Name: Creighton Derwood

Age: 25

Race: Human

Faction: Guard: Captain

Weapons: Although his position requires him to be adept at all different styles of weapons, Creighton prefers to carry a revolver and longsword. The revolver was given to him as a gift in honor of his promotion to Captain. The long barrel is made out of stainless steel and the bulky handle was carved with ebony wood and given pearl inlays in the center of its leather grips. It was most certainly a more decorative weapon than a useful one, but Creighton carried it out of respect for his father who had been the one to gift it. The sword he carried was far from the ones that were issued to the guards, but after many convincing discussions Creighton was allowed to carry it while on duty. The long, curved blade was made out of dark titanium and was strong and sharp enough to penetrate through bone. The hilt was made of titanium as well and wrapped with black suede to make it easier to grip. The sword was far simpler and far less bulky than the ones that were normally issued to the guards and it is for this reason that Creighton chose his titanium blade.

Appearance: Image

Creighton stands at a decent six foot even height and weighs approximately 175 pounds. His black curly hair he keeps cut a couple inches above his shoulders, but other than keeping the length in check he lets it go wild for the most part. His face, although young, is hardened after years of training and small battles. He has a nasty scar along his jaw line and maintains a short black beard in an effort to hide it. His eyes are a plain brown earning him no long stares and attempting to mesmerize women with them almost always fails. His position with the guard requires him to exercise and keep his body toned and in shape. While he is on guard duty he is almost always seen in his chain mail and dark leather armor, the crest of Fasdal sewn into the center of the chest piece and a symbol of his rank on his left bracer. Occasionally he will be seen in his plate armor but it is one of his least favorite things to wear. He feels as though it encumbers him and does not allow him to move as quickly as he oftentimes needs to. When he is not on duty, which is extremely rare, he wears a black loose poet's shirt underneath a black leather vest with white trousers tucked into knee high black boots. If it's chilly he'll wear a black cloak as well.

Personality: Creighton is devoted to his job like no other guard, which is perhaps why he was promoted to captain. He takes his job extremely seriously and leaves no room for failure. It is because of his devotion that he rarely takes a day off and is oftentimes forced to go home to relax. Though, he's convinced his superiors and colleagues get tired of his need for perfection in both the men he commands and the equipment they use. He is extremely strict with his men while on duty, making sure that they perform at the best of their ability. However, when he's in the mess hall with them he shows a different side. He asks them about their families and keeps up to date with what's going on with all of them, bonding with them so that he can better understand them. He is kind and caring and has been known to send a man home if he is either ill or if there is trouble with the family. He stands up for his men and treats them like their his own family. The requirements of his job with the combination of his dedication have left very little time for him to look for a potential wife or even think about starting a family with someone and he doesn't seem to mind. His job is his life.

Opinion on War: Creighton is a bit disappointed that Fasdal isn't taking part in the war. He would love to be out there on the front line fighting those that dare attack his country. He understands, however, that he is needed in Fasdal to protect the city he was born and raised in.

History: Creighton was born and raised by Cynthia and John Derwood, simple farmers. As soon as he turned six, his father brought him out into the fields with him and taught him how to farm. Life was simple and plain as a farmer, a life that his parents enjoyed and prospered in but not a life that seemed fit for Creighton. He always felt as though he was meant to do something better, something more important. His father always asked him what was more important that providing the citizens of Fasdal with food and Creighton never could answer his father's question until his sixteenth birthday. He would never forget looking up from his hoe to watch as half a dozen guards escorted fresh recruits to be trained. He remembered feeling a great sense of purpose when he looked upon them and knew that that was what he wanted to do, to become a guard and protect the citizens of Fasdal. When he told his Father how he felt, the old man surprised him with these words; "Go follow your heart, boy. We will always be here for you if you decide to come home." He left the next morning, tracked the Guard Captain down and did not leave until he accepted him as a recruit.

Creighton worked as hard as he could during training. He had difficulty at first, but soon he was mastering the different weapons and fighting styles they threw at him. At the age of seventeen he was accepted into the Guard much to the delight of his family. He couldn't always visit them, but he always sent half of his pay to them in hopes that they would soon have enough for his old man to retire and live an easy life. He was twenty-one when the captain of the guard was murdered by an angry prisoner and it was the next day when Creighton was approached to take his place. He accepted without question and was promoted in a mere couple of hours. When his father received the news he ventured into the city, which he seldom did, and handed Creighton the flintlock pistol he still uses to this day. That was the last time he remembered seeing his father before he dedicated his entire being into his job. He reformed the Guard and made them more efficient, cutting down crime by nearly fifty percent. He was the youngest, but most effective, Captain to ever grace the Guard of Fasdal.
