This area houses the Armory, Hangar, Vehicle bays, and Storage. It was done in such a way to facilitate quick deployments, as soldiers could grab their equipment and walk right out to their transports.

"Shit man, you really don't give up do you." She tosses the grease rag she wiped her hands off on and walked out the door, her hands in the air as she shook her head. "You don't know how to look at what you have."
He chased after her. "I'm sorry!" He said he walked past her then took her in his arms and gently kissed her before letting up. "And for the record I know what I have if I you want it." He said to her.
"Look, your a sweet guy. I like you, but you aren't doing this program thing for another few weeks. Make it count."
"I will." He said "I'll meet you at the messhall" He said walking away smiling. He went to go change into his off duty clothes.
"Oh. I guess I'll apologise later, then, but for now I have more important things to do, I imagine. After you," he gestured as he stood up.
She stood up and walked out to the hangar. People were still doing their jobs, but in hardsuits like what the man on the ship wore. One man in a particularly large suit stood outside, his arms crossed. "Over here."
He followed Emily out, his hooded head turning slowly to examine those in the hangar around him. Eventually, he noticed the man in the large suit, so he began to walk towards the figure with his arms held loosely at his side.

"Emily, good to have you back. I take it this was that radiation hazard you mentioned?" He put a hand out for Erich to shake.
"I hope I don't burn through your suit," was how he greeted the General. He had to look away as he held his hand out to accept the shake, because despite being assured the hazmat suits would protect them, he would always have trouble believing until he actually made contact.
"I'm simply reluctant to believe contact through a certain material won't harm the other person, until I've actually taken the risk of trying. Even my gloves are made of a special material to negate the affects of radiation," he answered.
"No worries. So what brings you here?" He genuinely knew, but he just wanted to hear Erich's point of view.
"Because you people brought me here," he answered. "Apparently you want my skills, or have I been misled?"
"You would be correct. It seems there were some drawbacks though, as noted by everyone in this room having to wear Hazard gear. As long as you take your precautions, we should be fine though."
"Just an extra warning not to physically contact me should be enough. As far as I'm aware, I can't give people radiation sickness without touching them."
