Introduction
Arc I - Blood is Richer than Water
The primarily-human state of Mesomia is caught in political turmoil as a charismatic Female Throne--a sort of baroness who owns and rents sections of land--seeks to unite the squabbling politicians against their common enemies to the north--the savage Ruenaalzanyaa and the dreaded Uruehn-Akr. The Female Throne has hired many with her silver in an attempt to give her an edge against her enemies: mercenaries to bolster her private army, assassins to move against her rivals, diplomats and lawyers to establish alliances. The players are one such group of hired hands, a cell reserved for urban activities, and in the course of their investigations, they may uncover disturbing facts about the world they thought they knew.
Metagame
This RP is intended to be a high-fantasy adventure with plenty of drama, intrigue, and heroism. As the story progresses (through "arcs"), the characters will grow in strength, knowledge, power, and importance, with each arc culminating in a world-changing event. However, there is no predefined tale, no narrative by which to follow--players are free to take their characters' loyalties, beliefs, and actions where they will, and reap (or suffer) the consequences and benefits. The only favor asked is that the players seek to understand the world around them before rushing into to interact.
The Character
There are a wide variety of people in the world of Tohmuenaa (literally "The Earth, The Sea, The Sky"), each possessing their own unique abilities and qualities. Players may choose to create characters from the alien Aak'yrr or the proud Aesalom, and fashion their hero as a dangerous Reaver or devoted Ascetic. However, immediately clear from your mind any desire or interest in creating a angst-fueled fallen angle or almighty sociopathic demon--such is not the way in the world, and so it will not be. Instead, a wide variety of archetypes are available for you to create your character around.
Races & Cultures
Each race and culture is merely a generalization of the collective population, there are certainly outliers of any group. There exists within each culture a few "castes," or social groups functioning in a particular role--please inquire for more information if you want to have your character be of a particular caste. Each culture is organized by its geographic location and elemental alignment.

Classes
Now that you have a superficial understanding of each culture, try to build your character into some derivative of one of the time-honored archetypes: magic, martial, or subtle (wizard, warrior, or rogue). From here, I can work with you to establish which of the nine classes your character fits best with: Sorcerer, Ascetic, Scholar, Knight, Reaver, Warrior, Assassin, Scout, or Hunter. Each class has their own set of unique abilities and powers that allow them to surpass any obstacle they many encounter, and the class system is intended to facilitate the character's interaction with the world.
For the Character Sheet
- Synopsis should be represented in this format: "Class - Elemental alignment - [Player Character]"
- Descriptions and personality should be short and to the point. Quality is for the IC, clarity for the OOC.
- History should be well meshed into the world. Feel free to let a character's history be explained through the course of the RP, however.
----------------- - The following should go first in equipment:
- Code: Select all
Elemental Alignment: (Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Light, Dark, Spirit, Void--please talk to me first before choosing an elemental alignment)
Armor: (None, Light, Medium, Heavy--this is to be largely dictated by class)
Magic Level: (Please leave this blank until you've spoken with me about your character)
Weapons: (Please provide a simple weapon description, like "long sword" or "battle axe," before continuing to describe your weapon, if it's unique
Class Level: I (do not change this)
