Full Name
"My mom studied languages." Laighla Alice De'Lune [ Laighla or layla meaning "night" in Arabic, De'Lune meaning "of the moon" in french. Alice being her mother's name. ]

Nickname
"Yeah, I really don't care." Laighla doesn't mind nicknames. Common ones include Lu, or Lulu, or even Lil. Others go for her middle name, calling her Alice, or Ally, but a lot of people usually just call her Laighla, because it's only two syllables and not that hard to pronounce. She doesn't really care what you call her though, so long as it's not offensive. The only nickname she doesn't like and doesn't tolerate is Lily because that is what her mother used to call her. When it comes to pet names like Baby, babe, sweetheart, ect, she doesn't particularly like them, but she'll tolerate them, and tends to give them out to others quite a bit.

Age
"Baby, you say 'young' like it's a bad thing." 17 years-old

Gender
"Ow, fuck you, use your eyes." Female

Role
"I'm the second, but I don't care. I'd rather not lead. Too much work, very little play." Beta of the Bleddyn Werewolf Pack

Image| Eyes |
"Are you blind?" Laighla's got soft green-blue eyes. They're not overly vibrant, because they have a gray-ish tone to them, but there is a darker ring of green outlining and defining them. They may not be extremely emerald, but their pale muted color actually makes them rather pretty. Her mother used to call them seafoam green.

Hair
"Yes, it's long." Laighla's hair is extremely long, and an extremely dark shade of brown. It's so brown, that, in some lightings, it appears as black. When in the sunshine though, there's just enough chestnut color in it to make it brown. It swings down to her hips in long. soft locks, as she's never cut it in her life and never plans to. She loves her hair, and keeps it in a braid a lot of the time, but if it's not, she doesn't really do anything with it, just let's it lay naturally, which is fairly straight. Only if she has something really nice to do, will she curl it.

Skin Tone
"It's really a shame my mother didn't pass on her skin tone." Her mother was a deep, dark, Native American tan, but her father was a lighter, paler color. Unfortunately, she inherited her father's skin, for her complexion is rather light. She spends a lot of time in the sun though, and her skin tans easily so, in the summertime, she's typically tanned due to this. Because of spending so much time in the sunlight, Laighla also has a light speckling of freckles across her nose and cheeks.

Build
"I'm anything but weak." Looking at Laighla's size, you don't expect much. She's not very tall, and she's not very muscular. She's slim and small, almost delicate looking. She appears to be the type of girl who needs protection, not the one doing the protecting. Nothing, could be further from the truth though for, despite her size, she can pack quite a punch. In short, don't underestimate her. You'll regret it.

Distinct Markings
"Yes, I have a few bumps and scrapes."
Piercings
Lue isn't huge on body piercings like some are, but she does love ear Imagepiercings. As such, her right ear is pierced all the way up with three helix piercings as well. Her left ear has 1 piercing on the lobe, five in the cartilage, and one in the helix. In these, she keeps a variety of small stones, all different, and all having different meanings. In the single lobe piercing on her left ear, she has a small iridescent black feather hanging there.
Scars
When it comes to scars, Laighla has many. One of the hardest to hide is on her hand. It starts at the webbing between her thumb and pointer finger and wraps around her wrist, coming all the way down to her elbow. Unless she's wearing gloves, this one is always visible. She can hide most of it by wearing a long sleeve shirt, but she's not one of those girls who are ashamed of her scars, so she doesn't really try hiding it. She also has a long scar that runs from the tip of her shoulder to the spot where her collarbones meet. Her third most noticeable scar sits right on her face. It cuts her left eyebrow right at the arch. It's not huge, but it is noticeable. Other than these fairly obvious ones, Laighla had smaller scars on her back and stomach, but these are thin, white lines and are barely visible against her pale skin unless you're extremely close and she has her shirt off.
Tattoos
Laighla has five tattoos. Her first is on the inside of the scared wrist, and reads "Art should comfort the disturbed, and disturb the comfortable" in a simple font. The scar cuts through the word disturbed, right between the u and the r. Her second tattoo sits on the inside of her other wrist, a little farther up. This one is an image of a wolf hiding in the forest. Her third, sits on her right side, up on her ribcage. It's and image of a deer with blossoming antlers, and a spiderweb stretching between them. Her fourth tattoo sits under the scar along her collarbone and reads "This too, shall pass" in a whispy font. Finally, her fifth tattoo is a spinal tattoo. It runs from the very base of her neck all the way down to her tailbone. It's a long string of the moon's phases.

