Introduction
"We are gladiators and we fight for glory, for glory will grant us loved ones, riches, fame, freedom, or any other desires we conjure. No matter how different we feel, we are all the same through the eyes of the crowd... glory hungry savages."
- Gadus Roras, Freed Gladiator and Seventh Champion.
Overview
It is 95 AD and the world as far as Rome is concerned is a place of blood and glory. With its might suppressing the rest of the world, the time of war is a thing in the past the Colosseum is of the now. Free admission to view criminals and scoundrels battle to the death all for the entertainment of Rome and its people was a treat to all. With an endless supplies of criminals, pows, slaves, and beasts to throw into the arena the games were assured to last for as long as Rome itself. The Colosseum became Rome itself for the roads, the warriors, not its leaders did not make Rome what it is today; no the Colosseum is the true backbone of Rome. And you should be honored to be part of the Colosseum, you gladiator.
As you might of guessed, this is a story about gladiators and the famous Colosseum of Rome. (Keep in mind I will be altering a few things here and there so do not rely on this story to stay historically correct.) You are a gladiator, for whatever reason, and through the gladiator system you seek glory in order to achieve your dreams whether it be freedom, loved ones, riches, women, fame, or any other vice or virtue. You character will have to work from the bottom to the top in order to achieve their goals and in doing so they must claw, scratch, and bite their way to the top. This being said you will be battling animals, NPCs, and other characters friend or foe. Yes, your character has a high chance of dying and yes you will be battling one another at some point in the story so get ready for that but that will not happen until you reach at least Tier II. This roleplay has multiple features: Roster system, glory system, combat system, and hall of fame. These features are extensive but I have a feeling you will like them so give them a chance.
The Colosseum
The Colosseum will be the location the story will be centered at. A small nearby villa designed for the gladiators are also part of the Colosseum even though not directly connected. The villa contain barracks, houses, and a training ground. There will be times when you travel to other locations but for now the Colosseum and the villa is the place the story will spend most of its time. Another thing to know is that the Colosseum follows a system where the gladiators train, work, rest, etc. during the week and participate in the games during the weekends. The games consist of the gladiators battling each other with intermission being beast fights and animal parades.
Floor B4: Isolation floor
Description: A floor with no lighting or proper heating. This floor contains a handful of holding cells and torture rooms. Aside from the obvious use, there is a secret section at the back completely isolated and locked off from the rest of the floor. Very little information on mystery room.
Floor B3: Beast Quarters
Description: The floor that the beasts of the coliseum is kept. The walls are lined with cages filled with beasts and very little lighting as well as space. Aside from the cages there is a ramp leading to the arena floor and a office where a few guards reside.
Floor B2: Gladiator Quarters
Description: Floor lined with living quarters for the gladiators, the bedrooms only having the bare minimum. The bedrooms being more luxurious the higher tier the gladiators are in. Each tier is sectioned off from the other with a checkpoint-like style the higher the tier the higher the security. Even though underground there are airways that let light in as well as air.
Tier I (Rank 51-100): Bare minimum bedrooms fitted with two gladiators for each bedroom. Bedrooms only have cots and windowless. Group showers, latrines, dining area, and water fountains. Light and air flows in through ceiling vents in large areas like the dining area, halls, etc. Can visit any previous tiers, must be invited to upper tiers.
Tier II (Rank 26-50): Bedrooms a bit more comforting with cushioned cots, seating arrangements, and actual privacy. Gladiators own their own bedrooms but still share showers, latrines, dining area, and water fountains. They also have slits for windows within their bedrooms that let light and air in Can visit any previous tiers, must be invited to upper tiers.
Tier III (11-25): Bedrooms actually have beds, seating arrangements, privacy, private showers, a window, and private latrines. They still share water fountains and dining area. Can visit any previous tiers, must be invited to upper tiers.
Tier IV (2-10): Bedrooms have luxurious beds, seating arrangements, privacy, private showers, private latrines, multiple windows, private water fountains, and a extra room for guests to stay overnight. They receive their meals at their bedroom. Can visit any previous tiers, must be invited to upper tiers.
Tier V (Champion): Living arrangements the same as Tier IV but rooms twice the size and have a section for them self. Champions get what they want along the line of reason.
