My Dearest Diary,
This is my last entry. I promise you will never see or hear from me again. It seems as if things can be taken from you ever so slightly. He asked me to run away with him, but I simply cannot under these circumstances. We are not meant to be together, never will I see him again. My family has never allowed it, and will never allow it. A man in poverty cannot fall in love with a rich young lady. I will never love again. But I love him. The tears hit the yellow pages of this letter of memory. Hopefully his eyes will fall upon these simple words of broken love. He has bewitched me, body and soul. I will never again feel the warmth of his hand, the whisper of his breath, or the comfort of his arms. I am leaving England now, and returning to Paris. Oh how I wish he could come with me... I rip this page from my journal to be placed in Madam Ester's hands. I love you, Edward.

Dear Diary,
The rain falls down like my tears. I have lost him to this dreaded war. I sit in solitude as I watch the passing cars. He is fighting for me, but I don't know if I can last this long. He looked so beautiful in his uniform. He is a Nazi now, though he hates the threat of war. He proposed so romantically. We were by the pier as he said his words, "If you lose me, I give you this ring to let you know I will be with you." I won't lose him, but I know he will soon lose me. I am a Jew, and he dosen't know they're taking us to camps. I have heard they kill easily. I will most likely be shot, but our love is so wide I don't care. He will live on. I promised him. This letter is of memory. He will read it, and cherish it, and fall in love again. Oh how I miss him so deeply. I smile as I cry knowing my own fate. Diary,
Why do bad things happen to good people? I guess you could call this a Romeo and Juliet story. He is dying of cancer, and I am losing him so quickly. We had fallen in love at first sight. He crashed into my car. Romantic, isn't it? This is the city of love, not the city of loss. We are both young, but I know he is the one I want to marry, even if I'm only 17. I don't care what my parents say. I'm not a child anymore! I'm losing him! I need him. I need him to live, for me. His rough hands and smile brighten my day, but the thought of his slow breathing makes me shiver. Heaven will hold him for me, and he will float with the angels. I will join him one day, but hopefully soon. I need him. Hopefully, someone will read this letter of memory. I rip this page from my journal to be placed in Madam Ester's hands. I love you, Romeo.