☽ Wolf Form ☾
Image

Coat
"Careful. You'll never see me coming." As a wolf, Laighla's coat is a deep black color. It's the purest of black, no hint of other colors to be found, dark as the night. This dark color allows her to blend with the nights and slip in and out of shadows with ease. She uses it to her advantage, and often lives in the darkness, for her stealth is one of her greatest assets, and her dark coat color only helps. It's shorter than that of most wolves, and, as such, instead of fluffy, it's slick, and shining, close to her body. Her tail is rather bushy though, and it is also the only part of her that is not pure black. Her tail's tip looks as though it's been dipped in paint, for the tip of her tail is snow white. Often, if you're looking for her in the dark, the only thing you can see of her is this white little tip swaying in the darkness.

Build
"Your biggest mistake would be to underestimate me." Laighla is probably the smallest wolf in her pack. Many look at her and think she's still a pup. Not an infant, but not fully grown for sure. She's extremely small, and her shorter, slicker coat does not help with this. She appears almost delicate, compared to the rest of her pack. However, assuming she's weak because of this could be a fatal mistake on your part. She may be small, but she is lethal. Because of her slim size and light weight, she's extremely quick, quicker than any of the other wolves in her pack. She's also got astonishing stamina, balance, and stealth. She's quick-footed, and dead silent. If she doesn't want you to hear her, you wont. If she doesn't want you to catch her, you wont. There's no arguing this. These attributes make her highly deadly. She doesn't look like much, but she moves with precision, grace, and balance, gliding rather than walking, stalking everywhere, constantly looking as though she's in stealth mode.

Scars
"I am my mother's daughter. I'm bound to have a few scars." Lil has various scars in her wolf form. First, since she got this scar while in her wolf from, the one that's on her hand as a human is on her front right paw as a wolf, starting at the pad of her paw and spiraling up, all the way to the middle of her leg. This scar she got by accidentally stepping in an old hunter's trap when she was young. It nearly took her leg off, and she had to pull it out of the teeth, an excruciating, slow process, but, due her her small size, she managed to get her leg free and limp off. Other than this, she has a scar on the left side of her muzzle, cutting from the bridge of her nose, downward. This, she got in a fight with her mother when she was young. Finally, Laighla has a nick in her left ear. Up near the tip, but not quite on it, there's a curve of her ear missing. She got this in another fight.

Fears
"Fear is just another word for motivation baby."
β˜ͺ Thunderstorms β†’ Ever since she was a child, Laighla has hated thunderstorms. When she was eight, her mother left her alone once on accident while they were out and it started to thunderstorm, and ever since, she's hated them. They frighten her half to death.
β˜ͺ Letting down her pack β†’ Her pack took her in when she had no one. She'd hate to let them down, and does her best not to for, even though she doesn't show it, she loves them very much. She's afraid of losing them or hurting them in some way. In the end, she doesn't want to be alone, and she doesn't want them to banish her like they had her mother, so many years ago.
β˜ͺ Being Alone β†’ As a member of a pack, Laighla is terrified of being utterly alone. She may seclude herself, but there are still others around her. Should she be totally alone, with no one to love, she wouldn't know what to do, for she loves her pack strongly. Being with her mother was fine, because it was the two of them, and she loved her, but being without anyone at all terrifies her.
β˜ͺ Love β†’ Cliche, yes, but she's afraid of love, because she's not sure she capable of loving, and being loved back, without destroying.

Strengths/Abilities
βœ” Stealth β†’ She's very good at sneaking about and staying in the shadows, as she's utterly silent, gliding rather than walking, and moving without leaving a trail.
βœ” Speed β†’ Due to her small size, she's extremely fast. Faster than most wolves.
βœ” Fighting β†’ Not only is she fast, Laighla utilizes this when fighting, able to move with speed, grace, and precision. She's quick on her feet, nimble, and, despite her size, can pack quite a punch.
βœ” Cooking β†’ She's an exceptionally good cook. Her mother taught her.
βœ” Art β†’ Laighla's passion is art. She adores painting with everything from watercolors to oils as well as drawing with anything from ink to charcoals, and she's actually quite skilled.

