Introduction

Hello, and Welcome to Channel 1263, also known as Dead Zone! The channel to watch for the most interesting, exciting, and by no means legal action! Well actually, we're the only channel still functioning... but who's paying attention to that?

Now, leaving out anyone who’s been hiding under a rock for the past millennium, know about Janice, bless her heart. She's our Overlord ... er... Overlady. She calls the shots now... and we all have to do what she says, or our planets face extinction. Not much of a choice there. Her power is god-like: she snaps, and she can make an ice cream sundae bigger than the moon appear. I should know. That's what happened to MY planet...

Moving on, Janice is bored, like any omnipotent person who can zap people in mere seconds would be. So, in order to sate this non allowed boredom, she's decided to make the planets her little playground, and have all of them rest on the brink of destruction. And thus, The Janice Games begin!

Each planet gets a single representative to fight for them in these games. Now, since we don't like the planets arguing among themselves, Janice has chosen the representatives FOR them. By choose, I mean she stuck her hand in a cage they use for picking lottery numbers, and drew. Not the most elegant solution... but Janice forbid we do anything the POLITICAL way.

Back to the danger part. All these people are required to run through each of the seven planets, participating in a series of hilarious, action packed, death defying courses on each of the planet. Chances are, you'll all die in the first three minutes. But if you succeed, you get the honor of making it to what Janice calls the Tower of Doom.

To give people the satisfaction they desire, Janice has split herself into 7, and a clone is waiting at the top of each of the towers. Killing one of these clones wins you the round, and a spectacular prize, witch will be a handy advantage in the next round. After a clone dies, you'll return to your personal chambers (more on that later), where you're allowed to rest for a day, before going back to shedding blood on the next round. You can do whatever you want during this time... within reason. Any tinkering with our computer systems, and we'll blow you up faster than you can say Rudrayan Obliterator. Got to to protect our investments, after all.

How do you win this game? Simple: You cross the finish line. On the seventh and final planet, there's a big, glowing finish line. It says 'Finish' on it. Can;t miss this. You cross it, you win. You don't cross it, you get disintegrated, along with your entire planet. No pressure, right?

The Dead Collar:

You will not want to be slow. Being slow means you're not doing anything. If you're not doing anything, this reality television show gets bad ratings. Bad ratings make bad television. Janice HATES bad television and, since we have irremovable collars around you neck that explode, thus deciding weather you live or die, YOU hate bad television too!

Every contestant has one of these suckers around their neck. If they go out of boundaries during the course, or are just plain boring, then we will press the shiny red button, and blow you to bits, and your planet will quickly follow.

On the other side, this collar has healing properties. As long as your heart beat isn't zero., this sucker will channel Janice's power, and slowly heal any wounds you might receive. You're an investment. Janice protects her investments.... if only to see them come to harm quicker.

Another feature is the timer. After the first person completes a round by killing Janice, a shiny little timer will start ticking on everyone's collar.. You then have 1 hour to reach the top of the Tower or Doom. Fail and... well, let's not talk about that. It's awfully morbid.

Weapons and Other Gizmos

The Doom Vizor: Everyone has them, a little monocle over the eye of their choice. This Vizor keeps a small mini-map of your general surroundings, Also, if your timer begins to tick, it will count down to your demise. Another function is keeping track of your overall health.

Apophis: The Apophis is a state of the art Laser Pistol, that fires... well, pistols. This is the Player's starting weapon, though they'll get more as they go.

Hacker wrist: a wrist watch with hacking capabilities that put most intelligence networks to shame. Simple plug the USB into the computer, and it's under your control, witch lets you do cool stuff. Online gaming is strictly prohibited.

And other items will be revealed later on

Money and Vendors.

Depending on what position you clear a leg of the race, you get money. We're not sleazebags: We enjoy keeping things fair. Can't you tell?
Every break, you'll have the chance to buy things ranging from weapons, to medical packs, to smoke grenades, to anything else we can come up with. Obviously, you put the money in the slot, and you get the item you want. Everyone's happy.

Other Things:

We here at the Dead Zone have a philosophic phrase: Teamwork is everything. In some missions, you'll be required to work together to reach a goal, such as operating a large vehicle, or hitting switches that require more than one person. This makes for good television.

The Planets/ Courses

Now, in case none of you made it past Kindergarten, there are 7 planets in our galaxy, all fully inhabited with all sorts of races. Considering each leg of the race will consist on a different planet, let's all get to know them a little better. Who knows? It could be the difference from smelling the roses to smelling a man eating flower bud.

Burbia: Ah, the quiet, subtle planet of Burbia. Take a break, drink some coffee, watch the latest news, battle for life in the most bizzare battle course located high in the mountains... so much to enjoy. Most people here are lazy good for nothing humans who will never get anything done in their lives, and thus stay at home all day. Chances are, they'll STILL be lazing around once we hit the 'planet go boom' button.

Wendela: Wendela is cold, cold place. Glaciers, falling icicles, plenty of frozen waterfalls... man eating sharks that somehow stay alive... this place is a natural Dead Zone course! There are a few villages, mainly your eskimo types. How they stay alive, not EVEN Janice knows.

Blazina: This planet will give the player the warm up they desired after going through such a cold, relentless hell. Well, once they get to Blazina, they'll be jumping from the freezer into the frying pan! Lava, gysers of flame, lava RIVERS..... it's a miracle that people survive this place. Naturally, the inhabitants stay well away from the giant volcano at the very peak... sounds like a course to me!

Renegis: This planet is a massive orbiting Library... well, not really. But it could be. This place is dominated by robots, and most of them collect information for a living. What kind of electrical death ideas does Janice have in store for our players here? A hint: it involves lots of paper cuts.

Gravina: The murky, alien infested swamps of Gravina make for the perfect Dead Zone course. While it's swampy... there are a LOT of pitfalls, including one I like to call ' The Endless Chasm of Eternal Falling to your Absolute Demise.” This planet is also home to Amazons... you know, the ten feet women who have men issues?

Space Station Equata: Not a technical planet, but a change in gravity never hurt anyone, right? High up in outer space, there is a massive space station built for people who apparently hate water and/or trees, because they've forsaken other living arrangements. Now, I know what you're thinking, β€œWhat could possibly be here?” Well, with Janice's I-rule-the-universe-powers there has been a couple... modifications to it... heh heh heh...

Highlandis: The final stage is on tropical beach. The sun, the sea, babes in bikini's... oh yeah, gotta love this place. This being the final leg of the race, we're not telling much.

The Relaxation zone: A large station for our players to rest, relax, and have fun. Here, people talk, get together, plan to stab someone's back, anything is fair game... just dont break anything.

Battle City: Every couple of rounds, the Battlecity will open up. People who participate MAY get something useful for the next leg of the race,

And now, Without further to do, let's meet our vic- Players!

Burbia:
Wendela
Blazina
Renegis
Gravina
Space Station Equata
Highlandis