Floor B1: Lobby
Gladiator lobby, prepping room, armory, and training area all in one. Even though underground the training area expanded to the arena when games were not in secession and there is a second training ground in a nearby villa. Only areas open for the gladiators to explore is the prepping room and lobby where they either geared up for battle or observed the arena through slits in the wall or simply socialize.
Floor 1: Arena
Entrances to the Colosseum with stairs leading up to the top floor and a section guarded from the public, this section leads to the arena and underground floors. This floor is filled with concession stands, public latrines, and public water fountains. This section boast the closest seats where senators are seated along with the emperor's seat box, these sections obviously guarded and sectioned off from the public.
Floor 2: Upper Floor
Seating for nobles of not the senator rank as well as people of high military rank (Officers and cavalry).
Floor 3: Lower Floor
Seating for the average Roman citizen split into two, lower half reserved for the wealthy and the upper half reserved for the poor.
Floor 4: Skyline
The top floor. Seating for the common poor, slaves, and women that was sent away by the men.
Glory
The glory system grant your characters a point for certain actions and events. Points are awarded for victories, kills, and influences. Victories is self-explanatory, each opponent grants a certain amount of glory points if victorious you will receive those points. Kills grant double the amount of glory points you would have received from a victory. Influences are actions your character does in order to please a group. Keep in mind influences changes a group's view on you and can be hazardous. Influences are broken up into three categories:
Emperor: x3.0 Glory
Upper Class: x2.5 Glory
Faction (People that are loyal to you): x2.0 Glory
Crowd: x1.5 Glory
Glory is essential for survival, luxury, and freedom. I say this because you can use you glory points to purchase IC or OOC features. If you have more to add just run it by me. These are the features and their cost:
Gladiator Freedom: Freedom from the Colosseum. (50,000 Glory Points)
Extra Character: Have a extra reserved character, 2 max. (10,000 Glory Points)
Extra Expertise: Have your character experience in another combat style, 2 max. (5,000 Glory Points)
Extra Skill: Have your character skilled in another form of fighting, 5 max. (2,500 Glory Points)
Reserved Armor: Have a reserved set of armor in order to minimize tampering, sharing, or rigged matches. (2,500 Glory Points)
Reserved Weaponry: Have a reserved set of weapons in order to minimize tampering, sharing, or rigged matches. (2,500 Glory Points)
Immortal: When confronted with death you will instead end up in a coma for a set amount of time and must be purchased prior, 3 max. (2,500; 5,000; 7,500 Glory Points)
Untouchable: Pardoned from a crime or committing bad influence on a group, 5 max. (1,000; 2,000; 3,000; 4,000; 5,000 Glory Points)
Straight to the Top: Challenge the champion no matter your rank, unlimited use. (2,500 Glory Points)
Combat
Combat is crucial in this roleplay so I will take it serious and so should you. This is a realistic story so I am going to need every post to have some realism. Character get injured and even killed so do not delay the inevitable. Each fighting style has a strengths/weaknesses so I will list them here:

Leather: S: High maneuverability; W: Low protection, heating
Brigandine: S: Average maneuverability, easily repaired; W: Low protection

Roster
The roster is very important because it has information on all gladiators and their ranking. This roster will be updated when all six characters have completed their match for each game. Spots within the roster will sometimes open up, by the end of the next game those spots will be replaced with another NPC.

Character Sheet
Due to characters possibly dying I am granting each accepted person two characters. This second character will be activate once your first character dies. Your second character can take any open rank between 11-100 but cannot take a rank above your first character; open ranks are a result of that gladiator dying or promoting. This is to keep you from having to start from the beginning again and give your second character some experience.

Most recent OOC posts in Glory
Re: Glory
EDIT: Oh, I forgot I'd have a Secutor helmet!
But yeah, I can accept the chain things and the second character deal. The armor thing is the only issue I'm stuck on.
Re: Glory
Flail-type weapons would go under the category Blunt Weapons, even though not entirely blunt it slightly fits the category. Chain blade would probably fit under long blade, if shorter than I assume it would go under short blades along with chain hook. Manica and galerus would go under the category plate armor, I do not know exactly what gaiters are but I did some short research and if those images are correct I would say it fits under the leather category. If you'd give me a image I would better decide which category it would fit under.