Weaknesses
β˜“ People Skills β†’ One of the reasons she can't be a leader, is because she's horrible with words and horrible with interaction with people. She's a person of action, so she's horrible with socializing. There is no way in hell Laighla could rile up a crowd for a fight, console someone who's heartbroken, or make a speech, she's just not good with people.
β˜“ Communication β†’ Laighla is mute. She cannot speak, and, as such, has a hard time communicating at times. She was born a mute, and, strangely, she was also born with the ability to communicate telepathically. Her mother thinks this is because of her werewolf genes. Because a werewolf is made to be stronger and better than a human, so to be born with a deficiency is rare, so her werewolf blood "made up for it" so to speak, by giving her this strange ability. However, she tried not to use it because, in her experience, people tend to get pissed and defensive when you can get in their heads.
β˜“ Strength β†’ As she's small, she is considerably weaker than the others, so, if she were to have to fight with someone much stronger than her, this could be a problem. If they can catch her, that is.

Image| Personality |
"If there's one thing you'll catch on to fast, it's that I'm not the one you want to be friend's with." Laighla can be a handful at times, at others, it's likes she's not even there, it all depends on how you interact with her. If you try to make her do things, and try to interact with her too much, she can be an issue, but if you leave her be, you'll never even notice her. She's an utter mystery, and she liked to stay this way. The fact that she cannot speak helps contribute to this because she rarely uses telepathy to speak. In fact, only her father, her alpha, the alpha's son and one or two others even know she has this ability.

Laighla likes to be left alone to do what she wants. She's the girl in the back of the room during pack meetings, looking like she has somewhere more important to be, despite the fact that she's completely loyal to her pack. She likes to let people think she doesn't care. That she's cold, heartless and, often times, cruel. She's not the type of girl to smile and say hi when you approach her. She's not the tragically shy, and always alone girl. She's the unapproachable girl sitting in the shadows and she likes it that way.

If she's unapproachable, it keeps people away from her. She doesn't want people getting close because, either she gets hurt, or she hurts them and, despite how she wants people to think she doesn't care, she actually does. Too much. She pushes people away to keep pain out of her life because, everytime she lets herself get close to someone, it tends to backfire on her, so she just avoids it all together.

Laighla is a free spirit to say the least. It's nearly impossible to get her to take any form of order. If she doesn't want to do something, she wont do it. Simple as that. You have to pick and choose your orders for her carefully, for, half the time, she'll refuse you. She doesn't like listening to people, and doesn't like people placing responsibilities on her shoulders that she doesn't fully agree with. There are only a few rare people that Laighla will listen to, and that would be the alpha's son, and, on occasion, her father, though his is rare, but they are above her and she respects them. The alpha's son is the only person she doesn't mind socializing with. She rarely even listens to her own father. If he wants her to do something, he usually has to ask the Alpha's son to tell her.

ImageLaighla, 8 tenths of the time is a huge asshole. She's not good with people. She's never really been around a lot of people, save for her mother and never really had a lot of friends. These past few years of her life are the first where she's had to live around people all the time and take orders from those above her, so she's still adjusting. She's rude to people all the time, pushing them away, not letting people get close to her and see who she is, making her a mystery. No one knows what's inside her head, and she likes to keep it that way. Half the pack doesn't even know where she truly comes from. She just showed up one day to them, and she refuses to share her story with them.

It's not that she doesn't love her pack, because she does. She just always feels like the outsider, for she is the only one of them who hasn't grown up together. She's new to a group of people who have been around each other their entire lives. She loves her pack deeply, and is more than a little grateful to them for taking her back. It's just that, she doesn't know how to show it. She feels like she's always standing at the edge of the circle, never on the inside, and she isn't sure how to express what she's feeling because she's never had to before. The only person she's ever connected with was her mother, and they'd moved around far too much for her to make any real friends. So she prefers to live up to her name as the odd one out and treats everything like there's something better she could be doing.

