Appearance: Lady Fate is a shapeshifter. Depending on the situation, she can take one of three forms. The first is a lilac haired, sad eyed creature of blatant magical power. This form is exceedingly tall, and graceful, with lithe limbs and long fingers. Her face falls into a solemn expression very easily in this form, though no one is quite sure if this has more to do with the fact that she only wears this form when she must be solemn. In this form, she prefers to wear simple purple robes, and a deep green cloak. She compliments these with golden jewellery, usually with some enchantment or other.

Her second form is that of an innocent looking elven girl, with long blonde curls and wide green eyes. This form has two situations in which she wears it, and they are when she is joyful and happy, or when she must appear helpless. This form is much smaller than her first form, barely reaching most women's shoulders, with modest curves. In this form, Lady Fate wears pretty gowns, usually green, along with fancy silver jewellery.

Lady Fate's final form is known as her "War Form". This one is the rarest to see, as it can only be seen when Lady Fate is either doing battle, or willing to, and Lady Fate rarely lets her anger get the best of her. This form is far more muscled and stout that the other two, while standing as tall as the first. In this form, she has tanned skin, with dark eyes and hair. As this is the form she wears in battle, she will usually wear utilitarian clothes, and armour.

The trick to recognising Lady Fate, no matter her form, is her ever-present staff. It is a long white rod, which twists at the tip to become a glowing crystal, which changes colour depending on her form. Purple for her first form, green for her second, and yellow for her War Form. The only situation you would see her without her staff is in the middle of battle.
Personality: Lady Fate is immensely wise. She appears calm in the face of all things, though sometimes, this mask will break. She remains mysterious, often showing a knowing look on her face. Mind you, half the time, this knowing look is a mask, for when she doesn't know what's going on. The one rumour about her that Lady Fate will hotly contest is that she can see the future. She cannot see the future, she's just well informed and good at speculating, she will keep saying this until the day she dies. If she does not turn out to be immortal, which is unlikely. She is pretty friendly for all of this though, and loves a party. Not one of the stuck up official balls, but the fairs in small villages, where everyone's dancing or drunk. She finds those fun. Also, she can drink most anyone under the table, and is very proud of this fact. Mind you, she doesn't announce the fact that she enjoys these so much, as she has to hold onto her mystique.

History: For as long as records and oral tradition in Fanttasia remember, there have been two things. First, The Scrying Pool of Dreams and Nightmares, originally a natural pond before the fortress was built around it. Secondly, a strange, shapeshifting sorceress who guarded it from those who would tamper with it. Over time, this woman came to be known by many names, The Ageless Lady, Threeface, The Scyer, but the name she is known by currently is simply Lady Fate. She has kept watch over the pool since before civilisation reached where Sielebten has come to stand, and has never left. She has never went on a diplomatic mission, instead devoting almost all of her time to the pool. However, over time, a strange kind of humanity has crept into her, and she's taken to enjoying the revelry of common fairs. She has watched through wars, and even had to defend the fortress herself a couple of times. In the end, the fortress has never fallen. After many years of being a lone guardian of the pool, other people started asking to be taught about the pool, and she ended up with a whole order of scholars and attendants helping her watch the pool. However, she was the first to realise the specks of colour had begun to appear.
