three new countries are trying to break away from the United States- California, the South, and Alaska. The States recently got out of a war with China- that's when Facility 51 began.
You see, America was losing. Badly. So they began taking prisoners of war and experimenting on them. Trying to enhance them. They didn't dare try it on their own citizens first. But before America could perfect it, China began having revolts and had to call a truce in the war. While America didn't lose, they didn't win either.
But at this point, the genetic experiments were so promising, the government had to keep trying. But with no more war there would be no more prisoners. It started with taking people out of jails- instead of death, some convicts were given the choice to help with experimentation and eventually freedom. Of course, none of them were told that it would most likely end in death either way.
But soon the prisoners weren't enough. The goverment moved on to hobos, and then to orphanages. Finally they began taking random people off the street. At last it became too much for most of the country and they began to riot and break away. But that doesn't matter to us- even if they succeed, we'll be trapped here for as long as we live. Those of us who survive the experiments, anyways.
This is Facility 51. Each prisoner has a cell by themselves- nothing more than a bed and a table and chair, along with a metal door and small metal window where they give us food. If we behave, sometimes they let us out for a little while, into the courtyard. Sometimes.
Always you can hear screams of agony echoing through the halls, except at night. They always stop at night, about 8:30 or 9:00. But always they start again the next day, often before the sun rises. You never know if they'll pick you to test that day. And you never know if you'll come back to your cell.
Of course, some see surviving as a curse as well. Those who do are... changed. Freaks, monsters, mutants... that's what the guards call us. I suppose that's what we are. Welcome to Facility 51. Welcome to pain. God save your soul.
Facility 51
The Facility is hidden in the mountains of Colorado, far from civilization. It consists of two buildings- the Facility and the Guardhouse. The Facility is where prisoners live and where experimentation takes place. The Facility has three testing rooms and many cells for prisoners. There are also some kitchens where the food is made, and a small dining room where well-behaved prisoners will sometimes be allowed to eat. There is a large yard outside with a small pond, a couple trees and benches, and a basketball court where the prisoners will sometimes be allowed if they are well-behaved. The entire yard is actually covered with a screen to prevent anyone from escaping through the top.
The Guardhouse is where the guards live when off-duty. They have a tennis court, basketball court, and pool. Inside the building is a large dining room and kitchen, and many rooms where the guards stay, two guards to a room.
Usually once a prisoner has developed mutations the scientists cease genetic experiments and move on to tests of their powers, though these are sometimes just as painful.

I sat in my cell, on my bed, simply staring at the ceiling with blank eyes. I could hear the screams echoing through the halls, but I had long since become numb to the sound. I could also hear the guards whispering to each other outside, and the movement of other prisoners in nearby cells. I closed my eyes and sighed, trying to block out all the noise my keen ears detected.

Also, no I cannot yet send private messages, unfortunately. I'm not entirely sure why and the FAQs didn't really answer anything when I looked up why I couldn't. In any case, I approved your character waa37. While it wasn't exactly what I had intended, your character intrigued me because this actually started out as an idea for a book I was going to write (and still might) and one of the characters was a young child named Cassie who was born in the facility with mental abilities, though she was more of just a supergenius than a telepathic.