Laighla, despite what others see, inside, is deeply sensitive. She's loyal to her pack, and would die for them if necessary, despite the fact that she acts like she couldn't give two shits, her pack is her life for, without them, she'd be alone. She also cares deeply about things. She loves children, and has a sensitive heart. Just because she'll punch you in the face without blinking does not mean your cruel words didn't hurt her. She just prefers to feel in private, never showing anyone around her what she's really feeling.

Her greatest love, is art. She's obsessed with it, and it's all she ever really wants to be doing. She loves painting, and sketching, and everything in between. Her father, when she moved in, built her an art studio, and that's where she spends a lot of her time, away from the pack, keeping to herself. If she's not there, she's out in the forest somewhere, for she has a deep connection and love for nature.

Image| History |
"It's not exactly a happy story, I'm just going to warn you." Unlike most of the other wolves in the pack, Laighla was not raised with the others in the town they call home. Her mother raised her on her own, away from the pack. When her mother was young, she was a beta. She was married to her father, Matt, who was also the beta, but they were never really in love. They were merely married because their ranks said they had to be.

Her mother, Alice, loved a human, Jacob. She had a secret affair with him, that lasted for quite a while, but, when she became pregnant with Laighla, with Matt, it became evident the affair had to stop. She couldn't bear it though. Alice loved Jacob more than anything, and Jacob couldn't understand why she couldn't just leave Matt to be with him. She didn't like that she was breaking his heart by pretending she loved Matt and not him, so she broke the golden rule.

She told Jacob what she was and why she could never be with him. Why she had to be with Matt and not him.

ImageThe moment Matt found out, he had her banished. It was the only rule and, despite the fact that Jacob swore not to tell, he had to be killed. Because the humans couldn't know about them. The werewolves swore to protect them, but they swore to do so in secrecy. There were very little humans that the werewolves had ever killed, but Jacob was one of them. It devastated her mother and, banished, pregnant, with no where to go, she fled south, out of Wyoming, down to Arizona, where she had Laighla.

Laighla was raised in desert towns. They never really stayed in one place for more than a month or so, because her mother, afterall, was a werewolf. She was a pack animal without a pack and, as such, she was forever restless. She explained it to Laighla once, what it was like, living in a pack your whole life and then having it taken away from you and to her, it had sounded like going slowly, slowly, slowly, insane. Which her mother had told her was probably the most accurate thing she'd ever heard. And Laighla believed it. Because her mother wasn't the average mother.

Laighla loved her dearly. Her mother was her everything, and the person she went to with all her troubles, and her mother loved her back, that much was obvious in the way she cared for her tenderly, but it was also clear that there was something... off about her mother. She was, for one, forgetful. If Laighla didn't stay, constantly by her side, Alice would leave her behind and not even realize it until hours later. Once, when she was six, she was left alone at a park and it began to thunderstorm. Her mother didn't come back for her until the middle of the night. It wasn't that she was neglectful, she just couldn't remember very well for some reason. Her memory was always scattered, fragmented.

ImageIn fact, scattered is probably the best word you could ever use to describe Alice De'Lune. Not only were they always bouncing from desert town to desert town, and not only was her memory flighty, but she also had horrible mood swings. In which, one moment her and her mother would be laughing and making pancakes, the next, her mother would be shrieking up a storm, throwing plates that, if Laighla didn't get out of her way, would be aimed at her, claiming Laighla had ruined her life and killed Jacob. Laighla never took it personally, though she wasn't one to back down. She'd participate in her mother's screaming matches with her because, it seemed, the only way to get her to calm down was to push her so far she did something she regretted and spent the rest of the night sulking.

There were also times where Laighla couldn't seem to connect with her mother. For days, sometimes even weeks at a time, her mother would be so withdrawn into herself, Laighla was lucky to get a word out of her, and it was during these times that Laighla was left to raise herself. Her mother could never really hold a job, so there was never food in the house, and they were never in one place long enough to garden, so Laighla had become a skilled thief at a very young age and, without her mother there to guide her or, even when she was herself, pay much attention, Laigla developed various bad habits.

