The old Elmer complex was scheduled for demolition in November four years ago but something stopped it. As preparations for demolition were being made a string of deaths occurred in & around the complex. Officials said the deaths were caused by faulty equipment despite numerous witnesses of the deaths claiming otherwise. The witnesses claimed to see some sort of person & even gave the same description despite being interviewed at different times. Witnesses claimed that the deaths were caused by a naked, hairless, emaciated, featureless, female, with a stripe across where her eyes should've been. This was dismissed as several things ranging from accused mental illness to a group conspiracy despite the protest to these accusations by the surviving witnesses. After the event took place many of the witnesses went insane & were institutionalized, some disappeared, others committed suicide, & the fewest & arguably luckiest of them went into a deep depression but were able to go on about their everyday lives some time after. This event was named the Emerson incident after the most vocal of the survivors who claims to have been attacked by the person & went on record as to saying "It wasn't a woman. It was a monster. It had spikes for limbs & a mouth for a face".He was institutionalized immediately after. Even though all accounts of this creature have been dismissed or discredited the building was declared indefinitely condemned.

The even soon ceased to be covered by local news, and over the years it became nothing more than folklore and superstition. The story was scoffed at by the young and feared by the old. It became the stuff of bedtime and campfire stories. Death continued to happen around the complex, the bodies mostly consisted of squatters and vagrants that were ignored by the public due to their lack of social significance. Experts came every now and again to examine the old complex, but left soon after arriving, stating whatever was in there wasn't a ghost. Many compared the entity to the Jersey Devil, but were disproven by failures to exorcise it.
