20 years ago an event called the Awakening hit the earth; seeming out of nowhere and for no reason a series of explosions rocked the world. This triggered many natural disasters to follow. When the dust settled many cities were in ruin, and a third of the world population was dead. Work to rebuild was nearly instantaneous. Soon after strange beings started appearing, known as the sevarians.
The sevarians looked like humans at first but one very strange quality that set them apart, they could transform into an animal at will. The sevarians began to seek out what they called “Partners”, humans who they for one reason or another felt a strong bond with and would spend most of their time searching for. Many people believe that the Sevarians are spirit beings created by the gods, and that their appearance was man’s last chance to show that they could live with nature instead of against it.

Whatever the true reason for their appearance here, the Sevarines continue to look for their partners and battle fiercely to protect them once they have formed a pact with them.