Both Laighla and Alice were artists though. They never had many belongings and her mother only allowed her to bring one non-art-related item with her everytime they moved, because, when they did, their collected drawings, painting, sketches, sketchbooks, and various mediums and supplies took up all the space in their car. The walls in their various houses were never big enough to hold all their artwork and Laighla believed there would never be a building big enough.

While there were rough days, there were also glorious ones. Laighla wasn't one to complain. She didn't mind living in small houses, not having much food or money. She was the farthest thing from materialistic, so her and her mother's lifestyle didn't bother her. She liked seeing the desert country, liked the dusty towns, liked sleeping under the stars and always being on the road. During the days her mother was normal, she was wonderful and her and Laighla spent a lot of time together. Her mother would teach her because she never went to school, showing her how to paint, read, write, draw, and cook.

ImageThen, when she was fifteen, tragedy like one she'd never imagined struck hard. Her mother got dangerously ill. They weren't the type of people to go to the hospital, because, quite frankly, the couldn't afford it, and, the types of towns they stayed in, the hospital was usually way too far away anyway. Her mother used to always joke that it was better to save your gas for travelling than going to a silly hospital. This time though, despite the fact that she was only 15, she drove her mother to the hospital.

And learned that she had, not one, but several forms of cancer and would die within the week. Her mother told her that she'd been hiding it from her for a long time, and these illnesses were probably because she didn't have a pack. She swore it. She swore her blood was too good for human illnesses to get her, so not having a pack must have weakened it. But Laighla wasn't sure if this was more of her "crazy" talk, or if this was the truth.

Any rate, this fear was what caused her mother to sneak out of the hospital and drive her miles north to Wyoming where, her dying move was to beg her pack to take Laighla in and protect her as one of their own. So her father did. She became the Beta's daughter again.

Right Before My Eyes
[ Acoustic ]
Cage The Elephant

Timber shakes these trails; they all derail
Phony, false, and frail
An empty ocean lost our way with no direction home
Golden needles, names we take in vain
Find it harder to remain
And nothing's sacred still waiting on that explanation

[Chorus:]
Right before my eyes
I saw the whole world lose control
The whole world lost control
Before my eyes uh-huh
I fell through the floor
I couldn't take this anymore
I can't take this anymore
It breaks my mind uh-huh

Holding dirty hands over the flames
Getting pleasure from the pain
Softly screaming the pistol that you raised has spoken
Golden needles names we take in vain
Find it harder to remain
Well nothing's sacred still waiting on that explanation

[Chorus]
Right before my eyes
I saw the whole world lose control
The whole world lost control
Before my eyes uh-huh
I fell through the floor
I couldn't take this anymore
I can't take this anymore
It breaks my mind uh-huh

Everything I thought I knew fell to the side
Time went on and on I couldn't see past my own eyes
Past my eyes
Past my eyes
Past my eyes
Glory & Gore
Lorde
There's a humming in the restless summer air
And we're slipping off the course that we prepared
But in all chaos, there is calculation
Dropping glasses just to hear them break
You've been drinking like the world was gonna end (it didn't)
Took a shiner from the fist of your best friend (go figure)
It's clear that someone's gotta go
We mean it but I promise we're not mean

[Chorus:]
And the cry goes out
They lose their minds for us
And how it plays out
Now we're in the ring
And we're coming for blood
You could try and take us (oh-oh)
But we're the gladiators (Oh! Oh!)
Everyone a rager (oh-oh)
But secretly they're saviors
Glory and gore go hand in hand
That's why we're making headlines (Oh! Oh!)
You could try and take us (oh-oh)
But victory's contagious

Delicate in every way but one (the swordplay)
God knows we like archaic kinds of fun (the old way)
Chance is the only game I play with, baby
We let our battles choose us
[Chorus]
No-one round here's good at keeping their eyes closed
The sun's starting to light up when we're walking home
Tired little laughs, gold-lie promises, we'll always win at this
I don't ever think about death
It's alright if you do, it's fine
We gladiate but I guess we're really fighting ourselves
Roughing up our minds so we're ready when the kill time comes
Wide awake in bed, words in my brain,
"Secretly you love this do you even wanna go free?"
Let me in the ring, I'll show you what that big word means
[Chorus]

Laighla De'Lune's Story
