Description

Age:
19

Race:
Human

Faction:
Azure Blades

Eyes:
Light blue

Hair:
Short, messy, and blond

Skin:
Caucasian; He has a smooth, clear complexion. He wishes it were rougher.

Height:
5'9"

Weight:
130lbs

Build:
Jeremiah is thin, but not scrawny. He's lean, but he'd probably be a small, almost laughable, boy if it weren't for his muscle.

Physical description:
Jeremiah is often mocked for his young looks and smallish frame. He's borderline average, but that's honestly only because of all the hard work he's put into stocking himself up to look bigger and badder. He's not short--average height for his age--but he's really skinny, even with his muscles. He doesn't care for eating and often forgets or skips meals, and that mixed with a naturally fast metabolism doesn't leave him with much to offer. It hardly bothers him though. He compensates. Jeremiah has a distinguishing scar running along his left side, down to his hip, from the time he got in a knife fight and nearly lost. His right shoulder was crushed (see history) and he was forced to replace it with robotic parts at the risk of losing his entire arm. Other than that, he looks like a normal person.

Dislikes:
-Birds
-The color pink
-Talking about himself
-Losing a game
-Robots

Fears:
=Bathophobia. Fear of falling from high places. Oddly enough, heights don't bother him, but that probably comes with being born above the clouds. However, if he finds himself at risk of falling or on something unstable high above ground, he'll start to freak out. He'll see double-vision and start hyperventilating a little.

=Technophobia. Fear of robots. He doesn't hate them, but they definitely manage to scare the ever-loving crap out of him. He tries to avoid them if at all possible and if he sees one, he'll turn and head in the other direction if at all possible. If not, then his hands will start shaking and his 'cool' demeanor will melt away into a stuttery, nervous wreck. This doesn’t apply to technology or anything, but those walking, talking, blending hunks of junk? No way.

Personality Description:
Jeremiah is someone who shouldn’t be allowed out into the world. He’s got a serious knack for getting himself into trouble on almost a daily basis. He mouths off to guys bigger than him and his sarcasm is shameless. He speaks before he thinks. He tries to compensate for his smallish stature by sounding bigger and badder than he usually is. This, immediately, isn’t the issue. The issue is when he mouths off to the wrong guy and they decide to test out just how legit his ramblings are. They usually turn out to discover that they were mostly, if not all, completely wrong and over the top and Jeremiah ends up with his butt being handed to him or him running far, far away from the impending danger with just another knife hanging over his neck (figuratively speaking, of course).

When he’s not being a total overcompensating idiot, Jeremiah’s off gambling somewhere, getting himself into even more trouble. He loves dares and games and gambling only rises the stakes of the games. They’re exciting to him and he’s actually not bad at them, shockingly enough. He’s tricked a big head or two in his time. He’s notorious for gambling a guy blind. However, people tend to get this idea in their heads that he’s--gasp--cheating them and end up demanding their stuff back. When he refuses...well, you can see how that tends to go. All in all, Jeremiah will swear up and down that he uses no cheap tricks. He’s ‘just that good.’

Despite what most would guess due to his occasional oblivious thinkings or childish antics, Jeremiah is actually pretty level headed. He doesn’t seem like he knows what he’s doing, but he does. There’s gotta be a reason he’s managed to live this long with all the trouble he gets himself into. Around others, he’s a nice and casual sort of guy. He tries to be charming, but around good-looking girls (or the occasional guy), he gets tongue-tied and easily manipulated. It’s quite the amusing sight to see, really, until he realizes he got jipped somehow, which is how that situation usually ends. He’s sweet, he really is. He doesn’t like to be too rude to people, especially when he’s not trying to gamble some sucker out of their nice, attractive bag of cash.

Most of the things Jeremiah wears is loose-fitting or wrinkled. He prefers browns, dull and dark colors that don't bring a lot of attention to him. He always wear long-sleeves, but his pants vary between shorts (a little past the knee) or regular pants, usually something like cargo pants or something of the sort. He might wear boots, but it's not uncommon for his to switch to just going barefoot or wearing some loose sandals. He has an odd hat-like thing he likes to wear, an article of clothing he almost never goes without. It seems to define him most of all (see the picture for better description). He doesn't wear armor.

Tools:
A screw driver--because you never known when you'll need it.

History

Past:
Jeremiah lived a simple life. He was born to a very poor family in the Lower District below the clouds. He never could pinpoint was his parents did, as they always did a variety of odd jobs here and there. As he grew older, at around the age of five, his mother died of a strange illness. Nobody in their small family had the money to get her any sort of medical attention. His father was a good man though and somehow managed to work his way up into the business of being an engineer, gaining them that much more money. It was a good job, but left him tired and with little time to spend with his son. So Jeremiah usually went about his own devices in this dangerous world.

He would always explore the underground areas and, by the age of seven, he witnessed a pirate attack. It was nothing big or spectacular or anything that looked too planned out, really, but it was amazing to him. These rough and tough guys burst straight into the most popular bar in the area and took everything they wanted. They not only got cash, but the women gave them jewelry and the men gave them their weapons. There were no questions asked. Nobody even made an attempt to argue against them. And, after they were done, they settled down to have a drink as if they hadn't just robbed the place blind. It was awesome.

Jeremiah wanted to be just like them. He decided it right then and there that he was going to be a pirate. He would of told his dad, but he never had the chance, so he kept his secrets to himself. He trained himself in sword fighting and thievery around the area. He tried to be intimidating, but that never worked. So, when people never gave him what he asked for, he simply took it. Or, as he found easier to do, gambled for it. People rarely objected when they were gambled out of their stuff. They lost and that was the end of it.

It was actually only at the age of thirteen that he finally joined a pirate crew. Jeremiah knew about robots and all that they did, but he never once trusted them. A robot, in fact, watched over the workers at the engineering business his father worked for. Jeremiah never liked the robot because of his cruel ways of keeping his workers in line, even going to the point of physical punishment, in which his father came home many days in searing pain. At thirteen, his father decide Jeremiah was old enough to come to work with him to see how things worked. Unfortunately, the boy being the clutz he was, ended up breaking a very vital machine. The robot was not very happy and threatened to fire his father and make them pay for the costs. So, at a loss of what else to do, Jeremiah made a bet. He bet his father's job and the expenses over his freedom. He would let the robot have him do whatever he wanted--if he lost, that is. The game was some simple street trick, where Jeremiah placed a coin under a cup and moved it around. If the robot guessed which cup held the coin, he won, if not, he lost. One chance. Jeremiah's not sure how he did it, but... Jeremiah hid the coin under his sleeve and the robot--somehow, someway--noticed it and got angry at the offensive behavior. He knocked the boy to the ground and crushed his shoulder. Jeremiah's father managed to get him free enough to run, and so he did.

At the end of things, he was saved by a group of pirate. Not just any pirates: the Azure Blades. They agreed to heal him (replacing his shoulder with a more mechanical part) and take him in as their own when they realized what kind of spunk and admiration he had for them. Over the years, at one point, he came to a place where he found something he wanted more than anything. An elf girl by the name of Da'shyll. She was owned by somebody else, so he dropped everything to gamble for her. And he won.

So begins...
