Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before. [1v1v1 between Senpai, Shu and Xeraphim]

Even though World War III came to a cessation nearly a quarter of a century ago, the quality of life continued to ebb away. Food, water, shelter... these were the things humanity demanded in order to advance, but the nuclear fallout left behind during the final blows of combat left behind scars that would take years more to fade away. Because of this, most areas were contaminated; clean water and fresh food were rare commodities, and most residential areas sing the Geiger song of inaccessibility. As the years passed, the deaths from Atomic Illness continued to climb, along with starvation, dehydration, and crime. As humanitys' morale continued to plummet, most turned to savagery and violence in order to survive. As the number of Raiders increased, self-detonation became evident. Despite the desperate struggle of the New World Government to try and repair the damage, the brink of collapse was absolute...

Until, one day, a scientist would discover something that would soon become the key to humanity's survival -- some people were beginning to mutate on a molecular level. While most changes, it appeared, did more harm to the subjects than good, others began to develop abilities most would find miraculous. Super strength, flight, elemental manipulation... just few of many types of 'powers' these people began to develop, most as young as six years old.

The New World Government acted fast, and collected as many suspects as they could. Young adults, teenagers... children. As soon as they were discovered to show abnormal abilities, they were relocated by the government for training.

Though they did receive military training for scenarios such as anti-terrorism, assassination, espionage and much more, the NWG kept them on a short leash. They were a safeguard, used in order to sedate the public into a false sense of security. Unless a rebellion took place, these elite groups of soldiers were to do nothing more than put on a smiling face for the public, remaining law-abiding citizens who take direct orders from the NWG. Lapdogs with a government-issued pedigree.

Some of these people didn't like that. And so, a terrorist group primarily consisting of mutants -- metahumans, as they called themselves -- was established. Government buildings began to fall with fire and rubble, all too similarly to the war that had been the cause of their creation to begin with. Again, morale was beginning to wane.

It is now the year 2039, and the NWG are beginning to gather younger members of their mutant soldiers as a wildcard to send out after their newfound nemesis. However, with the older, more experienced group of mutant soldiers in London, England having been wiped out during a anti-terrorism mission, the government has been forced to pull three of these recruits, shipping them to the country that was once known as the land of Hope and Glory for immediate assistance, despite their incomplete training.

These three are tasked with hunting down and wiping out the terrorist cell within the city, a final test to prove that the government chose wisely. But what will they do, when the void begins to call their name?

As of now, this is a private scenario. Should this ever become big, I will open it to other players to take over specific roles. Many of these have predetermined face claims and destinies, though if they become free-to-play, I will allow face claim changes. Please keep the following rules and regulations in mind.

1. Certain aspects of this story have already been predetermined.

2. This is a Hardcore Role-play Hub, meaning I'm expecting a few things from the players here. Correct grammar is a given, as is large posts -- at least three-hundred words. Small grievances are allowed, of course, but I will not tolerate short one-liners. If you are having issues figuring out what to do next, talk to your fellow players.

3. Most NPCs are free to be controlled by all the players here, with the exception of four. NPCs listed are also free to use by the original creator of the universe, β€”(β€’β€’Γ· ιяяєgυℓαяιту Γ·β€’β€’)β€”, in their own running hub.

4. Certain aspects of this game -- primarily certain character abilities -- are much stronger than some would expect. I am allowing these potential game-breaking abilities for story-telling purposes only. Please, if you are taking control of a strong NPC, do not make me regret this.

5. This is the most important rule. The only reason this hub exists is because all players involved expressed interest. I took this interest as a sign of willing to be committed, and so I put a lot of hard work into it -- layouts, story-writing, custom GIFS. This was not a single-day project. I am asking to please respect all the hard work I put into this hub, by remaining committed until the end. Keep in mind, the very definition of text-based roleplay is group story creation, meaning there are others involved, not just yourself. Do not keep us waiting simply because you don't feel like it. I expect, at the minimum, a post a week. If you have to leave for an extended period of time, contact me or post in the OOC so we're not sitting here wondering where you went.
